Well, this was an idea I had stuck in my head and when I finally got time to write instead of wanting to write more of my other story (Ichio's death-godhood) I wanted to start this one but never fear if for some reason you're coming over here to this RWBY story from my bleach hololive crossover story I'm not dropping the other story just putting it on the back burner for a little bit also I made a promised to myself that I would never start more then 3 projects at a time and since I have 2 stories and a lil something something in real life I will not be starting any more stories or anything like that tell one of the 3 is completed so don't worry about me being one of those authors that starts 20 stories at once and doesn't finish any of them. Ok time to start the story.
Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past.
Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness – creatures of destruction – the creatures of Grimm – set their sights on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void.
However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named "Dust".
Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life. But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die. And when they are gone... darkness will return.
So you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called "free world", but take heed... there will be no victory in strength. But perhaps victory is in the simpler things that you've long forgotten things that require a smaller more honest soul or perhaps a simple more divergent soul, a soul descended from a long line of true warriors.
Silver eyed warriors are warriors known not for their great victories over the grimm or the thousands of lives they have saved, no the Silver eyed warriors are instead feared for their brutal and vicious ways of fighting along with their unimaginable power and piercing silver gazes.
While many would call anyone born with silver eye's a true born hero it would be much more accurate to call said "hero" a natural born killer. The silver-eyed warriors are warriors possessing a natural talent and instinct for killing even greater than the monsters they hunt. Even more powerful than their killer instincts are their inhuman strengths and wills a silver-eyed warrior's will can never be truly broken or shattered just like their strong bodies will hold up against the harshest conditions life can throw at them.
At this very moment, one of these silver-eyed warriors' lights was dimming soon to flicker and die. Soon this brave warrior would realize the foolishness of abandoning her daughters to fight the forces of evil. Soon Summer Rose would come to regret her instinctual lust for battle that she knew would be passed on to her daughter.
Summer panted as she ran through the land of darkness many powerful grimm following behind her. She turned around pulling a spherical light blue metal orb from her cloak. The orb glowed blue as she threw it like a baseball directly at the horde of grimm following behind her. There was a rush of cold air and a bright light as the grimm were encased in a large ice crystal preventing them from perusing Summer any longer.
Summer continued running as fast as she could after throwing the littoral ice grenade she knew that wasn't the last of the grimm that would be after her and with her current injuries she stood no chance against them. Her left arm was bent at an unnatural angle with a part of the bone breaking out of the skin. Her once white cloak was stained in her own crimson red blood and the murky black blood of the grimm she had slain. She had multiple claw and slash marks covering her entire body along with a large hole going through one side of her stomach and exiting out her back. There was also a large burn covering the left side of her face her left eye was clenched shut most likely to never be used again due to the third-degree burns covering her face.
Summer kept running even as she heard more footsteps gather behind her even as her legs burned and her entire body screamed in pain she still continued on, never slowing or stumbling she knew even the tiniest relaxation on her part would certainly be her end. At this point, the trail of blood that followed her path had more blood in it than her body, Summers already pale skin looked ghostly white.
Her eyes widened as her feet skidded to a stop, in front of her stood a massive horde of grimm. There were easily thousands, any kind you could think of from the more common beowolf to a couple of drakes. Summer gritted her teeth drawing a dagger from inside her cloak she lost her main weapon during her earlier fight with Salem so she was left with this dagger for a spare. "Come at me you fuckers I'll make sure to take at least half of you with me." Summer roared at the top of her lungs. The grimm growled at her in anger before charging at her intending to shred her to pieces with their claws.
Summer rolled out of the way of a speedy beowolf her left arm erupting in pain due to the sudden weight forced on it. She grit her teeth and stabbed her dagger directly into the beowolfs head puncturing its brain and killing it instantly. in the time it took her to dispatch the beowolf many more grimm had charged forwards attempting to trample her but Summer wasn't a trained huntress for nothing she ripped the dagger out of the beowolfs head and leaped high in the air avoiding the stampede of grimm that had just charged her.
Of course, even in the air, the creatures of grimm would give her no time to breathe. Multiple young nevermore were flying straight at her talons primed to turn her into mincemeat. Summer in a less than a second sheathed her dagger and pulled out a red SMG (think red mac 10) She squeezed the trigger bullets flying straight into the various nevermore attacking her. Not only did the bullets manage to kill the various nevermore but they also managed to slightly shift the direction she fell in so instead of falling directly into the horde of grimm she fell onto the head of an ursa. In one fluid motion Summer holstered her Mac-10 drew her dagger and slit the ursa's throat.
Summer ducked to avoid a beowolf that thought it could attack her while her back was turned as the beowolf flew over her head she slashed at the beowolfs neck cutting open the beowolfs throat spraying herself in more black grimm blood.
Summer continued fighting using some more of her unique grenades and using the rest of the mags for her MAC. She had managed to take out hundreds of the grimm but even a mighty warrior like her couldn't keep fighting with these severe injures for too long.
"Fuck" Summer grunted out looking down at the black spike piercing through her chest. She had no idea where this spike came from but it didn't matter it was piercing through her entire repertory system there would be no just shacking this one off this was her end. Summer looked upwards at the shattered moon in the sky. The sounds of the grimm charging her in an attempt to finish her off fading. She closed her eye her body feeling heavy. Ruby, Yang, Tai, I'm sorry.
In a small house in a small village, everything was peaceful. A family was calmly sleeping unaware of the fate of Summer, the family she was forced to leave behind. Their house is a two-story log cabin with a sheet metal roof in dull red. The interior of the home features wooden walls and floorboards throughout the house. The entire house was coated in a blanket of darkness. Until the loud shrieking of a toddler broke through the silence "Waaaaaaaaaaaaa!" A light flipped on in the house accompanied by the stomping of Taiyang Xiao Long towards his daughter's room. Taiyang swept Ruby into his hands cradling her close to his chest "Shhhhhhhh" "Shhhhhhhhh" "Daddys hear for you it's fine" Instead of calming down at the presence of one of her parents like usual her wails only grew louder. "WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Ruby screamed, Tai grit his teeth at the deafening noise assaulting his ears.
"Dad?" A tired voice called from behind him turning around he saw his older daughter Yang standing in the doorway rubbing her eyes sleepily
"Yang honey it's fine just go lay back down... please"
"B-but what's wrong with ruby?" She asked him innocently.
"I... I don't know I think she might have had a bad dream" Ruby was still screaming at the top of her lungs at this point Tai was worried for her little vocal cords screaming at the top of her lungs for this long was definitely not good but he decided to calm down yang before worrying about ruby. "Listen... Yang your sister had a bad dream and isn't feeling too good if you go lay down I promise I'll convince mommy to make some cookies when she gets back."
"You pinky promise," she asked holding her pinky out to him, he smirked at her shifting ruby to one arm and interlocked his pinky with yangs "Pinkey promise."
Yang had retreated back to her room so he decided to focus on calming his youngest. It was clear that just holding her and comforting her wasn't helping so he decided to check out more common things. Dirty diaper, no, was she cold, no she seemed quite warm actually, when he offered her a sippy cup of water she screamed even louder. It seemed most of the normal things that a baby would wake up screaming about late at night did not apply here. He tried phoning Summer even though he knew she was on a mission, as expected she didn't answer. At this point, ruby's voice had grown horse and she had burst into couping fits a couple of time's but as soon as they were over she just counted screaming. At this point, he didn't know what to do as far as he was aware she was fine she didn't seem sick or hurt in any way nor did she seem to want anything she just kept screaming. At some point, her voice gave out and she quit screaming and was just silently crying her young vocal cords couldn't handle the strain of screaming for hours. After about two more hours she grew silent and fell back asleep. After wiping the snot and tears off her face he placed her back into her bed and went down to the kitchen preparing himself a cup of coffee.
The sun was already starting to rise so he decided instead of going back to sleep he would make breakfast for his children in a little bit but before that he would surf the web for anything about your baby waking up screaming in the middle of the night. He had been surfing the web for about 30 minute's most of the stuff he found wouldn't help him in any way, stuff about sickness or being hot or cold things that he knew didn't apply to Ruby. Right when he was getting ready to give up on the internet he saw an article name that caught his eye. It said "Parents and young children share a bond that transcends science" He clicked on the article curious about what it meant by transcends science. After quickly reading through it he briefly summarised it in his head. Basically, there are a lot of cases where young children age 6 and below were able to sense when their parents were in danger and sometimes even prevent said danger. "It's weird but out of all the articles I just read through this one seems the most plausible considering she's on a mission Summer being in danger makes sense." He muttered putting his head in his hands.
Tai moved to the living room turning the TV on, volume low of course. After channel surfing for a while he settled on the news trying to see if there was anything important going on he needed to know about. Besides some stuff about a peaceful white fang protest that happened yesterday and talking about a new restaurant in Vale he would like to take the girls to some time it seemed like there was nothing very interesting.
Glancing at his scroll he saw that it was getting close to the time for Yang to be getting up so he decided to go start breakest. He decided to go with something easy yet tasty bacon fried in a pan with eggs and toast nothing fancy but still good. He had just made himself and Yang a plate when he heard Yang's light footsteps approaching him.
"Whatcha make dad it smells good."
"Eggs toast and bacon" at the mention of bacon Yang's eyes grow wide and a line of drool made its way out of her mouth. "Baconnnnnn!" She shouted running up to her chair and jumping onto it.
Tai slid Yang's plate in front of her "Enjoy" he smirked digging into his own food. As soon as Yang's plate was in front of her she began savagely devouring her bacon manners be damned.
After Tai and Yang destroyed their food they put their plates in the sink and cleaned Yang up (Her entire face was covered in bacon grease and egg yolk) After they got cleaned up Tai put on a cartoon Yang liked and sat down and the couch dialing a number on his scroll.
"Hello, Ozpin speaking" a nearly bored-sounding voice answered the phone.
"Good morning Oz" Tai spoke into the phone sounding amused.
"Oh Tai it's you, how is your morning" Ozpin responded his voice sounding less bored and more amused.
"Tiring hows your's" Tai answered.
"Boring" Ozpin flatly answered.
"Well I'm assuming Summer hasn't returned from her mission yet considering your morning would be significantly less boring if she had returned"
"You are correct Summer has yet to even report in let alone return from her mission. Which is odd considering the mission she was sent on was rather easy for someone of her skill level"
"Yeah taking on beowolfs isn't exactly hard" "Well Oz if you get any news from Summer please tell me immediately I have a bad feeling"
"Of course Tai when she reports in you'll be the first to know."
"Ok thanks, I need to take care of Yang she managed to bury herself under a large pile of her toys and is asking for my help" Tai thanked gratefully
"Of course any time Tai, now go take care of your buried daughter" Ozpin chuckled.
After playing around with Yang for a bit and "saving" her from her toys Tai decided it was time to do something other than watch cartoons and play. Without saying anything he slinked off to Ruby's room. Quietly opening the door he walked over to Ruby's cradle looking inside he saw her face she seemed to be uncomfortable and was moving her head back and forth it looked like she was having a bad dream. He wanted to wake her up and comfort her but he remembered what Summer told him multiple times "Never wake up a sleeping baby even if they're having nightmares not only will it mess with their sleep schedule but more often than not it'll just make the baby more scared." Tai sighed he wanted to help but he knew after the rough night she had it would be better for her to get her rest. With that taken care of he made his way back to the living room, it's not smart to leave your four-year-old unattended even if it's for only three minutes.
The legendary hunter Taiyang Xiao Long stood his ground facing his one true enemy an enemy that he would never be able to defeat an enemy that will plague him tell the end of his days the dreaded PUPPY DOG EYE'S! Yang wanted to go outside and play. While Taiyang did like the fact that his daughter wanted to go outside and play and by proxy get some exercise and on any other day he would have agreed without any hesitation but today was different if Ruby woke up and needed him while he was outside and he wasn't here for her then he would feel like a failure of a father and Yang couldn't play outside without an adult to supervise her due to the grimm that inhabited the forest of patch. "I'm sorry Yang but I need to stay inside to keep an eye on Ruby and I'm not letting you go out there alone." He did it, for the first and probably only time in his life Taiyang resisted the OP puppy dog eyes.
"But dad I wanna go outside why don't we just wake Ruby up"
"Do you want me to wake you up after you sat up half of the night screaming?" He answered her question with a question of his own.
"Well... no... but I don't stay up late screaming"
"Not anymore but when you were a baby like Ruby you certainly did," He teased her ruffling her hair earning a glare from his daughter.
Tai played with Yang a little longer before he made them lunch. A nice turkey sandwich for each of them (no tomatoes for Yang of course) and an apple to munch on, simple but efficient. Finishing his sandwich first Tai stood up from the table and went to check on Ruby again.
Once again entering her room and peering inside her cradle, she seemed to be even more disturbed than before. Small tears were falling from her eyes accompanied by little wines of what sounded like pain. Tai retched his hand towards her face intent on wiping the tears away. His finger was little more than a centimeter away from her face when her eye's shot open. Instead of screaming like the previous night she simply wept lifting her small hand in her father's direction and clenching and unclenching them "Dadda dada" she wined out. Understanding the simple gesture Tai picked his daughter up placing her head against his chest gently.
"Dadda mamma mamma" Ruby was definitely trying to tell him something, something that had to do with summer if he was to guess but considering she only knew two words there wasn't much she could tell him. As he stared at her confused she grew more distraught. Her cries grew louder along with her shouts of "DADDA MAMMA MAMMA!" Taiyang sighed exiting Ruby's room walking into the living room.
Sitting on the couch Taiyang brought Ruby closer to him hugging her. Without being told to do so Yang walked up to them and joined in on their hug. Rubys wines grew quieter comforted in her family embrace. After a couple more minutes she seemed to be calmed down enough to be let down so Taiyang set her down allowing her to stand up and do what she wanted but instead of going and playing with toys or asking for food like he expected her to do she just flopped down onto the couch and layed down staring out of a window being the closest to lost in thought as a two-year-old could be.
For weeks after the night Ruby woke up screaming they waited, waited for Summer to return every day that she was gone Ruby grew less cheerful seeming to lose all the joy in life. Ruby would wake up eat then sit down in the same spot on the couch staring out the window. It didn't take long for Tai to grow worried for his wife the mission she had been sent on was to clear out a pack of beowolfs from a village nothing that would require to be gone for more than 3 or 4 days. So when there had been nothing, not even a report of how the mission was going he understandably grew worried. One phone call to Ozpin later and Qrow was sent to the village to check on his teammate. When Qrow returned he revealed that the village had been destroyed, burnt to the ground any villagers were devoured by the grimm, the only signs that Humans ever lived there were large pools of blood dried to the ground. Of course Qrow searched the surrounding forest for signs of survivors or Summer but it seemed like the forest had been completely undisturbed.
Taiyang didn't want to admit it but it was almost certain his wife was dead if the village was destroyed that would mean one thing and one thing only, Summer had failed to protect the village. Summer would've protected that village to her final breath, her final report to Ozpin revealed she was on route to the village and would arrive in an hour.
Qrow couldn't accept the death of his teammate and friend that easily so he searched the forest surrounding the village in a ten-mile radius, his search revealed absolutely nothing there was no life, no evidence of Summer. It didn't take long for Summer to officially be declared MIA with no proof of her death she was considered missing instead of dead.
The sun beamed down warming the ground and the people below. It was a very bright and sunny day. The weather didn't suit the occasion, Summer rose's funeral.
On a cliff on the island of Pach stood a large group of people, people paying their respects to the fallen huntress Summer rose. While many would say since she was MIA there was still a good chance of finding her in hiding or something along those lines anyone that knew Summer would know that she wasn't the type of person to run from her problems or abandon her family.
Taiyang stared at his daughters they stood in front of Summers's gravestone. The pain he felt when Qrow revealed that Summer was missing and there were no signs of her in the area of the village was horrible but that pain was nothing compared to having to tell his children that their mother was gone.
Ruby stared at the gravestone she seemed frozen barely blinking staying still as a statue. Tai hated to see his once cheerful practically glowing daughter this depressed. There was nothing he could do this wasn't the type of wound he could cure by telling her everything would be alright and hugging her tightly no this was the type of wound only time could heal. All he could do was be there for his daughters to be their pillar of support in this otherwise trying time.
Yang seemed less sad than her sister she seemed more confused she knew that Summer was gone but she didn't realize that Summer was never coming back. Tai would have thought it would be the other way around but it seemed Ruby understood the concept of death better than a two-year-old should.
1 and a half years later Ruby age 4 Yang age 6
Qrow followed a path through the forest he was able to track it rather easily, it looked like a wagon had been dragged through the forest. according to Tai his daughters had gone missing roughly an hour ago and he couldn't find them. That's why Qrow was tracking this trail not only was it fresh but he found some familiar strands of blonded hair on a tree branch on the path. "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" A high pitch shriek broke him out of thought. "Fuck. YANG, RUBY!" He shouted sprinting off in the direction of the far-off shriek.
Yang stared at the pack of beowolfs slowly approaching her and her sister their mouths foaming in hunger. All she wanted to do was find her mommy that picture she found said her mommy was in this forest but when she went to where the picture said all she found was an old run-down wooden shack full of monsters. The monsters were gonna eat her and Ruby if she didn't move but she couldn't their piercing red eyes starred directly into her's causing her to be frozen to her spot unable to even attempt to run.
The beowolfs didn't stop because the little girl was afraid no they even sped up attracted to her fear. Yang stood frozen even as the closest beowolf was only half a meter or so away from her. It happened so fast her eyes could barely keep track one second the beowolf was preparing to pounce on her the next a red blur slammed into said beowolf slamming it into the ground.
Ruby looked at her sister Yang was scared, Ruby wasn't, these wolves were being mean to her big sister she didn't want that, then they started getting close to her sister. Yang grew even more scared than began shaking uncontrollably. Ruby's entire body felt light like a feather she was full of energy that she had never felt before and most importantly she felt happy, pure joy spread across her entire body at the thought of beating up these monsters. Seeing one of the monsters ready to hurt her sister made her mad so she grabbed the knife off her sister's belt. Ruby vaguely remembered seeing her dad carve up meat with this knife so she could probably do the same to the monsters.
It was easy, all she did was run at the one attacking her sister poke the knife into its throat and weird black juice leaked out and the monster quit moving after a couple of seconds of struggling. Two more of the monsters ran at her trying to slash her with their claws, sadly they were slow it wasn't that hard for her short body to duck and roll out of the way of the wild slashes of the beowolfs. Her sister screamed, it was enough to make Ruby look in her direction, there was another beowolf attacking her sister. Ignoring the two behind her she ran throwing the knife as hard as she could. It flew surprisingly straight directly into the attacking beowolfs skull piercing into its brain, the beowolf dropped dead instantly.
Ruby ran up to the dead beowolf pulled the blade out of its skull turned around and glared at the final three beowolf approaching her. They seemed to hesitate for a second before lunging forward ready to shred the two little girls. Ruby was smiling, this was fun chopping up monsters that thought they stood a chance of hurting her or her sister. She ducked under the claws of one of the wolfs pulled her knife back and stabbed forwards she was met with the satisfying feeling of the knife piercing the beowolfs stomach. The beowolf howled in pain but didn't stop its attacks being so close to the wolf made it impossible to dodge the incoming attack. *BAM* The beowolf slashed at her sending her flying into Yang and knocking both of them into a tree even though the attack should have ripped her stomach open it barely hurt her shirt wasn't even ripped, of course, the four-year-old didn't realize what was going on or the significance of it.
Qrow entered a clearing and saw his nieces corned by two beowolf Ruby stood proud and Yang looked like she was a statue but Qrow didn't even pay attention to any of that the only thing he cared about was that his nieces were in danger and he needed to help them. Qrow charged forwards drawing his sword and transforming it into its scythe form for the extra reach. With one large slash Qrow relieved the three beowolfs shoulders of their head.
Black grimm blood sprayed everywhere Ruby was dyed black by the blood along with the already present blood from the beowolf's she killed. Qrow crouched down to his niece's level setting his scythe down to the side. "Are you two ok?" He asked, Yang fell to the ground tears falling from her eyes, Ruby on the other hand seemed happy she had a large grin plastered onto her face.
"Yeah where fine that was fun, we should do it again sometime."
well... that was a chapter. Just some stuff I wanna say, I know the pacing felt weird but I really didn't wanna write half of what I did but I ended up doing it anyways because I felt it would help show the minute changes I've already started. If you cant tell from this chapter which would make sense considering you have to look very hard to actually be able to even get a slight idea of what I'm doing I'm making the sliver eyed warriors different and putting my own spin on it. Ruby and RWBY will be a lot stronger than in canon especially early on butttttttttt they won't be OP. The silver-eyed warriors won't be the only things that I change but that is what the fic is based off. I'm also gonna take a bunch of creative liberties with aura and semblance to kinda do them my way. Also if you are very squeamish or just don't like gore then don't read, in later chapters, it'll probably get gory (Chopping off limb organs spilling out people covered in blood ECT ) Also since I have no clue what Summer's semblance is or what her weapon is I wrote it in a way where it didn't matter unfortunately because of this I could only make the scene with her about a 3rd as long as I wanted.
REVIEW PLS IF YOU WANT MORE CHAPTERS GOOD OR BAD FLAME OR NOT I ask for criticism what I do bad what can I do better that type of stuff. Ok bye. (PS I have slightly edited this chapter from the original, it was mainly only spacing and grammar changes that I fixed)
