The next day Andy woke up feeling regret. She knew her cousin was right about her always running away from her problems and not letting people explain their mistakes. So today she decided she would try to talk to Robert and let him explain what really had happened. It was now the middle of the shift and Andy was at the Station on the captain's office doing some paperwork from the earlier calls. Until now they only had some minor fire calls or aid car calls so there were not too many papers to fill. Suddenly the fire alarm rang, and Andy quickly got up from her office chair and ran to the barn, dressing her turn out and entering in the engine, while her team did the same and then they all left the station.

When they got there, they saw a residential building what it looked like 4 floors all on fire and some people screaming at the windows for help. 19 was already at the scene and firechief Natasha Ross was the one responsible for the call since the situation was out of control. As they got out of the engine, they quickly made their way to the firechief to know the fire status. 'Hey chief. What is the status?' Andy asked as soon as she was close to Chief Ross. '19! Residential fire out of control. We still have 20 people inside of which 4 are children and one is a 6 months baby. 19 is already inside for search and rescue. Change all your radios to channel 3. Captain Herrera you can go in too on this call. Now divide your team in groups of two and get to work.' Chief Ross said in a firm tone while the team listened carefully to every detail. 'Copy chief.' Andy replied. As they got back to the engine to get the material Andy started giving orders. 'Barnes and Maddox you're on evac, Duval and Larsson you're on evac too, Ruiz you are with me on evac, and the rest is on aid car. Don't forget to turn your radios to channel 3. Let's go team! Move!' Andy gave the orders firmly while everyone listened with attention. After hearing the orders everyone got the materials they needed and ran to the building.

Inside the building 19 was divided in groups too, Warren was with Sullivan, Bishop was with Gibson, and Higgins was with Russell, while the rest of the team was helping outside, including Hughes and Montgomery who were on the aid car. While running up the stairs 23 crossed against Gibson and Bishop who were getting out with a family of 4 adults. While this was happening, Chief Ross asked 19 their status through the radio. '19! What is your status?'. 'Me and Gibson are getting out now with four adults. The left side of the 4th floor still needs to be checked.' Bishop answered while indicating the way to the group of adults and Jack followed them behind. 'Copy.' While Ross answered she saw Higgins and Russell getting out with two adults and two kids so she didn't needed to ask their status. 'Sullivan. Warren. What's your status?' Natasha asked a little more worried just by imagine that Robert was on that building on fire. 'We are having some problems getting one of the kids out and we have the baby too.' Robert answered trying to calm down the fussy baby in his arms while Warren was trying to convince the kid to get out from under the bed. Hearing this Andy didn't think twice before answering the radio. 'Sullivan we are coming to you to help you.' She answered not leaving space for Natasha to complain about her action. 'Copy. Thank you.' Robert answered with a sweet and calm voice while bouncing side to side trying to calm the baby in his arms. Andy couldn't help but notice the baby's voice crying on the other side of the radio and remember what she had been through, but she knew the had to focus so she shook her head and continued her way up the stairs to the 4th floor with Theo by her side and the rest of the 23 behind. When they got to the 4th floor Andy immediately made her way to where Robert was, and Theo followed her while the rest of the team went the opposite way. Entering the kids room on that appartement Andy saw Robert trying to calm the fussy baby not having any success while Ben was on his knees trying to convince the 6 year old kid to get out from under the bed. Theo immediately went to help Ben with the kid while Andy approached Robert. He didn't even notice her approaching him cause he was to focused doing sweet faces and singing lullabies trying to calm the fussy baby on his arms. Seeing him with the baby just made Andy smile thinking how good he would've been as a father. 'Hey let me help you.' She spoke making Robert immediately rise his head to look at her. She positioned her arms to receive the baby and Robert gave him to her. Andy started to bounce side to side singing the lullaby her father used to sing to her, 'Hush little mi hijo don't you cry, papa's gonna buy you a pumpkin pie...'. Looking at her Robert couldn't stop think how a good mom Andy would be and that made him remember what had happened to their baby which made him let a tear out of his eyes. He quickly cleared the tear away but not before Andy saw him. By now the baby was already calm in Andy's arms and Theo and Ben where finally able to get the kid out so Andy passed the baby to Robert again gently while Ben picked up the 6 year old kid walking his way out of the building with him in his arms. Robert followed Ben with the baby in his arms trying not to wake him up again.

After seeing the rest of 19 getting out to the entrance doors, Chief Ross called on the radio again for updates. '23. What is your status?' She asked worried cause the fire was spreading really fast and the structure of the building was already compromised. 'Me and Barnes are getting out now with two elders and two adults.' Maddox spoke while helping one of the elders to walk. 'Copy.' The chief spoke and right after Duval answered too. 'Me and Larsson are getting out now too with four adults.' Duval spoke while leading the way down the stairs. 'Copy.'. Right after and spoke to and gave her status. 'Me and Ruiz and walking now to the last apartment.'. 'Copy.' Natasha answered and waited for the team to exit the building.

Andy and Theo were making their way now to the only apartment who wasn't checked out yet and as they entered in it their immediately hear a kid cry. While walking in the plan floor to the living room area and heard the kid say, 'I'm down here.', and then she looked under the dinning table and found the kid hiding in there with his arms embracing his legs and pushing them close to his chest. Theo helped the kid getting out from under the table and carried him on his lap to the corridor while Andy followed them behind and gave the chief the updates. 'Chief we found the last civilian. We are getting out with the kid now.'.

While they were going out with the child, who was on Theo's lap grabbing his neck with his little arms, part of the roof fell between Andy and Theo which blocked the corridor leaving Andy trapped. With all the dust in the air Theo couldn't see Andy which got him worried. 'Herrera! Are you ok?' Theo yelled trying to get an answer from the other side of the blocked corridor. 'Yeah I'm fine.' Andy answered. The kid on Theo's arms got scared with all the noise he had just heard so he started crying leaving Theo lost between the kid who was crying and his captain who was trapped. 'Ruiz you got to get that kid out of here. I will try to find another way to get out.' Andy said just thinking about the kids life and not about the fact that she was trapped in a building on fire. 'I'm not gonna leave you here. I will call for backup.' Theo said not wanting to let his captain and friend there alone. 'Ruiz get that kid out of here now! That's an order!' Andy yelled at him now while the kid started crying even harder. 'Ok but I'm gonna come back with backup. In the meantime, try to find another way out.' Theo replied leaving the corridor and getting down the stairs towards the building exit door. Andy knew she was trapped and that there was no other way out but at least now she was relieved cause the kid was already in safety.

Everyone saw Ruiz getting out with the last kid but no signs of Herrera. Ruiz rushed to the nearest stretch and putted the kid there and run back again towards the building but then he was stopped from the firechief. Chief Ross stood in front of him not letting him get in the building which got Theo pissed. 'With all the respect chief I got to get back in the building. My captain and friend is trapped in there and I got to help her.' Theo said not noticing that he was talking a bit to loud and that everyone could hear him loud and clear. 'The building structure is compromised. I'm but I'm not letting anyone inside to die. And that's an order!' The chief said firmly with a serious face not noticing that she was a bit too loud at the end too. Theo finally backed off angrily turning his hands into fists while the chief did the same.

Watching the building on flames the chief finally called Herrera on the radio trying to know her status. 'Herrera do you copy?'. 'Yes chief.' Andy said while walking through the corridor not seeing anything that it was in front of her because of the dusty air. 'What is your status?' Chief Ross asked in a hurry. 'I'm trying to find another way out but until now I haven't found anything yet.' Andy said already knowing that she wouldn't find another way out cause she was trapped there. 'Keep looking for another way out. We are going to try do anything on our power to get you out of there as soon as possible.' Natasha said firmly. 'Copy chief.'. With that Andy kept looking for another way out while Robert started to freak out. Walking towards the chief Robert started yelling with a worried and angry voice, 'We got to do something! We can't leave her there to die!'. His eyes were swollen and red and everyone could see how much he was suffering. Before Robert could say another thing Ben got between him and the chief and said with a calm and tranquilizing voice 'Come on man. Come with me.'. As Robert started to walk with Ben he heard Andy call on the radio again. 'Sullivan...Robert...are you there?' Andy asked through the radio while breathing heavily. Everyone was shocked hearing what Andy just had called him but it only took them a few seconds to understand why she was calling him on the radio. They knew she was calling him because she knew she was not getting out of there alive and that broke everyone' heart. 'Hey. I'm here.' Robert said in a sweet and calm voice. 'I'm sorry...I'm sorry I ran away from you. I'm sorry I didn't let you explain...' Andy said while her breathing started to go on a fastest pace, and trying to keep the tears in her eyes she continued with what she wanted to say 'I'm sorry for our baby...'. With that both Andy and Robert broke down in tears while the teams face changed from worried to shocked. 'Baby?' Travis said in shock while all of them kept looking at Robert. 'Hey listen to me. That wasn't your fault ok. That wasn't anyone's fault. Now get up and find a way out of there please.' Robert tried to calm her down and encouraged her to look for a way out. 'I can't...I tried...There is no way out...' Andy said hopeless while kneeling on the floor still heavily breathing. After a few minutes of silence Andy broke the silence and said her final words. 'I...I love you.' She said heavily breathing with the noise of the beeping from her oxygen bottle, which meant low oxygen, filling the room. 'Andy don't say that...please...I need you...' He was desperate. The tears running down his face were visible in the distance. He couldn't believe that after everything he had been through, he was going to lose the love of his life again. 'I'm so...' Was all Andy could say before part of the roof fell again and hit her making a loud noise that was heard in the distance. 'Andy! Andy!' Robert yelled her name with tears streaming down his face.

He was freaking out. He couldn't stay there without doing nothing, so he grabbed his gear again. Seeing what he was doing and knowing what his intentions were Chief Ross went to him. 'What do you think you're doing lieutenant?!' She almost yelled at him. 'I'm going in there to safe my wife and there's nothing you can say to stop me.' Robert spoke loudly and ran towards the building not letting Natasha even say a word. As he ran through the building all that he could see was flames, destruction, and dust in the air. He made his way to Andy's last location and already on the corridor saw that when the roof fell, it broke one of the lateral walls of the corridor which helped him to get to the other side of the corridor and look for Andy. As he was walking through the dusty air, he started hearing the beeping from Andy's oxygen bottle. He couldn't see anything in front of him because of the dust and smoke in the air but the noise started to become louder and louder, so he knew he was on the right path. While walking to the sound his feet hit what in felt like a human. Kneeling and looking closer he saw that it was Andy. She had a shelf over her and was inconscient. With every strength in his body Robert took the shelf off of Andy then kneeled down again and turned her around. He saw that she was inconscient, so he immediately put his hand on her neck. 'Come Andy. Come on.' He said with teras running through his cheeks while trying to find her pulse. After some seconds that it seemed like an eternity for him, he finally felt her pulse and let out a sign of relief. 'I'm gonna get you out of here baby.' He said as he picked her up. After some time he got out of the building with Andy in his arms. Everyone was shocked to see their friend motionless body in Robert's arms but Ben and Travis got their hands to the job and focused only in their friend grabbing a stretcher and running towards Robert. Robert put her in the stretcher carefully, took his mask off and started giving the team all the information they needed to know. 'She had a shelf over her. She's bleeding from her head, and she has a pulse but it's very weak.' Robert said trying to keep the tears from running down his eyes. 'We got to take her to Grey's now!' Ben yelled while rushing the stretcher towards the aid car with Travis help. They were putting her in the aid car and before they could say anything Robert shouted, 'I'm coming with you.'. They got into the aid car. Robert was in the back with Andy while Ben and Travis were in the front. Robert was sitting in the seat close to Andy, holding her hand with one of his while the other rested on her head. 'I'm sorry for everything...Please don't leave me...I need you...You got to fight...' He said with tears falling from his eyes kissing Andy's hand several times. 'I love you.' He said and then he approached her and gave her a kiss on her forehead. With that the monitor started beeping. Andy was having a cardiac arrest. Robert quickly got up and started doing CPR on her while being hit by the questions from the front of the ambulance. 'Sullivan. What's going on?' Ben asked already knowing what was going on by just listening the sounds coming from the monitor. 'She's in cardiac arrest. Hurry up!' Robert yelled desperately scared of losing the love of his life while he let the tears fall from his red and swollen eyes. While doing CPR Robert kept talking to Andy trying someway to bring her back with his voice. 'Andy...baby...please...you need to fight...I can't lose you too...You are the love of my life...'.
