Chapter 1 - The new Sun rises part 1

It is the middle of the night, with bars and restaurants in swing, as groups of friends and business colleagues enter and exit various establishments. A group of young adults are walking down a canal path. They have clearly been drinking, with a few of them stumbling as they walk. There is a near-even mix of people in the group, five men, and 4 women. "Dude, slow down. You don't want to fall into the canal again." One of the men calls out to the drunkard ahead of the group. Two members are very close to each other, one of them having their arm over their shoulder, "See, I told you, you'd enjoy yourself tonight." "Okay, I can admit when you're right. Now come on. I know a good karaoke bar not far from here."

The group is loud and merry. Their high spirits make them noticeable targets for what lurks in the dark. As the group continues to walk down the pathway beside the metal fence blocking the canal, one of the men in the group stumbles slightly, tripping over on an uneven brick in the path. The stumble makes their wallet fall out of their pocket. Lucky for them, they notice it moving from their pocket and brush their thigh as it falls. "Hang up, I need to pick up my wallet," they say softly, more tired than drunk as they hunch down to pick up the wallet. Some distance is made between the group and the sole guy. As he reaches out to pick up the wallet, what looks like a snake creep out between the metal bars in the fence and bites down on his bare arm. The guy tries to scream out in pain from the bite when another, much larger snakehead springs out and bites him on the neck, making his scream for help turn into a whimper.

One member of the group turns around but doesn't see the man. The darkness makes it hard for her to see the pile of dust that now sits on the floor. "Hey, where did Kenji go?" She asks, trying to get the attention of someone else in the group. The majority of the group turn around, also confused as to the ambience of their friend. The drunkard in front is still ahead of the group, but hears his friend, and turns around. "What was that.." As the drunkard speaks, leaping over the barrier is a tall, humanoid creature. Their skin looks more like scales than flesh, and their hair appears to be a set of small snakes in the style of dreadlocks. This creature grabs the drunkard's mouth to stop their talking before letting multiple of the snakeheads bite down on the man. A thick venom starts to be unleashed into the poor man. His body starts to dissolve, turning into a heavy pile of black dust.

One of the girls in the group turns back around to see the drunkard start to turn into dust, and screams. The rest of the group turns to see the monster kill their friend. They begin to panic, preparing to run and call for help. The monster just snaps its fingers. As if on command, a small horde of monsters leap over the barrier and grab the rest of the group, separating them. They look almost like the snake creature, except with less detail, and blank black faces. These new creatures cover the group's mouths, stopping them from screaming. "Apologise for the rough reception. But you forced my hand in seeing me. I was hoping to just pick you off one at a time." The snake creature speaks elegantly as if they were an intellectual. "I hope you can find it in yourselves to forgive me. But a monster has to feed."

"You've had enough for this evening." A voice calls out from behind the monster. The creature turns around to give it notice, seeing a tall figure standing underneath the light of a streetlamp. The figure stands there, their hazy eyes staring down the snake creature. "Had enough? With you here, I just added another item to the menu." The snake creature rebuttals. "No. I was too late to save the two you had, but I won't allow you to continue any further." The figure's voice sounds powerful, stoic and full of warmth. "Stop talking." The snake creature snaps its fingers again, sending two of their henchmen to grab him.

As the two monsters try to rush the figure in the light, they pull out a strange device and slap it just above their waist. The device sprouts a strap that attaches itself to the figure like a belt. From their shirt pocket, the figure pulls out a small yellow statue. The snake creature looks shocked, even taking a step back, "An idol?" The figure pushes the idol into the device and twists it, connecting it to the device as a voice calls out from it, "Lion!" A musical jingle starts to play as the figure raises their hands, posing before calling out, "Henshin!" They throw their hands down, hitting the device, pushing down a button on the side that triggers something as the two monsters lunge at the figure. The idol is set vertical in the device as a bright light starts to emit from the figure. This bright light was enough to utterly destroy the two monsters, turning them into ash. It was as if the sun was rising. As the light settles down, the figure is wearing a special kind of armour. Black and yellow with variations of orange and red for accents. The helmet, despite the buggy green eyes, is shaped to resemble a lion motif. The snake creature has changed its attitude from confident, to fearful, their words stuttering, "Kamen Rider…Idol..."

The creature looks around panicked, seeing their henchmen standing around, clearly unaware of the danger. "What are you doing?" The creature shouts at them, gesturing towards Idol, "We can feed later, but for now, get him!" The mooks let go of the captured group and start charging at Kamen Rider Idol. The group of youths run away to safety.

Kamen Rider Idol just starts to walk forward slowly as the mooks start to crowd him. One of the mocks tries to attack him, swinging their arm towards their face, dagger-like knives at the end of each tip on their fingers. Idol is quick to step back, avoiding the attack. They grab the mook by the arm, and toss them over their shoulder, making them hit their back on the barrier. Another tries to get near him to attack, but Idol subdues them with a rapid barrage of punches in their torso, aiming for the chest and stomach. Idol leaps off the ground slightly, and kicks out, hitting the mook in the chest, causing them to stammer back into the same barrier. As Idol descends back to the ground, they spot a third mook preparing to attack them from the side. They twist their body to punch them in the face, knocking them off balance, making them trip. Another mook starts to charge closer as Idol lands on the ground. Still, in their twisted, kneeling pose, they leap back, twisting their body back around to kick the mook in the face, hitting them with their leg.

The mook that Idol punched grabs their arm, trying to prevent him from using the same arm. Idol struggles to pull their arm back. Idol pulls their arm, making some space between the mook and their arm. The space is enough to unfold a pair of razor-sharp claws. Idol swings their arm back, slashing at the mook. Three lines are made across their chest. A blinding warm light seeps out of the class marks. The mook's body starts to crack up around the attack, growing the light bigger before the mook erupts into a bright light, turning the body to ash. Idol pulls another set of claws on the other arm, and swipes at the mook closest to him, slashing their face. The same three lines appear, followed by the golden cracks and the explosion of light. Idol runs forward, and attacks with both arms, slashing six lines in the mook across the chest. Idol turns around as that mook explodes behind them to focus on the recovering mooks they already fought. With a few more swings of their arms, the remaining mooks are defeated, going up in golden light.

Kamen Rider Idol turns back to see the snake creature as the last monster standing. As they turn around, however, their arm is immediately attacked by several snake heads, all biting down on his arm. "I'll admit, you had me nervous for a moment," the creature mocks, coming closer, showing that the snakes came from the dreads in their hair, "But that was mostly due to your look. You're not the real Idol, just a sham. But no matter. I should take great joy in being the one to kill the great Kamen Rider Idol again…" Golden sparks start to emit from the snakeheads, the heads turn to stone before being reduced to rubble. A large jolt of light passes through the snakes as they turn to dust, clearly hurting the creature, leaving them with only half of their snakes.

"I am the real Idol. And I refuse to allow you, Fallen, to endanger my city." Idol looks unphased, the snake bites did nothing to him. "No! Just die and be my next meal!" The snake Fallen drops their elegant facade and lunges the rest of their snakes at Idol. Quick to defend themself, Idol slashes the air with their claws, slicing at the snakeheads that come close. The Fallen pulls back, keeping only a small amount of their snakeheads. With only one last ace in the hole, the monster starts to clench its stomach. It begins to take shape, morphing into something else. "Surprise!" From out of their stomach, emerges a large anaconda appendage.

The snakehead lunges towards Idol, and he manages to grab it. Idol clenches their hands down on the snake, trying to prevent it from opening its mouth. The snake Fallen starts to laugh, "You can take on smaller mouths, but you can't handle an anaconda like this." Idol starts to lift the head up closer to his face before slamming their own face into the snake, headbutting the snakehead. The head becomes dazed, making it lose focus. Idol starts to shake the snake before throwing it above him. Not wasting time, they use their claws to stab into the bottom of the snake and start to pull the claws along the body before using the other set of claws to slice it off. The anaconda lands on the ground as it turns to black ash on the floor.

Clearly in pain, the snake Fallen recoils what is left of the anaconda body into their stomach. Their eyes wide with fear, they begin to run. Turning around, they try to escape. Pulling their claws back into the arms, Idol puts his hands on the belt, and pushes the button on the other side of the belt down, standing the idol statue back up before quickly pushing the first button down to return it on its side. The Lion statue starts glowing. The yellow pattern on the armour starts to glow a golden light, their right glow becomes engulfed in this light. Idol gives chase, running after the Fallen. They jump in the air, extending their leg out in a kick. Idol slams the full force of their kick into the Fallen's back. Their body starts to crack on contact as their body starts to be filled with a bright golden light. Idol flips backwards, landing in a beastly pose. The snake Fallen starts clawing at their body, screaming in agony before they explode like the rest, turning into molten ash on the ground.

Idol adjusts himself, standing up straight. He puts his hands on the device, and pushes the left button down, flipping the idol horizontal. He twists the idol before pulling it out of the belt, disengaging the armour, returning to normal. They take in a deep breath, pushing their back out in a stretch, "Ah!" He straightens back up and puts his hands on his hips, pleased with himself. "That's another Fallen dealt with. Although we lost two people, we at least saved the rest." He says, thinking out loud as he removes the belt from his waist, and pockets it. At that moment his pocket starts to vibrate, followed by a catchy, musically tune. His phone is ringing. He pulls his phone out and answers it, seeing the name on the screen come up as 'Auntie'.

He takes in a deep breath before answering, preparing himself for what is to come, "Hello?" He says, his voice coming as innocent. "Itosasaki Jiro!" The voice on the other end of the phone calls out, screaming down their ear, "Where are you?" Jiro moves the phone away from his ear as she screams down the microphone before pulling it back to talk, "I was out for a walk, and heard someone scream. There was another Fallen attack, and I had to step in." The voice on the other end goes quiet for a second, "Okay. Tell me about it when you get back home, until then, get back here now, you still need to try on the new suit for tomorrow's event. You know your mother won't forgive you if you miss your own birthday." Jiro nods instinctively, "Right, okay. I'll see you in a few minutes. Later, auntie." He quickly hangs up the phone before immediately sprinting back down the street. He is unaware that he is being watched by a figure in black, holding an idol, resembling a cobra.
