It was time for nationals, for the new directions to perform. Everyone was excited to show the judges what they've been preparing. Skye has been keeping to herself, avoiding Santana and Quinn mostly after the night before. There were 2 groups before them, Skye was seated in between coach Sylvester and coach Beiste, with Mrs Pillsbury and Mr Schue next to them. She glanced over to a man that was seated next to coach Beiste, he seemed very sick. He was sweating, pale and kept coughing. For some reason Skye had a bad feeling about it.
After a while the New Directions were up, they were doing amazing, Santana's raw vocals on back to black were incredible. Sam and Finn looked to be having so much fun performing basket case, it was amusing to watch.
It was then that the sick man next to coach Beiste collapsed, during the performance of basket case. People around them started yelling and panicking as coach Beiste rushed to his side. The man stopped breathing, his heart was no longer beating. Skye watched in horror, coach Beiste was giving him CPR and mouth to mouth. The man reanimated and wrapped his arms around the coach, literally biting her in the face, ripping her lips and nose off in the process. More screaming was heard as the man was feasting on coach Beiste's skin.
Mr Schue grabbed Skye's wrist and pulled her along away from the scene. "Come on we have to go!"
"No we can't just leave her there!" She yelled out, managing to get out of his grip, sirens started blasting as coach Beiste seemed to have reanimated. Skye was tackled to the ground by the man and Mr Schue thought it was to late, so everyone left her there to fend for herself. There were a lot of people that perished and gotten up with a hunger for human flesh.
The New Directions had fled the stage, not entirely aware of what was going on. They made their ways outside, reuniting with the adults.
Sam grew worried, not seeing his cousin with them. "Where is Skye?"
"I'm sorry Sam, she didn't make it out." Mr Schue spoke with a sad expression, taking the blonde boy in an embrace as he started crying.
"We have to go to the hotel, get to safety there." Coach Sylvester spoke and they took off to the hotel.
The hotel was overrun, not by the dead, but people that were in a state of panic, scared for their lives. People were put in rooms, told to stay inside and to turn on the radio or TV.
