Chapter 12 - Idol jumps to the sky part 1

It has been weeks since the incident at the mansion between Idol and Fang. They've had time to recover, and hopefully, learn from the experience. In the entertainment district of Taiyobe, a horde of Fallen is in the middle of their assault. The horde is led by a snake Fallen, similar to one Idol had battled before. A squad of Police officers, Genkei included have engaged the dark creatures, but to no avail on their behalf. Citizens try to barricade themselves in the arcades and shops to avoid the monsters, waiting for the police to solve the issue. With the power of the snake Fallen, any officer that gets close is either turned to dust or another low-level Fallen. It doesn't take long for Genkei to become the last man standing.

He hides behind his parked car, loading ammunition into his revolved when a Fallen climbs over the hood of the car. It tackles Genkei, but he pushed back, preventing himself from being pinned on the ground. The sound of a motorcycle can be heard accelerating towards the district. Genkei presses the gun into the Fallen's stomach and fires into it as he pushes harder. He removes himself from the monster's grasp with help from the bullets. The Fallen looks unharmed, barely a crack nor scratch on its body. The sound of the bike's engine increases until a single blast from a cannon is fired at the Fallen. The one-shot reduces the Fallen's head to debris as it falls to the ground.

Genkei turns towards the source. A sense of relief fills him as Kamen Rider Idol leaps over the parked cars, riding the Sunray Striker, one hand holding the Lion Cannon. Idol lands on the other side of the police barricade. He turns and skids his bike, throwing his arm out with the finger on the trigger. With the Lion cannon, he opens fire on the Fallen. One by one, the low-level Fallen fall down, being reduced to black ash and scorched marks on the pavement.

With no more of the weaker Fallen, leaving only the snake, Idol holsters the cannon in the bike and retrieves his sword. He steps off the bike, laying the clear side of the sword on his shoulder like a bat. "Didn't I already fight you?" he asks, his voice sounding confident and sure. The Fallen looks unamused, "They warned me about you," they hissed at Idol, preparing to attack, "I will not fall like my previous incarnation." "We'll see," sword tightly grasped in both hands, Idol charges towards the snake. The snake Fallen smiles. Its arms start to inflate, growing in size and length. The hands explode as large snakeheads burst out of the stump of each arm. Idol stops running as the two large snakes lung for him. "What the..," Idol leaps out of the way of the fight one, swinging his sword at their face as he is struck down by the second.

The second head tries to attack him as he lays on the ground. Idol rolls to his side, avoiding the attack. He swings his sword as he gets back on his feet, knocking back one of the heads. "You couldn't do this before!" He calls out. "You didn't have a sword, bike, or gun in our first encounter," they hiss back. With Idol briefly distracted, one of the snake arms wraps around him, keeping his arms to his side. Idol is lifted off the ground, dropping his sword in the process. "I'm going to enjoy thisss," the Fallen said gleefully as the second head raised itself. Goo drools out of the snakehead's mouth as it blares its fangs towards Idol. The reflection of it in Idol's eyes grows as he prepares to lunge itself at him.

The tension is broken as a stray blast flies through the air. It passes Idol's feet as he flies towards the snake Fallen. It is struck in the stomach, passing through it, making a sizeable hole. Cracks form around the hole as the Fallen screams in pain. Idol turns to see Genkei lying on top of the Striker, clutching the cannon in his arms, "Hey kid. You didn't tell me about the kickback." Due to the pain, the grip the snake arm has on Idol begins to loosen. He slips through, landing on his feet. He grabs his sword from off the ground and swings upwards, cutting the head off the snake arm. Before the other head could attack, Idol throws his sword over his shoulder. The point pierces the snakehead, pushing it back.

Idol puts his hands on the driver and triggers his finisher. The golden aura starts to build up, becoming more vibrant and alive around his body. As if the sun was behind his back, Idol starts to run towards the Fallen. The aura takes shape of a lion around him as he increases speed. He leaps in the air and extends his leg out in a kick. Idol slams his right foot into the Fallen's chest before doing a backflip away from it. The aura is shot into the Fallen through the kick. The golden light erupts inside of the monster's body. The light spreads through cracks along its arms. The Fallen explodes into golden flames as Idol lands on the ground. His sword is shot out of the snake's head and pierces the ground by his feet.

Idol takes his sword and walks over to Genkei. One by one, citizens barricaded in the shops and stands peering out into the street, upon seeing the remains of the Fallen. Idol reaches his hand out and picks Genkei up from his bike, casually taking the Lion cannon from his arms. "How many did we lose?" Idol asks, sheathing his weapons into his bike. "My team managed to get everyone we could see inside the buildings, but we lost a few good men because of that snake." Idol puts his hand on Genkei's shoulder, "Your men saved the lives of many today, yourself included." Idol tries to reassure the officer before mounting his bike.

"Oh, wait, kid," Genkei stops Idol before he can ride off, "We've been investigating some strange Fallen sightings. Nothing concrete just yet, but we might have a possible lead on where a few of them might be coming from." Idol turns to them, "Anything I can help with now?" Genkei shakes his head, "Not yet. If I do find something, I'll make sure Akemi is in the loop, and she can tell you." Genkei takes a moment to think, scratching his cheek, "It's strange. We haven't had to deal with them for 2 weeks, and then a horde appears from nowhere. Good thing we have you kid." Idol starts to rev his engine, "I'm more concerned about how they can recreate defeated Fallen. I remember fighting that snake before, but it was stronger here than before. I'll need to look into that," Idol points his bike out of the blockage, "Be well, Genkei." With that last word, Idol speeds off down the road as more people exit their safe-havens. Genkei watches him leave, rubbing the 5 o'clock shadow on his face.
