It's evening in Wardington, and the focus is now on a three-story house, where there is an extra company inside. The house itself is sleek and it is very comfortable inside. "Ash...," a female voice says quietly, "Ash? Are you Ok?" Ash's eyes slowly open up to where the voice was. As he looks around at the mysterious room, he notices Dawn pop into his view. Ash has a small white towel on his head, it still looks fresh and damp. Dawn looks at him as Ash looks at his most recently made friend. Pikachu then jumps on the bed, joining Ash's side, getting a nuzzle from Ash in response.
"Hey there, Pikachu", Ash groggily says to his buddy before turning to Dawn, Piplup, and Brock, "Man, it's awesome to see you guys, what happened?" As he slowly sits up, he notices the towel on his head, still a little damp. Then, Ash looks around to understand his new and strange surroundings. In the current bedroom, when Ash looks to his right, there is a closed window with the moon in full view. Ash then turns to see his other friends and Pokémon on his left. Ash is also on a comfy bed, much to his surprise. The bed is bordering a wall that has a tucked-in photo album, with a photo of Dan and his friends together. Across from one end of the bed are a red guitar and a gigantic entertainment center holding a plethora of items. These items include a stereo system, a selection of books, and CDs. Across from the bed are a computer monitor and desktop, with a webcam attached, used for calls with some other users.
"Geez," Ash says as he is rubbing the back of his head, "What happened? One second, we were going to the area where one of Bakugan Battle Brawlers lives, and then the next... I blacked out." Brock then steps forward, heading to Ash's level, "When we entered the new area through the portal, you have gotten so dizzy, you blacked out." Ash is understandably even more confused, then Dawn turns to Ash after Brock finishes his piece. "After that, we took you to this house. The nice woman that lives here helped us with taking care of you. That's when you woke up and here we are." "She must be one nice person to hook us up with this," Ash says looking at his friends and best buddy.
"Hey, who is the nice person that-," Ash says as he is curious to meet this kind woman, before they are interrupted by a soft knock at the door. Then, a female's voice comes from the other side of the door, "Hello? May I come in?" Dawn acknowledges the call, "Yes, you can come in, Ms. Kuso. Our friend is waking up." The Pokémon just barely make it underneath the bed as the bedroom door then opens up. From the door, out comes a brown-haired, young woman. As she is holding a tray, she wears a white shirt with an orange border. Also, her blue jeans and her white socks, are a little stained. "Oh, I see that you've woken up," the woman says with a relieved smile. "How are you feeling?" Ash sits up slowly, as he looks at the woman, "I could be better, but I could be worse... and who are you?" She introduces herself as she sets the tray down near Ash, "My name is Miyoko Kuso. Your friends told me about your condition. I just thought I'd come in here with some soup and try to warm you up." Ash then carefully pulls the tray and takes a few sips of the soup. "Wow. This is good. Thanks, Ms. Kuso." Ash says to her gratefully. "Oh please, Ash," she blushes, "Call me Miyoko." Everyone smiles as she reminds them of the people that they have helped and vice versa. This would also include helping out their own families and each other's family as well.
"You know," Miyoko says to the young trainer, "You remind me of my son, Dan Kuso." "How so, Miyoko?" Ash says intrigued by her response. "Dan's always ready for an adventure. He even talks and goes about adventuring with his friends," Miyoko then gets teary as she explains, "But... one day, Dan didn't come home... I hoped that he was OK, but I started to get worried... I just miss my Dan..." She then lets out a sigh of sadness as a few of her tears come from her face.
Ash, Dawn, and Brock look at each other, with concerned looks on their faces. At the same moment, Piplup and Pikachu look from their little hiding places underneath the bed, also with the same expressions on their faces. Ash then speaks up, "Miyoko, you did so much for me and my friends, we'll help you." As Miyoko looks up, Dawn then places an assuring hand on her right shoulder, "I know how you feel, Ms. Kuso, I'll help out too." Brock then steps up, "I have brothers and sisters too, so I know what you are feeling. I'll help you out too." Miyoko then looks up, with some tears in her eyes, at the three young people, "Thank you, all. I do appreciate everyone's help." Miyoko wipes her tears off her face and then notices two unknown shapes to her. "Oh?", Miyoko says as Pikachu and Piplup pop their entire bodies out of the bed, "Who are these two little things?" The Pokémon each have sudden worried expressions as they have been discovered.
The three trainers look at each other, with unsure looks as they weren't sure how to approach this. However, they each have confident looks on their faces, ready to tell her. "You see, that's our Pokémon," Ash says to Dan's mother, who has her eyes fixed on both unusual creatures, "This Mouse-Like Pokemon, is my best buddy Pikachu." "(Hello, Ms. Kuso!)", Pikachu says to the young lady. Dawn then brings Piplup onto her lap, "This is one of my friends, my penguin-like Pokémon's name is Piplup. Say "Hi"." Piplup then motions his right flipper and salutes Miyoko. She then looks up in amazement at the trainers and then back to them, "Wow, I didn't know that these creatures exist." "I guess that you are from a different world, just like the Bakugan that came here to ours," Miyoko says while looking curiously at the new creatures. "They are so cute, may I hold them, please?," Miyoko says to the three trainers with intriguing eyes. As they nod, Brock approaches her with a warning, "It's fine, just be gentle with them, they are living creatures after all." He gets a nod of assurance from Daniel's mom, as Pikachu hops onto her lap first. She strokes his back and head, getting smiles and comfort from Ash's first Pokémon. Piplup then joins the embrace as he gets the same gentle strokes from Miyoko. "You guys sure are cute and amazing," Miyoko says to them, getting smiles and a hug from the two, "You three sure know how to raise them like family." The three blush as their hard work was being appreciated by someone from a different world.
As everyone smiles, Dawn then looks up at the clock that's near the bed, "Oh, sorry to interrupt, Ms. Kuso," Dawn says to Miyoko, "It's almost dark... can we please leave?" Miyoko, at first, turns her head to face them, but then hears a door opening from the downstairs area, "Tell ya what, you guys can sleep in the living room tonight, I have someone at the door." She then proceeds to exit the room, Pikachu then heads out and proceeds to peek his head around the stairs, "(Ms. Kuso? Could that be your son, Dan?)" Miyoko looks down at Pikachu and then over to the door. "I... don't know... I think so...", she says shocked and full of emotion. Pikachu then heads back to the group, "(I'll leave you to it. I'll tell Ash and the others.)".
As she gets closer to the main entrance, he sees a young man putting away a key. The young man, is in fact, Dan Kuso. Dan turns around and sees his mother, red in the face, "Surprise, I gotcha, I'm home," as Dan blushes, Miyoko quickly goes over to Dan and hugs him, shedding out her emotions. Dan then wraps his arms around her, "I missed you, Mom. Don't cry." Pikachu heard the crying and peeked his head and thinks, "(Another Mother and Child Moment, it still tears me up to this day)". Pikachu looks at the two, seeing the bond between them, and reminiscing about the bond between him and Ash, as well as the relationship with Delia, Ash's Mom, and her son, Ash. "(I guess, despite being in another world, there are still amazing emotions and bonds as well.)", Pikachu says as he looks at the continuing embrace.
