In the Pokémon World, which consists of several regions, the focus heads from Pallet Town in the Kanto Region, to the Sinnoh Region. The exact location is at the front of one of the largest lakes in the region, Lake Valor. Beyond the lake's border, is a nearby town and there is a white building with a red and white circle at the top of the entrance area. This is known as the Pokémon Center, a place where people and Trainers alike can rest their Pokémon or take a break from their long journey here. Inside, people are waiting for whatever their needs are. While some are staff members, checking in, some visitors have Pokémon at their side. One of those people that is waiting is a young man waiting on a blue bench. He brushes his raven-colored hair as he looks up at a glowing red sign. The eleven-year-old boy is dressed in a black vest with a white collar and yellow stripe, a white short-sleeved undershirt. The young tween also wears blue cargo jeans, black and red sneakers, and his hat has a blue symbol on the face of it. Soon, an ringtone sounds, and from a door comes a young woman with a nurse's gown who is wheeling out a stretcher that has a case and a yellow mouse-like creature. "Ash Ketchum, I have good news, all of your Pokémon, even your Pikachu are in good health," the woman says with a smile on her face. Ash stands up with a look of relief on his face, "Thanks Nurse Joy, I'm glad that everyone is doing good, especially you, Pikachu. I'm glad you are feeling better." "(I'm glad to see you again too!)", Pikachu says to Ash (despite saying only his name in real life). As Pikachu hops onto Ash's shoulder, he nuzzles up to him with a smile.
A young girl, similar age as Ash then comes through the door to meet him, "Hey, Ash, Pikachu," the girl says with a smile, "It's good to hear that everyone is doing fine." The young girl has blue eyes and the same colored long hair. She wears a mini dress consisting of a black V-neck tank top with a white shirt under it, a very short pink mini skirt, and a red scarf. On her head, she wears a white beanie with a pink symbol print on it. She also wears jewelry around her clothing from gold clips that hold up her hair, to a bracelet on her right wrist as well as a unique watch on her left. On her feet, she wears pink knee-high boots with black mid-knee socks. Soon, a small and blue penguin-like Pokémon appears from behind the girl, and sees Pikachu's lightning tail wagging happily. At that sight, he smiles and hops off of her small yellow backpack. Ash sees the small Pokémon go after Pikachu, "Dawn, I guess Piplup is happy to see Pikachu better too." Dawn winks at Ash and has a grin on her face, "Of course, we've been together ever since you first came to Sinnoh. Ash smiles back and then motions to his friends and Pokémon, "Cmon, let's get together with Brock. He probably has something great cooked up!" "Agreed, let's not keep the Brockster waiting!", Dawn says chasing after Ash with excitement.
They soon head out to a nearby field outside, where a teenage boy is near a pot, stirring the contents inside. Brock despite being the oldest of the threesome, clothing is very sturdy and comfortable. Brock wears a green collared shirt, an orange vest with brown trim, khaki pants with knee stitching, and blue high-top sneakers. "Hey, Brock!" Ash and Dawn call out and then Brock looks to see his friends coming toward him. "Hey guys, the stew is almost ready. Can you guys help set up?" They both shake their hands yes and help out Brock with setting the table. The three each lay out utensils and bowls for themselves, as well as their own teams of Pokémon.
After the gang filled up and cleaned up, the group each put on their clothes and backpacks. Soon, Nurse Joy, who is known for taking care of the health cases of the Pokémon Center, comes to the group with a hurried look on her face. Ash is the first to turn and face her, "Oh hey, Nurse Joy, is everything all right?" "I'm fine, young Trainer," Nurse Joy admits, "Professor Oak just called, he wants to talk to you about something." Everyone heads inside as Dawn thinks to herself, "Wow, I can't believe I get to see Professor Oak..." The human group soon heads to one of the calling booths, while the Pokémon head to the window, watching the scenery. Once at the booth, Professor Oak appears on the screen and Ash answers the call first. "Oh, hey, Professor Oak, is everything ok?" "I'm fine, my boy," the professor admits, "Everything is ok here in Pallet Town, but Tracey found something interesting and we are investigating it now." Brock then chimes in, "What did you are you investigating, Professor, is it something about a Legendary Pokémon?" "Just one sec, Brock," Professor Oak says before leaving the screen for a second. He then appears again, but this time with a card in his right hand. "It's this card, Tracey found this at a nearby cave and we've been doing investigations on this for some time."
Dawn then appears and says, "What have you found out so far, Professor?" "Well, Dawn," Oak says to the young girl, "We know that this card isn't Pokémon-related, but it's similar to Pokémon in a few ways." Prof. Oak continues explaining the information that he and Tracey found, "The circular symbols on this card are like the type symbols for Pokémon, however, we don't know what these symbols mean." In a hot second, Pikachu, who was looking outside at first, hops onto Ash and alerts the group, "(Hey, everyone, cards are falling from the sky!)" Professor Oak gets alerted by Tracey too, "Professor, that same card? There are more of them and they are falling from the sky!" It takes a moment for everyone to realize what the other said, before they all exclaim, "WHAT?!" As everyone exclaims, they all have shocked expressions on their faces. Professor Oak then says to Ash, "This is big news for all of us! Ash, go with your friends and see what's going on. Tell us all about your findings!" "We certainly will, Professor!", Ash says before heading with Dawn and Brock outside of the Pokémon Center.
The three of them soon found themselves in the middle of the same yard, where they had their lunch. Each one couldn't believe what was happening, cards were falling from the sky. All of them each grab a card and soon hold it in their hands. "This is... amazing... you don't see this every day," Ash admitted to the others while looking at the intriguing card. Dawn then shakes her head in agreement as she investigates her card. "I agree, it's so mysterious, yet, so fascinating," Dawn says, smiling at the big discovery. Brock then adds to the amazement, "I've never seen anything like it, myself. Professor Oak was right, this IS a big find."
As the three smile, Ash's expression changes as he hears a voice. While the voice itself is weak, Ash can make it out just barely, "Ash...", the voice says weakly, "Please... set the... Gate Card... "Ash, surprised by the voice then alerts the "Guys, did you hear that voice?" The others shake their heads, first in disagreement, but then soon hear their own names called. "Dawn..., help us...," another voice says, making Dawn shake her head. "Yeah, I did hear my name...", Dawn says in a little bit of shock. "This is something... that only you, Brock... and the others can do," another voice says, calling out to Brock. "Hey, I heard my name too," Brock said, "These are called Gate Cards, shall we set them?" Ash and Dawn shake their heads and together get into position. They each stand a few feet apart from each other and in the open field, where no one else is watching. Once planned out, the three lock on to the field and shout out, "GATE CARD, SET!" As they shout that phrase, the threesome toss their cards to separate parts of the nearby open field. Much to the surprise of everyone, the gate cards soon expand and open to reveal three circles of three different colors. From left to right, Dawn looks at the blue circle, Ash looks at the red circle, and Brock looks at the Brown Circle.
The circles then transform into three figures, starting on the left. On the left, a blue figure appears as if he is an old mage and is holding a staff with the same blue symbol as it appeared on the card. The red circle transforms into a figure that has a mix of a bipedal dragon and he also has human features as well. The brown figure transforms into a statue-like man with an ancient look on his face, the throne that he sits on is ancient, but sturdy and brown. "Who or what are you, are you Pokémon?" Ash asks the three figures, Pikachu and Piplup are in awe and confused about who these beings are. The red figure speaks "I am Apollonir, the person on my right is Frosch, the person on my left is Clayf. The three of us are part of the 6 Ancient Warriors of Vestroia. We've come here to your world, because need your help Ash, Dawn, and Brock." Dawn then steps forward, "How do you know you us and why do you need help?"
The blue figure then speaks, "Young girl, we've been watching your efforts against evil forces, ever since you've begun your journey in this part of this world." Brock then steps forward, "Is Vestroia your home and if you are not Pokémon, then, what are you?" "Vestroia is our home, yes, but we are not Pokémon, we are known as Bakugan," Clayf says to the young teen. Ash then steps forward, "What is going on in your home, Apollonir? I'm ready to help you already." Apollonir then heads down to the trainers' "Young boy, you are just like the people that you will help. They are known as the Bakugan Battle Brawlers. The kids are about your age," Ash smiles at the interesting fact. Apollonir then continues, "They are taking on tests from us to see if they are ready for the challenges ahead. If they succeed, like your Pokémon, they'll evolve and become stronger." Clayf then goes down to their level as well, "Should you join this cause, just know this, your Pokémon will not be transformed into Bakugan." The three all have relieved looks on their faces as soon as they heard that statement. Frosch then goes to Dawn's level, "Also, you'll have to start from scratch as new brawlers."
"So, Pokemon Trainers," Apollonir addressed the three of them all at once, "Will you be willing to answer our call to brawl as Bakugan Brawlers?" Ash steps forward with fire in his eyes, "I'll answer this call." Pikachu then hops onto Ash's shoulder, also with the same confident look, "(Count me in too!)". Dawn steps back, "I want to, but I'm not sure..." Brock then lays a comforting hand on Dawn, "No need to worry, if you want to stay behind, I'll stay with you." Dawn looks at a ribbon that she pulled out of her pocket. She looks sad at first, but soon she turns confident, "Mom, my dream of being a Top Coordinator is still in my mind, but helping people and saving the world is the right thing to do." She then turns to face the Ancient Warriors, "I'll do it!" Brock then steps forward as well, "Count me in. We are a team and we'll help you." The Warriors of Vestroia then open their arms to embrace the trainers' help. The three soon join together to open a portal involving the same symbols found on the card. Apollonir then says to the three trainers, "We will have the other brawlers complete their tests first. Good Luck, we are counting on you." The three trainers then run through the portal and leave their homeworld behind, they are about to become the part of something greater. A new story has begun for Ash, Brock, and Dawn, once Pokémon Trainers, now the newest members of the resistance known as... The Bakugan Battle Brawlers!
What are you gonna do?
The odds are stacked against you
Back against the wall
Gotta give it your all
This is the final stand
The power is in your hand
Two worlds collide
On the inside
You gotta fight for what's right
Before it's gone... all gone
THIS IS BAKUGAN!
