Scents:
It's been a few days after the Trenton girls came and things still weren't sitting well with anyone. Kendall and Jackie didn't know what to think about what they said, although they had rather preferred that those girls had not have said anything, being that now their minds were clouded with what they said. While the boys didn't know how to comfort the girls being they didn't know how to bring the issue back up, especially since Jackie never once talked about her father, and Kendall's father was already a touchy topic. However, they also didn't know how to bring it up because they didn't like the fact hunters were there in Mellowbrooks now, plus they didn't want to talk about the hunters in general with the girls. There were many things running through all of their minds that they didn't like about these issues, and they didn't know what to do about it.
The boys walked the girls home from school, since the girls wanted to drop their stuff off at their homes before hanging out with the boys like they usually would. The girls, each wanted to be quick since they wanted to plan a double date for the first time with the boys, which they were excited about, not to mention it was helping get their minds off things. Jackie walked into her place, inviting Gunther in, something not feeling right to him.
"Is your mom here?" He asked, looking around, as she quickly went upstairs to go place her school stuff away.
"No." She responded from upstairs. "Why?" She tried to be quick as she came back down.
"Does she ever bring people over from her business? Or is she with…" He was walking around.
"No. She normally keeps her personal, home and business life separate." Jackie replied, somewhat interrupting. "Besides I think she's getting ready for another small business trip." Jackie thought about it. "She's been really busy lately, even though she looks so tired…" Jackie continued. She glanced at Gunther. "Why? Is something up?"
"Yeah, somethings not right." He told her. "There's a scent in here that isn't familiar."
"What do you mean?" Jackie questioned. "Like a perfume? Cause I did get some new…"
"No, Jackie not that." He interrupted her on that topic. "Someone's been in here." He glanced around again, before going upstairs to check quickly and back down checking the whole house. She watched as he did. She looked at him concerned. "Let's go, I'm already telling Kick." He spoke.
"Wait, but how…" She wanted to know.
"Not sure, but I don't like this." He brought her close as they went to Kick's. Kick and Kendall were already there when the two entered. Jackie went to go sit by Kendall.
"You're sure someone was in her house?" Kick wanted to be sure. Gunther nodded. Kick didn't like this.
"Was someone in Kendall's?" Jackie asked.
"No, but they left their scent around her place that's for sure." Kick replied.
"But who's doing this?" Kendall wanted to know.
"No idea, but they have no idea who they're dealing with." Gunther remarked. "Did you tell Brianna?" Kick nodded.
"Texted her." He told them. "She's going to investigate further, along with Loraina, Nicolette, Teena and Scarlet to see what they can pick up."
"I think in the meantime it be best if you girls stayed here or if either Brianna or us stayed with you girls, being we don't trust or know what's going on right now." Kick suggested.
"Do you think it's that dangerous?" Jackie looked at them.
"Whether it is or isn't, we're not taking any risks." Gunther assured. "We're not going to repeat anything, plus we rather make sure you girls are safe."
"Not to mention, being how things have been lately with some recent developments, it be better we stay close." Kick mentioned. The girls glanced at each other than them.
"You're talking about those girls aren't you?" Kendall wondered, her mind going back to those sisters.
"No, not just them." Kick admitted.
"Not that we're not worried about them either." Gunther spoke. "However, there are other things we're also worried about."
"Like what?" Jackie questioned.
"Well after you girls were attacked, sadly there have been…other attacks." Kick told them. "Outside of the town and in neighboring cities." The girls thought about that for a second before something came to Jackie.
"You mean the animal attacks a while back and those other weird city attacks?" Jackie recalled as she remembered the news reports bringing up some girls deaths due to attacks for the past few months. "What do those have to do with…" The boys had a look which caused her to go quiet for a bit. "Those weren't…normal attacks…were they?" She realized.
"No." Gunther replied, shaking his head. "They were vampire. Most likely from the ones who attacked you or associates of, or even something along those lines." He commented.
"The thing were trying to figure out is why they are doing it, and coming so close to here." Kick mentioned. "And why they seem to have fixation on girls that have descriptions that well…." He let out a breath. "Look like you two." Both girls' eyes widened with that.
"Us?" They reiterated.
"There may have been a reason why you were attacked, however, we're not going to let it happen again." Kick stated.
"Not again." Gunther assured. The girls nodded.
"For now, let's just focus on something else, while we wait for my sister and the others to get back to me with their investigations." Kick checked his phone. "They should be able to have something soon."
"Sounds good." Kendall agreed as she went to go sit by Kick. "I can use a change of subject."
"Same. Not sure that I like the idea of someone coming after us, because we fit their, 'type'…" Jackie commented. Gunther sat next her, comforting her.
"We won't let anything happen to you girls." He assured. "We'll figure out something, for now let's play some games or watch something. "He suggested. The girls nodding, as more rushed through their minds.
