im doing this instead of sleeping, hope at least someone gets a good read out of this T-T

The sun was shining oddly bright making him squint right after opening his eyes, the curtains were shaking vigorously from the open window, he'd forgotten to close it before going to sleep.

The dark haired boy had a habit of stargazing lately; lately being the past 2 years, even if he knew that not a single night would compare to that of the night he spent stargazing with a certain king.

It crushed his spirit to admit his feelings of camaraderie might've turned into something else, something he couldn't control or suppress much longer; that being the reason why when his daydreaming sessions were cut short he felt annoyed, unlike himself, and although not accepting them hasn't stopped him from formulating a plan to go forth on them, he knew he would have to confront reality at some point.

He slowly got up from the bed and groggily rubbed his eyes.

While passing by on the corridor Lucy saw him, immediately hiding the shell in her dress pocket, he thought he might've been hallucinating when he saw the shell shining brightly from the insides, but pretended not to see anything at last.

"Oh Edmund! good morning! the eggs are ready for breakfast, i'll get down stairs and help Aunt Peony with the table" she said quickly while looking at various spots on the house to avoid eye contact with her older brother.

"Where's Eustace?" he said while firmly looking at her

"uhm... still sleeping" she tried to walk a step towards the stairs but edmund moved forward at the same time "i think" she said while holding her hands high as if she was caught stealing.

He raised an eyebrow but instantly knew what to do "Well, then let's get him up so we can all help on the table" he grabbed her wrist and started walking towards Eustace's room.

When he opened the door he indeed saw his cousin lying on his mattress, sleeping peacefully. He shook him by the shoulder to wake him up but when he didn't succeed he opted for a swift slap to the face, satisfactory and effective.

After the Pevensie's cousin woke up, disoriented and confused as to why his left cheek stung, Lucy's pocket started shining even brighter through the clothes.

"so... about that" she said slowly while pointing at her clothes "I think this is our way to narnia, "me and Eustace still get a chance i believe" she threw an apologetic smile for Edmund while sitting down on Eustace's bed.

Both boys stared at her too stunned to speak, with no words to say while the shining and the wind from the window started getting stronger each second. She saw as the wood on the walls were breaking off of its structure and everything in the room turned into chaos, furniture flying across the room and untidy clothes on the floor quickly vanishing through the window, Eustace quickly held her hand and saw Edmund turning blurrier, but at the last second before the shinning of the shell became unbearable, he saw a figure jumping towards them and holding tightly to Lucy's legs as they started... floating? suspending in the air? he couldn't exactly describe it.

They felt the strong wind through their clothes almost painfully, trying to open their eyes was useless as the pain came from a sand storm that they were caught in; falling, short sleeves really weren't a good choice for today.

When the fall came to an end in an abrupt meeting with the ground the three teens tried to find shelter, not before complaining from the fall and the unkind weather.

"Eustace! let go of my legs we must find a safer place to hide!" Lucy yelled while fighting the grip on her lower half.

"Oh god! sorry that's me Lucy! i'm Ed! i got through i can't believe it!" he screamed while laughing in joy, his plan was roughly believing in good luck and good judging, of Aslan that is.

"What?! then where's Eustace! i can't find him!"

"I believe he's under me but he's not moving, might've passed out from the shock?" Edmund tried not to sound anxious, he was the responsible adult there, but quickly felt relief through his body when he heard the familiar screams of distaste that Eustace usually made at any minor inconvenience.

" What?! What's going on! Lucy! i was just sleepin and you bring me here again?! fascinating!" the blond boy yelled while wiggling his way out from under his cousin.

"You shouldn't be out here at these hours alone kids." they all heard a young man's voice in the distance, until he got close enough to let his mid length brown hair be seen from under the clothes he was wearing.

Edmund fell into a daze, waiting for this moment for so long didn't prepare him for it actually happening, he was speechless, surely a friendship like this would be worth fighting for, surely.

"Caspian! it's been so long!" exclaimed Lucy while jumping to her feet to hug the king lifting herself with her tiptoes, "if it's not much bother could you please tell us where we are and where we could find a spot to hide from the sand storm??"

"we must find it quickly my hair cannot be damaged more than it's already been from this, it is unacceptable." Eustace was once again rambling on while Lucy helped her brother get up from the ground, still stunned by the king's appearance.

"Well this isn't exactly a sand storm but yes we must get out of here as quickly as possible" he said while handing them pieces of fabric to cover up their faces and guided them towards what looked like a beach, or the border of a deserted island to be more precise.

After looking at the mess that was occurring on the middle of the island from afar, they quickly realized it was in fact not a sand storm, various elongated figures moving from under the sand to at least ten meters and going back in, like giant snakes or... sandworms. They were so fast some you would even think were just hallucinations.

"The latest conflict we've had, i'm glad to see you around again or else i wouldn't know how to deal with them on my own" exhaled the king while placing both hands resting on his hips, he was wearing a long black cloak-like garment to shield his skin from the violent wind and sand.

Edmund, still dumbfounded, exclaimed "Yes! I- we- were glad to see you again too" while trying to hide a smile. He thought his admiration for the king must've been stronger than he'd thought, but still within a normal range, surely.

"Well Edmund The Just... i thought i'd never see you again!" Caspian took the cloak away from his face and pulled the dark haired Pevensie into a tight embrace, brotherhood exuding from his mannerisms; making Edmund feel guilty for feeling his heart rate going faster at the faint familiar smell that was almost forgotten by him, the strong arms around his figure felt swift as the hug was short ended.

His face, slightly redder than when he'd arrived, was quickly turned away from the king, too embarrassed to admit what consequences the older's actions had in him with one look, or one smile.

Lucy shared a knowing look with Eustace, although in london this might've been looked down upon, it was less of an issue for narnians.

"alright let's get to the boat, we must get to Telmar and right now we're on the far islands of Calormen, not too far" he chuckled at his own joke while guiding them to the boat.

~~

"So you've just arrived huh?" Caspian asked after guiding the three teenagers to his office in the dawn treader "must've been a rough welcoming"

"Yeah we really have no idea of what was going on on that island, could you fill us in on that?" Edmund asked while looking at the king.

"You really would like that wouldn't you Edmund" Eustace laughed while cocking an eyebrow towards Lucy.

Edmund quickly got offended and defensively crossed his arms on his chest as if shielding himself from the accusations.

"Oh get bent! i was just asking!"

"You're the one who wants to get bent not me darling" the blond said with wittiness

"Enough! just tell us about the islands Caspian, please" the girl exhaled tiredly. Caspian ignored the small quarrel given that most of the expressions he didn't understand, let alone jokes like 'getting bent'.

"Well the islands were invaded by orcs, and we've heard from the Archenland kingdom that they were breeding some creatures capable of wiping away cities in seconds, turns out it was true.." the telmar uttered while walking towards the large window "I am now on my way to confirm the rumors and ask for a meeting with court to decide our next step on this, we must assure a plan for this as quickly as possible, the orcs are greedy in nature and with creatures like those only Aslan knows what's they might do"

"We will help on anything we can but first we need to get to narnia and see the state of our troops, how many years have passed here since our last visit?" the dark haired boy questioned and almost tripped from the turbulence of the ship, a strong hand stabilizing his body was what cut his attention from the conversation, the hand lingered on his arm, or time itself stopped for him to enjoy the moment, he couldn't tell the difference.

"Edmund! Ed! Ed!" the younger sister repeated until her brother came back to reality "he said just two years, same as in london"

"oh! well then not much must've changed right?" he exclaimed with a hesitant smile.

"Yes, narnia has been quite in order and peace since you've left, but we were all constantly aware of your absence" Caspian said almost whispering the last sentence.

"I hope you have good baths and chambers in your land, i reek of sweat and misery from that island, ergh" Eustace sneered breaking the atmosphere of longing that the Telmar king designed.
