It's been a shocking night for Miyoko Kuso and how could it not be? After taking in Ash and his friends, she is now embracing her son, Dan Kuso after his disappearance. Miyoko then lifts her head from Dan's right shoulder and looks at her son, leftover tears in her eyes. "Oh... my Dan... where have you been? I really missed you..." Dan then looks at his mother with a relieved smile "It's a long story, Mom. I am just glad to be back home. Is everything alright with you?" She nods her head and says, "Yes, Dan, I just had take in some visitors. They said that they wanted to see you and the rest of your friends." Dan has a look of confusion on his face, "Visitors? This late in the day?" Soon, there is a patter of steps from the stairs, causing Dan to turn around. "What is that?", Dan says with worry as he spots something black and yellow up the stairs. "It's alright, Pikachu, you can come on down," Miyoko announces as Pikachu heads down the stairs and comes up to meet Dan. The brawler turns to face the new and unknown face that's before him. "Wow, I've never seen that creature before." Dan then turns his head to his mom, "Where did you find this little rat?" At that word, Pikachu shows an irritated look and his cheeks spark in anger, "(Hey! Watch it... I'm not a rat...)" Dan then looks in fear, "I'm sorry! I won't call you a rat nor a pest for that matter!" Pikachu's cheeks stop crackling as he then shows Dan a happy smile, "(It's ok. Just don't do it again)." Miyoko tells Dan, "It's a Pikachu, he is a Pokémon, it's not of this world." Dan is surprised as he reaches a hand for his right cheek. As he strokes Pikachu, Dan is surprised how soft he is and Pikachu blushes as he's being petted. "He came with our visitors. Please follow us, hopefully, you don't mind if we used your room." Pikachu hops onto Miyoko's right shoulder and they all go upstairs. "Wow, this little guy is quite easy-going," Dan explains as he heads up the stairs, bracing himself for who's inside.
Miyoko then opens the door a little crack and then calls out , "Hey, are you guys still awake?" "Yes, Ms. Kuso, we are still here and awake," Ash answers. "Is there someone that you want us to meet, Ms Kuso?," Dawn asking next through the crack. She then proceeds to open the door. Dan has a shocked look on his face and in his mind, he has so many questions. The trainers then made room for the young mother and now, her son. "Everyone, this is my son, Daniel Kuso," Miyoko introduces to the trainers, "Dan, meet our visitors." "Hello, Dan, I'm Ash Ketchum," the young trainer says as he then points to Pikachu, "And I see that you've already met my best buddy, Pikachu." Pikachu then hops from Miyoko's shoulder to Dan, who does lay in his lap with a smile. "It's nice to know that your best buddy is on our good side," Dan admits as he gets a giggle from Ash's best friend. "It's very nice to meet you, Dan," Dawn says as Dan looks at her now, "My name's Dawn and this is my Number 1 partner, Piplup." As her Piplup heads over to Dan, Pikachu makes room for him and the penguin salutes him causing Dan to blush a bit. "Wow, another new creature that's on our side," the brawler says as he smiles at the trainers. "The name's Brock, it's an honor to meet you as well," Brock says to the young boy. Dan is in awe of the new people, "Wow, it's nice to meet you all. I am surprised that you are even here. I just have so many questions."
First, Ash and his friends explain their situation and the world that they come from. Ash, Dawn, and Brock come from a world where people and creatures called Pokémon live together. Pokémon like Ash's Pikachu and Dawn's Piplup can be studied, raised, and can battle with others. As the trainers explain, Dan and Miyoko are intrigued and interested in what the three are explaining. "Wow, I wish we can see other creatures other than our Bakugan," Dan admits. Miyoko then asks Dan, "Speaking of the Bakugan, what happened with you? I was getting worried about you." Dan then explains his side of his story. When Dan and his friends first found about the Bakugan, they thought it was at first, just a cool game. However, that theory of being just a game, was a mistake. As it turns out, their world and the world of the Bakugan, known as Vestroia, were in danger. As Dan explains, in Vestroia, there were the six worlds, one of each element that Bakugan can come from. Those elements, were Fire, Earth, Light, Darkness, Water, and Wind. In addition to those six attributed worlds, there is a center of the dimension that has two cores. There is one of positive energy, the Infinity Core, and one of negative energy, the Silent Core. It was peace and balance until one fateful day for the Bakugan, until one Bakugan known as Naga, decided to go for the cores for himself.
Unfortunately, he failed to absorb and caused a catastrophic turn of events. First, Vestroia's individual worlds would be turned into chaos. Next, the Infinity core went to the human world by unknown forces. After that, the Bakugan came to the human world through the cards. Ultimately, Dan and his friends agreed to stop any evil and save the two worlds. It took almost no time to figure out who were enemies of against Dan and his friends. One of those they battled against, was one of Naga's agents, a Darkus Attributed brawler known and feared as Masquerade. He sent out other potential brawlers to become agents and to help Naga. To show them their allegiance to him, Masquerade each gave them a forbidden item known as the Doom Card. Once the card has been played, the stakes in the brawl would go high. This is because if the opposing brawler loses a battle, whatever Bakugan that they used, it is sent to a graveyard-like dimension, known as the Doom Dimension. When Dan battled Masquerade one time, he lost at the last round, and since he couldn't see his best buddy, Drago, go into the Doom Dimension all by himself, he jumped in after his friend.
Soon, Dan's friends, wanting to rescue Dan, found their way into the Doom Dimension and agreed to help the Six Ancient Warriors of Vestroia, some of which, Ash and his friends have met to get to Dan's world. They each had to pass a test to get over past obstacles or current situations and have their Bakugan, like Pokémon, evolve into a more powerful form. Dan, in one previous brawl, had already evolved Drago from a normal Pyrus Dragonoid, into a Pyrus Delta Dragonoid. His new test from Apollonir, was this: Dan needs to defeat each of his Battle Brawler friends to have Drago not only evolve, but also to have Drago become an Ultimate Bakugan. "I know that the brawlers are up for the challenge, we can take 'em," Dan says confidently, "With the help of our Bakugan, I know we can't lose."
"Dan, you sure have a big task ahead of you," Ash says to the brawler, "We need to prepare for our battles too." Dawn then stands up, "I bet that like our Pokémon, the Bakugan are your friends." Dan then shakes his head, "Of course, Dawn. The Bakugan ARE my friends and I'd do anything for a friend." The trainers all nod as they agree with Dan's statement about making friends and doing anything for them. "Still, I dunno what I was thinking," Dan says sheepishly, "I must be going bonkers if I expect you guys to believe a story like that." "I believe, and I bet they do too," chimed Miyoko, who gets a surprised look from her son, "Cmon, Dan, I am your mother, remember?" Dan thanks her as Ash and his friends all confirm that they were on Dan's side. A deep voice then comes from a ball that opens up to reveal a miniature dragon between Dan and his Mom, "You're very lucky to have your mom and new friends on your side, Dan." Pikachu then hops off of Dan's lap to get closer to the Bakugan. As Pikachu placed his right hand under the Bakugan, Drago, could feel his balance disturbed. "Huh? Whoa... what are you..." The trainers and even Miyoko are impressed as the mother now has Drago in her right hand. "Wow, this one's got quite a deep voice!", Miyoko says looking at Drago. Ash then chimes in, "I heard him too!" Dawn and Brock nod their heads in approval. "What?," Drago says in shock, "Does that mean that you all can hear me?" "For real?", Dan says also in shock, getting a "For real!" response from his mom. "Well, how about you guys? Whaddya say that we can get together and I'll show ya how to play?" The trainers all agreed and Pikachu and Piplup hop onto their respective trainer's shoulders. They each put their hands together and together they shout, "BAKUGAN BRAWL!" As the trainers sleep downstairs, Dan and Drago stay in the bedroom, with Drago looking up at the moon. "Hmm... if these kids have Pokémon with them," Drago thinks as Dan sleeps soundly, "I don't know how the other Brawlers will react..."
It was a hectic night for Ash, Brock, and Dawn, as they were transported to Wardington because of a new adventure. However, it was more hectic for Miyoko, as she was reunited with her son, Dan Kuso. They each slept in their respective places and hopefully, get some much-needed sleep. Hopefully, by the new day, they could prepare for the trials and tribulations ahead. Soon, it was morning and Pikachu was the first to notice the morning sun. He groggily opened his eyes and yawned after the nice long rest and then sniffs the air. "(Is that, food?)", Pikachu thinks with a smile. After getting up, Pikachu puts the rest of the blanket on his trainer, Ash. Then, he hops down from the couch and heads for the kitchen. As Pikachu goes to the kitchen, he sees Miyoko cooking something. "Oh, hey, Pikachu," she says whilst stirring the contents in the pot, "I'm just making some breakfast for all of us. You can even wake up Dan if you want to." Pikachu shakes his head as he then comes near the staircase.
As Pikachu looks towards Ash with a happy smile, he looks upwards to a sound that's coming down. Then, he sees a ball coming to him hopping down said stairs. The ball is actually Dan's Bakugan Partner, Drago. As he opens up, revealing his creature ball form, he does move closer to talk to Pikachu. "Good Morning, Pikachu," Drago whispered, "I'm surprised you're up, Daniel is not up yet, I'd just thought I'd come and see you and your fellow "Trainers" as you call them." Pikachu blushes as Drago talks to the electric mouse. He has talked with other Pokémon like Dawn's Piplup, but never before has he talked to a Bakugan. Despite this, not even Drago, nor Pikachu himself, never would expect what happened next. "Jeez, Drago, I'm surprised that you're up early-", Pikachu unknowingly says before cupping his mouth in shock. Drago jumped back in quiet shock, "Did you just talk?" Pikachu shook his head, "I... Even I can't believe it...", the mouse says quietly, trying not to disturb the sleeping people, "I guess, since I'm not of this world like you, I can fully talk." Pikachu suddenly has a grin on his face, which soon turns into a mischievous smile. "What's with the smile, Pikachu?" Drago says unsure of what's going on, "You look like you're up to something..." Pikachu then turns to Drago and quietly explains the plan. "Normally, what I usually do is I shoot my Thunderbolt at Ash. That would wake him up." Drago moves his head "Yes", then asks, "OK, but what are you gonna do instead of shocking him, literally?" Pikachu then turns to Ash, who was still asleep and gives a thumbs up to the Pyrus Bakugan.
Pikachu then jumps up and shouts out to his trainer friends, "Wake up, Sleepyheads!" At Pikachu's shout, Ash quickly shoots up and opens up his eyes. He then looks around and Dawn, then Brock soon wakes up after Ash. "Who was that?" Ash says as he looks around for the sound. "Ash? What was that? And whatever it was, I heard it too.", Dawn says as she straightens out her hair. Brock then says groggily, "I think you guys were dreaming. I didn't hear it." Ash soon looks around before looking down at Pikachu with a look of confusion on his face, "It can't be you, Pikachu, was it?" Pikachu looks at Ash, before saying to his face, "Yep! It was me, Ash!" The three trainers have their jaws dropped, as they couldn't believe that Ash's Pikachu talked. "Pikachu?," Ash said after a little while, "You can talk?" "Certainly can, my friend!", Pikachu says as he jumps into an adoring hug. Ash is understandably stunned, but happy to see Pikachu. Dawn then looks down at her waking Piplup, "Are you hearing this too, Piplup?" The penguin rubs his eyes and shakes his body as he "Dawn? Do you have to be so loud?," Piplup says slowly. Everyone looks towards Piplup now, Dawn then grabs Piplup and hugs him happily, "I can't believe that you are talking, too!"
Soon, each of the trainers' stomachs growl, "My, my, are we hungry, this morning," Drago says to the trainers as he comes up to Pikachu's head. "Dan's Mom is making breakfast, Pikachu and I are going to wake up Dan." Ash winks at Pikachu, "You know what to do." Pikachu then smiles and together, he and Drago and head up to Dan's Room. Inside, Dan is still sound asleep, as Pikachu tiptoes his way up to the bed. Together, as Drago tells his partner, "Wake Up, Dan!", Pikachu goes, "Alarm Clock Shock!", as Pikachu zaps Dan with a blast of electricity. Dan, shoots up and squirms, getting zapped with the blast. "OK, I'm up...," Dan says as he is still holding onto the blanket, with electricity crackling on parts of his body. He turns his head to Drago and Pikachu, "Oh, it was you two?" "It was mostly Ash's Pikachu, Daniel.", Drago says as Pikachu shakes his head. "Morning, Dan. Your Mom is cooking up breakfast for us!", the mouse says to him with a smile. "OK, let them know that I'm on the way, and when we are done...," Dan says to Pikachu whilst he messes his hair, "It'll be Bakugan School for your friends!" After having breakfast, the group heads out the front door of the house, as Dan leads the trainers to a local park. As the fountain shoots out water on this particularly sunny day, the pigeons fly away as the Pokémon ask him if this is the place. "Well, you guys, this is the place, and look who's also here!" He points to two men sitting on a bench, talking about something. On the left, is a man about nineteen years of age, despite having green eyes, and black boots, he wears mostly blue for his clothing. On the 19-year-olds' right shoulder is a blue Bakugan, which looks like a mermaid when opened up. On the right side of the bench is another man, younger than the dressed man, he is more casual with his clothes. "Hey! Joe, Klaus!" Dan calls out as he sees the other boys turn to see him and the trainers. "So you have arrived," Klaus admits. "Thanks again for helping us out," Dan says, thanking the two boys for something. As the trainers step forward, Klaus and Joe shake hands as they introduce themselves. "The name's Klaus, I've become a rival for some of Dan's friends and it's a pleasure to meet you," the older man says as he bows in respect. The younger man, Joe, not only presents them with cards, but also gives them his introductions as well. Now that they've acquainted with the three trainers and their Pokémon, Dan asks the trio a very important question. "Shall we begin Brawler school?" Everyone shakes their heads as Joe and Klaus hand each of the trainers a couple of boxes and a special card. Now, led by Dan and the others, the trainers take out their special cards and say three words that would begin this new journey.
"BAKUGAN, FIELD OPEN!"
