[Hey Guys! Owen here, back at it again with another chapter of our favorite rare-pair ship! In this chapter, Sunny finds her way to Sanctuary, where our favorite Skywing awaits! I'm excited to begin this chapter as I got a lot of good feedback from users. But before we mention our honorable mentions, I would like to address a couple of things.]

[The first thing I would like to address is the grammar and spelling. I heavily apologize for the early chapters' penmanship as I failed to spell-check these essays. The most notorious example would be the Clay line: "We're going to hurt you". My dumbass forgot to write not before going. I can go on with much more examples but I think you get the point.]

[The second thing I would like to address is the stilted dialogue and the excessive dump of info at the beginning chapters. I know I could've done a better job at handling this and I'm sorry about that. I hope that next time this won't be an issue and I will make sure to get some beta-readers to proofread my work. The reason why Chapters 1 and 2 had pretty crappy work was because of time. I usually work on these chapters whenever I get the chance to, including when I am at my job.]

[Now that I have gotten that off my chest, I would like to shout out my fellow critics who have so far checked out my story. Show these folks some love and a round of applause for their dedication. These G.O.A.Ts deserved it]

[Rurikredwolf- Since you called me a dude, I'm going to refer to you as my Sib, If that is all right with you. I appreciate your advice and I made sure that your words were heard. I hope I can make you proud too, I love your work Anywhere. Please make sure you give this Fanwing some love and respect. His works are amazing. In fact, Anywhere was one of the reasons I made this fic. Thank you again, my Sib. Let's hope I made this chapter a good one for Ya.]

[MisteryMaster56- Thank you for your comment. I know it may not seem like much but it made my day. I was suffering from some health problems. My job requires me to be on my feet constantly and I have to reach up to very high places. Now I may be a tall person, but I have to rely on standing and leaning on certain platforms. My ankles were in hell and we were like that all day. Your comment made me relax and stay Calm. Thank you, my friend.]

[1RandomBookworm- I know you were the first to comment about my story and you were a guest, but I do appreciate the kind words. You are not a guest in my book, but you'll always be a gigachad in my heart. I hope you stay along for the ride, pal.]

Now that's over, let's get this chapter on the roll!

If there was one thing Sunny missed during her days of adventuring, that would have to be the wind on her face.

It was an early morning evening as Sunny flew across the mountains. The sun was still rising at daybreak and the glare of the ruby-red light always reminded Sunny of how such beauty could paint Pyrrhia a picture of greatness. Sunny couldn't help herself but close her eyes and feel the warm rays radiate over her scales as if she was being bathed in sunlight.

Of course, she opened her eyes as she continued her flight across Skywing Territory. Ever since Ruby was established as Queen of The Skywings, the Skywings once again settled back into their peaceful state. Although the skies were heavily watched by onlooking patrols, Sunny was given the pass as everyone was aware of her reputation as a hero. Plus, Wren and Sky's delivery service were always passing over the Claws Of The Clouds too. The Courier system of dragons also helped with border control as they were allowed to fly over the rocky hills. A win-win for both factions.

Because of her small stature, Sunny knew it would take her a day or two to arrive at Sanctuary. It wasn't easy for her, considering that she was very petite. But she wanted to be at Sanctuary as fast as she can. She knew Sky had offered her to meet up at Valor but Sunny didn't want to bother with the notion of writing another letter and waiting for more weeks for his response, which would probably require her to write yet another letter. She didn't want to deal with the headache that came with the scheduling. Clay was right; She did need a mental health day.

So she continued to fly. She wanted to fly as fast as she could, but not without tiring herself out. The best way she could do that was to take a break somewhere, rest up for a while and continue to make her way either in the dead of night or early morning. But she had to play it smartly too. She didn't want to be at the mercy of anything horrible that lurked within the wilds.

I'll follow the river, Sunny thought. That way, it can lead me to Sanctuary at a faster rate. I know The Indestructible City is now on friendly terms with dragons but I'm not sure how they'll take a Sandwing hybrid like me flying around their walls. Best to play it safe and avoid it for now.

And so she did. The River provided its use as she was able to drink out of it whenever she was thirsty and rest whenever she felt tired of the heat. She could tolerate the heat but her body gave off more than she could chew. Well, feel in this case.

Eventually, she did make it to Sanctuary. She hugged close to the mountains once the River met its end and from her right, she knew The Diamond Spray Delta was there, miles away. It now contained a settlement of Scavengers, Mudwings, and Skywings as its location rested upon the borders of The Mud Kingdom and The Sky Kingdom. A few of the Skywing and Mudwing graduates found it a nice place to set up shop and so did a group of humans. Luckily, Queen Ruby and Queen Moorhen saw no problems between the settlement and decided to toss in their support. It also provided a trading system between Sanctuary as well. Needless to say, it was also a beneficial relationship, although the Skywings sometimes complained about the mudbaths the Mudwings relaxed in.

Sunny stopped to rest at The Delta settlement, where the Dragons happily provided. Sleeping at what was called an Inn, she gratefully fell asleep to the sounds of frogs outside, croaking their unorganized symphony and the occasional roar of a dragon spewing fire. It was rather peaceful here, despite the place growing, thanks to its success. Sunny heard tib-bits of loose conversations from Mudwings and Skywings about how the humans helped build their settlement from the ground up, thanks to their architecture knowledge. Sunny couldn't help herself but smile at the thought. At least there was peace here.

The following morning, however, was perfectly chaotic. Sunny had woken up to the loud noise of construction noises and the everyday sounds of the settlements' morning routines. Because of this, Sunny had to take moment or two to realize where she was and what she was doing. She had been so coup up at Jade Mountain, she could barely remember when was the last time she had been out and about in the world.

Stretching herself from the hay pile she had slept on, Sunny removed herself from her room and began to explore the city. It was still quite early in the morning and Sunny wanted to make sure she had energy for the day, so she began to search for food. That and to see what was the commotion about.

She didn't know where to start, but eventually Sunny began to wander around a busy street, with stalls all-around corners. It had reminded her of her time at The Scorpion Den, where she vaguely recalled the packed-tightly streets and vendors that sold bugs and Sandwing Venom Antidotes. Here the streets looked clean and the stalls weren't jammed closed together. It wasn't that bad actually. Sunny noticed that everyone was chatty and seemed to be happy. Skywings and Mudwings were sharing food and drinks and a few adult scavengers were teaching others how to play a card game. Scavenger kids and dragonets were racing in the streets, with big grins on their faces. Things were peaceful here.

"I'm going to get you, Barro!"

Shrieking gleefully in the air, Sunny heard a yell from behind her. Before she had time to react or turn around, Sunny felt the impact of someone running into her. It felt like a boulder had slammed hard into her and Sunny was wondering if the air in her lungs was knocked out. She fell to the dusty, packed earth on her shoulder and her left-wing, which pain stung her for a bit.

"Oh no!", a tiny voice called out. "Pebble, come here!"

Sunny heard the sound of scampering paws pounding on the ground. Sunny blinked away any dust that was left in her eyes as her vision began to clear up. Her body jolted upward as she felt the tiny presence of two bodies push her upward. She turned her head and noticed a Mudwing dragonet and another scavenger, this time a child.

"Are you ok, Ma'am?", the child chirped. "Sorry about us running into you. Barro and I were playing tag."

Barro, the Mudwing dragonet gave Sunny a sheepish grin. "Everyone had been telling us we should be more careful and look where we are going..."

"Yeah," Pebble answered. Sunny immediately knew who was who. Pebble, The tiny scavenger, carried tiny stones in a pouch, which was connected to his belt. He looked around 7 years old and suited the casual scavenger: Tan skin, brown shaggy hair, freckled face. He was an adorable little thing, with bright, amber eyes. Barro was the color of chestnuts but Sunny noticed a tint of maroon surrounding his scales. He reminded Sunny a little bit about Clay, although she knew no one could ever replace her big brother.

"It's ok," Sunny answered with a calming smile. "You were just playing. You should look more where you are going through."

Pebble and Barro grinned at Sunny. Such pure innocence, Sunny thought. I'm so glad that Peace resides in Pyhhria now. Everyone can enjoy these happy days.

Sunny watched as the two scampered off. However, Sunny ran into them yet again as she finally found a stall that sold roasted lizards. Apparently, the tiny human's father helped run the stand, and Pebble and Barro helped by "Running Advertisements". Sunny quite didn't understand what that meant but Pebble and Barro seemed just fine. After she said her goodbyes, Sunny made her way to Sanctuary. This time, with a full belly.

Sunny could see Wren at the front gates. Her heart quelled at the sight of her scavenger friend. Almost running into a gallop, Sunny picked Wren up into an emotional hug and she smiled as Wren returned her warm embrace.

"Hey Sun!", Wren smiled. Sun was Wren's little nickname for her. Sunny had no problem with it, as she knew it was Wren's way of affection. Wren was known for her arrogance and her tough-love attitude but after Sunny befriended her, Wren slowly warmed up. Ever since then, Sunny considered Wren one of the best humans ever.

"It's so nice to see you again, Wren! How are you doing?"

"I've been doing all right," Wren answered. "Just wish I was better, however."

Sunny suddenly gave Wren a questioning look. Nothing seemed wrong with her; She was taller now, as she was now fully grown. Her hair was now longer. There wasn't anything out of the unusual for Wren. There shouldn't be.

"Are you sure, Wren? As far I can tell, you look normal."

Wren gave off a smile. "It's... It's nothing. Just a human thing. Listen, Sky should be in the office. We've built inside one of the caverns. We have signs posted up around the place and If you need help, you can ask around. I need to go now."

"Hold up, Wren," Sunny said, blocking her path. "Are you alright? Is there anything I can do to help?"

"I'm FINE, Sunny", Wren said with a bit of a growl. "I... just have things I need to take care of. It's something I need to do. Listen, I can't tell you about it. Not yet. But I'll tell you about it soon. I promise."

Sunny knew she shouldn't be doing this, but she did trust Wren's judgment. She did have her own life, outside of being Sky's human partner, So Sunny had to respect that. She decided it was for the best to let her go, but not without fulfilling her word.

"You promise?"

"I promise," Wren answered. There was no hint of deceit in her tone.

Sunny allowed Wren to go free, but she knew something was up with her. Hopefully, Wren would come around and tell her or Sky at least. It wasn't like her to keep secrets, especially around Dragons. Sunny had faith that in time, she would learn the truth. Until then, she had to respect Wren's privacy.

Sunny turned back and watched as Wren began to make her way towards what seemed like The Indestructible City. Sunny knew she was armed with her sword, but in a time of peace, it was still a good idea to carry a weapon to defend yourself. Sunny hoped wherever Wren was going, she would be safe.

Sanctuary had expanded drastically over the years. Thanks to the introduction of the Draconian language, Humans have played a major part in the expansion. At the time, The Talons Of Peace weren't keen on the idea of humans being on equal terms to their fellow human slaves, they soon warmed up to the idea. With the knowledge and hard work of Human technology and architecture strategy, Sanctuary entered a golden age of enlightenment. From impressive ways of taking advantage of the terrain to the simple workings of blueprint designs, It was no wonder why Sanctuary had become one of the most influential settlements of all of Pyrrhia. A jewel of a city, many have acknowledged the place as a den of heroes, scholars, and builders alike. Others called it a gem of paradise, freely relaxed on the side of a mountain.

One of the perks that the humans bought along to Sanctuary was now an open town. Sanctuary's original entry point was the entrance of a cave that reminded Sunny of her first home. Today, there was a town built around the cave entries and the settlement supplied with which Sunny had to guess were guards-in-training. Small battalions of men and dragons were divided into activities of military training. Sunny noticed Adult scavengers shouting orders and practicing hand-to-hand combat skills in tight, sparring spaces. Some of which dragons had begun to mimic. It felt more like a military camp than a settlement.

As Sunny dug herself deeper into the open camp, Sunny was later met by what appeared to be humans and dragons working in fields of farmland and cutting down trees. Human lumberjacks were working together to stock wood while others were helping dragons plant tree saplings and crops. At least they're prepared, Sunny thought.

As Sunny was walking around the camp, she had expected to run into Winter or Riptide hopefully. She was getting a bit lost in the chaos of the crowd. A lot of humans and dragons made Sanctuary a home out of what was formerly a base for The Talons Of Peace. At least she wasn't getting weird stares about her heritage; A few dragons and scavengers noticed her but Sunny sensed no malice in their presence.

After carefully reading signs where the Sanctuary Post Office was, Sunny eventually made her to the place. It was nestled on an open balcony, where The Couriers could easily land to unload letters and fly out for parcel delivery. It was now a huge brick building, big enough for the likes of any wings and scavengers to walk through. The only thing that stood in her path was the door.

Sunny took a moment to have a breather. This is It, Sunny thought, after a moment of silence. There is no backing out now. Moons are told, Sunny herself was still nervous about this, but she knew she had to do this. I want to grow. I wish to become a better dragon at this. I have to do this. I wonder if Sky is nervous too.

Sunny took a moment to knock at the door, but she hesitated at the end. She was still unsure if she was doing the right thing.

I wonder how my dad must've felt when he first meer my mom. Was this what he went through?

The question-driven into her mind was enough to motivate her to keep going. There was only one way to find out.

Not even bothering to knock, Sunny swallowed up her anxieties and rushed through the door, ready to face her date head-on.

{And that is it for now, folks! I'm sorry for pulling another cliffhanger move and I know it's cheesy and BS, but hey I can't spoil all the fun for you guys! If there is any way I can make it up, please let me know.}
