Smallville and a Vampire Part 2

Yokai Academy's Office of the Headmaster

Conner found himself sitting in the empty office of the Headmaster, and he had to admit, he was having a blast. What started out as a potential mission to prove himself to Clark and Tess had turned into a fun experience for him.

The young Kryptonian and Moka walked all the way to Yokai before they eventually parted ways. Moka had taken her things and headed into the town nearby to go to the 1st year dorms, leaving Conner alone to speak with the school's Headmaster.

Conner had to admit, Moka was one of the most beautiful young women he had ever met. As Conner thought about the beautiful vampire he had just met, his heat vision began to flare up. Conner accidentally fired off a short burst of heat vision into a nearby potted plant. The plant burst into flames, causing Conner to immediately stand up and yelp in embarrassment and panic.

"Crap!" Conner said aloud, as he got to his feet.

Before Conner could react, he heard a voice behind him, "Don't worry about the flames, Mr. Kent."

Conner turned behind him, and much to his surprise, a cloaked man in white robes walk out of the shadows of the office. As the man seemingly bled out of the shadows, Conner blinked in shock.

'How did I not sense this guy? I couldn't hear him…I couldn't even smell him.' Conner thought to himself, in confusion. Conner's confusion amplified as he realized that he still wasn't registering this cloaked man with his senses.

The Headmaster waved his hand at the burning plant, and the flames immediately subsided and the plant was restored to its original state. The Headmaster waved for Conner to sit back down, and Conner immediately found himself sitting back in his seat. Conner blinked in confusion, looking around.

"Wha-" Conner started, but the Headmaster simply waved again.

"Now now. No need for that, Mr. Kent." The Headmaster said, suddenly appearing in his seat at his desk across from Conner.

Conner looked around for a quick second, then he leaned forward to speak. The Headmaster responded by waving his hand again, and Conner found himself sitting up straight in his seat in an extremely formal way.

Conner's application was now outside of his backpack and in the hands of the Headmaster.

"What is happening to me?" Conner whispered aloud.

The Headmaster flipped through the application, while pointing at the ceiling, "There is a Master Rune within the ceiling of my office. Once you stepped in, you submitted to my authority and came under my control."

Conner blinked, looking up at the ceiling to see a dimly lit mystical rune that was rotating on the ceiling. Conner then gulped and whispered, "How'd I miss that?"

"I don't exactly point it out to my visitors. That wouldn't be very tactical, would it Mr. Kent?" The Headmaster asked Conner, now putting his application on the desk and smiling at the young Kryptonian.

"How did you know my name before you got your hands on my application?" Conner asked, as the Headmaster waved his hand again.

Conner's seat was immediately pulled closer to the desk, and a cup of tea was placed in front of both Conner and the Headmaster. Conner glanced at the tea, and then the Headmaster. The Headmaster took a sip of his tea, as he continued to comb through Conner's application.

"Have some tea, Mr. Kent. It might allow you to mellow out." The Headmaster said.

"Is everything at this school as strange as you are, sir?" Conner forcefully added the 'sir' in his question, trying to hide the fact that he was slowly freaking out about the weird situation he found himself in.

The Headmaster put his cup of tea down, still looking down at the application.

"Rest assured, I am the strangest thing at Yokai Academy, Mr. Kent." The Headmaster said with a smile.

Conner leaned forward, seeing an opportunity to get some information on both the Headmaster and Yokai Academy. Conner's hopes for gaining an edge were immediately diminished, when the Headmaster smiled at him. This smile was not a comforting or friendly smile. It was more of a smile that an adult would give to a child that they pitied. The Headmaster was smiling at Conner like he was an idiot, and Conner hated that feeling.

As anger boiled up in Conner, the Headmaster quickly asked, "Is there a particular reason why you, a teenager, filled out a Yokai Academy application for teachers?"

Conner had an uncomfortable look on his face, and the feeling of discomfort only increased when the Headmaster's eyes began to sparkle as he stared at him. The Headmaster shook his head as if he couldn't believe what he was looking at.

"This application you have. I strictly remember dropping it off in the human world for a man in Star City. This application was meant to find a candidate to fill the seat of one of our teacher positions." The Headmaster tilted his head at Conner, then he continued, "Yet, I find the application now attached to a young man who couldn't possibly even know enough about life to be a teacher."

Conner immediately leaned forward and nodded, "That…must have been my mistake. I…I…"

A sense of shame rolled over Conner, as he found himself trying to come up with a lie that he felt would satisfy the Headmaster. The sense of shame was then amplified by the guilt he felt when he thought about Clark and Tess. They would be ashamed to see him lying.

Conner sighed aloud, and lowered his head slightly, "I didn't know that this wasn't a student application."

The Headmaster's smile amplified, but it quickly disappeared when Conner continued, "It wasn't even my application. I took it from a friend of my…a friend of my brother."

The elderly being could not help but be amazed by the honesty of the young man sitting in front of him. There was something about this young man that Mikogami couldn't put his finger on. The young man sitting before him did not have any monster aura around him. Yet with his all-revealing eye, Mikogami saw that this young man was seemingly made out of pure sunlight.

'A young man made of pure light, that couldn't bring himself to lie to me. He might not be a human, but there is enough humanity in him to teach this upcoming generation of monsters the way to coexistence.'

The Headmaster took another sip of his tea, and he nodded, "After reviewing your application, and hearing the truth from your mouth, I have decided to allow you to stay at Yokai Academy, Mr. Kent."

Conner blinked in confusion, and he gulped, "Are you serious?"

The Headmaster waved his hand, and Conner found himself standing at the door with several school uniforms in his arms.

The Headmaster smiled at Conner and nodded, "Welcome to Yokai Academy, young man. I hope you bring your zeal and ambitious drive with you and we search for the answer to co-existance between this world and the human world."

Conner opened his mouth to speak, but he stopped when he saw the Headmaster lift his hand up. Conner shouted, "Wait!"

The Headmaster stopped, tilting his head at Conner. Conner then quickly asked, "Coexistence between what?"

The Headmaster smirked and waved his hand, causing Conner to completely disappear from the office. Conner's bags and suitcase also disappeared.

Mikogami leaned back in his seat, flipping through Conner's application once again. He stopped on the line that asked, "What do you want to do after you leave Yokai Academy?"

Mikogami smiled at the answer Conner had written down. "Change the World."

1st Year Boys Dormitory

"What the-" Conner said aloud, as he found himself standing in front of the 1st year boys dormitory. Conner looked around in confusion, wondering how he got from the Headmaster's office to this place across the campus and into the town.

As Conner looked around in confusion, several young men walked into and out of the dorm, looking at Conner in confusion and amusement.

One of the guys, who was acting as an unofficial tour guide to the group of students, stopped and laughed, "Did the Headmaster do the 'hand wavey' stuff on you too?"

Conner nodded slightly, and the student chuckled, "Welcome to Yokai Academy, freshman."

Conner looked at a slip of paper that had his room number and room key attached to it.

Conner made his way into the dorm, eventually finding his dorm room and settling in. Conner sat down on his bed, sighing aloud and recollecting himself.

'How'd I get myself in this situation?' Conner shook his head, thinking about how this started out as a simple recon mission. But then again, what did Conner actually know about recon missions?

Conner exited his room, making his way downstairs, to the phones that were lined up in the student lobby. Conner immediately picked up one of the payphones and inserted his LexCorp credit card into the device.

Conner rung up the number for Tess' apartment, hoping that Tess would not freak out and be too angry at him for stealing the mission from Clark and Oliver. However, the school's phone did not even ring once before it made a loud beeping noise.

"This call cannot be completed. Calls to the human world cannot be made through this phone. Goodbye." The phone's female voice said. Conner looked at the phone in confusion, but he was caught offguard when he saw that there was a mouth on the earpiece of the payphone.

Conner blinked in surprise, then he shook his head, "You've got to be kidding me."

"Weird isn't it?" The phone's mouth asked him.

Conner then shrugged and sighed aloud. He then sarcastically shot back, "What? That the phone I was about to use has a mouth and can talk to me? Of course that isn't weird. And the Headmaster said he was the strangest thing on campus."

The phone's mouth made a frown with its thin lips before saying, "Listen, kid. I'm not here to make conversation with you. Do you mind putting me back on the"

Conner put the phone down, before looking down the row of phones, seeing other students talking on the phones as if they had no care in the world.

Conner walked out of the boys dormitory, and he watched as an exodus of students seemed to be headed into the heart of the town. Conner's look of confusion was replaced with a hint of interest. He was a teenage boy of course, and his instincts were screaming that he should find out what his peers were doing, and potentially join them.

Conner saw a young woman with silky purple hair that reached down to her back. She eyes were light purple, and almost hypnotic. She was wearing a golden and black jacket, with black pants and a pair of black combat boots. On the side of her jacket was an armband that read, 'Public Safety Commission'. The young woman wore an unease look, as she stood on the steps to the boys dormitory watching the wave of freshman head into the town.

"Excuse me," Conner asked, tapping the young woman on her shoulder.

Without even looking back at him, the young woman said, "You're excused. It's fine."

Conner chuckled a bit, causing the young woman to direct her attention at him now. She looked at him with a bit of confusion, and Conner nodded, "Sorry. I actually wanted to ask what's going on?"

The girl glanced at Conner, up and down, before fixing her eyes on him and nodding, "Are you a freshman?"

"Yes, apparently." Conner chuckled to himself, but the young woman did not find this amusing. She tilted her head at Conner and sighed.

"Our curfew starts in an hour since tomorrow is our first day of classes. Everyone is going out to grab some dinner before we have to return to the dorms." The young woman said to Conner, before directing her attention back at the crowd of freshman.

"So, you're a freshman too?"

The young woman rolled her eyes, then looked back at Conner, "Yes, I am. I'm also a member of the Public Safety Commission."

The young woman narrowed her eyes at Conner, expecting him to feel a sense of fear or intimidation. She sized him up, and assumed that he must have been weak. He didn't have any monster aura leaking out of him. So he was obviously less than an A-Class monster.

The young woman was shocked to hear Conner just whistle slightly, as if he were impressed. He then nodded, "Wow, that's cool. So you're like a student police officer? How'd you get that position as a freshman?"

The young woman was taken aback by Conner's lack of fear or intimidation. Her mouth hung open slightly, and Conner narrowed his eyes at her as if waiting for an answer.

She gulped and then nodded, "I was… hand-picked by the Headmaster. My test scores…um, and my application answers put me as a prime candidate for the program."

"Cool. So you going to get dinner with everyone else, or what?"

The young woman couldn't help but put on a small smile, hearing Conner's straight-forward and quick response.

"What's your name, fish?" The young woman said, flexing a bit of her monster energy out of her body.

Conner blinked in shock, seeing a strange energy form around the young woman's body. This shock was more out of interest. Yokai Academy had proven to be incredibly strange to him.

Besides acknowledging the strange energy, he just nodded and laughed, "Don't call me 'fish', when you're a freshman too. What's your name?"

The young woman took a step closer to Conner, continuing to size him up. She then put on a sardonic smile and slowly nodded, "I'm Keito Shiruku. And you?"

Conner nodded, "Conner Kent. So, any suggestions on what to grab for dinner?"

Keito crossed her arms and simply said, "I'd get your food and head back, Kent. Wouldn't want you to be late for the curfew."

The Next Day

Conner couldn't help but make small changes to his school uniform as he walked to class. The young Kryptonian was feeling more and more confident about his first day. This was his first first day of school, and Conner couldn't help but feel excited about this fact. So he walked towards Yokai Academy, Conner had a huge smile on his face.

Some of Conner's peers were also on the path he was walking on, but they did not look nearly as excited as he was for their first day.

Conner made his way into Yokai Academy once again, and he found himself caught up on the beautiful interior of the school. The gothic and classical look of Yokai blended surprisingly well with the Japanese high school vibe the school had.

Conner got into his homeroom class, and he took a seat near the back by the window. Conner knew it'd be best to avoid drawing a lot of attention to himself.

As Conner's classmates began pouring into the classroom, the young man anxiously awaited for class to start. Conner's homeroom teacher came into the classroom, and the Kryptonian sweatdropped at her appearance. His teacher had her sandy blond hair shaped up as cat ears. Well, at first Conner thought that it was her hair shaped up as cat ears. After taking a couple glances at his teacher, Conner quickly released that this woman standing in front of him actually did just have cat ears on her head.

She wore a white blouse, orange skirt, low heeled sandals, and her eyes seemed to be closed. She wore a pair of red glasses over her seemingly closed eyes. Something else that caught Conner's attention was the woman's tail. His teacher's feline tail seemed to naturally shift up and down as the teacher set some things up on her desk as if doing last-minute preparations for class.

Conner glanced around at his peers, but found that none of them saw the teacher's appearance as strange or unusual.

'This is a school for monsters.' Conner thought to himself, as if he were insane. Then he stopped and actually considered the thought again. He'd met Moka, who bit him on the neck and sucked some of his blood. And Moka openly claimed that she was a vampire. He met the Headmaster, who was able to teleport him around his office using magical runes or something. The teacher in front of him had literal cat ears and a cat tail. Not to mention the strange reason why his invulnerability wasn't working here.

"This is a school for monsters," Conner whispered to him. He then tilted his head and tried to process the situation.

Conner's train of thought was cut short, when he recognized a student who came through the door. Much to Conner's surprise, Keito walked into the classroom wearing her female school uniform. She wore a somewhat bored look on her face, as she walked to her seat directly in front of Conner.

She gave him a quick glance before directly her attention towards their teacher. Keito loudly cleared her throat and said with an authoritative voice, "It is time for class to start, Ms. Nekonome."

Everyone in class fell silent, as they glanced over at Keito, who interlocked her fingers together and stared at the teacher at the front of the classroom. Everyone's attention shifted from Keito to Ms. Nekonome, who awkwardly cleared her throat and nodded.

"Um…thank you very much Ms…" Nekonome looked down at her roster and ran through the names, until she finally found Keito's photo. Nekonome put on an upbeat smile and directed it at Keito, "Ms. Shiruku! Thank you for that reminder. With a strong voice like yours, you could become the class representative."

Keito put on a sardonic smile, but Nekonome simply directed her attention to the other students in the classroom and started pouring out pure charm as she addressed the room. "Good morning freshman class of Yokai Academy. My name is Shizuka Nekonome! I'm honored to have you all in my homeroom classroom this year!"

Conner straightened himself in his seat and smiled at the woman standing in front of him. He had to admit, for a school for monsters, the teacher was pretty nice.

"Maybe Tess and Clark might let me go to school here when I tell them about this place," Conner whispered to himself.

Conner couldn't help but let out a little chuckle after saying this aloud. OF course Clark and Tess would not be down for this. He would be surprised if Tess ever let him out of her sight again.

Nekonome began walking up and down the rows of students in the classroom, as she continued her welcome speech, "You all should be very proud of yourselves. You've all been selected to come here to Yokai Academy because of your grades, application responses, and finally your compatibility with living among human beings."

Nekonome got to the front of the classroom and finished, "Over the next four years, you will not only be taking your normal high school courses, but you will be groomed, trained, and taught how to live among humans in the human world to work towards coexistence between monsters and humans."

Conner leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms while looking at Ms. Nekonome. The young man thought to himself, 'So this isn't just a school for monsters. But a school that is supposed to teach monsters how to coexist with humans. Not a school that weaponizes monsters or radicalizes monsters. But actually promotes coexistence? Maybe this place isn't so bad after all.'

A streak of lightning stretched across the sky, and Conner looked out the window to see a series of thunderclouds collecting nearby.

Nekonome continued, "Because humans dominate the Earth, and a war between humans and monsters would end with the Earth in pieces, we must come to a compromise. A middle ground. That middle ground is coexistence. And that coexistence starts with you young men and women."

Nekonome smiled and her eyes stopped on Conner. She nodded and said, "So good luck. The future of monsterkind and mankind is now in your hands."

Conner couldn't help but feel an immediate weight just land on his shoulders. Monsters were real. Just a day ago, Conner had learned that aliens were real, and he was one of those aliens. Now he was learning that monsters were real, they were present on the Earth, and they wanted to live in the human realm.

But Conner still found a sense of peace about this. Maybe it was his alien enhanced mind. Maybe it was the confidence he had in his powers. Maybe it was the fact that these monsters were trying to teach their youth coexistence and compromise rather than death and destruction. Then it dawned on Conner. Maybe it was the fact that he actually belonged here. He wasn't human. He was an alien clone. What better place to go to school than an academy that teaches non-humans how to live and operate in a society of humans? He'd fit right in.

One student raised her hand and she called out before Nekonome could call on her, "Why should we work to compromise and coexist with humans? We're the dominate species, with all of our abilities, our monster auras and energies, we should be able to take over the world."

Nekonome heard this and she opened her mouth to speak, but another student jumped in, "If we're supposed to be learning about coexistence, shouldn't there also be human students at the school? Why should we be the ones who bare all the responsibility of coexistence?"

Conner remained quiet, listening to his peers ask these questions. He himself did wonder what the right answers were. A part of Conner did feel it was wrong that only monsterkind had to learn the virtues of coexistence, when it would be a dual effort from both monsters and humanity to get together and get along. However, Conner also felt that sometimes peace only comes along when someone acts as a bigger person and takes a step to make peace. This time, it was the monsters seeking to make peace. And Conner could respect it.

"I'm really excited to hear you all so vocal about your ideas and opinions! And we will get to discuss these views throughout your stay here. But let's go over some of our ground rules first!" Nekonome said, as she pulled out chalk and waved her hand over the board. Writing began to instantly appear as Nekonome faced the class and spoke to them.

"Rule 1: Unless given specific permission by faculty, administration, or the Public Security Commission, no student is allowed to transform into their true forms. As long as you're on campus, you must always remain in your human form. Does everyone understand?" Nekonome said, as the rule appeared on the board behind her in chalk.

"Rule 2: Never ever reveal your monster identity to other students." The rule appeared on the board behind Nekonome. The teacher then put the chalk down and continued speaking, "Because we are trying to teach you the importance of coexistence on Earth, you can obviously see why you shouldn't be revealing your true natures to anyone else."

Nekonome then clapped her hands softly and smiled, "Everyone will be following these rules, right?"

Everyone gave timid and quiet responses. Conner glanced around, noticing the lack of enthusiasm in his peers about not revealing their true natures.

Keito then slipped her PSC band on her arm and then she glared around the room, saying aloud, "As a member of the Public Security Commission, I strongly recommend that all of my peers understand and follow these rules down to the letter. It would be to all of your benefits."

Everyone immediately began nervously nodding and saying 'yes' aloud to show Keito that they agreed with her. Keito glanced up at Nekonome again, wearing her sardonic smile.

Nekonome showed a hint of annoyance that Keito had just threatened her peers right in front of the teacher with no thought or hint of fear for repercussions. Besides addressing the issue, Nekonome and the entire class heard a student begin to chuckle aloud. Everyone glanced over to the young man laughing to see what was so funny. Keito glared at the young man, while Nekonome looked down at her roster.

This student was sitting right next to Conner, and in Conner's opinion, the guy looked like the stereotype of a gangster. Conner, however, scolded himself quickly for judging the young man by appearances alone. The Kryptonian tried to quiet his thoughts so he could hear the question the young man had.

Nekonome glanced up from her roster book and said, "And you are, Saizou Komiya."

Saizou smirked at Nekonome and laughed, "If we happen to spot a human here on campus, why don't we just eat it? That's what I'd do."

Saizou's tongue began stretching out his mouth, revealing that it was long and inhuman-looking. Keito continued to glare at Saizou, but this just caused him to focus on Keito. Saizou glanced at her with lust-filled eyes.

Nekonome was about to respond when Conner immediately jumped in, "If this is a school that's supposed to be focused on us learning to coexist with humans, why would your first response to a human be to kill them?"

Saizou looked at Conner, immediately sizing him up. Conner kept his arms crossed and stared back at Saizou.

Nekonome was about to jump in now, when Keito said to Conner as if he were a child, "It is a school rule for us to kill any trespassing humans that come into this land. It is to keep the school's secrecy and protect the monsters that are here on campus."

"That's a bit moronic, don't you think?" Conner shot back at Keito, which caused her to raise an eyebrow at him.

"Why would you think that, Kent?" Keito said, now talking to Conner as if he were an imbecile.

Conner then leaned forward and said, "You want to teach coexistence? Well if a human did appear on campus, it'd make more sense to use that human as the school's sample run. If that person can coexist here on campus, then it can be used as proof that coexistence is a potential option in the future."

Conner then nodded to Saizou, "It also makes more sense to prove to humans that monsters aren't all evil and that they are worth coexisting with, when monsters don't eat humans that stumble on the campus."

"Guy lives in fantasy land." One of Conner's peers laughed aloud.

Almost everyone in the classroom began to roar in laughter. There were a few exceptions, but most people did not take Conner's statement seriously.

Conner narrowed his eyes at everyone laughing, but he noticed that Ms. Nekonome was not amused. She had a frown on her face, as if she were actually pondering the question and a potential and appropriate response to Conner's claim.

Keito was not laughing either. Although she did not look as if she was pondering Conner's question. She examed Conner as if she were examining a mouse caught in a trap. She tilted her head at him, with her purple eyes intensely staring at him. Conner noticed Keito staring, and he blushed a bit and muttered aloud.

"Take a photo, it might last long."

Keito immediately put on her sardonic smile and said, "Silver-tongued and idealistic. How adorable."

The last person that Conner noticed wasn't laughing was Saizou. However, this did not come from a place of deep thought or ponderance. It came from a place of boredom. He already had a response if he came across a human, and he wasn't going to be convinced of anything otherwise. At least not by some weak American monster.

"Quiet down, everyone," Nekonome said, taking control of the classroom again. She then nodded and said in a reassuring voice, "None of you have to worry about humans getting onto our campus, because as Keito said, we have a powerful magical barrier that protects our realm from the human realm. But if any human were found here, they would be captured and killed."

Conner opened his mouth to speak, but Nekonome spoke quicker than he did, saying, "Of course, we would do it in a very humane way. But we do have to focus on also protecting ourselves and most importantly, you students. You are the future generation who will ensure that we will not have to face this reality in the future."

The door to the classroom swung open, and everyone directed their attention to door. Much to the joy of all the male students, and the dismay of all the females students, Moka walked into the classroom radiating pure beauty and brilliance.

"I'm so sorry I'm late, teacher. I got lost." Moka said to Ms. Nekonome, giving her a quick bow.

Keito glared at Moka, as the young vampire interrupted the class to talk to Nekonome. Conner noticed this spiteful glare that Keito was giving, and he felt a sense of worry for his newest vampire friend. In fact, almost all the girls in the room were now glaring at Moka with hateful looks.

Keito glanced back at Conner, and she was surprised to see him looking at her. She blinked and the her spiteful glare turned into a calm and almost interested look. Almost interested.

"I'm surprised you aren't caught up in the eye-candy, Kent," Keito whispered to Conner, who gulped after hearing Keito say this. Conner straightened his tie, but then he was forced to close his eyes and put his hands over them as he felt his heat vision flare up again.

'Why are there so many cute girls that go to this school? And why can't I control my heat vision yet?' Conner thought to himself in frustration.

Keito smirked at Conner, who was refusing to look at her or anyone else. She couldn't help but let off an amused smile.

Keito and Conner's attention were drawn to the front of the classroom, as Moka stood in front of everyone and said, "Hey! I'm Moka Akashiya! It's a pleasure to be in class with all of you this year! Let's all be good friends, okay?!"

The guys in the classroom could barely contain their excitement, as they blushed and drooled at Moka as if she were a piece of meat.

Conner kept his eyes averted from Moka in hopes that he didn't accidentally release a blast of heat vision that would burn a hole in the wall behind the vampire.

Conner's attempt to not look at Moka were immediately undermined by Moka, who saw him sitting in front of an empty seat by the windows. She immediately shouted in joy, "Conner!" Moka ran over and nearly tackled Conner out of his seat, giving him a powerful bear hug.

Conner blushed, and closed his eyes, returning the hug and laughing, "Hey Moka. What a surprise?"

Almost everyone in the class looked at Moka and Conner in either shock or jealousy. Conner couldn't help but be a bit annoyed. He tried to avoid being the center of attention, and thanks to Moka, bless her sweet little vampiric heart, now he was on everyone's mind.

Conner glanced over and saw Keito now glaring daggers at Moka. The look of spite had completely transformed into a look of pure hatred. Keito's eyes rested on Conner, and she gave him a look as if he were a fly that had been caught into the trap of a rival spider.

Keito then directed her attention towards Nekonome. Nekonome cleared her throat and said, "Okay, everyone to their seats please! Let's continue class!"

Conner could have easily broken out of the lock Moka had placed his arm in, as the vampire pulled him towards the cafeteria. He felt his super strength present, and he knew he could most likely slip through her grip with a bit of force. However, he had no desire to leave the lock he was in with Moka.

Moka pulled Conner through Yokai Academy's halls, and he couldn't help but feel as if he were the luckiest teen alive. He had a beautiful girl on his arm, and she looked like she was actually having the time of her life.

Conner, of course, couldn't help but also catch the glares and looks of pure hate and jealously he was receiving from his male peers at Yokai. If he thought Moka was a beauty, of course other students would feel the same way.

'As long as no one here is crazy enough to actually try something, everything should be fine.' Conner thought to himself, as Moka and him stopped in front of the cafeteria.

"Let's grab some food, Conner." Moka laughed.

Moka and Conner went through the line, and they laughed as they got their food. Conner was interested to see how different monster food was from human food. Hopeful it wasn't gross or weird.

From what Tess told him, he couldn't be poisoned or harmed through contaminations. This gave Conner enough confidence that he'd be immune to almost anything he might eat that might be for non-human consumption. Tess also taught Conner about his advanced healing factor, and that would also work to counter anything deadly he might eat.

Conner and Moka sat down outside together, and enjoyed their stuffed rice balls for lunch. As Conner ignorantly ate his rice ball, he spoke with his mouth full, "So, are there any real differences between monster food and human food?"

Moka took small bites of her rice ball, while shrugging, "Monster food like this normally tastes the same as human food that I've eaten in the human world. So I couldn't tell you, honestly."

Moka then smiled and looked at Conner, "That'd probably be an awesome question to ask in our health class this semester!"

Conner tilted his head at Moka, chuckling, "Yeah, you know what, I guess you're right."

Lunchtime came to an end, and as a sea of freshmen headed back to class, Conner nodded Moka standing in front of a vending machine looking at the various drink options on display. Conner walked over to Moka and he nodded, "Grabbing something to drink before we head back?"

Moka nodded and pulled out her wallet. Conner immediately pulled his own wallet out and shook his head, "I can get it for you."

Moka blushed and said, "Oh, you don't have to Conner."

"It's fine. I've got some extra money to spare," Conner pulled out his Lexcorp card and inserted it in the vending machine. Moka ordered the tomato juice, but she couldn't help but look down at the Lexcorp card, as Conner placed it back in his wallet.

Moka looked at Conner and quietly said, "Thank you, Conner."

Conner shook his head and smiled at her, "It's not a problem, Moka. Anytime."

Moka blushed and looked away from Conner. Conner noticed the blush and he found himself lost in how beautiful Moka was again. Conner had to immediately turn away from her to make sure he didn't accidentally fire off any heat vision bursts.

Moka noticed Conner looking away from her, and this caused her to giggle, "Conner, you're so silly."

Moka gave Conner soft push on the shoulder, while blushing. Conner couldn't help but feel the powerful force behind Moka's seemingly light push. However, Conner also felt his own body naturally resist Moka's push. As Moka lightly shoved Conner, there was a loud clanging noise, as if Moka had just hit a teen of steel.

Moka pulled her hand away, rubbing it, and said in awe, "Wow! You're really strong, Conner!"

"Yeah, you too." Conner laughed as the two-headed towards the entrance to the school building with their classroom in it.

Much to their surprise, as Conner and Moka neared the doors, the doors swung open and Saizou walked out with a confident look on his face. Saizou sized up Conner and Moka again, this time releasing a wave of monster energy in his aura to cause Conner and Moka to freak out. While Moka took a step away from Saizou and behind Conner, Conner couldn't help but tilt his head at the aura of energy Saizou was releasing.

"What is that? That weird energy your body is releasing?" Conner questioned, with a tilt of his head.

Moka and Saiozu looked at Conner in confusion, both wondering why Conner did not know what a monster aura was.

Saizou then directed his attention to Moka, laughing, "Come on, sexy. You'd rather hang out with this braindead loser, than me?"

Conner narrowed his eyes at Saizou, but Saizou continued, "You said you're name was Moka Akashiya right? Well, I'm Saizou Komiya. Now ditch this loser, and come have some fun with me. What do you say?"

Moka looked at Saizou in terror, and then she looked at Conner. Saizou was slightly taller than Conner, but not by much. The problem was, Moka could clearly see Saizou's monster aura, even before he started flexing it. Conner's aura was nearly invisible to Moka. Saizou must've been completely out of Conner's league, and Moka knew it.

Conner took a step towards Saizou, saying, "How about we just stop this, and handle it like men? How's about that, Saizou?"

Saizou immediately lashed out at Conner, punching Conner in the face at incredible speeds. Much to Moka and Conner's surprise, Saizou's fist had turned into a large monstrous and boney fist as it ripped through the air and slammed into Conner's face.

CLANG!

The sound of metal clanged throughout the entire school for a single moment.

"Conner!" Moka ran to Conner's side, but she stopped and blinded in shock when she saw what had happened.

Saizou pulled his monstrous fist back, and he shouted in pain, revealing several broken fingers. Saizou's roars of pain increased as his hand transformed back into its human form. Saizou glared at Conner, who had a look of rage on his face.

'He tanked that punch…and he looks unharmed!" Saizou thought to himself, as he huffed and puffed to not roar out in pain again.

"Not a scratch on him!" Moka gasped in awe, causing Saizou to growl in anger. The eye on Moka's rosary began to glow a bright crimson color. The eye bounced around in excitement, before resting its gaze on Conner.

Conner balled his fist, taking a step towards Saizou who was one his knee, still gripping his hand. Everything in Conner wanted to lash out and rip Saizou to pieces, but the talk he had with Clark was at the forefront of his mind now.

'Everything that we do with our abilities is our responsibility, Conner.' Conner could almost hear Clark's voice in his mind.

Conner growled aloud, "We control our powers, so they don't control us."

"What?" Moka asked in confusion, but Conner seemingly ignored her.

Conner took a step towards Saizou again, causing the gangster-like student to get to his feet as if preparing for a fight. Conner stopped in front of Saizou and simply said, "Put some ice on those fingers, man. You'll be just fine."

Saizou was shocked at this statement, and so was Moka.

Conner patted Saizou on the shoulder before walking past him and opening the door to the building. Saizou and Moka looked at Conner in confusion, as Conner held the door open. Kent simply said, "Let's get to class, Moka. We'll see you later, Saizou."

Saizou blinked in confusion, as Moka quickly ran past Saizou and into the building after Conner.

"What the heck was that?" Moka whispered to Conner, as they stood on the roof of the school together. Classes had come to a close for the first day, and everyone either left the campus to head back to their dorms, or stayed on campus to explore potential afterschool activities.

Much to Conner's surprise, Keito invited him to come to one of the Public Security Commission meetings that they were having soon. She mentioned that his fight with Saizou impressed the leader of the Commission, and he was interested in meeting Kent.

Conner wasn't sure how he felt about being invited to participate in the school's police force, essentially. He felt that it might be a good experience to show how much he valued justice. But justice for these monsters on campus involved killing humans that accidentally come on campus. And Conner honestly knew that if he found a human on campus, he'd work to protect them rather than try to kill them.

This caused Conner to end up going to the roof of the school to think now. He wanted to enjoy his solitude, and process what had happened today. Today was the first time he'd ever used his powers in a fight. And he had to admit, it didn't feel great. He'd been sucker-punched by Saizou, and thankfully his invulnerability was on-point and it completely tanked the blow Saizou sent at him. But Conner wasn't even able to fight back.

He was just too strong.

The solitude that Conner sought was ultimately destroyed by Moka, who came up to the roof to see how he was doing. Conner was a bit peeved that Moka ruined his alone time, but he felt a warmness from her. She was genuinely concerned about Conner's wellbeing.

Conner looked at Moka, almost getting lost in her emerald green eyes. Moka blushed at Conner, and then she said, "So…what was up with all of that earlier, Conner?"

Conner blinked, snapping back to reality.

Moka leaned on the railing next to Conner and asked, "Are you sure you're okay after that? He punched you pretty hard."

"Yeah. I'm all good, Moka." Conner sighed, now looking off at the school again. Conner then shook his head and nodded, "He was pretty strong, though. Don't you think."

Moka blushed and looked at Conner, "Not nearly as strong as you! You beat him without even throwing a punch at him."

Conner looked down in shame, gritting his teeth again. Moka noticed Conner's reaction and she felt a bit of shame for bringing up the fight again.

Moka patted Conner on the shoulder and she said, "Don't worry about that, Conner! Let's talk about something else."

Moka put her hand on her chin as if she were thinking. She then snapped her fingers and then said, "Oh yeah. You never told me what kind of monster you were, Conner!"

Conner turned to Moka, giving her a thin smile while also narrowing his eyes at her in confusion. Moka blinked and then she awkwardly frowned.

"Oh yeah. It's against the rules to tell each other what kind of monsters we are, right? Sorry." Moka looked out at the view of the forest with a bashful look on her face.

Conner looked out at the view of the forest as well, cracking a smile at Moka's cute quirks. He shook his head and said, "Well, I guess you already told me what you were. So that cat's out of the bag."

Moka blushed after hearing Conner say this, and she put her hands on her cheeks to try to hide her blush. Conner chuckled at the sight, causing his smile to widen. Moka noticed this and she moved her hands, smiling at him even harder now.

"Well, technically neither of us knew the rules at the time. So no harm done."

"And I wasn't even enrolled as a student yet. So no harm done?"

Moka blushed and nodded, "Right."

Conner and Moka continued to look off at the forest, when Conner sighed aloud and nodded, "You know, Moka. I don't even really know what I am."

Moka looked at Conner in confusion, and Conner just continued with a hint of sadness in his tone. "I was originally called the Cognitional Neuroplastic Replicant. CNR for short. I don't really know what it means. I mean, what does it mean about my existence? My purpose? Do I even really have a purpose? I've never even had a normal life."

Moka's eyes became filled with compassion and Conner continued, "This is the first school I've ever been to. You're the first friend I've ever really had that wasn't connected to my big sister. This is the first time I haven't felt like a complete-"

"Freak," Moka said, as if she completely understood Conner's pain and suffering.

The pink-haired vampire whispered, "They don't believe in vampires back in the human world. So when I was at school there, they treated me like I was freak because I told them I was a vampire. They made fun of me. They mocked me."

Moka's voice cracked, as she went through the suffering she faced at the hands of humans in her youth.

"It's a shame." Conner said, while looking up at the sun, "If we had gone to the same school, I would have been your friend."

Moka blushed at Conner, and she felt a warmness in her chest. She smiled at Conner, touching her rosary.

Moka then said, "Conner. I want to show you something."

Conner looked over to see Moka spreading her breasts apart to reveal the beautiful silver rosary connected to her choker. Conner's eyes flashed red, causing him to look away, with a hint of shame building up in him.

'I can't even look at her without nearly bursting out with my heat vision.'

Conner felt a soft and warm hand on his cheek, and Moka pulled his attention back to her rosary.

"Look at this rosary on my chest, Conner. This is the seal that was placed on me that holds back all of my tremendous monster energy. If it were to come off, I would transform into my true form. A powerful and terrifying vampire."

'Her true form?' Conner thought to himself, while looking at the rosary. The eye within the jewel the rosary was staring right at him. Conner then blinked in shock as the eye directed its glance somewhere else, as if Conner was uninteresting to it.

Conner looked at Moka and said, "Your true form? Is it really so much different from the you right in front of me?"

Moka blushed, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. Moka then whispered, "I don't really know. I haven't transformed into that form for so long. I can't remove the rosary myself."

"What?" Conner blinked in shock.

Moka nodded, "Yep. No matter how strong someone is, no one has been able to remove the rosary except my father. So my powers will always be sealed away."

Moka wrapped her arms around Conner's neck while saying, "Conner, you've been my first friend here at Yokai Academy. And you're a different first, too."

"What?" Conner said, as Moka and he drew closer to each other.

Moka then whispered into his ear, blowing her warm breath on Conner's face, "You're also the first person I've ever drank blood from before."

"Really?" Conner said, sweatdropped. Conner looked into Moka's eyes, and he felt his arms drop to his side as if his body were in a trance that even he couldn't break free from.

Moka nodded and blushed, whispering, "Before now, I've only drank from blood bags, tomato juice, and non-living bodies. But you were the first person who's blood I'd ever tasted. And it was delicious! The best I'd ever tasted before."

Moka opened her lips, revealing her fangs, and she drew close to Conner's neck. However, what happened next shocked both Conner and Moka.

The rosary's jewel eye began rattling and glowing a bright crimson color.

In an instant, Conner's vision of Moka was replaced by something that both terrified and aroused him. Moka's skin had become pale white, but the warmth of it had intensified. Moka's fangs were now more pronounced, sharper and deadlier. Moka's eyes were now crimson and inhuman, with insanely sharp slits for her iris. What terrified Conner was the fact that the crimson eyes were infused with a look of sharp and thirsty passion. Moka's body had immediately transformed into something extremely hyper-sexualized. Her breasts had increased in size, as well as her butt. What Conner found the most unsettling was the smile Moka now had. It was the smile of a person who lured you in to a sense of security, only capitalize on that trust to insert herself on top of you.

Conner's arms instinctively pulled up to Moka's back, and he touched the small of Moka's back. Moka hissed at his touch, revealing her fangs once again. In that instant, Conner's eyes flashed red and the vision of Moka that he was now holding onto was replaced with the original Moka he had met, who was about to sink her teeth into him. Moka's rosary was staring at him with a look of what Conner could only describe as longing.

Conner pushed Moka out of the way as he let out several bursts of heat vision down into the roof below him.

Conner let out several groans as he continued shooting out several shots of his heat vision. The Kryptonian's involuntary heat vision slowly came to an uneasy stop as he embarrassedly covered his eyes. Conner stood up on his now quivering legs, attempting to regain his composure. He looked down in the hole that he had created, seeing a group of students look up at him through the hole.

Conner gulped, and then he waved and said, "Sorry. I…I…my bad."

Conner looked over to Moka, who was blushing and covering her mouth.

"Mo-" Conner started but stopped. He shook his head and said, "I'm so sorry!" Conner stood to his feet and zoomed away at super speed, once again shocking Moka.

Moka was left speechless after witnessing this sight.

Conner didn't know where he was going. He just knew he wanted to get away from the world. Conner found himself coming to a stop by the cliff near the bus stop. Dust and gravel flew up all around him as he exited his super speeding sprint.

The young Kryptonian looked out at the sea of blood, growling in frustration.

"I was supposed to prove I was a hero. That I could be like Clark, but I can't even control this heat vision…" Conner whispered to himself. Conner growled in anger, slamming his fist into the nearby tree. The tree exploded into pieces, and the splintered fragments of the tree went flying into the sea of blood beneath Conner.

Moka ran down the path she had first met Conner on, hoping her hunch about him was correct.

The pink-haired vampire had to admit, she was extremely confused. Never before had she felt such a massive surge of energy come from her rosary before. She couldn't help but feel strange and unsettled by the experience. It was almost as if she blacked out for a single moment, only to wake up with Conner holding her in his arms.

Sadly, the momentary blackout wasn't the weirdest thing that had happened to her today. After waking up to find herself in Conner's arms, Moka was hit with an even stranger surprise. Her first and only friend at Yokai Academy was suddenly firing out powerful beams of energy from his eyes that cut through the roof of the building and nearly cut her in half.

'I don't know any monster that could fire energy from their eyes.' Moka thought to herself as she reached the graveyard where she had first met Conner.

Moka stopped, and a hint of excitement rushed through her mind. Moka whispered aloud, "He's really strong and fast. Maybe he's a strange off-shoot of vampire."

Moka's rosary eye began to let off a dim glow, too dim for Moka to notice.

The young vampire shook her head and continued through the graveyard when she heard behind her, "Where are you running off to, Akashiya?"

Moka quickly turned around to see Saizou leaning against a tree, glaring at her. Saizou's arm was in a sling, and as he rolled his shoulder, he grimaced in pain. Moka noticed this, and she then nodded with confidence.

"Sorry, but I'm busy now." Moka shortly said, hoping Saizou would take the hint.

Saizou pulled his arm out of the sling, balling his fist and causing the bones in his arm to snap into place. Saizou then began to grow more muscular and monstrous. Saizou's shirt and blazer ripped to pieces as his bones began penetrating Saizou's skin, giving him natural bone claws and spiked knuckles. Saizou revealed his true form as an Orc as he loomed over Moka.

Saizou growled to Moka, "Don't you worry, Moka. I'm not here for you. I want a rematch with that boyfriend of yours."

Moka took a step away from Saizou, and concern came across her face.

Saizou then balled his fists and said, "Let's see how tough he is when he faces an Orc in its true form."

Saizou's tongue stretched out of his mouth and wrapped around Moka's leg. Saizou then slung Moka into the air, causing her to shout out in fear.

Moka's voice rang in Conner's ear, causing him to look back into the forest where the scream originated.

Conner didn't hesitate to zoom off towards his friend's cry for help.

"Tell me where your little boyfriend ran off to, Moka." Saizou laughed, looming over Moka. Moka was covered in Saizou's slime, and she had a deep cut on her cheek. Moka leaned her back against the tree behind her, glaring at Saizou.

"He's not my boyfriend. He's my friend-" Moka started, and Saizou chuckled.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, princess." Saizou did a little dance while pointing at Moka, "Well, if he's not your boyfriend, then I guess he won't come to your rescue. Then when don't you transform into your monster form so you can give me some stimulation."

Moka narrowed her eyes at Saizou, "It's against school rules to transform into our true forms."

"We're not on school grounds, so that rule doesn't apply. Now come here!"

Saizou shot his tongue out at Moka once again, wrapping around Moka's legs and slinging her into a tree. Moka coughed out blood as she crashed into the thick tree, cracking the tree.

Moka slammed to the ground, now struggling to breathe. Moka lifted her eyes up to Saizou, who raised his claw at her and laughed, "Let's get this over with, Moka!"

Saizou slammed his claw down when something happened that surprised both Moka and Saizou. Conner appeared in front of Moka, standing up to Saizou and glaring at the hulking monster. Saizou's claws slammed down into Conner, who just stood there and tanked the attack. The ground beneath Conner cracked, sending shards of earth flying around him, but Conner withstood the attack completely.

Conner looked back at Moka and he slightly nodded, "Are you alright?"

Moka gave him a quick nod, and Conner smiled.

Conner then turned his attention to Saizou, who blinked in shock. Conner then shook his head and said, "I'm not impressed."

Saizou growled and pulled his fist back to punch Conner, who blitzed over and kicked Saizou in the chest.

Saizou went flying backward, rolling on the ground several times before coming to a stop. The orc growled and pushed himself to his feet.

"I'm in my true form, Kent! It'll take more than-"

Conner's eyes burned bright red as he fired off his heat vision at Saizou. Conner narrowed his eyes, hoping to limit the blast and direct it towards Saizou's shoulder. Conner's blast of energy fired out and burned Saizou's shoulder, causing the orc to roar out in a mix of pain and rage.

Conner closed his eyes shut and growled in agitation, hoping that he would have had more control of his heat vision in this time of need.

'Either it's too weak or too strong.' Conner opened his eyes as he heard Saizou charging toward him and Moka.

"Conner!" Moka shouted out in warning.

Conner rushed forward at Saizou, and Saizou grabbed forward at Conner. Conner easily used his super-speed to lean out of the orc's reach and dodge the attack. Conner zoomed past Saizou and behind him. Saizou came to a stop and turned towards Conner.

Saizou roared in anger and punched at Conner, but Conner blitzed him once again, this time slamming his shoulder into Saizou's chest. Saizou yelped in surprise as he was sent tumbling down the hill that led to the sea of blood near the bus stop.

Conner looked back at Moka, who was struggling to get off the ground. Conner zoomed over to her as she slipped and fell to the ground again. Conner grabbed ahold of Moka and caught her in his arms.

"Are you alright, Moka?"

Moka blushed and looked up at Conner, who held her tight in his arms. She smiled at Conner and nodded.

"I think so. I'm glad you made it on time." Moka said with a smile as tears began to roll down her face.

Conner shook his head and smiled, "If you ever need me, just call. I'll always hear you."

Moka put on a small smirk and laughed, "Bold…promise."

Saizou roared again, catching the attention of both Moka and Conner. Saizou leaped through the air, slamming down on the ground in front of Moka and Conner again.

Saizou shook his head and balled his fists. He growled and glared daggers at Moka and Conner. Saizou focused on Moka first, roaring, "You think you're so tough, hiding behind you powerful little boyfriend!"

The orc then focused on Conner next, growling, "And you! First, you broke my arm! Then you beat me in my true form! What the heck are you? Show your true form and fight me!"

Conner balled his fist, and he remembered what Clark told him. This was the time for him to use his powers, but to use them with care and responsibility. Conner softly put Moka on the ground and rose to face off against Saizou when Moka grabbed his hand.

"Don't do this. We can just leave."

Conner pulled his hand away from Moka, but she grabbed his hand again in resistance. Conner easily pulled his hand free once again. Moka used all her power to grab Conner's hand and pull it to her chest.

Moka, who had tears in her eyes now, cried, "Don't! I don't want you to do this! I don't want you to get hurt because of me! Let's just go!"

Conner smiled at Moka. Moka blinked at Conner, and for a moment, she understood why Conner felt the need to end this fight and not just leave.

"Enough of this lovey-dovey talk! I'm coming for you, Kent." Saizou shouted as more bones and spikes began growing out of his body, causing his muscles also to begin to bulge and increase in power as well.

Conner growled, pulling his hand free once again and turning to face off against Saizou. Much to his surprise, however, there was a loud metal 'clang' that was released as he pulled his hand free. Conner blinked in shock as he looked down at his hand and felt Moka's silver rosary in his hand and free from her neck.

The rosary's eye closed shut, now becoming encased with silver. Conner blinked in shock and opened his mouth to say something when Saizou punched Conner in the face with all his might. Conner felt the impact of Saizou's punch, and the young Kryptonian was sent flying backward, crashing through several trees, before rolling to a stop.

Saizou roared in victory, lifting his arms up and flexing his now ripped and powerful muscles!

"Finally! I got you, Kent!" Saizou roared in laughter. He looked over to Moka, who was shaking on the ground with a look of shock on her face. Saizou's laughter continued as he roared, "Look at that, Akashiya! Your little boyfriend just got decked in the face. How do you feel about that?"

Moka looked down at the broken chain on her choker, and she gasped, "My rosary…" Moka directed her eyes towards Conner, who had pushed himself up to his feet and locked eye with her. Moka then saw her rosary in Conner's hand. Moka then blinked and whispered, "It came off."

Moka's body suddenly became engulfed in crimson and black monster energy. Saizou was forced back from the blast of energy, causing him to slide backward until he regained his balance.

Conner rushed forward towards Moka, but as he tried to reach her, his hand was burned by the immense amount of power that was being released by Moka's body.

The blue sky was suddenly covered by a crimson blood-red hue, and the sun was replaced by a pinkish white moon that shone down on the land.

"Her monster energy…it's changing the weather!" Saizou looked around in awe. Conner glanced over at Saizou and then back at Moka. Suddenly, out of seemingly nowhere, black bats that looked like night itself began flying around Moka, lifting the young woman off the ground and causing her to float. Moka seemed to have lost consciousness and was locked in some sort of trance.

Conner narrowed his eyes at Moka, trying to see what was happening to her. Much to his surprise, Moka's body was transforming. Conner watched as her body began to amplify and become more mature and sexualized. Conner tried to take his eyes off of Moka but was consumed in awe as Moka twirled around, and her bubblegum pink hair was transformed into a shiny platinum cover. The wound on Moka's cheek was covered in monster energy, immediately healing. Moka's mouth opened in a smile, and Conner noticed her fang grow in size, becoming much more noticeable and powerful. Moka's eyes opened and revealed her monstrous crimson eyes.

Moka locked eyes with Conner, smirking at him, before she was consumed by a cloak of the black bats covering her body, engulfing her with a black covering that concealed her body from both Conner and Saizou.

The air stood still as Moka's shocking transformation finished.

Conner stood up straight, trying to use his super senses to see what was going on with Moka. Conner was wrapped up in his own thoughts, 'Is Moka alright? What was all of this?' Conner then looked down at the rosary in his hand and shook his head. Of course, his super strength must have been too much for the rosary and chains.

"What the heck just happened?" Saizou asked aloud, causing Conner to glance over at him. Saizou was now trembling as if he were terrified. Saizou glanced at Conner and said, "She's different now. And scary. That's not the same Moka, is it?"

Conner directed his attention towards Moka again, was stood completely still, still engulfed in blackness.

"Hey, don't ignore me," Saizou said to Conner, but there wasn't any hostility in his voice anymore. There was more concern and anxiety. Saizou then asked, "She's your friend. What kind of monster is she?"

Conner looked over at Saizou, then he nodded, "She's a vampire."

Moka's black covering was suddenly dispersed, revealing her beautiful true form. Moka's platinum hair flowed behind her in the wind, her crimson eyes locked on Conner first, then Saizou. The smirk that she wore revealed her fangs, which glittered as if they were made of silver and ivory.

"The tales! They're true! The red eyes! The silver hair! The overwhelming monster energy!" Saizou shouted as if he were narrating to himself.

"She's an S-Class super monster! A real-life vampire!" Saizou exclaimed.

Moka rested her crimson eyes on Conner, and she smirked at him, "So, you woke me up? How interesting."

Conner glanced down at the rosary and then back at Moka. Conner then nodded and said with a light chuckle, "Sorry. Guess I was too strong."

Moka tilted her head at Conner, noticing that he wasn't trembling at her presence. She glanced at Saizou, who was trembling, now muttering to himself about how he needed to pull himself together.

Moka directed her attention back to Conner, who couldn't take his eyes off of her. Moka smirked at him and nodded, "It takes more than raw strength to break the rosary free from its seal, Kent. We need to talk."

Conner crossed his arms, quickly asking, "How about we deal with Saizou first? Then-"

Moka flashed next to Saizou, kicking the orc in the chest while roaring, "Learn your place!"

Saizou was sent flying into the air, soaring away from the battleground and back towards the school. Conner watched as Saizou soared away, as he heard Moka walk next to him.

As Saizou disappeared from the site, Conner glanced over to Moka, who was looking at him intensely. Conner raised an eyebrow at Moka, who tilted her head at him and smirked.

Moka suddenly released a burst of crimson and dark monster energy around her. She smirked, hoping to see Conner jump back or jerk away in fear. Moka blinked in shock when Conner simply raised an eyebrow at her and asked in confusion, "What is that energy around you? Saizou had it before. I even noticed Keito flex some of it out at me when I first got here. I never noticed it around you until you transformed. What is it?"

Moka's look of confusion was replaced with a look of skepticism. Moka poked Conner on the chest and asked, "What kind of monster are you, Kent? You don't even recognize monster aura?"

Conner shrugged and rubbed the back of his neck, "Well…actually..."

"Aliens aren't real," Moka growled to Conner as the two of them stood at the edge of the cliff over the sea of blood. Conner opened his mouth to speak when Moka pushed her finger against his mouth as if telling him to be silent.

Conner couldn't help but smile at Moka, and Moka growled at the thought of Conner seemingly having more amusement than terror over her presence.

"I hate liars, Kent," Moka growled, and Conner carefully moved her hand off his face. Moka's body seemed to adjust and slowly position herself in a position where she could catch Conner off-guard slightly. Moka had to admit; Conner was an incredibly interesting young man. She couldn't sense any monster energy within him, yet he was able to completely overcome Saizou, who was at least an A-Class monster. Not to mention the fact that he didn't feel any intimidation or fear from her constant releases of monster energy.

Moka had released sudden bursts of monster energy during their conversation as Conner explained that he was something called a "Kryptonian." And how Kryptonians were once a great alien species that explored, protected, and sometimes dominated the galaxy. Each time Moka released her wave of energy, Conner noticed it, but he barely reacted.

"I'm not lying, Moka." Conner calmly said, which snapped Moka's attention back on him. Moka narrowed her eyes at this teenage anomaly, which caused Conner to open his arms as if making himself an open book. The Kryptonian then said, "I'm an alien. Actually, I'm…it's a bit complicated, really."

"Uncomplicate it," Moka said, flexing her energy at Conner again. Conner responded by glancing at her with a confused look. Moka began to boil in anger, and she said, "How are you doing that?"

"Doing what?" Conner asked, shrugging, "I don't know. Your monster energy stuff just doesn't work on me. Sorry."

Moka turned away from Conner, and she ran her hand over the chain that once held her rosary. For the first time in a long time, she wasn't sealed away by the rosary given to her by her family. And it was because of the boy in front of her, who claimed to be an alien. Moka glanced back at Conner, who was looking down at Moka's rosary.

'My father said that someone special would be the one to unlock my rosary.' Moka had a slight blush appearing on her cheeks as she looked at Conner. Moka then softly laughed, as she remembered what her father said, 'The person who removes your rosary will change your life forever.'

Moka's smile revealed her fangs as she watched Conner closely examine the rosary as if looking for some kind of hidden button or contraption on the rosary. Moka found the young man's focus and direct attention on the rosary amusing.

Moka smirked and said, "You know, I saw you within the rosary."

Conner looked up at Moka, and he nodded, "I felt something when I was with you. Other you. Is there really even another you? You both are Moka, right?"

"Do I remind you of the other Moka, Kent?" Moka mused, tilting her head towards Conner.

Conner crossed his arms, and he thought about a proper response. Obviously, Moka was beautiful in both her Outer and Inner forms, but there was something more tame and calm about her Outer form. She was kind and warm to be around. Conner locked eyes with Moka's true form, and he saw the coldest in her eyes. She tilted her head at Conner as if closely analyzing him. Conner was certain that he was more powerful than Moka, but he was convinced that she believed she could dominate and overwhelm him. This Moka that stood in front of him was about power, fury, and control. There was also a drive, a hunger even, for battle that Conner recognized in

m

m

. Sadly, this battle hunger was easy to recognize for Conner because he held it within himself as well.

Moka smirked and draw closer to Conner, whispering, "What's wrong? Do you prefer me over the other Moka?"

Conner cleared his throat and began to answer when he caught a hint of scent from Moka's hair. Conner smelt the same smell of strawberries that he first caught off of Moka before. The young Kryptonian couldn't help but smile at the beautiful smell, closing his eyes and sighing in delight.

Conner opened his eyes and looked at Moka, lost in her crimson eyes. This was the second time Conner found himself lost in the beauty of Moka, and he felt his heart skip a beat.

'Both Mokas are so beautiful.' Conner thought to himself. Conner then realized that there were almost as many similarities to these two Mokas as their were differences. Regardless, if Conner could find a way, he was interested to learn more about both Mokas.

Conner's thoughts were immediately cut short when Moka sank her teeth into Conner's neck. Conner moaned in pain, as Moka pulled him close to her. Moka's eyes began glowing bright crimson as she sunk her fangs deeper into Conner.

Conner lifted his hand, firmly placing it on Moka's shoulder to move her, but Moka moved her hand and attempted to slap Conner's hand away. Much to Conner's surprise, he actually felt the force of Moka's strike. It didn't hurt, but it was still a shock to him. Conner held fast, which caused Moka's eyes to open wide in shock at Conner's power.

Conner pulled Moka away, and she gasped aloud and glared at Conner like a mother might glare at a disobedient child.

"Excuse me-" Moka gasped, as if she was short of breath.

"Excuse you." Conner quickly said, cutting Moka off.

Moka smirked at Conner, watching as the Kryptonian's neck instantly healed itself. Moka looked Conner in the eyes and her smirk was replaced with a smile filled with ecstasy, "I've never drank anything so delicious before, Kent. Make sure not to die before I can get another taste."

"Watch it. I'm not your personal juice box." Conner said with force, and Moka nodded to him.

"Of course not." Moka said with a hint of sarcasm.

Conner crossed his arms, taking a step towards Moka, who responded by releasing a wave of her monster aura. Conner ignored the aura this time, causing Moka to grit her teeth at him. This made Conner smirk, and Moka blinked in confusion. She then quickly smirked back at Conner.

"You've got some gall to smirk at me, Kryptonian."

"So now you believe me?"

Moka let out a giggle, almost revealing a vulnerable side to her personality. That hint of vulnerability was immediately taken away, when Moka leaned in close to Conner and her crimson eyes began to glow brighter.

Conner blushed at the platinum-haired vampire, who smirked and nodded, "Thanks for the drink, Kent. I'll be seeing you around, I assume."

"What?"

Moka opened her hand as if waiting for Conner to give her the rosary back. Conner looked at the rosary then at Moka, and he nodded, "I still have so many questions for you? What is monster energy? How powerful are you as a vampire? Could you put up a fight against me?"

A hint of excitement came across Moka's face, and her smirk was replaced with a small grin revealing her fangs.

"I'd be happy to put you in your place, too, Kent," Moka said, fully confident in her bravado.

Conner continued, almost ignoring Moka's statement, "And if this is your true form…what is…who is…the other Moka?"

Moka's hands slipped into Conner's, and Conner couldn't help but marvel at how soft and delicate she felt in his hands. Moka titled her head to Conner and whispered in his ear, "I'll see you around, Kent."

Moka snapped the rosary out of Conner's hand, locking it back on her choker's chain. The rosary locked in pain, and Moka smirked at Conner whispering, "Thank you for watching out for the other me. Keep up the good work, Kent."

Moka fell into Conner's arms, and he held her close to his chest. Moka's body transformed back to her pink-haired form, and her body was left shivering in Conner's arms.

Conner pulled her close and thought to himself, 'This Moka…the other Moka. Which one is real?' Conner looked at the tunnel that led back to the human world and he was left with a decision. He could leave and return to Metropolis to be with Tess. Or he could stay here and find out who he could become.

"Hey Conner," Moka whispered, smiling up at Conner.

Conner knew his decision.
