Survivor Series: 15/11/1998

WWF Survivor Series was live at the Kiel Center in St. Louis, Missouri. he opening match was part of the tournament and saw Mr. McMahon introduce Mankind and his mystery opponent. After a grandiose introduction, promising a WWF veteran with a record setting win–loss record, jobber Duane Gill came out. The match barely lasted one minute as Mankind knocked Gill to the mat and rolled him up for a pin.

Al Snow's match against Jeff Jarrett began with Snow following Jarret's valet, Debra McMichael. Snow soon entered the ring and took the first advantage, using the ropes to aid him with a neckbreaker but mistiming a flying leg drop. After a succession of reversed pinfalls attempts by both parties and a DDT by Snow, both men were lying on the mat. Debra walked onto the apron with Snow's mannequin head to distract the referee and allow Jarrett to pick it up. Snow himself grabbed Jarrett's guitar and swung for Jarrett, but missed and received Head. Jarrett went to attack him again in the corner but a kick from Snow allowed him to grab the Head and smack into it Jarrett's face, allowing a victory via pinfall when the referee finally looked back. Snow faced Mankind in the quarter finals.

Big Boss Man met Steve Austin on the walkway for their fight, with Austin throwing Boss Man into the steel steps before the match was officially under way. Inside the ring Boss Man used his punches to subdue Austin before choking him in the middle of the ring. Crowd support inspired Austin to fight back with a clothesline, shoulder barging his opponent into the turnbuckle before stomping a mudhole. After being Irish whipped against the ropes, Boss Man escaped the ring and when Austin caught up with him, he was met with a night stick from the Boss Man. The referee awarded the match via disqualification to Austin but that did not stop the onslaught from Boss Man's nightstick, much to the delight of Mr. McMahon.

The fourth tournament match, between European Champion X-Pac and Steven Regal, saw X-Pac's fast paced style take advantage over Regal until a mistimed bronco buster in the corner left X-Pac in pain. Regal pulled him out to fit a seated abdominal stretch on him. Regal's mat-based technical style kept X-Pac slowed down and without much of his arsenal. Regal ventured to the top rope with his opponent, utilizing a double-underhook suplex from the top turnbuckle to put pressure on X-Pac's fragile neck. X-Pac regained the offense but when he went for a top rope maneuver, Regal shook the ropes, causing him to fall to the outside. Regal pursued him and both men were counted out. On McMahon's orders, Commissioner Slaughter attempted to restart the match but as an injured and confused X-Pac was already halfway up the ramp and Regal pursued him backstage, the match was not restarted, giving Steve Austin a bye through to the semi-finals.

Next match wasn't part of the tournament, but it as for the Intercontinental Championship.

In the arena, Ken Shamrock's theme hits to boos as the world's most dangerous man makes his way out to the ring. "The following contest is scheduled for one-fall and is for the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Championship!" Howard Finkel announced. "Introducing the challenger, from Sacramento, California, weighing 243 lbs, the world's most dangerous man... KEN SHAMROCK!"

"Well folks, Shamrock is set to take on the Bladewolf for the Bladewolf's Intercontinental Championship." JR said. "This all started the night after Judgment Day, both men cost each other their matches and since then they've been in each other's business until Vince McMahon announced that the two would meet tonight with the Intercontinental Championship on the line."

"And Shamrock must win, because I bet Mr. McMahon is watching." Jerry said.

Shamrock makes his way to the ring and gets inside, pacing around as his theme dies down and he waits for the arrival of the current Intercontinental Champion.

OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!

The fans popped at the wolf howl as The Devil's Wolf plays and the lights dim down to the sinister blood red and dark blue before fire explodes on the stage and out comes the Bladewolf with the WWF Intercontinental Championship around his waist.

"And his opponent. From Death Valley, weighing 310 lbs, the World Wrestling federation Intercontinental Champion... THE BLADEWOLF!" Howard Finkel announced.

"Straight from darkness and destruction comes the Demon Wolf himself!" JR said. "For 181 days, the Bladewolf has dominated as Intercontinental Champion. Whether it's on RAW, HEAT, or house shows, the Bladewolf has defended his title and retained against all challengers. He may very well hold that title going in 1999."

"We'll see." jerry said with little faith.

The Bladewolf climbs onto the ring apron and steps over the top rope as the lights return to normal. He flips his hair back as he takes off his Intercontinental Championship and hands it to the referee without looking away from Shamrock who stares back without intimidating as Bladewolf's theme dies down. The referee raises the title, showing everyone it's on the line, hands it to someone at ringside before he calls for the bell.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

"And here we go." JR said as Bladewolf and Shamrock met up with a collar-and-elbow tie-up. "Tie-up here to start this match off."

Bladewolf shoves Shamrock back with ease. Shamrock runs at the Champion but gets floored with a huge big boot to the face before he goes for a quick cover.

"One!"

"Two-!"

Shamrock kicks out at two.

Bladewolf flips his hair back before dragging Shamrock over to the corner and stomps on him repeatedly several times before he pulls Shamrock to his feet, twists the left arm before dropping Shamrock with a kick to the face before going for the cover.

"And there's the cover." JR said.

"One!"

"Two!"

"Thr-!"

Shamrock kicks out again at two. Bladewolf pulls Shamrock to his feet and Irish whips Shamrock off the ropes and floors him with a huge clothesline before he goes for the cover.

"One!"

"Two!"

"Thre-!"

Shamrock kicks out at two again.

"Almost over there." JR said. "Shamrock, he's a tough son of a gun."

Bladewolf pulls Shamrock to his feet and lands a big right hand, knocking Shamrock against the ropes but Shamrock comes right back with a punch of his own and starts throwing punches at Bladewolf only for the Demon Wolf to land a right of his own, making Shamrock stumble back into the corner. Bladewolf lands a quick right uppercut to Shamrock, then Irish whips him off the ropes, goes for a right but Shamrock ducks it, bounces off the ropes and takes Bladewolf down with a dropkick.

"The dropkick. The dropkick by Shamrock." JR said as Shamrock runs, leaps... AND TAKES BLADEWOLF DOWN WITH A HEADSCICCORS! "Boom!"

Bladewolf gets right back up as Shamrock tries a leaping punch at him... BUT BLADEWOLF CATCHES HIM ON HIS SHOULDERS! Bladewolf... HITS THE FURY OF THE WOLF! He shoves Shamrock onto his back and hooks the legs!

"One!"

"Two!"

"Three! Ring the bell!" The referee shouted.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

The Devil's Wolf plays as Bladewolf gets to his feet and flips his hair back. "Here is your winner and STILL World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Champion... THE BLADEWOLF!" Howard Finkel announced as Bladewolf takes his title from the referee and puts it on his right shoulder.

"This is not going to make Mr. McMahon very happy." Jerry said.

"Oh who cares?" JR rolled his eyes.

"I do!" Jerry said.

Bladewolf leaves the ring and makes his way to the back with his title on his shoulder...

And that's it for this chapter. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I have writing it.
