William sat in the car, waiting. He watched as the man left his house, started his car, and began backing out of his driveway. William gripped the wheel and began to drive. He sped up, timing it perfectly. The man's car just got out of the driveway as William's collided into the side of it. He stopped the car and approached the man's window, assessing the damage. The driver's door was bent in on his legs, crushing them, and blood was dripping from the man's left arm.

William ripped open the car door and rolled up his sleeves. He grabbed the man by his shirt and tugged once. The man let out a loud yell of pain. William tried again, grabbing the man with both hands and pulling him out of the car with more force, ignoring the even worse cries coming from the man. William threw him against the side of the car and held a knife at his throat. The man looked terrified. There was more blood gushing from his legs. William had to practically hold the guy up to keep him from falling.

Will pulled out a bottle of vodka from his bag. "Drink this or I'll chop you to bloody bits."

The man hesitated, still in shock. Will set the man down on the paved road. He rested his shoe on the large gash on the man's leg and stepped on it, receiving another agonized shriek. The man writhed in pain under his foot.

William handed him the bottle, and he complied. The man stopped after only a couple sips.

"The whole thing."

The man looked at him, bewildered. William raised his foot again, and the man began chugging. He only stopped every once in a while to breathe between swallows. He sounded like he was drowning on it.

Will stood there for a bit, listening to the man drinking and looking out into the dark night. No one was around.

After the man finished the bottle, William once again held the knife to his throat and spoke in a lethal tone, "Now, Jacob Collins, after drinking an entire bottle of vodka, you decided to get in your car around 10pm and sped out of the driveway, crashing into me. Right?"

The alcohol was already gripping the man after drinking so much so fast. He replied, his words a little slurred, "y-yes."

"Good." William dropped the man and returned into his car. He popped his trunk and grabbed a bag of clothes, and started changing into them in the middle of the street. The only witness being the crippled man laying on the ground.

Jamie tapped his fingers on the center console, listening to the hum of the engine. Jason was driving him, Amanda, and Kat to school. Kat was the only one awake enough to make conversation, and she was currently trying to study for World History with Amanda. Amanda merely responded with grunts and mumbles.

When they arrived at the school, the two boys split from the group and headed to their first period: Algebra. As Jamie took his seat, he leaned towards Jason's desk. "I think Afton has killed someone before."

"Huh?"

Jamie grumbled in frustration and glanced around before repeating himself louder. "Afton, I think he's killed before."

"Sorry bro, you gotta talk a little louder, I think I'm still high right now."

"Jesus Jason, I think Afton killed another kid!" Jamie shouted, immediately regretting announcing that to the entire room.

A couple kids paused their conversations to look at Jamie, but luckily everyone was too tired to care. Jason smirked and said with a chuckle, "I dunno, I feel like that was still pretty quiet."

"Listen jerk, I'm being serious!"

"Alright, alright! So, what, you think the guy is like killing people for fun or something?"

"Yes, and I think he might do it again if we don't do something about it."

As if summoned by Jamie and Jason's conversation, a tall figure in a shirt and tie entered the classroom. William.

"Holy crap!!! It's him! It's the guy! Haha, Jamie look!"Jason blurted out, laughing a little too loudly.

"Yeah no sh*t, Sherlock. God, you have to stop smoking in the morning," Jamie said, attempting to hush his friend's laughter.

William put his bag on the teacher's desk and stared at the boys, keeping a smirk on his face. "Good morning class. Mr. Collins is out today and I will be subbing for him." He approached the chalkboard and wrote "Mr. Afton" in big, cursive letters. "I'm Mr. Afton. Don't think that just because you have a sub means you don't have to do any work. And before anyone thinks about any funny-business-" the man paused to look directly at Jamie, "-just know that Mr. Collins has given me permission to give you f's on your assignments."

"Now, any questions?" William asked, looking around. One student, Jack Neal, raised his hand. "Good." William sat at the teacher's desk, ignoring him.

Jack, regardless, asked, "Why is Mr. Collins out?"

William turned a friendly smile towards him and replied, "He had a bit of an...accident that landed him in the hospital."

"What happened?"

"Well class, your teacher decided it was a brilliant idea to down an entire bottle of vodka and take a drive around town in his mustang."

William's last comment caused a mixture of reactions in the students between laughter and concern.

"Will he be okay?" A girl now asked.

"Do I look like a doctor to you? His legs were crushed, he'll probably be stuck in a wheelchair or something."

William seemed no longer interested in the conversation, and began passing out worksheets for the class to do. "Now, I want you all to complete this worksheet by the end of class. This is going to be graded on completion. However, if I hear you talking, I'll assume that you're done and grade it on accuracy."

The students began working quietly, and William sat at his desk sipping his tea. Every time Jamie looked up from his paper, William was scanning the room from his seat. He looked like he was having fun.

Jason leaned over his desk and whispered, "So are we just not gonna talk about the fact that your sister's murderer is teaching us algebra?"

"Shut the f*ck up" Jamie harshly replied.

Immediately after, William's voice rang through the room again, "James."

Crap.

"Come here. And bring your paper with you."

Jamie had barely got to answer half of the questions. On a normal day, he'd be upset about getting an F. But right now, all he had was hatred towards William. He wanted to throw that stupid cup of tea in his face.

"You remember what I said at the beginning of class, don't you?"

Jamie remained silent.

"Hand it over. Now."

Jamie tossed it on the desk and returned to his seat with a grumble.

After staring darts at William for 45 minutes, the period was finally over and Jamie left. He headed to his next class, walking fast. Jason ran after him.

"Hey, Jamie! Listen, I'm sorry."

"Whatever."

"God, why do you have to be so b*tchy! I said I was sorry, okay?"

Jamie walked faster.

"I'll make it up to you."

"And how are you going to do that?"

"You hate Mr. Afton, right?"

"As much as you can hate a cold blooded murderer."

"Okay, so why don't we sneak into the school later tonight and f*ck up his classroom? Play some pranks on him, y'know?"

"Don't they lock up the school at night?"

"That's never stopped me before."

"...I guess it would be nice to screw with him."

"See! Now, I need you to get some soda, just like one or two cases, but it HAS to be coke, okay? Anything else won't work. Meet me at my house at 12am." Jason started walking away and shouted, "You're gonna love it, I promise!"

Jamie checked his clock again: 11:50pm. Finally. He grabbed his bag and tip-toed downstairs, wincing at every little creak the wooden floors made. He had gotten everything Jason had asked for earlier at their nearby dollar store.

It was a perfect night for a bike ride. The street was quiet, everyone was asleep, and a nice fall breeze brushed back Jamie's hair as he pedalled. With all the lights out, he could see the stars clearly. It was so beautiful that he nearly crashed into a car because he got caught up in it.

Jamie arrived at Jason's house right on time and knocked lightly on the front door. When no one answered, he knocked again, loud and clear. There was a stirring in the house and a second later the door flung open. Jason stepped out quickly and shut it behind him.

"What the f*ck dude? You nearly woke up my old man!"

"I thought he was in New York?"

"Yeah, last week! How do you think I've been driving us to school, dumb*ss?" Jason went back in the house for a second and returned with a backpack. "Did you get everything?"

"Yeah" Jamie responded, opening his bag so Jason could see inside.

"Alright, come on," Jason moved to the car in his driveway and Jamie followed.

After gracefully breaking a window and accidentally setting off a car alarm, Jason and Jamie got into their algebra classroom.

"Alright, let's get to work."

The two boys had spent a good hour preparing pranks for William, when Jason sat down on the tiled floor and gestured for Jamie to do the same. He sat next to him, pulling his knees to his chest and checking his watch again.

"Pass me a coke, will ya?" Jason asked. Jamie passed him a can from the case.

"Thaaaaank you." Jason popped the can open and took a swig. "We did good, honest work tonight, James. I'm proud of us," he said, patting his friend on the back.

"Ha, yeah I guess so...listen I'm sorry I've been so snappy with you and the girls lately." Jamie shifted his legs nervously. "I guess I've just had a lot going on and I've been taking it out on you guys."

"Hey, it's alright. I mean, you just lost your sister. And I'm sorry too, I guess I've been kind of an *sshole to you with the whole thing, I just don't really know how else to talk to you about it."

"I guess that makes us even."

Jason grinned again. "Yup, just two *ssholes vandalizing school property."

"Sooo, what's been going on with you and Kat?"

"Huh?"

"You know, all the flirting you two do?"

"What? Nah, we're not like that. We're close friends, that's it. I just enjoy teasing her."

"Mhm, sure" Jamie responded in a doubtful tone.

"I'm serious, she's not really my...type."

"Oh yeah? And what is your type then?"

"Not her," Jason responded flatly, glancing at Jamie.

"Well that's going to really suck when she finds out you don't like her back."

"Wait wait wait, Kat likes me?"

"Yeah, it's pretty obvious. She's had a thing for you ever since you two started hanging out."

"Oh."

"Why do you sound so disappointed?"

"I dunno, I just hope that doesn't make things awkward between us. I thought we were platonic like you and Amanda."

For the first time all night, Jason remained silent. Jamie had this itching feeling that he wasn't telling him something, but ignored it. He didn't want to weird Jason out or get too nosy. Guys didn't talk about feelings, it just wasn't what they were supposed to do.

Jamie cleared his throat and spoke again, "So what are we going to do with all this soda?"

"Oh, that was just for us to drink."

"Wait, I thought you had a plan to pour it on Afton as he walks into the room or something?"

"Uhhhhh...well I guess we better get back to work, James."
