AN: Well, I got an invisible review and a message from a friend so now I'm in the mood to write.

So Im dumb, I read threw the last two chapters and noticed how chunky my dialogue looked, after some quick google searches I realized what I did, there is a rule when your writing that whenever the person talking changes you're supposed to start a new paragraph, my dumb ass forgot one of the most basic parts of writing that they teach you in middle school, so that's my bad. I used that rule in this chapter, tell me if it's improved the chapter flow at all and if I should go and fix the previous chapters. Also, I indent all my chapters but when I upload them to ff the indents are deleted should I go back through and add em back in or is it fine how it is?

Tai chuckled at Ruby. She had to wear sunglasses to cover her eyes, silver eyes were a very rare trait and, they were widely known to belong to the silver-eyed warriors, It wouldn't be good for Ruby to be spotted in Vale with her silver eyes, depending on the person that saw her she could be treated as a normal little girl or as a monster, just because of her silver eyes. So she had to wear these sunglasses till they could get her some contact lenses that would mask her eye color. Ruby didn't like them she was pouting at him the entire bullhead ride to Vale.

The bullhead landed in Vale, Tai Ruby and Yang exited the flying vehicle. "Ok girls we have about..." Tai paused to check his scroll for the time (9:00AM) "11 hours to spend in Vale, where do you girls wanna go first?"

"BWEKFEST!" Ruby Yelled drooling at the thought of food.

Tai looked down at Yang who was oddly quiet, "What about you Yang, you wanna get some breakfast?" He got a half-hearted nod from Yang. Tai grabbed Yang and threw her onto his shoulders. "Don't be like that, Ruby might be leaving but we get to spend the whole day with her before she leaves, and she won't be gone forever, plus she'll be able to visit us every once and a while." Tai couldn't see Yang's face but he was sure that his little speech had managed to lift her spirits.

"Where are we going for food?" Tai asked the girls as they walked across the sidewalk not going anywhere in particular.

"Hmmmmmmm, bacon, I want some bacon," Yang declared.

"Well, im pretty sure most breakfast places will have bacon so that doesn't narrow down our options much." "What do you want Ruby?"

"A burger, wait no two burgers or maybe three," Ruby answered dreamily.

"Well finding a place that serves burgers this early would be difficult if your mother hadn't loved burgers, thanks to her I know all the best places that have burgers this early."

The family of three walked for about six minutes arriving at the restaurant Summer used to frequent when she was still alive. The sign above the entrance read "Apricot's 24-hour food stop." When they opened the door they were assaulted by a cacophony of smells. The walls of the food stop were bright orange, there was a bar in the back that was almost full and there were tables dotted around the room. The entire establishment had a joyful but rushed air to it.

Tai led the girls to a table in the corner of the room and sat down. "Ok Yang I know you want bacon but what else do you want, you can't just eat bacon," Tai asked resting his head on his hand.

"I want... uhhhhh I want... some... uhhhhhh."

"Do you want me to just get you bacon eggs and toast?" "Surrrrrrreeeee," Yang answered.

"I want four cheeseburbers and some fwise," Ruby cut in.

Tai sweatdropped, "Four cheeseburgers is a lot, how about we get one and we can get you something else like a salad."

"NO! I want four cheeseburbers," Ruby repeated holding up four fingers.

What the hell, I won't be able to see her for a few months I can indulge her this one time, me and Yang can finish her leftovers anyways. Tai thought to himself shaking his head. "Ok Ruby you can have four cheeseburgers," Tai relented.

"I see she has ya whipped, just like Summer," a new voice intruded into their conversation. They looked up and saw a tall woman with big breasts and shoulder-length orange hair, she was wearing a revealing outfit consisting of a tan sports bra that barely held in her G cup breasts and high rise jeans, to top it all off she had a dark orange cowgirl hat resting on her head.

"Hey Apricot long time no see." Tai greeted the owner of the restaurant.

Apricot sat on the extra chair not occupied at their table. "So how's life been treating ya Tai?"

"I don't think It's ever been worse." He answered frowning.

"That bad huh?" She asked, getting a nod of confirmation. Apricot completely switched gears and smiled brightly at the children, "So yer Yang an Ruby, Summer told me a lot about ya its good to see yer just as cute as she said." Apricot grabbed their cheeks squishing and squeezing them. Ruby and Yang tried to get away from the woman who was abusing their cheeks but it proved futile, even Ruby with her enhanced body from her aura couldn't break out of the women's hold.

After messing with the kids for a few more seconds Apricot left the kids alone and turned back to Tai. "Since you have the kids with you I'm assuming yer just ere for food, not on business."

"Yep, you gonna take are order?"

"Ya, what can I get chu guys?"

"Four burgers, a big fry, bacon, eggs, toast, and my usual."

Apricot raised an eyebrow at Tai "Four cheeseburgers?"

Tai chuckled "Rubys hungry."

"Eh whatever, if she's anything like Summer she'll be ordering ten by the time she's 15." Tai shivered at the thought of the lightness of his wallet after every time Summer ordered 10 burgers.

"Will have yer food out to ya in a jiff, just sit here and wait." "Oh, I almost forgot anything ta drink?" She turned back around looking sheepish

"I'll have a coffee, get these two some juice."

It didn't take long for the food to arrive. "As quick as ever Apricot," Tai complemented.

"Thanks It's made with extra love for an old friend, If that's all I sadly have other customers ta serve." She told them irritated that she couldn't sit and catch up with her friend.

"Yeah we're gonna eat and then leave we have other stuff to do, I'll come visit some other time."

"Ok well see ya round." She waved walking over to the other people waiting to be served.

They eat their food in mostly silence, Ruby surprisingly finished all her food. After finishing their food and paying with the money Ozpin gave them they left looking for another place to spend their time. They walked past a clothing store, Yang and Ruby wanted to go inside because of the "cool" looking poster that had a grimm being impaled by a sword on it. This store was called "Huntsmen's closet."

Entering the store Tai was greeted by a pale brown haired woman waiting next to the door. "Hello sir can I help you, is there anything specific you're looking for?" She asked in a professional tone.

"Nha where just gonna look around." He answered her walking further into the store.

"Ok if there's anything you can't find or need help with just find me and I'll be sure to help." She informed them from behind their backs.

The girls went into the left side of the store, the female side. There was practically any article of clothing you could think of undergarments, shirts, pants, socks, shoes, shorts, cloaks, hoodies, jackets, belts, etc. Ruby was interested in the cloaks looking between the different color ones. Yang was looking at scarves and coats even though it was mid-summer. Tai didn't want anything so he just watched his children explore the large store.

Tai was thrown four different coats and three scarfs by Yang, Ruby grabbed three cloaks, a pure black cloak, a second red one that was slightly lighter than the one she'd been gifted by her mom, the final cloak was black with a red rose emblem on the back. The third cloak surprised Tai, the rose on the back looked almost exactly like a red version of Summers emblem. Ruby and Yang told him to wait there while they grabbed something. They didn't want him to see what they were getting, Tai indulged them, he could hear them a couple of isles down if they needed help he could be there in seconds.

They returned with something in a bag, "Dad you can't open the bag until me and Ruby tell you, ok." Yang told him.

"Ok, this is the stuff you guys want?" He asked holding the cloaks and coats up. He got two rapid nods for a response to his question. They went to check out at the register. The brown-haired women from earlier stood at the cash register waiting for them. After scanning the items and not revealing what was in the bag at Tai's request she asked for payment. Tai paid with Ozpin's money and they left.

Tai brought them to a small park. The family of three played tag in the park for 30 minutes or so. Once they finished their game of tag they sat down on a bench. The girls told Tai to open the bag. Opening the bag Tai pulled out a black shirt that had BEST DAD EVER written on it in white ink. Looking back in the bag Tai saw a neckless and a bracelet at the bottom of the bag. The neckless was a small ruby that hung on a chain. The bracelet was gold with some type of purple gems imbedded into it. Both accessories fit him perfectly. "Do like them?" Yang asked.

"Yeah, do you?" Ruby followed after her sister.

Tai reached his hands out and placed them on their heads, "Like em, I LOVE EM," he laughed ruffling their hair.

Tai put on his gifts and they left the park looking for something else to do. They went and played in an arcade for about an hour after that they went to get lunch. After they had lunch they walked around Vale for a while. Tai brought the girls into a jewelry store and bought something. He didn't show them saying he would show them what he got later. After that, they went and did various things around Vale that you won't get to know because the author's lazy. They went and got dinner at six, at seven they were back at the park sitting on the bench.

Tai stood in front of Ruby and Yang who were sitting on a bench in the park. He pulled two boxes out of his pocket he handed one to Ruby and the other to Yang. The boxes were simple wooden boxes painted black.

"Open them." Tai urged, without even a second of hesitation they opened their boxes. In Ruby's box there was a red pendant, a rose made of ruby that matched the design of her new cloak. Yang's neckless was a gold butterfly with purple gems for the wings.

"Now we all have neckless's," Ruby commented.

Tai smiled "Yup, I want you girls to always be wearing these necklaces just like I'll always wear the gifts you gave me." They put the necklaces on and smiled at their dad.

"Okay I'll wear mine ALL the time," Ruby promised to him grinning.

"Me too im not taking it off ever," Yang declared getting in front of Ruby.

"Ok, you two, Qrows gonna be here to get Ruby in 40 minutes let's make the best of the time we have left." They bought ice cream from a shop that was just about to close and walked off to where Tai said Qrow would be.

Qrow stood next to a bullhead on the airstrip of Vale, Tai should be here any minute. He thought to himself. Sure enough in about five minutes, a head of blonde hair was visible.

Approaching Qrow Tai grabbed him by the shoulder turned him around and leaned Qrows head down whispering in his ear "If I find out that you've got my daughter hurt I'll show you why they call me the burning devil." Qrow chuckled at Tai's threat

"She training to be a huntress, she's gonna get hurt rather it be physical or emotionally."

Tai gripped Qrow's shoulder even tighter, "I. said. don't. let. my. daughter. get. hurt. if. she. is. you. will. pay."

"Yeah fine whatever," Qrow muttered in irritation.

"Dad, what are you doin to uncle Qrow?" Ruby asked from behind them. Tai turned around, letting go of Qrows shoulder in the prosses.

"Me and your uncle were just having a little chat, right Qrow" "..." "Right Qrow" Tai growled elbowing Qrow

"Yeah, we were having a... chat," Qrow answered irritated. Ruby gave them a weird look like she didn't believe them but after a few seconds the expression faded into a smile.

"This is it Ruby, the last time you'll see your family for a while, say your goodbyes, and then we're out of here." Qrow drawled.

"Ruby *sniff* I wish you didn't *sniff* have to leave," Yang embraced Ruby tightly barely holding back her waterfall of tears.

"I know, but both uncle Qrow and daddy say I have to." Ruby didn't really care about having to go with Qrow, she just didn't like that her sister was sad because of her leaving.

"Ruby listen to everything Qrow tells you, and if he does anything weird tell me and I'll make sure to... speak with him," Tai told Ruby.

"Yeah I'll listen, It's time for me to leave, ceya later dad, Yang," Ruby bid them farewell as she stepped further into the bullhead.

Tai and Yang watched the bullhead fly away. Yang burst into tears hugging her dad's legs "Dad *sniff* when will we *sniff* see R-Ruby again."

"I don't know Yang, I really don't know," Tai answered misty-eyed.

"Ruby come here," Qrow ordered. Ruby walked over to him, he was sitting on the floor legs crossed. "Sit down in front of me, cross your legs," Qrow directed. Ruby sat in front of Qrow crossing her legs like his. "This trip is gonna take hours so while we're waiting im gonna help you learn to control your aura, do you remember what your dad told you about aura yesterday?" Qrow asked.

"Ummmmmm, aura's an invisible shield that covers our bodies, It can also make us stronger, faster, and helps us heal," Ruby explained.

"Very good that's pretty much all Tai explained to you yesterday." Qrow complemented "Aura is the manifestation of the soul, a life force that runs through every living creature in this world, every creature but the grimm. With enough training we can utilize our aura, you are very lucky, due to your unique lineage and the fact that you were in a life or death situation you unlocked your aura without having to go through intense training." Ruby looked at him with her head tilted to the side. "You don't have to train to get your aura activated because of what happened yesterday," He simplified it down for her.

Ruby nodded understanding Qrow's simplified version much better than his long monologue. "What your dad didn't tell you is that aura is much more than just a protective shield, in the right hand's aura can be the most deadly weapon in the world, all the weapons that we huntsmen use are conduits for our aura, using our aura we can take something as flimsy as a tree branch and turn it into a spear capable of piercing the strongest of grimm hide."

"There's much more that can be done with proper training but right now we don't need to worry about that." Qrow pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket. "I want you to try and reinforce this paper with your aura so that I can't rip it, if you manage to do it before the end of this ride I'll give you your first weapon" Ruby's eye's lit up at the thought of having a weapon, she had always been amazed by her uncle's cool scythe and if she could get something like that just for making it so he couldn't rip some paper then she gladly would.

Ruby growled at the stupid piece of paper. It took her almost a half hour to even be able to imbue the paper with her aura, now she couldn't figure out the right amount of aura to use, she either used too much aura and burnt the paper or used too little and didn't even manage to strengthen it. She may or may not have ruined 40 or so scraps of paper at this point.

Ruby stood up and stomped over to her Qrow. "Why won't this stupid paper do what I want," she asked throwing the scrap of paper in Qrow's face.

"I don't know It's really easy," he muttered sleepily.

"If it's so easy why don't you do it," Ruby demanded.

Qrow picked the piece of paper up and pinched it between his fingers. "Try and rip it," he grunted.

Ruby put both her hands on the paper and tried to rip it in half. "What the heck?" She tried tearing the paper but it felt like she was trying to rip a rock, suffice to say she couldn't rip it.

"See I told you it's easy, you're just bad at it, now go sit down and keep trying," Qrow drawled.

"When I do it it burns up, how come when you do it it gets hard?" Ruby questioned.

"What are you doing to the paper?" Qrow inquired.

"I'm pushing my aura into it," Ruby answered.

"What do you think I did to the paper?"

"You pushed your aura into it to make it strong?" She fraised it like a statement but it sounded like a question.

"Nope, if I just forced a bunch of water into a balloon would the balloon get any stronger?" "No..." she answered his question. "Instead of forcing a bunch of water into the balloon you have to use the right amount and you have to tie the balloon right or it will leak out, the balloon is the paper and the water is your aura now go figure it out and don't bug me till you've finished," Qrow grumbled.

Ruby walked back over to the corner she had been huddled up in and began trying to do what she had been instructed to do. Instead of forcing a bunch of her aura into the paper at once, she tried slowly allowing it to "fill" the paper, it was easier said than done, the paper couldn't hold a lot of aura so she really had to go slow, the tiniest lapse in her concentration would result in the paper bursting into flames.

it took her 15 or so minute's to be able to not burn the paper, but now she was having problems keeping the aura in the paper, the paper would straighten for about 3 seconds and then go soft again. He said I need to tie the balloon, how do I do that? She pondered fiddling with the piece of paper.

Ruby continued to play with the paper, strengthening it with her aura over and over. One of such times she was strengthening it she let the paper slip from her hands, when the paper fell it left a large cut going from one side of her palm to the other. The cut bled profusely dripping onto the paper and the floor of the bullhead. Ruby hissed at the pain caused by the cut running across her hand.

The cut on her hand glowed red for a couple of seconds before the cut faded not even leaving a scar. Ruby grabbed her hand and inspected it "Cool, it's gone," she whispered in awe, when she poked the area that had been previously wounded there wasn't even a slight sting. Ruby's eye's widened as she came to a realization. "When the cut healed it didn't need a constant stream of aura, once there was enough to heal the cut it healed, the balloon was tied." "I just need to tie the balloon." With that epiphany Ruby got back to work trying to tie off the balloon.

Ruby soon mastered reinforcing the paper with her aura, to test its resistant's Ruby tried to rip it, just like Qrow's paper it felt like trying to rip a rock. The paper was also sharpened just like the one that cut her earlier, a small slash to her finger revealed that the reinforced paper could cut just as well as any knife.

Ruby bounced over to Qrow ready to show him her achievement. "Look uncle Qrow I can make the paper hard just like you."

"Oh that was quick, well then show me," Qrow grinned.

"Try and rip it," Ruby ordered holding the reinforced paper up in front of Qrow's face.

Qrow brought both of his hands up to the paper and pulled, "huh you actually did it, I can't rip it," Qrow mumbled. Ruby gave him the insane op puppy dog eyes. "I promise is a promise, here's your starter weapon," he chuckled and handed Ruby a dagger. "Now go and play I'll tell you when we get to where we're goin" Qrow dismissed slumping in his seat.

"Pretty," Ruby grinned at her new weapon. The dagger was in a black leather sheath, when she pulled it out of the sheath it revealed a deadly dark red blade, the blade was about 12 inches long and serrated. The guard was a simple red tsuba with the name "Ruby Rose" engraved into it.

Ruby held the blade in her hand feeling the balance, the only two weapons she'd wielded at this point, a kitchen knife and Qrow's pocket knife, weren't really weapons so having this well-balanced weapon in her hand felt amazing.

Ruby had just learned to use her aura to reinforce a piece of paper she didn't see why she couldn't do the same with her new weapon. So she tested her little theory out, the blade glowed red and seemed to be much better at conducting aura than that paper. Ruby glanced around the bullhead looking for something to test her knife on. There's not a lot in here to cut up, she grumbled in her thoughts. "Guess ill have to wait till we land to test it out," she moaned flopping onto her back hugging her dagger close to her chest. "I'll call you, thorny rose."

Qrow may have appeared to be sleeping but he was keeping a close eye on Ruby the entire time she was learning to reinforce the paper with her aura. It was very impressive to be able to learn aura reinforcement that fast, some people took months to be able to do what she was able to do in less than two hours. It was expected of course, she was the daughter of two of the strongest hunters to ever exist, her not being a prodigy would be weird.

Qrow was even more surprised when she reinforced the dagger he had gifted her. He didn't think she would realize that aura reinforcement could be used for more than paper that fast. It didn't escape his notice that she was easily grasping things that she shouldn't at her young age. Truly a prodigy, he smirked, she was definitely Summer's daughter.

"Ruby wake up," Ruby was awakened by Qrow.

Rubbing her eyes Ruby asked, "What's going on?"

"We're here, you fell asleep for most of the ride," Qrow responded, throwing Ruby a red backpack "That's your bag it has a couple of snacks in there along with tools necessary for your survival, don't lose it or it'll make your life much worse," Qrow explained.

"Ok, what are we gonna do now?" Ruby questioned, standing up slinging the heavy bag over her shoulder.

"We're staying in this city for tonight then we're leaving tomorrow, I'll give you more info tomorrow for now we just need to find an inn to stay at." Qrow walked into the cockpit of the bullhead and tossed the driver some lien "Thanks for the ride," he thanked their driver. "Let's go Ruby," he ordered gesturing for Ruby to follow him.

"Ok..." she responded sleepily, still not being fully awake. She made sure thorn rose was snug in one of the loops of her backpack and followed Qrow out of the bullhead.

It didn't take them long to find an inn that they could sleep in for the night. The inside was a little run-down but it was still a fine establishment. "I would enjoy tonight, it will be the last good night's rest you get for a long time, " Qrow advised. She didn't know what he meant by that but she didn't care anyway's, the bed was calling her name.

After a good night's rest Ruby was once again awoken by Qrow. They went down to the bottom floor of the inn and ordered some breakfast. While they were eating their food Qrow explained more of the situation to Ruby.

"Where in the continent of Estela, a wild continent full of monsters and retired and active duty huntsmen, this city, the city of Fresco is the only city on this entire continent that we have control over, any other city's villages or stronghold we have no authority over, where gonna spent most of our time camping in the grimm infested forest's, we have two goals, locating my target and training you, you only need to worry about the second one," Qrow gave Ruby a rundown of the time they would be spending in Estela.

"What are you going to teach me?" Ruby queried stuffing more oatmeal into her mouth.

"Everything, how to kill Grimm, aura techniques, fighting techniques, survival skills, tracking, assassination, everything you need to know to survive out there and how to be a huntress,"

Ruby's mouth was opened wide in an O shape. Qrow wanted to teach her a lot and most of it sounded fun so she didn't argue.

The grim file's

Threat levels: There are 7 threat levels, in order from least to greatest it goes Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Black, and Void.

A blue threat level is something that is the opposite of a threat and holds no potential to be a threat, an example of this threat level would be a dead grimm, since the grimm is no longer alive it poses no threat, a better example of would be a flower if the flower holds no potential to do harm then it is classified as blue.

The green threat level is something that does no harm but has the potential to do harm an example of this would be a huntsman, the huntsmen may never harm another human life but the huntsmen still has the ability to do harm if he so wishes, most civilians and hunters are in this threat level.

The yellow threat level is a classification saved for weak newborn grimm and humans that may be more dangerous but not by much i.e petty criminals, gangs, thieves, tax evaders etc.

Threat level orange is the classification most grimm are assigned. specific humans may be placed in this category as well i.e murderers, rapists, organized crime, terrorists, etc, examples of the grimm in this category are beowolf's, ursa's, nevermore, deathstalkers, etc.

Red threat level classifies humans and grimm that are a threat to a large group of people (Villages and small towns) The humans of this threat level are normally rogue huntsmen or very dangerous criminals (cereal killers, crime bosses, any human that would cause a large loss of life) The grimm of this threat level are the more rare dangerous grimm that could destroy entire villages on there own (The apathy, beringel's, geists, goliaths, etc)

The Black threat level is reserved for the most dangerous of humans and grimm. Very few grimm or humans are deemed this threatening, something of the Black threat level is capable of taking down one of the four main kingdoms. It should be noted that very few humans are placed at this threat level, at the current point in time there are less than twenty humans that are considered this threatening.

The Void threat level is reserved for beings capable of destroying the entire human race. There are fewer than ten humans in this classification.

Things to consider about the threat levels: Just because someone's threat level is black doesn't make them able to compete with others of their ranking, the rankings are based solely on the threat posed to the human race, so if someone has info deemed dangerous enough to wipe out the human race and they are untrustworthy then they may be considered Void threat level even if they only have the power to be of the yellow threat level.

AN: Well that was weird to write, writing this chapter I learned that I'm really bad at writing young characters and emotional Young characters, tell me how I did and what I can improve on.

I didn't really want to write the part in Vale but I did it anyways. Rember Apricot, she's not just some one-off character that's gonna disappear she'll be relevant in the future.

I would like to know anyone's thoughts on the new continent, the threat levels, and my interpretation of aura. Please leave a review, it helps me improve and gives me the drive to make new chapters faster, plus I respond to all reviews personally. =)
