Jamie absentmindedly tapped his pencil on the cool desk. He could feel 20 sets of eyes burning into his back. He had been dealing with looks from everyone all day. All his peers either awkwardly gave him the "I heard about your sister...sorry for your loss" speech, or just avoided talking to him and stared at him with a sad expression, as if looking at a poor little puppy. He absolutely hated it. The only person in the entire school who didn't treat Jamie like he was about to break, was Jason. Jason seemed to not care at all, talking to him like nothing happened and mentioning his sister briefly and coldy, every time earning a punch on the arm from Amanda or a glare from Kat. Jamie much rathered Jason's blunt handling of the situation than everyone else's.

The bell rang, immediately followed by 20 chairs screeching on the linoleum floor, causing Mr. Collins to shout over the commotion. He was saying something about homework, but Jamie didn't care enough to try to listen.

He grabbed his things and rushed out among the crowd. Amanda tried to get his attention in the hall, but he didn't notice her. There were more important things at stake.

Jamie threw on a sweater and biked off. He smirked a little, excited to see Mr. Afton's sorry ass behind bars. He was so happy in fact, that when he arrived at the police station's parking lot, he skipped a little as he walked.

A woman with curly dark red hair sat at the front desk, click-clacking away at a typewriter. He cleared his throat a little so she'd notice him. She looked up with a smile, met his eyes, then frowned.

"What d'ya need, kid?" She asked in a bothered tone.

"I need to talk to one of the officers, I think he said his name was Luis? He's investigating a family matter."

"Oh, he's not here right now, sorry."

"Well...do you know when he will be here?"

"I don't know," she responded, then returned her attention to the typewriter.

"Thanks for the help" Jamie said, having a hard time keeping his tone sincere. He started to leave when the door of an office opened and he recognized the man talking inside of it. It was officer Luis. The woman at the desk seemed unbothered by the fact that she had just been caught blatantly lying.

The officer was comforting a weeping woman, reassuring her that he'd fix the issue. After he walked the woman out, Jamie walked up to him and asked "Did you get him?"

"Huh?" officer Luis asked wearing a clueless expression.

"Mr. Afton, did you arrest him?"

"Oh, uh, listen, we couldn't keep him here. His wife confirmed that he was at home with her the entire time. The guy's innocent."

"Wait, what? His wife is lying! I know it was him, I'm sure!"

"You hit your head pretty bad. I'm not sure your memory is the most reliant source."

"No I'm sure! You have to arrest him!"

"We don't have any evidence. I'll keep investigating, but as far as I know, the guy is clean."

"But-"

"Now I have a situation to look into, and you should be heading home for dinner."

Jamie tried to interject, but officer Luis just went back into his office and locked the door.

"You got somewhere to be, boy?" The woman at the desk said, gesturing towards the door.

Unbelievable.

Jamie rang the doorbell and waited a few moments at the front door, admiring the fancy sign it held.

"122 Elprup Rd. - Myers Family"

Not long after, a stocky man with a mustache peppered with gray hairs opened the door.

"Can I help you?" He said in a deep voice.

"Are you Joe Myers?"

"Yes, why?"

"It's about Danny..." At that, the mans expression immediately softened, and he ushered the boy inside.

A woman and a girl around Jamie's age sat at the dining table, looking at Jamie curiously.

"This boy is here about Danny." Mr. Myers explained.

The woman, Jamie assumed to be Mrs. Myers, got up and pulled out a chair, saying, "Oh, please sit down."

"Um, thank you..."

"Would you like anything to drink?" The woman was trying to be polite, but Jamie could tell she was in a rush to hear what he had to say.

"I'm alright." Jamie paused, not sure how to start. "I read about your son...I'm sorry."

They all remained silent.

The girl finally broke the silence, "You're the Jamie boy right? You live down the street from us in that little yellow house?"

Jamie nodded.

"I heard about what happened..."

"What are you talking about Melissa?" Mr. Myers questioned.

Jamie explained for her, "I lost my sister too... I think they might be related."

"What do you mean?" Mrs. Myers now asked.

"I lost my sister at the pizzeria, and later that night I found-" Jamie took a breath to keep his composure, "-I found her jacket in the backroom...there was blood, too much for her to be...alive."

The woman held a hand at her heart and gave Jamie that look.

"Your son was last seen outside the pizzeria, I think...maybe it was the same person?"

"You mean some whacknut is hiding out at a pizzeria and just killing kids?" Mr. Myers asked bluntly.

"I...I don't know, but it's all I have to work with. I want to find the guy who did this and I thought you might know something that would help."

"I'm sorry but...none of us saw anything."

"All we know is that one of Melissa's friends saw him outside the diner." Mr. Myers said, nodding at his silent daughter.

"That's what I feared," Jamie said with disappointment.

"I'm sorry we couldn't be of any help...if you or your parents need anything, just call us."

"Thanks" Jamie stood up and started for the door.

Melissa got up as well, saying, "Why don't I walk you out."

The girl followed him outside, before saying, "I wanted to talk to you out here...without my parents."

She sat down on the porch steps, and Jamie followed suit.

"The night that it happened...I was supposed to pick Danny up from the diner. I was at a party that my parents didn't know about and I lost track of time...it's my fault he's..." Melissa trailed off, staring at the ground with guilt.

"It's not your fault."

Melissa snapped back, "Yes, it is!" Tears were starting to form in her eyes.

"I was working at the diner when my sister went missing. I was supposed to be keeping my eye on her but...I got distracted and by the time the party was over, she was gone. I had known she was missing for hours but I just assumed that she was with her friends...I have a hard time not constantly feeling like if I had said something earlier, if I had just paid better attention, she'd still be here."

Jamie took a deep breath, "The point is I could blame myself all day, but I wasn't the guy who held the knife, and neither were you."

"I guess so..."

"I didn't want to ask your parents, because they probably wouldn't believe me, but do you happen to know a Mr. Afton?"

"The guy who owns Fredbear's?"

"Yeah."

"I never really spent much time around him, but my parents liked him a lot. Why?"

"Did you see him at all the night it happened?"

"...now that you mention it, yeah, I guess so. I ran into him on my way inside the diner."

"Did he say anything?"

"No, nothing."

"Well, did he look weird? Was he carrying anything?"

"Um, I'm not sure, it was dark out. I think he had a bag of clothes with him. I guess thats kinda weird, I mean, the laundromat is normally closed by then."

"Thank you so much," Jamie said, getting up and starting down the porch steps.

"Wait, you think he did it?"

"I know he did, I just needed more proof."
