What should have really happened during S02E05 "The Green Muse"? Jilliam!

Conclusive Experience

William was on Julia. He kissed her wherever he could. This woman was driving him crazy. Ever since he met her, he couldn't stop thinking about her. He had waited too long to realize that he was in love with the young woman. He had waited too long to ask her out on a date.

Murdoch was on a touchy business these days. He had entrusted George with an important mission, while he was having an "experience" of his own. In reality, he did not need to drink this absinthe. He just thought it would give him courage with the one he loved.

It was absurd, right? A very upright, serious Catholic. A man who never drank. For no occasion. A man who, according to his colleagues, never did anything wrong. And yet he was there, in a park in the middle of the night. He was lying on top of the woman he loved, kissing her madly on the neck, having misused the bottle of absinthe he had brought.

He wanted to make love to her. He was no longer thinking. He did not want to think anymore. He had thought way too much his whole life. He always had to analyze everything. He always needed to be sure of everything. He couldn't get into unthoughtful things. That is what made him a good detective. He was Inspector William Murdoch after all.

William's thoughts wandered as he lifted his head to look at Julia's face. Julia Ogden. Dr Ogden. How could such a woman even want him? She looked him in the eyes with tenderness. She gently caressed his left cheek.

Julia had sensed that William was thinking of something else. He had slowed down in his kisses. They were less lively.

"Is everything okay William?" she then asked softly.

"Yes." he replied simply, still looking at her.

"You seem..."

"You are beautiful." suddenly interrupted the inspector.

Julia knew they had abused the absinthe. But she also knew that William was sincere.

"William." she blushed, facing the look of this man.

When William had offered to make this picnic, she had first been surprised. Why would he want to picnic with her to find out the results of the tests he had asked her to do? All he had to do was to ask her when they were ready, as he had always done. But then, William had somehow tried to invite her on a kind of tryst. What she understood and accepted immediately, even before he finished his sentence. She had explained to her sister Ruby, a few weeks earlier, that she hated being rushed when it came to the inspector. And it was true. She had always had a soft spot for him. For his impressive physique, intelligence, and quick-wittedness. She had never been able to have such conversations with anyone else.

You could tell that, when she met him, when she was hired as Toronto's Station 4 coroner, she fell in love with him. Certainly unrequited, since at the time he was engaged to Liza. She had made up her mind. Then his fiancée died of tuberculosis. And William had, after a long period of mourning, come very close to her. She could never figure out what he was thinking. Sometimes it was confusing.

But now he was there. On her. Once they started kissing, they lost all sense of reality. William lay on top of her and undid the top of her garment so he could kiss her lower. Julia had thought she was going to faint from his care.

"Julia, I want you." William looked Julia in the eyes.

Julia was still blushing at the audacity of her inspector. She had felt against her the proof of his excitement. She had to admit that she felt the same way.

"I want you too, William." she sighed in a whisper.

Hearing this, William leaned down and continued to kiss her upper chest. Julia ran her hands through William's silky hair. She felt him lift her skirt a little and ran his hands inside, down her legs, then up her thighs. Julia sighed and shivered.

William was going mad to hear her sigh. He wanted to hear more. Why had he waited so long before touching her? Before kissing her? She was stroking his hair as he tried to undo more of her top, revealing her corset.

"William."

The inspector looked up at Julia.

"I don't want you to regret it."

William looked at Julia without really understanding what she was saying to him. Why would he regret loving her?

"You are very religious, William. I can imagine you're saving yourself for the wedding. You are drunk and…"

"Julia. It does not matter."

"What do you mean?" Julia frowned and pulled herself up into a sitting position.

"It doesn't matter because you are my future, Julia." William said sincerely, his eyes misty with the romantic moment.

Hearing this, Julia kissed him fiercely. William lay down and Julia came to lie on top of him. They were in a park, but what did it matter to Julia. She had already been arrested for public indecency when she was young. It wasn't a deserted park in the middle of the night that was going to stop her.

Julia passionately kissed William's neck. She unbuttoned most of his top and continued to kiss him.

William had placed his hands on Julia's hips. Then, he let them slip to raise her petticoats. William kissed Julia again, before placing her gently under him. He lowered his pants and underwear a little to release his excitement. He freed the doctor from her constraints, they looked into each other's eyes, then William felt surrounded by Julia's femininity. He couldn't keep his eyes open as the sensation was intense.

Julia moaned, closing her eyes. William had buried his head in her neck and was not moving. He needed to understand what was happening to him and she understood. But she didn't know if she was going to last much longer without him moving. Then, William grabbed Julia's hands and put them alongside the young woman. He kissed her neck before he started moving inside her for the first time. Julia moaned again; she couldn't think anymore. The couple continued their dance which changed to a frantic pace for a few moments, then collapsed when they reached their climax simultaneously.

William lay down on the blanket again and took Julia with him. They stayed like that for a few minutes, without moving, just staring at the stars. They no longer felt the effects of the alcohol. They felt good and happy.

William was still in shock from what had just happened. He had made love to Julia Ogden. A woman who had been constantly haunting his thoughts for years now.

After a while, William sat down quietly, causing Julia to do the same. He looked at her and kissed her softly.

"We better go home. We're both working tomorrow, and I need to contact George."

"You are right. It is extremely late." Julia smiles.

When William reported to Station 4 the next morning, he had a terrible headache. His eyes were strangely sensitive to light, and he wondered if Julia felt the same way.

He had walked her home. They had said goodnight shyly after what had happened between them in the park. Then, finally, they kissed passionately. If it hadn't been so late, and if their reasons hadn't taken over, they would have started making love again for the rest of the night.

He hoped to be able to speak to Julia this morning about what had happened the day before.

Murdoch walked to Brackenreid's office, where he had a brief discussion with him about the conclusive "experience" he had conducted the day before. He briefly laughed at him, but William did not dwell on it.

As William stood in his office, the blinds drawn due to his headache, someone knocked on the door and entered. He looked up and saw Julia. His face immediately lit up at the presence of the young woman.

"Excuse me Inspector, I came to bring you Webster's toxicology results." Julia said, approaching where William was sitting.

The inspector got up and stood next to Julia, where she had opened the files on his desk.

"We found laudanum in his blood. In such great concentration that he could only be unconscious when he hanged himself." declared the doctor.

"Anyway, the experience we took part in yesterday made me realize that something had indeed been added to the bottle of absinthe." Murdoch began. "We almost drank the entire bottle last night, while the one we found at the crime scene was barely touched. Couldn't have put anyone to sleep, could it?"

"Indeed. This explains that." concludes Julia.

"Thank you, Doctor."

"My pleasure, Inspector."

William and Julia looked into each other's eyes for a moment before the doctor began to put away her files. She didn't have time to close them before William grabbed her by the waist and spun her around so that she was wedged between the desk and him. Then he kissed her. Julia placed her hands around his neck and happily kissed him back. The inspector moved a little away from Julia and took her hands.

"Julia, I wanted to go back to what I told you yesterday."

"Oh, yes I understand, you didn't mean it." the young woman looked down.

" No!" William exclaimed, bringing Julia's face closer to his. "I meant every word I said to you yesterday. But things shouldn't have happened that way. I find it difficult to express my feelings, Julia."

"Well, you're not the only one hiding how you feel, William." declared the young woman sincerely.

The inspector smiled at the doctor's words.

"I liked Liza. But, despite all the opportunities we had, we were saving ourselves for marriage. With you, I couldn't. It was impossible for me to resist. »

"It's because you were drunk..." Julia began.

"No." William cut in. "That wasn't it, Julia. I can't think when you are here. I can't think. I've never loved anyone like I love you."

Julia was blushing more and more at the information that was gradually reaching her brain. The understanding of what William was saying went through her in an electric way. He loved her. And he loved her like he had never loved anyone, not even his late fiancée.

"William…I love you too. Like I've never loved anyone."

Detective William Murdoch beamed at Julia's statement. They kissed passionately again. William threw Julia's open file on the floor and lifted the young woman onto the desk. He raised her petticoats a little so he could get between her legs and get closer to her.

Thomas Brackenreid had had a pretty good start to the morning. Nothing extraordinary. But finally, the only thing that stood out was Murdoch's announcement of his "conclusive" experience with absinthe. Inspector Murdoch had been drinking alcohol? Well, this day could still hold surprises for him.

Margaret often spoke to him about Inspector Murdoch. She seemed to find him fascinating, and she couldn't stand Thomas making fun of him. It must be said that the inspector always succeeded in everything. Sometimes he was jealous of the man. And yet he was the Chief Inspector of this Station.

While being in his thoughts and sipping his coffee, Thomas was at the window of his office. He watched his men busy at work. Then, he saw Doctor Ogden enter the Station and walk towards Murdoch's office with the blinds closed. The inspector smiles. These two were giving him a hard time. They were as smart as each other and as stubborn as each other. They were crazy about each other but neither of them dared to take the first step. And yet, Brackenreid had tried to do certain things. The last time, he had offered two tickets to Murdoch for a gala, for example. Turns out they went together after all. But Thomas had noticed that nothing had changed between them. He didn't understand what they were waiting for. Murdoch should take his courage in both hands. Being in the same room with those two was almost unbearable.

Brackenreid was cut short in his thoughts by a very brief phone call. The Chief Inspector walked quickly to Murdoch's office. He opened the office door in one gulp and instantly regretted it. Brackenreid froze in place for a moment and quickly turned with a gasp. He had just seen the inspector and the doctor kissing passionately. The woman had been sitting on the desk while the inspector had been between her legs. Luckily for Brackenreid, they were fully clothed and just kissing.

The two lovers had quivered when the door opened. Julia had jumped off the desk, quickly rearranging her clothes to look presentable. Murdoch was just stuck in place. He watched Julia quickly exit the office, apologizing to the Chief Inspector, her eyes lowered.

Brackenreid watched her until she disappeared from the Station. Then, he slowly turned back to Murdoch who was flushed with embarrassment. Thomas smiled in understanding, despite everything. That would be a story for him to tell Margaret tonight.

Thomas approached Murdoch and patted him on the back while laughing.

"Well, my old man. It wasn't too soon. Now I understand what you meant by "conclusive experience.""
