Earthbound and it's characters belong to HAL Laboratories and Nintendo.

It was certainly a strange day for Ness, from the meteorite crashing down, him stopping a gang, to saving a girl named Paula from an insane cult, and helping a jazz group out of debt. Now they were stopping a zombie invasion, All in a grand quest to stop an evil alien life-form named "Giygas"

The two were stuck in a dark pit after a lady with little clothes lured them into a trap in the hotel as Paula contacted another one of the chosen kids to save them. Some kid named Jeff. He didn't know him but that sounded like it belonged to someone nerdy. Ness had no choice but to sit down, fidgeting around with his baseball bat as he waited for him to come.

What kind of person would wear little clothes on such a cold night like this anyways? Shouldn't she be wearing a coat or something? Hours passed, it was certainly cold down there and it was especially boring for two kids like them. They didn't really have anything to pass time. After what felt like an eternity of pure silence, Ness finally said something. "Is there anything you like to do in your free time?"

"When I'm not playing with the other kids at school, I like to draw." She said, "What do you like to do in your free time?"

"Well, when I'm not practicing my baseball skills, I mostly play games on my Super Nintendo. There's this cool one called Earthbound, ever heard of it? It's pretty neat, it gives me a sense of deja vu when I think about it."

He watched her face light up as he kept talking about the game, even if she wasn't really interested, something about it really reminded her of the adventures they had up to that point. "I'm in a part where the main characters are stopping a zombie invasion, they just met a guy who's the son of a famous inventor."

Time passed once more, every few seconds they felt their fingers growing numb and they didn't have anything to talk about. They were growing a bit hungry by this point, stomach growling, he couldn't wait to get freed by that boy again.

"Did you bring any food?" Ness said as he dug around his backpack only to find nothing.

"I only brought a Bread Roll, we could share it if you want to."

"Sure." She handed him the Roll and watched him tear the plastic off the bag and take a bite out of it, savoring his first taste of food in a long while. It was good, so good! If this was a game, his life would certainly be maxed out.

"Are you OK? You haven't eaten in a while." She said

"My mom never lets us eat junk food," Ness replied.

"You don't need to worry about that anymore since we're on this journey," She explained before digging around in her own backpack, pulling out a packet of cookies, and handing it to him. "Here, that's the last thing I have."

Another hour passed by, barely anything seemed to change. Was it day? or night? This city seems to be stuck in eternal night-time anyway. The lights were dim, the rocky ground emitting a strange purple light of origins unknown. "Y'know, I miss my dad. He's been pretty absent for the last month or two due to some overseas work. I occasionally talk to him through the phone, but it isn't the same as in person." Ness spoke up.

"You must love him a lot," She replied as she watched Ness chewed on the last cookie, a smile forming on his lips as he thought about his father. "Guess I do."

¡BOOOOM!

Suddenly, a strange airship crashed down. It had the shape of a UFO adorned with small circular windows and a tiny propeller on top. Of course, it was hard to tell as there was only rubble in its place. From which, emerged a blonde haired boy with a bowl-cut, spouting glasses and a green school uniform. "Man, oh, man, did that ever scare me! The Sky Runner, I guess it took a little damage while landing."

"You must be Jeff right?" Paula Said.

"You don't have to explain a thing, I heard your voice in my dreams. So I knew I had to come." Jeff continued. "C'mon, I'll get you two out of here."

He proceeded to insert a strange machine, a Bad Key Machine he called it. It instantly unlocked the metal door, allowing them to exit, much to their relief as they had waited too long to leave the pit and they had been worried about being trapped inside there forever. That was that, at the end of the day, they still had a Zombie invasion to take care of.

THE END.
