Chapter 3 - The new Sun rises part 3

Under the light of the moon, the people of the city are scattered in fear as Fallen starts running amuck in the street. Members of the police department have shown up on the scene and have tried to keep the situation calm as they ever help evacuate citizens in the buildings or try to fend off the Fallens. Hanging from the lampposts are webbed-up cocoons. The silk-like texture pulses and twists as something is moving inside of it. The Fallen on the ground are mostly contemptuous of just grabbing the people they catch, holding them in restraint. A man tries to flee from an attacking Fallen but tries over the curb and falls forward. They try to get back on their feet, but a strong web grabs them by the back of their neck and pulls them into the air. They are grabbed by the Spider Fallen. Immediately after grabbing the man, it sinks its teeth into their neck, draining them. The man's body starts to turn black, before dissolving into thick powder-like dust that drops down from the sky.

The spider Fallen licks their lips, drooling a green goo before wiping their mouth. Still hungry, the Fallen takes notice of two police officers on the street. The officers are fighting tooth and nail against the Fallen, resorting to using their guns as bludgeoning tools to fight them off.

The spider Fallen leaps off the build, landing on one of the posts. Reaching its arms out, it shoots a long string of web at the two officers, only grabbing one of them with their back turned. The Fallen yanks them off the ground and towards them, greeting them with a sudden bite to the bite. The police officer was barely able to scream for help, outside of a sudden yelp from being pulled across the air. Just like with the other victims, the officer's body starts to turn black, however this time, their body starts to morph, taking shape as a low-level Fallen. Their body grows, tearing out of the officer's uniform before the spider Fallen lets go.

The Fallen that was formerly a police officer immediately charges for the last of them, tackling them into a car as they turn around. The police officer grapples with the Fallen, trying their hardest to push back, letting out small grunts as they struggle to overpower the creature.

In the distance, the faint sound of a motor can be heard. It starts getting louder, clearly coming this direction. As the noise becomes recognizable as an engine motor, a blinding light starts emitting from down the road. The engine noise becomes dangerously loud, to the point of being screamed down your ear. Hearing this, the police officer puts all their energy into one push, flinging the Fallen off them. They create just enough distance as the bike smacks straight into the Fallen, making an instant halt. The impact of the bike knocks the Fallen into the air. However, the bike was surrounded by a golden glow that passed onto the Fallen. Its body cracks up as the light seeps into it before it explodes into a blind light.

As the aura surrounding the bike disappears, it reveals Kamen Rider Idol, sitting in the driver's seat. The police officer and surviving citizens stare in awe at the sight of the rider. Idol looks around the near open road to see more Fallen bursting out of the buildings. They turn their head to face the police officer and nod, "Don't worry. I'm on your side. My light will protect you." With that, they face forward and rev their engine before speeding off again. Idol starts steering the bike into the direction of Fallen. The faster the bike runs, the more the golden glow starts to build around him. He takes a harsh turn, leaning forward on the bike to do a frontal wheelie as they turn, smacking the Fallen in the face with the bike tire. The golden aura pulses through the rubber of the tire and into the Fallen.

The Fallen explodes into light before the tire smacks back down to the concrete floor. Idol charges forward in the direction of two Fallen that is lined up with each other. He leans to his right, having the bike lean also. He pops his arm mounted claws as he passes both Fallen. In what feels like a slow-motion scene from an action movie, Idol slashes at the Fallen with the claws, hitting them across the torso. Using the momentum, he takes a sharp turn, casting himself behind the same two. On the return ride, he slashes them in the back, hitting them twice. The two Fallen explodes into light, being reduced to dust on the floor.

Idol begins to charge more energy into his bike before he is attacked. The spider Fallen swings itself towards Idol, dropkicking him with both legs off the bike. The Sunray Striker slows down before lightly crashing into a parked car. The police officer from earlier peaks their head from behind it, to see the bike. Idol lands on his back as the spider Fallen goes to grab him. Idol rolls on his side, dodging the attack, the Fallen's talon pierces the concrete, "I am really glad…I chose to move."

Idol grabs the floor and twists his legs in the air like a breakdance move to get back on his feet. Crouching lower, he frees the claws on his other arm to have both sets ready before charging. Idol tackles the spider Fallen as they pull their talon from the ground. Idol swings their arm high, only for the spider to protect itself by guarding with its forearm. The claws clash with some armour that the creature is wearing, barely making a dent on the Fallen. Pulling their arm back, they try two uses both arms to slash them across the chest. Again, the Fallen is fast enough to put up its guard, using both arms to block the claws, and then grabs Idol by the arms, pulling him close. The spider Fallen starts to wrap a thick layer of web around the hands and forearms. "You would make a tasty snack, but I'm not stupid," the Fallen declares, "I know one bite out of you, and I'd be fireworks. So, I'll have to make do with killing you the old fashion way."

Quick to respond, Idol headbutts the Fallen, making them lose their grip on their arms before trying to swipe them again. A glowing charge from the attack was enough to melt the web around the claws, freeing him from the trap. Idol tries to stab the Fallen in the chest, but the armoured padding of their torso makes the tips of the claws scrape by, making light sparks. The spider Fallen hits them with the back of their arm, smacking them back. Idol lands on their back again, "I'll be real with you. I didn't think my birthday would be like this," he says, getting back on his feet, retracting his claws. "That said, I have a legacy to fulfill, and I will not allow Fallen to ruin my city."

Idol charges in on the Fallen, changing their battle plan to use hand-to-hand combat. The two clashes, the fight going back and forth as they dodge most of the attacks, they swing at each other. The spider Fallen uses its web ability to shoot a thread at Idol's leg, and tugs it, knocking them off their feet. Idol lands beside some rubble as the spider prepares to attack with its talon again. Idol grabs a rock from beside them and tosses it in the spider's face. Now distracted, Idol tackles them, leaping off the ground to slam them into a wall.

"If I can wear them down, I might be able to finish them with a finisher, but they are too fast to hit even with my punches." Idol tries to think of a plan for dealing with the Fallen. Meanwhile, the spider gets an idea, and uses its web again, grabbing a piece of concrete on the ground, and swings it at Idol, knocking them into another parked car. "Thank you for giving me the idea of using rocks. Didn't know heroes were allowed to cheat." The spider Fallen gets in closer, extending their talons to stab Idol. "It's now or never," he thinks to himself. Idol hits the left trigger on the driver to flip the idol up, before using the right one to switch the idol on its side again, activating the finisher. His fist starts to glow, but with the Fallen getting too close, he swings his arm early, punching it in the face.

The spider Fallen is thrown off by the attack. The finisher doesn't destroy it however, instead, the burning light melted most of its face, removing two of its many eyes. Clearly in pain, the Fallen leaps off the ground to hang from a post. "Damn. I didn't have enough charge to destroy it. But at least it hurt it a little. I need to think of a new plan." Before Idol could grab a breather, more of the low-level Fallen start to gather around him, some even burst out of the cocoons, dripping with the same green goo.

Idol tries to fight them off, continuing to go hand to hand with them. His movements are slower than before, the fight with the spider Fallen had taken a toll on him. Idol pushes back against the low-level Fallen that charge him. He is able to break free from the crowd, knocking a few onto the ground. The police officer takes note of their slow movements. They start to reload their gun, preparing to enter the fight again.

A voice starts to call out from the Sunray, "Idol! Idol! What's happening?" It's Akemi. She is trying to contact Idol through the bike. The officer overhears the voice and comes out of hiding. He holds down on a green button resembling a phone icon and responds, "Akemi? This is Aikawa Genkei. Idol is engaging the Fallen, but he's outnumbered and slowing down." His voice sounds stern and focused, getting to the point of the matter. "Genkei? Oh good, glad you're keeping yourself alive. Listen, the bike is equipped with something to help Idol if the need calls for it. Hit the eject button and give it to him, I need to go run interference. Good luck." Akemi suddenly hangs up the call, leaving Genkei with his task.

Genkei starts to inspect the bike's console in search of the button Akemi mentioned. A knocked down Fallen starts to get back on their feet and spots him. With Idol busy with the horde, the lone Fallen starts to creep towards him, limping from the injuries as its cracked leg starts dissolving slowly. Genkei finds two buttons; both appear to look like the eject button. He presses the button on red, and a compartment on the bike opens, but nothing is there. He then tries the other one, opening another compartment. A handle springs out of the compartment, it looks to be a tool of some sort. Genkei grabs the handle and tries to pull it out, but the weight of the tool causes him to struggle, even breaking into a sweat. The low-level Fallen gets closer to him as he pulls more of the tool out, revealing it to be a blade. With one last pull with all of his energy, he pulls the sword from the bike, lifting it up in the air. However, the weight of the sword causes him to quickly lower his arms behind him, but it suddenly stops as an instant crack of solid rock is heard behind him. Genkei turns around to see that the tip of the sword has landed in the face of the Fallen. Cracks start to spread across their face as they fall to their knees. The Fallen turns to dust, dropping the sword onto the floor with a heavy thud.

Genkei grabs the sword by the handle, clearly still struggling to lift it, "Idol!" He screams from the strain of the sword's weight. Idol kicks a few Fallen away from him and turns around. He sees Genkei sprinting towards him, dragging the sword behind him, carving the ground, "Idol! Use this!" His face has turned red, with sweat pouring down their forehead. "Uh?" Idol is confused but takes the step to approach the tired officer. Panting, Genkei hands Idol the sword by the handle. He grabs it and lifts it with ease. "You can use this to stop them, right?" Genkei asks. Before Idol could respond, he grabs Genkei by the shoulder and pulls them back, swinging the sword vertically. A Fallen tried to attack from behind, but Idol caught them. With a swing from the sword, Idol cuts the Fallen's head clean off, both pieces of the creature start to turn to dust. Two more Fallen try to tackle them, but again, using the sword in a diagonal swing, Idol cuts through both from knee to shoulder.

Genkei pulls himself back, now standing beside Idol. He turns to the officer and nods, "I don't understand what's going on, but with your help, I can save everyone." Genkei nods, "There are still people in the buildings, I need you to cover me." Idol nods, "You can trust me." With the two in agreement, Idol pushes Genkei towards one of the buildings before he charges forward, screaming like a lunatic to get the attention of the remaining Fallen. With his sword, Idol easily cuts through the low-level Fallen. Each swing is like a knife through butter, leaving no mess, save for the pile of dust and ash on the floor in their defeat. Idol uses his knowledge of their vital points and swings for them, aiming his swings towards their limbs and heads to get clean, instant kills on them. The spider Fallen is licking their wounds on the post when they finally take notice of Idol finishing off the last of the Fallen. Angry, the spider Fallen drops down from the post and screams out towards the Kamen Rider. Idol turns around, and ready his sword, watching the spider Fallen. The Fallen's scream becomes blood turning as four extra arms start to sprout from beneath their original two.

From the palm of one of their new hands, they shoot a thick web at Idol. He guards himself with the sword as the web starts to surround his torso. The spider Fallen rushes for him, but with the sword, he cuts through the web and swings for the Fallen. They dodge like before, growing longer talons from their arms. Like modern-day samurai, the two battle with bladed weapons, Idol quickly adapting to his new weapon, is able to avoid a scratch on him. The spider tries to stab Idol through the side, but they leap back, swinging their sword down. The edge of the sword hits the arm guard that blocked the claws, and tears through it, cutting the arm off. The Fallen screams in agony as Idol uses this to their advantage, swinging back up to cut off two more of their hands. Idol leaps into the air, both hands on his sword as he intends to cut the Fallen down from the middle. Using four of their remaining arms, they try to guard the attack, but on contact, the weight of the sword pulls the blade down. Facing resistance, the sword breaks through the guard and cuts through the four arms. The Fallen moves back to above a killing blow but still takes the attack to the face, cutting through their eye, leaving a bright golden light emitting from their body. Idol lands on the ground crouching and tries to swing again, but only manages to catch the Fallen barely in the stomach.

Their body starts to shake from fear, the spider uses their last hand to shoot a web at Idol's face. He is momentarily blinded before he uses the heat from the sword to melt the substance from his face. When his vision returns, he watches as the Fallen tries to leap into the air, using their one arm left to provers the buildings. Genkei exits one of the buildings with a few citizens. He is motioning them towards the alleyway when he sees Idol running to the bike. He holsters the sword in the compartment and immediately gives chase after the spider.

It doesn't take long for Idol to catch up with the spider Fallen. Although they are adept at using their web to swing from the buildings, doing so with only one arm limits their speed in the air. The people on the pavement take notice of Idol as he blitzes past them, on the Sunray, literally on the spider's tail. Idol takes a shape turn, and breaks, skidding on the ground with one foot-dragging on the concrete. He unsheathes the sword from the bike, and pushes down the left trigger on the driver, allowing him to take out the lion idol. Pushing a button around the guard of the sword, an attachment flips out. Idol uses it to connect the lion idol to the sword and folds it. The blade of the sword starts to burn with a golden glow. Idol starts to spin the sword in the air, the light starts rising before engulfing the blade. "Pride strike!" With a swing in the air, Idol fires all of that energy in a single attack towards the spider. A large ball of flames is sent towards it. The flames take shape and form into a lion that attacks the Fallen during mid-swing. Biting down on the Fallen, it launches higher in the sky before exploding in a golden light, one that briefly lights the street as if it was the day.

Idol holsters the sword and returns the idol to the driver as he starts to hear people clapping. He lifts his head from the bike console to see the people from all walks of life around him, cheering. Under his mask, he can't help but smile, shredding a tear before putting his hands on the handle. Turning the corner, a clearly exhausted Genkei catches up to Idol, grabbing them by the shoulder. He looks over to see him standing there. "I'm not under arrest, am I?" Genkei shakes his head, gasping for breath, "No. Just to tell you, you did good, kid." Idol nods his head, feeling emotional about the situation. He tries to speak, but his voice can't help but break, "You can…you can trust me. I'll be this city's light." With that, he revs up the Sunray, and speeds off down the road, taking a turn before riding off home.

To be continued!
