Notes: In my story the therapist role is played by Nicole Ari Parker. Some of you may recognize the therapist name because it's the therapist from the serie Rosewood.
It was 6 pm now and Andy was preparing herself to knock on the door which had the words Kat Crawford written on it. She tried to calm herself by breathing in and out pacing around. After a few minutes she finally got the courage to knock on the door. A friendly voice answered, 'Come in.'. She got in and saw her therapist sitting across the room. She was an African American woman with curly brown hair and blonde tips and smooth green eyes. 'Hey, you must be Andy Herrera, Michelle's cousin. I'm Doctor Kat Crawford. Have a seat.' She said pointing towards the couch in front of her. Andy kept walking in nervously tightening her hand into a fist. 'Hey, nice to meet you.' Andy gives her a handshake and sits on the couch. 'So, your cousin told me you could use someone to talk to. Can you tell me why you decided to come here?' She asked while putting the glasses on her face and grabbing a pencil and a notebook. 'I don't know where to start.' Andy said playing nervously with her hands. 'Start from the beginning.' The therapist encouraged Andy to talk. 'Well...when I was 9 I though my mom died but...one year ago, after my father's death, I found out that...she was pretty much alive and that she had abandoned me when I was little.' Andy said looking down trying not to start crying. 'I'm so sorry to hear that. How did that made you feel?' Kat asked calmly with an understanding look knowing that it was a sensible theme for Andy. 'Angry, sad. Like all my life was a lie.' Andy let a few tears slip through her eyes and then wiped the tears away with her hands and continued 'And then I ended up losing the man I love because I was not able to deal with all these problems at the same time.'. Andy was a mess by now. Remembering that she lost the only man she had truly loved made her feel empty, like her life didn't make sense anymore, at least not without him. She missed his touch, his smoothies, his soft perfume, being in his arms, cuddle with him...She missed him and there was nothing she could do to fix things, at least that's what she though. Andy got pushed back to reality with Doctor Crawford words, 'Can you tell me about your husband?'. Andy put herself together and started talking while a few tears still slip through her cheeks 'He...He's a firefighter too... He was a marine before becoming a firefighter...He's tall, strong, smart, a loving husband...He's the only man I ever truly loved...'. Andy started sobbing so she took a moment to breath in and out and tried to calm herself down. 'How did you two met?' Doctor Kat asked trying to get Andy to think about the happy moments with her husband instead of the sad ones. 'He came to Station 19 to replace my dad's position as captain. Then we started hanging a lot as friends and eventually fell in love but couldn't be together because of protocols. After some time, we finally started dating. My dad was dying. Robert proposed to me, and I said yes because I loved him, and I wanted my dad to walk me down the aisle.' Andy stopped for a minute and put her hands covering her face while she started crying. The therapist saw that something was going on and she knew it was about something that Andy hasn't told her yet so she got up and grabbed a glass of water from the center table in the room and gave it to Andy so she could calm herself down. Andy drank the water and while still grabbing the cup with her shaking hands she said, 'We lost our baby, and it was my fault.'.
At 19 Robert was talking with his sponsor on the rooftop. They were leaning against the small wall on the edge of the rooftop drinking their coffees and appreciating the view while talking. 'How am I going to live without her?' Robert asked devastated leaning his arms on the small wall and looking down. Like Andy, Robert was devastated too. He couldn't believe he was really going to divorce the only woman he loved after Claire, the woman hestayed sober for, the woman who was by his side when he had surgery, the woman who was always there for him not only in the happy moments but also in the sad ones. 'It's not going to be easy, but you'll be ok.' Doctor Webber said while patting Robert's back with a recomforting look. 'Today I was on a call and 23was there, but Andy wasn't with them, so I asked her friend Theo from 23 if he knew anything about her and he told me she was taking a few days off because she was not ok. Then he told me I should go see her. I wanted to do that, but I didn't even know where she was staying. Should I find out and go see her?' Robert vented while shaking his leg thinking about what he should do about the situation. Doctor Webber could see how broken Robert was and he knew that the only thing that could help him tranquilize at that moment was visiting Andy and see how she was doing. He was worried about Robert having a breakdown due to this because it could cause him to mess up all the progress, he has made with his addiction. 'You got to do what you believe is going to make you feel better so if that is talking to Andy, I think you should go.' Doctor Webber advised Robert and they stayed silent thinking, looking at the view and drinking the rest of their coffees.
I hope you like it. Let me know what you are thinking about the story until now. Sorry for the short chapters but with university I don't have much time left to write.
