AU: Nearly everything is reversed. The heroes are villains. The villains are heroes. But history will repeat itself...

"VIOLET," A woman's voice was heard screaming at the top of her lungs through the roars of fire and chaos. This voice was owned by Caitlyn Kiramman, a woman who was cowering behind a broken pillar of a fallen Piltover building. Her eyes fell onto a sight that split her heart in two through smoke caused by gunpowder, ash and flames. She was sure that these circumstances wouldn't weaken anytime soon. But she wasn't positive that her partner and best friend would weaken in their battle. Not like this.

Laying before her on the broken concrete and rubble was a fallen Vi, her body sprawled on the ground motionless. She was sure she saw some red paint or her pink locks splattered around her head. No, who was she trying to fool?! That was blood wasn't it? The blue haired woman wanted so badly to approach her partner, but the sounds of gunfire threw her for a loop accompanied by shots embedding in the pillar she was hiding behind.

"Get out here, enforcer," Another female voice screamed out, though the voice cracked when it did. "You did this! You did all of this, so don't hide now! Take it like a champ!"

Breathing hitched in Caitlyn's throat before she could process a blur of green light passing her with a battle cry. Now throwing himself into the fray was Ekko, the leader of the firelights. Well, he used to be. But she knew that after this carnage that there would be nothing left of his personal cause. All because of that monster they were fighting. The white haired boy jumped off of his vehicle of choice, a broken down hoverboard to try and land a hit on his opponent-.

BANG!

… A shot rang in the air with the sound of a body falling onto the ground. Not long after the stray sounds, a woman screaming to the air rang through Caitlyn's ears, causing her to flinch. This scream transformed into laughter? How could she think this was funny? Who the hell did this monster think she was?!

"Oh, Caitlyn~," The woman cooed. "CAITLYN!... Where are you~?"

The female enforcer shook in horror from the calls of her name increasing and decreasing in volume. She was always a person who would persuade herself to be strong. Like her mother and father told her, she should never fear anything no matter what circumstances she found herself in. So why was she shaking like a frightened dog from her enemy? Now wasn't the time to be in this state! She had to fight back! For her fallen her parents. Her fallen friends. For Vi and all of Piltover! With that in mind for her, the enforcer smashed her teeth together in determination, readied her rifle, turned the corner and-

"Boo."

Shit! Now face to face with her foe, Caitlyn wasted no time to shoot, but her enemy flung the gun out of her hand with a swift back kick before kicking her down to the floor with all her force! Light blue eyes scanned upwards to find the cause of the destruction of Zaun and Piltover. The person who started everything from the stealing of a gemstone to the bombing that took her mother's life.

The Loose Cannon of Zaun, Jinx. Or as Vi used to call her, Powder. But Powder was dead. Clearly she was.

Instead of an innocent girl's face, Caitlyn was greeted with a psychopath with bright pink eyes glaring down at her. Instead of being greeted with the gentle touch her partner said she possessed, she felt firm hands grip her down to deliver sloppy punches. Instead of a sweet smile, all she saw was a psychopath with a killer grin at the agony she put her and everyone through.

Powder was gone. Jinx was here to stay.

"Fight back, bitch," Jinx yelled out loud in rage disguised as laughter. She got what she wanted because Caitlyn delivered a sloppy elbow to the woman in front of her before scrambling over to grab her rifle. That wasn't enough.

Instead, the woman was pushed down again, basically pinned down from her back with a gun barrel pushing into the middle of her spine. The female enforcer back slapped her enemy, proceeded to turn in their hold and smack the gun out of her captor's hold. Now this was becoming a dog fight, wasn't it?

Both women had become the embodiment of the flames and destruction that roared around them, delivering punches, kicks, slaps and headbutts to release their boiling anger. Now instead of just the crackles of fire and delayed buildings finally falling, the sounds of grunts and struggle filled the air between the two that were fighting one another to the death. Blood splattered around them, coloring the concrete red with every attack.

Eventually the human body can only take so much after adrenaline depletes. That was shown when Jinx began to hit at the air and Caitlyn basically held the loose cannon before pushing her to the ground. How long have they been fighting? How long would this keep up? All they knew is that they couldn't stop unless the other was stopped once and for all.

Jinx had to die. She had been far too gone for far too long. She killed Caitlyn's mother, and pushed a war that claimed her father's life. And now she killed innocent civilians, let alone her best friend and her sister?! She had to stop her.

Caitlyn had to die too. She took everything from Jinx. Her sister, her pride, her place and home- Everything! She wasn't a saint either, she knows she took lives in Zaun. Not that she cared though. All she cared to see was this woman dead!

So in the spur of the moment, Jinx grabbed a sharp shard of glass, ignoring the cuts that developed on her palm from the action to dash up to Caitlyn when her back was turned. And she pierced her back…

The taller woman gasped for air, nearly falling down from the impact to her back… Until she swiftly turned around to fire a shot into the shorter female's abdomen. An eye for an eye. Jinx let out a loud groan in pain, gasping for air along with the enforcer in front of her when she felt their bodies getting heavier.

The both of them fall onto the floor in a weakened state, Cailyn now on top of Jinx bleeding out with her. She didn't know why, but she heard laughter escaping from the Zaunite's mouth. Or was it sobs? She wasn't completely sure. But even if she was, her attention was focused more on her line of sight depleting slowly and her body feeling numb. Though she snapped back when she felt a cold hand reach to her back to grab almost in desperation at the fabric of her dirtied blue jacket.

The action caused her to lift her head, letting her blue eyes fall back onto pink eyes that were darkening from the lack of consciousness behind them. "Nice shot, girlie," the loose cannon coughed, raising tears in her eyes.

"You asked for this Jinx," Caitlyn barked out, her voice breaking when she realized everything that occurred and what was going to happen. Though she was surprised when her enemy was nodding as if she agreed with everything she said. "This is all your fault! Your sister is dead because of you! Ekko is dead because of you!"

"They are. Aren't they," The younger female questioned in between coughs. "What can I say? I'm a Jinx. Born a Jinx, die a Jinx…"

"Vi said you're not a Jinx," Caitlyn whispered, feeling every fiber of her body giving up on her. "I didn't believe her and I-I still don't. But if she saw something in you even after everything you've done? She must have been right…"

The neon haired woman shook her head and gave in. The tears finally began to fall down her face while watching her enemy let her head fall onto the floor underneath them. Her broken sobs echoed into the air around her with laughter at what she's caused. This was like a game to her, and it looked like she finally lost… How unfortunate…

"Hey, girlie," She breathed, thinking the woman would still be alive for a few more seconds. "I hate you, you know that?... But I won't beat around the bush… I'm happy you were there for Vi… At least she wasn't… At least she wasn't alone…"

"Don't you… Ever wonder what would have happened if we met in different circumstances," Caitlyn breathed out her last breath.

Jinx couldn't help but chuckle when she felt Caitlyn stop moving. Guess she was alone again. "No," She answered herself. "I always wonder if my life could have been… Better…" And just like that, Jinx, the Loose Cannon of Zaun, had fallen with Caitlyn Kiramman, Vi and Ekko. The war between Zaun and Piltover was over.

Here. It was.

In the midst of darkness, Caitlyn heard messages…

".yeknom yM .uoy evol I .hcum os uoy dessim I !reh hcuot t'noD .uoy evol I .yzarc elttil a gnieb htiw gnorw gnihton s'erehT .nam-racs ,dab flah ton er'uoY !retsis ym kcab em eviG .eid ot em tfel uoY .uoy evol I !em no eid t'noD"

"Hmm… I like this future quite a bit! I guess I'll make an exception for you, young soul."

Snapping her eyes open, Caitlyn found herself waking to the sound of faint bullets firing in darkness. Her eyes scanned around the darkness in panic before she felt a hand touch her. Suddenly she backed away from the body clear beside her out of fear.

"Ow," A familiar female voice called out. "Caitlyn, what was that for?"

"Who are you?! Where am I?!"

From within the nothingness released a flare from besides the woman to display a face she didn't think she would see again.

The face of-.

"Jinx?"

"W-Why would you call me that," The loose cannon questioned innocently, her now blue eyes staring in disbelief and sorrow. "My name's Powder. Remember?"

"What? W-Wait a minute-," Caitlyn questioned in bewilderment. Her eyes adjusted to the pink light in front of her to find that this was indeed Jinx. But she seemed awfully different. She realized that she had light blue eyes, lacked cloud tattoos and wore some blue rags with purple striped leg and arm warmers.

Was this really the same Jinx she knew?

"Caitlyn. Are you okay," She asked out of worry before she heard what must have been a wooden door open above them. "Oh! They're here! S-Stay down, okay?!"

"But-." Her words were stopped when she was returned back to nothingness.

"It's showtime!"

What the hell was going on here?

She needed an explanation. And now.

I have been a closet fan of Caitlyn x Jinx and obsessed with time travel lately thanks to Back to the Future and Looper.

So when I didn't see a lot of alternate universe storylines, let alone storylines with a healthy Caitlyn x Jinx, I wanted to do something.

Sooooo here you go! Thanks, love! I hope you all enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Have a good day!
