Chapter 4

Blitz grunts and groans as he slowly opens his eyes, and feels. His eyes slowly open as he begins to look around to find himself no longer in Loo Loo Land. Instead, he finds himself in a white room of some kind with at least two chairs around, and a couch. He slowly turns his head to see a window with black curtains, slightly open to let some light inside. He soon looks to see an IV tube with a needle connected to the median cubical vein of his right arm. The tube is connected to a blood bag and a bag of saline on an IV pole. He soon notices that he has a cast on his right arm.

Blitz slowly turns his head as he softly asks, "Wha-what happened…? Where am I?"

Just then, the door opens slowly and little Octavia steps inside. Blitz is surprised, but also too tired to really care.

Octavia smiles happily at the sigh of the awakened Blitz, "Blitz!"

She runs to the bed with a big smile and climbs on the bed to sit on the edge.

Octavia happily asks, "Hi Blitz. How are you feeling? Are you okay?"

"I-I think so. My body feels very sore," Blitz says, and lets out a yawn, "And I'm also very tired."

He groans with pain in her head. Then mutters to himself, "Not to mention my head feels like it's going to split open. Fuck, I feel like I was hit by a truck."

Octavia becomes sad to see Blitz is badly hurt, and the IV tube connected to Blitz's uncasted arm.

Blitz is able to smile and says, "I'm glad to see you're okay. What happened? And where am I?"

Octavia begins to explain, "You're at my house. You were badly hurt and you lost a lot of blood, so you were placed in one of the guest rooms and got one of our doctors to look at you. However, you kind of have two pictures on your ribs, your left arm, and your skull is slightly cracked, so you have a concussion. You also have some stab wounds, most of them will heal, but one of your bad is very deep that it will scar. According to the doctor, it was a miracle that you survived, but you'll have to be in bed for a while. At least around two months."

Blitz sighs in frustration, "Shit, I must have really gotten a bad beating from those guys."

Octavia nods her head in reply.

He sighs and says, "It looks like I won't be able to head home for a while."

"That's okay. My dad said that you'll be resting here until you heal. Besides, you're going to be living at my place from now on," Octavia says with a smile.

"Wait what?" Blitz says, confused.

"Well, I proclaimed you as a knight, so you'll be staying with us from now on. As a knight, you will be staying here and be my bodyguard." Octavia says.

"Are you sure it's a good idea? I have my own place to live, and uh, sure I'm not in the best condition to stay at home…" Blitz explains.

"Don't worry, you just worry about getting better. Once you get better, you can start working with my parents as our knight, protect our family, and " Octavia says.

"Uh, this is a little much to take in. I do appreciate the gesture but, this is a bit to take in after waking up," Blitz says, arching his eyebrow.

Octavia sadly says, "I'm still sorry about everything that happened."

"Don't be, it's not your fault. It's those thugs' fault that you almost got hurt, and whoever hired them to kidnap you," Blitz says.

Then Blitz asks, "Was your dad able to find out any information about those Imps?"

"Well, with all of them um, dead, there isn't much to go on. But based on what you and I said, my dad did agree to have it investigated," Octavia says.

"I guess you're right. I killed most of the gang, and your dad turned the other to stone and crushed him into pieces," Blitz says.

He sighs and says, "I never expected your dad to turn into a fifty tall bird. Do all Goetia Demons turn into that?"

"Hmm, I don't know. My dad's transformation is the only one I know. I don't know if my mom could transform like that either," Octavia says.

"Okay," Blitz replies.

Then asks, "What does your mom think of this idea?"

Octavia becomes reluctant about explaining to him about her mother.

"What's wrong?" Blitz asks, confused.

"Well, my mom wasn't really accepting of the idea of you living with us and becoming my bodyguard because you're an Imp. Dad had to explain the whole situation to her, and my mom wasn't happy about the details," Octavia explains.

"I wouldn't blame your mother for being upset. I think I would be upset too if I heard that my kid has been kidnapped," Blitz says.

He then asks, "What exactly happened while I was knocked out?"

"Well, it happened a few days after the incident at Loo Loo Land. Mom came home after staying at a friend's house for royal duties. She ended up finding out about you and what happened at Loo Loo Land, and…" Octavia says.

Flashback:

A few days after the incident at Loo Loo Land, Octavia is having breakfast. However, she feels a little uneasy because her mother, Stella, a tall, slim, white avian demon, is scolding her father.

Octavia's mother has hair-like feathers that have gray tips and a large gray stripe on her head. She has a short pink beak, and very long curved eyelashes. She has gray markings underneath her eyes, which themselves have red sclera with light pupils. For attire, Stella wears a white dress with puffed sleeves and feather trimming, along with black accents. She is seen wearing a crown, and has painted nails underneath her black gloves.

Octavia knows that her mom can be calm and serious, but can be very scary when she gets angry. As of now, she is furious at her father.

Stella angrily asks, "I can't believe that you've decided to have an Imp staying in our fuckin home!"

"It happened so fast. We didn't really have to take him to a hospital," Stolas says.

"A Hospital? What, are you planning on paying for his medical bills?!" Stella demands.

"Well, it's the least I can do after the injuries he had to endure for rescuing our daughter," Stolas says, trying to calm his wife down.

He then says in a serious tone, "Also, He became good friends with Octavia, so he deserves to get the help he needs, especially the position she kind of well placed him in."

"Beg pardon?" Stella questions, crossing her arms with a scowl look on her face.

"He's my knight," Octavia replies.

The two parents then turn to their daughter, who has finished eating her breakfast. She climbs off the chair and walks over to them.

Once she joins her parents, Octavia explains, "Blitz is my knight. I kind of perform the accolade to Blitz, and now, he is proclaimed as my knight. He's been very nice to me whenever dad and I go to Loo Loo Land. He performs some funny tricks and tells me silly jokes. And when I got kidnapped, he came to rescue me, even though he got badly hurt. He also got fired from his job because of the damage he got into as he fought off those mean Imps. I feel bad, and he's my friend, so I proclaimed him as a knight.

Calming down, Stella asks, "So because he was being nice and rescued you, you've decided to perform the accolade on this Imp, Blitz, and you made him your knight?"

"Yes mom. He was really strong fighting that Imp in the funhouse, even though he was getting badly hurt. Blitz is very brave and very strong, I think it's perfect for him to become a knight," Octavia says, and shows a smile on her face.

Stella sighs and says, "I see."

Then glares at her husband, "And you think, it's a good idea for a Piebian to live at our residence?"

"Now, now, Stella, calm down. To answer your question, yes. I admit, it caught me off guard as well when Octavia knighted Blitz. However, the fact is that Imp had become quite acquainted with our daughter and has fought against the thugs almost to death, and did his best to keep our daughter safe," Stolas says.

"Even though he's an Imp?" Stella sternly questions.

Stolas sighs, "Stella, from what Octavia told me about us, Blitz seems to be good friends with her. He didn't have to risk his life for our daughter, but he was still able to rescue her, despite all the injuries he has received and almost on the verge of death. Also, once the Goetia knight someone, the proclamation is absolute. I think it will be good for all of us, for our daughter and for her new knight to live at our estate so he can watch over her."

"Hmmm," Stella replies, thinking.

Then Octavia begs, "Please mom. I think Blitz would do great as a knight, and we can explain to him about the rules, and his role as a knight. Please."

Stella however, turns away and isn't ready to budge.

"Just give him a chance, to prove that he is up for protecting us, especially protecting our daughter. Also considering this awarding him for protecting and being friends with our daughter," Stolas calmly says.

Stella continues to think for a bit and take in what his husband and daughter explain.

Stella sighs and turns to Stolas, "Fine. You have made a valid point. As long as he is capable of taking care of our daughter, then he'll be allowed to remain here. And from the way you describe, it seems that our daughter seems to care for him. Even though he's an Imp."

Then angrily glares at Stolas, "But I better not see that Imp step out of line or else…!"

"Of course," Stolas says, trying to calm her down.

She manages to calm down and walks away with a somewhat calm expression on her face. Once Stella is gone, Stolas lets out a sigh and shakes his head in reply.

Flashback Ends:

"And that's what happened," Octavia says.

"Yikes, your mom sounds a bit, well, scary," Blitz says.

"Yes, but my mom was able to allow it as long as you know the rules, follow your role as a knight, and try to not get on her bad side," Octavia says.

"After hearing that, it's best to steer clear of that woman's bad side. I sure don't want to see that," Blitz says.

"It's okay. Mom can be calm when nothing upsets her," Octavia says.

Then Blitz asks, "So, what exactly are the rules around your place, or the role I have as a knight."

"Well, my dad would be able to explain about it better than I do," Octavia says.

"Okay," Blitz replies.

Then asks, "So why was your mom against the idea, just because I'm an Imp?"

Octavia then lowers her head as she fidgets her fingers and looks a little nervous.

"What is it?" Blitz asks, arching his eyebrow.

"Well, my mom isn't too fond of Imps, including um, Piebians," Octavia nervously says.

Blitz rolls his eyes and says, "Oh so she's one of those types. Another reason why I'm not sure about living here."

"Don't worry, my mom is now okay with the idea, so there's nothing for you to worry about," Octavia says.

"If you say so," Blitz replies.

Just then, they both hear footsteps and Stolas walks into the room.

"Hi dad," Octavia happily says.

"Good morning Octavia, I thought I'd find you here," Stolas says.

Octavia reaches for her dad as Stolas picks her up in his arms.

Stolas then turns to Blitz and asks, "And how is our guest doing?"

"I'm, I'm doing okay. Still rather sore from the incident," Blitz says.

"That's good. You will have to be in bed for a while longer," Stolas says.

"Yeah. Octavia explained to me that my condition was uh, really bad right now, so I have to be stuck in bed for a while," Blitz says.

"Indeed. Luckily, I was able to reach you both in time before the situation got worse," Stolas says.

"I guess," Blitz calmly replies.

Stolas then sits on the bed, "Now then, I think we can take this time to discuss your new role as the knight of the Goeita."

"Okay," Blitz says.

"As you know, you've been proclaimed as a knight. Therefore you are now under the employment of the Goeita. Well, my family anyway," Stolas says.

Blitz nods his head in reply.

"As a knight, your role is to protect us from anyone ruffian that will try to attack us. You already displayed it when you protected my daughter," Stolas says.

"So, I'm supposed to be like a bodyguard?" Blitz asks.

"Yes. You will be mainly in charge of guarding my daughter when she goes out, especially after the incident. You know, like keeping an eye on her when she goes out, goes to school, and some of her lessons," Stolas says.

"Okay," Blitz says.

"And I will probably also need you to accompany me from time to time during my duties, I will need you to do a few tasks. And that's about it. Do you think you can handle that?" Stolas says.

Blitz nods his head, "Okay. I'll do my best."

"Excellent. Now, it will be best for you to rest for a couple more weeks so that you can begin with your rehabilitation," Stolas says.

"Okay," Blitz says.

"Are you sure you're going to be okay? You look very tired?" Octavia asks.

"I'll be fine. I've gotten a lot worse than this. Well, maybe not as worse than what I've been through, but it'd take a lot to keep me down. I tell you about it, but I don't think it's appropriate for you to handle it, and keep it that way," Blitz says.

"Okay," Octavia replies.

Suddenly, Blitz feels his stomach growling.

Blitz nervously chuckles and says, "Uh, you don't mind if I can uh, get something to eat."

"It's no trouble," Stolas says.

He then stands up and walks to the door, "I'll ask the seven to bring you something to eat. We can discuss more about your rehabilitation once your wounds are fully healed. And once your rehabilitation is done, we can discuss your training and the rules of the household," Stolas says.

"Sounds like a lot to do once I'm no longer in a cast," Blitz says.

Octavia nods her head, "That's right. And since you're going to be part of the Goeita employment as a knight, there is a lot to do. At least that's what dad said."

"Indeed, and once your training and rehabilitation are finished, you're officially announced to be a knight of the Goetia," Stolas says.

"Okay," Blitz says.

He smiles and says, "And I promise to do my best while being under your employment."

"That's good to hear. For now, focus on healing your wounds and we can discuss the details when you're better," Stolas says.

"Right," Blitz says.

Before Stolas leaves, he says to his daughter, "Oh Octavia, don't forget to get ready for school. We'll be leaving in an hour."

"Okay dad," Octavia says.

Stolas then leaves the room, leaving Octavia and Blitz in the room.

Octavia then says, "I gotta go to school soon, so I hope you'll be fine on your own."

"Eh, I'll be fine. I'm still feeling kind of tired from the incident," Blitz says.

"Okay. I'll see you later," Octavia says.

"Bye," Blitz says.

Octavia then takes her leave as Blitz continues to lie on the bed all alone.

Blitz sighs and says, "I guess my life is going to change a lot after this. I have to make sure I work hard on this. Still, me being a knight, and becoming an employee of the Goetia is a lot to take in. But still…"

He then remembers the good time that he had with Octavia. He remembers her laughing and smiling to hear his jokes and seeing his performances. He also takes her around the park, playing games, and having snacks during his break, which is most of the time.

He then remembers Blitz fighting the imp in the funhouse, and has Octavia wrapped in his arms and plans to protect her at all cost.

"Octavia is important to me. I wanted to protect her, and I plan to continue to protect her," Blitz says to himself.

He then looks out the window and says, "It looks like my life is going to become different from now on. And I don't plan on wasting it, for Octavia, and for myself. I'll be sure to give it my all."

For the rest of the day, Blitz has his bandages changed and his wounds checked by the doctor, and has been given delicious food to eat. He is grateful for the help, but also feels helpless of not being able to get out of bed until his injuries are healed. Stolas and Octavia come by once in a while to check on him, and give Blitz something to do. Later in the night, Blitz is now happily sleeping in the room on the soft bed. Unknown to Blitz, someone opens the door and climbs on the bed. He soon feels someone sleeping close to him. He slowly opens his eyes and looks to see Octavia is sleeping next to him, possibly to keep him company. Blitz simply smiles and goes back to sleep for the night.
