Tyson Granger was happily lounging on the dojo floor after a successful practice session with the team. He glanced at his wrist watch again. It was half past four and no sign of Hilary yet. Poor girl must be embarrassed to face him after Saturday's outburst. He couldn't blame her for hiding. Looks like he would just have to make peace by finding her and reassuring her that there was always a spot open on the team for her...as their cook. Chuckling to himself he grabbed his hat and stretched. That's when from the corner of his eyes he saw Hilary marching through the dojo gate.
Tyson's face broke out in a lazy grin. "Hiya there Hilary! Fancy seeing you here. Are you here to apologize? Because if you are, then go on, I got a few minutes of down time before the next practise session with my man Kai". Kai stood expressionless, leaning against a pillar. Kenny and Max both looked visibly uneasy and Ray looked like he was about to chastise Tyson. But Hilary beat him to it. "Quit your yapping Tyson. I'm here to show you why I deserve to remain as the team coach." Tyson followed her to the beydish, chuckling. You don't have to do this Hils. You are just going to embarrass yourself in...". His words were cut off mid sentence as Hilary expertly launched a beyblade into the centre of the dish. Kenny excitedly whipped out a stop watch. "Awesome Hilary! Now I believe the terms of the challenge was that she had to keep it spinning for three minutes, am I right Tyson?" Kenny turned around to look at Tyson who was standing bug eyed, his mouth hanging open.
"Those were the terms Kenny", smirked Hilary. "Now please time me so that we can get this out of the way and focus on more important things". Tyson still seemed to be in shock as everyone else counted down the last 10 seconds. A huge cheer erupted when the little beyblade continued to spin past the three minute mark. Max creeped up to Tyson grabbing his hat. "Say Tyson, since your hat is on the menu, how would you like it served? Steamed, boiled, braised or deep fried". As Tyson bolted out the door with Max, Kenny and Hilary at his heels, Kai made his exist towards the dojo garden with a hint of a smile on his face. He heard someone following him and turned around to see Ray walking up to him.
"What a turn of events right Kai! Who knew Hilary could beyblade. It's unbelievable how she learned so quickly, that too without any help.
"We just underestimated her talents, that's all." Kai responded with a bored and impassive expression.
"Yeah, maybe you're right". Although, did you notice the way she launched her beyblade? Does that remind you of someone?" Ray asked trying hard to conceal his amusement. Kai raised his eyebrow. "I have no idea what you are talking about Kon ". Ray's laughter followed him as he walked out the dojo. And this time Kai didn't even bother concealing the smile that lit his face.
