I forgot to say it in the last 3 chapters but words in italics means their thoughts.
Ruby stared at a small red crystal in her hand, her uncle Qrow said it was a dust shard, Ruby knew what dust was, she'd even seen her dad use it before, but she'd never held the illustrious power source. The shard felt warm, Ruby had considered trying to reinforce it with her aura but decided that wasn't the best idea, Qrow had told her to carry it and inspect it while they walked through the forest.
Yeah there in a forest, the forest of Ehu Qrow called it. There was only one road through the forest and apparently, the road had been terrorized by bandits for months but due to the lawless nature of Estela only those passing through cared about the bandits. Qrow shrugged the threat of the bandits off not being scared of a rag-tag group of bandits.
Ruby ran her finger down the dust shard, it was hard to explain but she felt a connection with the small crystal, it felt like she was seeing someone who she hadn't seen in a long time. The crystal kind of reminded Ruby of her mom. Now I can fight monsters just like you mommy.
*Awwwwwwwwwooooooooo* Ruby snapped her head in the direction the howl had come from. "Wolfy's?" She wondered.
"Does that sound like one of your wolfy's?" Qrow asked from behind her.
"No... that sounded kind of..."
"Human?" Qrow asked stepping in front of Ruby.
"Yeah, it sounded like the noises me and Yang make when we play wolfy," Ruby looked around, the howl sounded close, all she saw was the little bit of light that fell through the thick leaves and the thick trees surrounding them, there were no people.
"Well as long as they leave us alone we have no reason to mess with them," Qrow mumbled, "let's go we don't have all day, I want to find a nice place to set up camp before dusk," Qrow urged motioning Ruby to walk in front of him.
Ruby felt weird, it felt like someone was breathing down her neck, Qrow had remained a full meter away from her almost the entire walk so she didn't think it was him. She looked back at her uncle and then looked around, the path was the same, tightly enclosed by trees and muddy. There wasn't any difference but she felt different like there was something that needed to be released but was unable to be released, no she doesn't have to pee.
A shiver ran down Ruby's spine, the feeling of someone breathing down her neck grew more prominent, her heart began to race, her hand reached up to Thorny Rose, her eyes grew wide, to top it all off she grinned psychotically. Her heart rate grew even faster, her grip on Thorny Rose tightened, and her smile stretched even more.
*AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!* About 20 armed men fell from the trees above. Most of the men wielded rusty swords, only two of the men had nice looking weapons, one of them was a bald man with a large battle-ax, the other was a skinny black haired man dressed in a fancy suit, he wilded a black halberd.
Most of the men surrounded Qrow thinking he was some dumb traveler that would fork up his cash easily. Qrow chuckled at the ignorant bandits. "Listen guys we don't have to do this, you guys can walk away and reconsider your life choices, OR you can attack me and my niece and deal with the consequences."
"Hahahahahahaha, the bandits laughed hysterically at the lone man that thought he stood a chance against 18 bandits." "So you think you're a tuff guy huh?" The bald man asked stepping forwards "don't be so arrogant!" The bald man roared swinging his battle-ax at Qrow's head.
It was supposed to be simple, attack the little girl and her dad, take their money, kill them and leave, simple as that. The people they were attacking were anything but simple. For one the little girl seemed to notice when they started following them, secondly, the man didn't even blink at the weapons pointed at his face, he even threatened them, them the ones ready to kill him on a whim. Their leader, Chidi attacked the arrogant man, instead of the man's head laying on the ground their leader was now laying on the ground, out cold from a fist to the face.
Two of the bandit's stood in front of the little girl, a grunt with a rusty sword and their second in command Yashin. Yashin eyed the little girl who was grinning at them like a psychopath, she had a small dagger but judging by the way she was holding it she had no training in the art of combat.
Yashin swung his halberd at the little girl aiming at her neck, just because he was a murderer didn't mean he had no compassion, he would make the girl's death as quick and painless as possible. The girl ducked under his halberd and lunged at him. She tried digging the dagger into his stomach but with one flick of his halberd he blocked the strike and knocked her off balance. Yashin stabbed his halberd into the girl's stomach and launched her into a tree.
The grunt approached the girl sword raised high to deliver the killing blow. In a blur of movement the cloaked girl launched herself at the grunt's throat, luckily for the grunt Yashin managed to block the dagger aimed for his throat.
"Little girl... you have aura, at such a young age," Yashin rumbled before turning his head sharply at the grunt, "go help the others, you just almost died to a little girl, if it wasn't for me you would be dead," the grunt nodded and ran off to join his comrades that were attacking the black haired man.
The sick little girl grinned at him "Why'd you send your friend away? He could've played too," Ruby questioned charging at Yashin. He sidestepped her strike and planted his foot into her side sending her skidding across the ground.
"Because you would've killed him just as you intend to do to me, but unlike him, I can stand up to you," Yashin growled swinging his halberd at the little girl. His weapon split the girl in half, her small body put up little resistance. "Strange I don't remember breaking her aura," He mumbled to himself.
Ruby was annoyed, this spiky black haired dude dressed in a suit was treating her like a bug, every one of her attacks was blocked or dodged by the strange man. He dodged her last attack and then he kicked her. When she asked why he got rid of his friend he got mad and attacked her.
The weird ax spear thing attacking her moved slowly along with everything around her, she knew what this was, this was her semblance a unique power only she could use.
Ruby jumped over the man and his weird weapon, seeing his neck exposed she raised her dagger reinforced it with her aura, and slashed, the attack sent the man flying at her uncle who was standing in the center of the 19 unconscious bandits that attacked him.
Qrow caught the man with his right hand and threw him down to the ground. The man's aura was not broken by her attack but the attack had enough force to render the man unconscious. Ruby ran at the man dagger raised in a reverse grip. "Ruby NO, just because he attacked you doesn't mean you have to kill him," Qrow barked grabbing Ruby's wrist, her blade cut a long line from the top of the bandit's forehead down to his cheek, not deep enough to kill but it would definitely scar.
"LET ME GO!" Ruby screeched pulling her arm away from Qrow. She glared at Qrow, she wanted to kill the black-haired guy but Qrow wouldn't let her.
Qrow sighed "Ruby there's a time and place for killing, this is a good time and place but I will not have you killing another person at 4 years old," her anger faded into confusion, what did it have to do with age? Seeing the confused look on her face, Qrow decided to save himself from a long explanation that she wouldn't understand "I'll tell you when you're older."
After more pouting and Qrow promising Ruby that he'd teach her how to use Thorny Rose, they were back on the road. They walked for another four or so hours before stopping and setting up camp in a small clearing, the trees parted perfectly to allow plenty of moonlight into their camp. Qrow built a campfire in the center of the clearing and showed Ruby how to set up her sleeping bag.
"Ruby grab your dagger and take your cloak off," Qrow ordered sitting on an old tree stump in the clearing.
"Her name's Thorny Rose, it's rude to call her dagger," Ruby corrected while she grabbed Thorny Rose and hung her cloak carefully on a tree branch.
"Ok bring "Thorny Rose" over here," Qrow smirked taking a swig from his flask, water of course, Qrow shivered at the thought of Tai finding out he drank near his daughter while he was supposed to be protecting her. I wonder how long it'll be before I'll to get drink again.
Ruby stood in front of Qrow, now that she had shed her cloak Qrow could see her outfit much better. "Seriously Tai..." he sweatdropped, under Rubys cloak she was wearing white polka-dotted pajamas, not a good outfit for surviving in the wild, luckily he had expected something like this and bought an outfit that fits their situation much better. "*Sigh* here, go behind those trees and put these on," Qrow requested pointing at a patch of trees that would block her from view while she changed.
Ruby looked down at the neatly folded outfit in Qrow's hand and asked "What's this for?"
"Those clothes won't work for you out here, look they already have some rips in them," Qrow pointed out the rips in the stomach area of Ruby's pajamas, "If you want to wear them when you go to sleep you can but this outfit will work much better for training and fighting, so go put these on, I won't train you to use Thorny Rose until you put these on."
Ruby snatched the outfit from Qrow and ran behind the trees yelling "Ok!"
When she emerged from the trees she looked completely different. Instead of the thin pajamas she had been wearing before Ruby now wore a plain black hoodless Anorak jacket, for pants she wore plain black cargo pants, even her shoes were replaced, her worn tennis shoes were replaced with black combat boots with red laces, all of these were adapted for someone of Rubys small stature of course.
Ruby looked at herself in disgust, she felt oddly comfortable in her new clothes but the plain look made her feel bland. Qrow smiled at his niece "looks like they fit good, they may not look the best but they serve their purpose."
"Do I have to wear these, they're ugly," She complained.
Qrow sweatdropped, she complains a lot for a four year old. "Yup you have to wear those, if your good I might buy you some better looking ones next time we're in a big city," Qrow told her not mentioning they wouldn't be in a city for a least a month.
"Fine," Ruby relented.
"Alright time to start your training, first things first you need to learn how to draw your weapon in less than a second, in any situation, show me how you draw your blade," Qrow instructed.
Ruby nodded, Ruby reached her hand to Thorny Rose, who was placed in one of the loops of her cargo pants, Ruby reached her hand past the guard and pulled, once the weapon was out of the sheath she spun it in her hand holding it in a better grip.
"It took you about four seconds to have Thorny Rose ready for battle, that's far too slow, here let me show you the correct way..."
On they went training into the night, by the time Qrow called it quits
Ruby was able to draw Thorny Rose in about a second and was able to swing the dagger in some pretty basic ways, pretty good progress for her first night training.
They went to sleep after the training and eating some rehydrated MREs. Ruby changed back into her PJs and went to bed feeling tired from Qrow's strict training. Qrow went to bed happy with the progress Ruby had made on the first day of training.
Ruby awoke the next morning to the sound of birds chirping and the smell of a campfire. Ruby exited the clutches of her sleeping bag and walked over to her uncle and the fire he'd started "good mornin uncle Qrow,"
"Morning Ruby, you want some food," he greeted back holding an MRE up to Ruby. Ruby grabbed the MRE sat down and began devouring her food. The food was gone quickly.
"You got anymore im starving," Ruby asked scooting next to her uncle giving him the dreaded puppy dog eyes.
"I have more but we need to save them, I'll teach you how to hunt once you've gotten used to the wild and are half-decent at fighting," The puppy dog eye's had no effect.
"Pack your sleeping bag up just like I showed you last night, where leaving, also put your new clothes back on."
Ruby sighed irritatedly and went to pack up her sleeping bag. It didn't take her long to have her sleeping bag packed and her new outfit thrown on. "Alright, we're out of here," Qrow led the way down the path.
Instead of walking for hours like the previous day they stopped two hours in and made camp in the woods, camp may not have been the best word, they didn't lay out their sleeping bags or start a fire but Qrow called it a camp so it was a camp.
Soon the reason why they had stopped became clear, it was time for Qrow to teach her. Instead of the hands-on style of his previous lessons, this one was more conventional. Qrow gave her a simple rundown of the history of remnant, easy even for a four year old to understand. He didn't only teach her about history he also taught her about spelling, basic math, the bare basics of dust, science, and a small review on what they learned about fighting yesterday. It was easy for Qrow to teach Ruby these things because she seemed to enjoy all of them save for math.
After Ruby's makeshift schooling they set off into the woods instead of on the path. This turned out to be a part of her training, Qrow taught her about a number of plants that would be beneficial, everything from a leaf that could be ground into a pain killer to a flower with deadly pollen. The information sponge known as Ruby absorbed all of the information greedily.
The cycle repeated for a month, waking up early, eating, walking for an hour or two, Qrow teaching Ruby basic things like math, science, spelling, reading, history, knowledge of survival in the wilderness, combat, and a couple of aura techniques. Today the cycle would be broken, today will be Ruby's first hunting trip.
Ruby stalked her prey, a buck that looked to be about 100 pounds. She stood high in a tree gripping Thorny Rose tightly. Come on just a little closer and you'll be my dinner. She salivated at the thought of eating fresh meat after a month of MREs.
According to Qrow it was better to aim for the neck with her blade because it would be easier to slit the buck's throat than trying to pierce the buck's tiny brain, so that's what she did, once the buck was close enough Ruby rushed towards it using her semblance. *Slash* *Splat* The buck fell to the ground choking on its own blood, Ruby cut deep into its throat severing its carotid artery and spine.
"YES! Fresh meattttttttttttt," Ruby cheered jumping up and down. Ruby poked at the buck's head making sure it was dead. Judging by the lifeless eyes it was.
"Well, time for the hard part keeping the grimm away and cutting him up," Ruby sighed any nearby grimm would be attracted by the smell of blood and she had to gut the buck while keeping them away.
"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr," right on queue a pack of beowolfs emerged from the forest growling in hunger and rage.
"Was this guy your prey?" Ruby asked strolling over to the beowolfs casually, she may have looked calm and her face had a small innocent smile on it but her eyes, her eyes seemed to burn into the beowolfs freezing them in place, a silver eyed demon had set their sights on them.
"What's the matter why are you trying to run away," Ruby cooed to the now fleeing beowolfs. *Splat* *slash* *crunch* *splat* the sounds of Ruby tearing apart the small pack of grimm rang out through the forest.
After Ruby *cough* slaughtered *cough* the grimm she returned to her buck. "Now that that's dealt with let's get to guttin," Ruby grinned, she had never done this before but the process had been explained to her in-depth multiple times by Qrow, it seemed fun.
Ruby stared at Thorny Rose "Should I wash the grimm blood off first?" "Nah it'll be fine," she dismissed.
Ruby spread the legs of the buck, using her aura enhanced dagger she cut from the sternum to the crotch, she grabbed the buck by the testicles and cut out the testicles and urethra, then she cut around the anus loosening it, next she reached into the carcass and carefully cut the diaphragm loose, after that she carefully reached her hand in further and found the deep cut in the windpipe she made when originally killing the buck, once she found it she pulled it lose disconnecting the windpipe, she then pulled the organs out of the buck by the windpipe cutting any tissue that tried to stop their exit, to finish it off she propped the buck open with a stick to allow the meat to cool in the late afternoon air. She made sure to grab the heart and liver.
After letting the buck cool for a little while Ruby hoisted it onto her back not caring about the blood staining her clothes and began the trek back to Her and Qrow's current camp. It only took about 30 minutes to make it back, when she arrived she was greeted by her uncle.
"Welcome back looks like the hunt was successful," Qrow greeted.
"Yeah I gutted him now we need to skin him and get the meat so I can eat," Ruby declared
"Alright, you know what to do, go get the rope," Qrow sighed.
"Alright hold this," Ruby threw the buck into Qrows arms.
"Wait Ruby I don't wa...," She ignored him walking over to her backpack and pulling out a coil of rope.
"Where are we hanging him?"
"Over on that tree," Qrow grumbled.
"Ok let's do this I'm hungry," Ruby walked over to the tree, Qrow soon joined her at the tree.
"Cut wholes in the back legs we need to hang him."
Ruby nodded cutting hole's in between the bucks joints, without being told she slipped the rope in the holes and jumped into the tree tying the rope and buck to a large branch.
"Good job now ski-"
"Yeah we need to skin him, I'll start on the hind legs now," Ruby interrupted.
"I see im not even needed here," Qrow mumbled with a purple cloud of depression over his head.
Ruby got to work on the buck, she cut the hide on the legs just below the thighs in a circle, she pulled and cut the hide down the leg, she dragged the hide down to the abdomen before going down and cutting the hide on the lower legs, after that she pulled the hide all the way down to the neck and cut it off. Ruby handed the hide to Qrow "I did it perfectly my first time,"
Qrow grabbed the hide from Ruby "I'll show you how to tan this after we're done getting all the meat,"
"Alright, do you have something to put the meat in?"
"Yup I have a special bag that uses tiny amounts of ice dust to stay cold, just hand me the meat and I'll put it in there."
"OK," Ruby began cutting the meat out of the deer, she cut out the backstraps, the loins, the ribs, the neck meat, the shoulder, the brisket, and the ribs. All of the meat was put in Qrows bag.
After burying the remains of the deer out of respect they sat around a campfire. "Well your first hunt went great we got food for us and some extra to sell when we go into town tomorrow."
"We're going into town?" Ruby asked munching on some ribs.
"Yep I need to buy supplies and you need better fitting clothes that aren't about to fall apart."
"*munch* can *munch* I *munch get *munch* a *munch* hair cut," Ruby asked devouring her ribs.
"Sure, I don't think Tai would like the idea but he's not here to stop you."
"Good my hair keeps getting in my face, it's annoying."
"Oh yeah, you wanna eat the heart it's tradition for a hunter to take a bite out of their first kills heart."
"Raw?" Ruby raised her eyebrow.
"Yup we can cook the rest but it's tradition to take the first bite of your heart raw."
"Sounds fun, did you do it to your first kill?"
"Yep, and every kill since."
"Wow cool, I wanna do it."
Ruby jumped up running to the ice dust bag, "Im gonna grab the heart."
Qrow chuckled "It tastes disgusting."
"Then why do you do it?"
"It was how I was taught, plus cooked heart is really good."
Ruby ran over to Qrow the heart in her hand, "It kinda looks tasty," Ruby bit into the heart like an apple.
"It doesn't taste good does it?" Qrow looked amused.
"O MY DUST IT'S DELICIOUS!" Ruby shouted at the top of her lungs viciously biting into the heart.
Qrow's amused look faded as he looked at his niece in concern, "you're not supposed to like it."
"Well, it *chomp* tastes amazing."
Qrow shook his head She's so Summers kid.
"Finish up your food and then go to bed Im getting you up extra early tomorrow so we can go to town, your getting a day off from lessons too."
Ruby nodded silently, devouring the raw heart.
"Rise and shine, or you're gonna miss breakfast," Ruby shot up from her sleeping bag prepared to kill whoever suggested she would miss breakfast.
"Uncle Qrowwwwwwwwww," she wined flopping back down onto her sleeping bag.
"I wasn't joking I cooked food and if you don't get up and eat it I will."
"Yeah, I will," she grumbled.
Ruby laid down for a minute or two before she got up to devour her food. After eating her food Ruby changed into her combat outfit and put her black cloak with the rose design on. Qrow picked his respective things up and then they were off down the road, according to Qrow they were an hour of brisk walking away from the town.
"Welcome to the town of Brizio the best craftsmen town on this continent," Qrow introduced the town to Ruby and welcomed her at the same time.
The duo stood before a large metal wall that surrounded the whole town, Ruby could see very little over the wall but what she did see was beat up looking metal roofs.
"I just need to talk to the guard and I should be able to get us in, I did a favor for the mayor so im considered an honored guest," Qrow informed the spaced-out 4 year old.
Ruby deafly nodded not paying much attention. She was staring at the large thick metal wall wondering how long it took to build such a massive wall.
Qrow ignored his distracted niece and walked up to the gateway, once he got to the gateway he shouted "Hey it's me Qrow I need to get in mind opening the gates?"
"Qrow?" A deep voice asked from atop the wall. "If your Qrow prove it," the deep voice demanded from atop the wall.
"Last time I was here you, me, and Hunter got so wasted we tried flirting with Azure and ended up waking up naked in a nevermore nest," Qrow shouted to the man on the wall.
"Well I'll be it is you, OPEN THE GATE QROW'S HERE!" The man shouted.
*CREEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK* The heavy metale gate's opened with a loud creeking noise. Standing in front of the now open gates was a man wearing heavy-looking grey plate armor. "It's been far too long Qrow how have you been?" The man asked.
"Eh I've been better, how have you guys been?"
"Hunter still can't get a girl to save his life, I finally got that pay raise and Azure is the same as always."
"Well can we come in?"
"We?"
"Yeah, this pipsqueak over here is my niece Ruby she's my apprentice, we want to come into town we need to do some shopping and I want to introduce Ruby to Azure I think they'll get along pretty well."
"You know you're always welcome here come on in," the man in armor invited them in as he pulled off his helmet revealing his pale white skin scruffy grey beard, sharp cheekbones, and pale grey eyes.
"Ruby this is Lloyd an old friend of mine," Qrow introduced the armored man.
"Yo," Lloyd greeted giving Ruby a two-fingered salute.
"Hi I'm Ruby nice to meet you," Ruby greeted holding her hand out to Lloyd. Lloyd was about to shake Ruby's hand when he notice the dried layer of blood covering her hand.
"We can shake hands... some other time," he didn't want to get a bunch of blood that came from god knows where on him.
"Ok...?" Ruby looked confused.
"Come on Ruby they need to close the gates," Qrow urged Ruby into the confines of the town.
"When are we seeing this Azure person she sounds fun?" Ruby asked following Qrow into the town city fortress thing.
"We'll see her soon but first we need to find somewhere to sell the meat we don't want and I need to buy some supplies."
The town of Brizio is large, most of the houses are made of metal or brick, in the center of the town there is a large tower that is almost double the height of the surrounding wall. The road leading from the gate leads directly to the tower in the center of town, the roads are made out of brick, most of the buildings have some sort of sign on them indicating that they're some sort of shop.
Qrow dragged Ruby threw the town first he bought more dreaded MREs next he sold the cuts of meat that they didn't want to eat (Ruby wanted all of the meat but Qrow said they didn't have the room to carry all the meat) After selling the cuts of meat Qrow bought more basic survival items wich the author won't tell you because he's lazy, but you can use your imagination.
Qrow and Ruby stand in front of a large building made out of brick, a wood sign above the dark oak door reads in blue paint "Azures Forge." "This place belongs to my friends Azure, she's a smith, we can see if she'll teach you weapon forging that's one thing I cant teach you," Qrow informed Ruby as he opened the door to the forge.
They stepped into the building revealing the warm inside, the walls are simple white drywall, the floor is simple stone covered with a couple of rugs, the entire room is bare except for some chairs lined against the wall and a front desk that is bare except for one blue bell, the room is a waiting room.
Qrow walked over to the front desk and rang the bell a couple of times. "I'll be there in a few minutes!" A feminine voice shouted from further into the building.
Qrow stood at the desk waiting for his friend. Ruby sat in one of the chairs and played with her necklace, a habit she'd developed in the month she'd spent with Qrow. She missed her sister and dad, while she loved the wilderness and the cool things Qrow was teaching her being away from her family for so long was... sickening. Ruby felt homesick.
Oh, I forgot to clean Thorny Rose after yesterday's hunt, Ruby remembered her weapons state of dirtiness, guess I'll clean her while I wait, she thought grabbing her cleaning supplies.
Ruby pulled a small red wooden box out of her backpack. Inside the box
were various types of cloths, a toothbrush used for cleaning, and a bottle of clear liquid. Ruby grabbed the bottle and dropped a couple of drops of the clear liquid onto her blade. Next, she grabbed a black stained cloth and began wiping the blade clean of grime. After making sure every bit of blood guts and dirt was off her blade she began cleaning the sheath which had accumulated a good amount of grime from her hunt.
Qrow looked up at the sound of a door opening. Standing in front of him was a sweaty Azure haired woman, the women's dark green eye's closed as she let out a long sigh. She walked closer revealing her choice of clothing, she wore her long tailbone length hair in a tight bun, her hands were covered by orange clawed gauntlets, for a shirt she wore a tight-fitting orange T-shirt that revealed her tiny a-cup breasts, skinny blue jeans revealed her long slender legs, she was barefoot.
"Hey, Azure long time no see, how've you been?" Qrow started off the conversation with a question.
"Qrow! What the hell are you doing here?" The now-named Azure asked.
"Im here to get that upgrade to Harbinger we talked about and to help this one with her weapon," he answered pointing at Ruby.
"Who's the kid?"
"My niece and your future apprentice."
"My future apprentice huh, well she seems to be taking good care of that weapon of her's so I guess she has a shot." Azure looked at the little girl, it was rare to find someone that treats weapons with the kind of care.
"See you're already taking a liking to her."
"She... looks at that blade the same way I look at weapons," Azure muttered staring at the girl in thought.
As if sensing the stare Ruby looked up from her weapon to the two adults. Seeing the beautiful blue-haired woman Ruby assumed this was Azure and hurriedly put her cleaning utensils away and walked over to the two adults idly conversing.
"Use's a dagger right now I plan to start her on early scythe training soon," Ruby heard part of the conversation as she approached the two adults.
"So your Ruby Rose?"
"Yes mam" Ruby nodded feeling a strange respect for the older women.
"polite, I like it," Azure muttered under her breath. "So kid what do you think about weapons?"
"What do I think about weapons?" Ruby repeated.
"Yeah what do you like about weapons, what is good about them, what is bad about them, what's the best kind of weapon, what's the worst kind of weapon, things like that."
"Weaponsareamazing thereanextensionof ourbody's,weaponsareprettyand deadlycoolandfunandIdon'tthinkthere's suchthing asthebestweapon becausethe weaponsworth depends onitsuser theworst typeofweapon is a weapon thatisnotused andIreallyreallylikethem andthey'rejustamazing," Ruby word vomited.
"Huh?" Qrow looked lost.
"Qrow..." Azure muttered in an ominous voice.
"Huh?" Qrow looked even more lost.
"I'LL MAKE HER MY APPRENTICE SHE'S THE CUTEST THING EVER AND SHE LOVES WEAPONS JUST AS MUCH AS MEEEEEE!" Azure screeched hugging Ruby tightly to her nonexistent chest.
Qrow blincked "Um sure." That was easy.
"MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA YOU AND ME WILL CONQUER THE WORLD OF FORGING TOGETHER," Azure screeched even louder swinging Ruby around the room in circles.
I never knew she had a soft spot for kids, Qrow sweatdropped.
After a few more minutes of spinning Ruby around in circles she set Ruby down. "Well because you brought me the cutest apprentice ever I'll give you your upgrade for free, after my first couple of lessons with Ruby of course."
Grimm files
Name: Redacted
Threat Level: Redacted
Abilities/Traits: Redacted
Description: Redacted
AN: No I wasn't too lazy to put the grimm files, there is a real reason for the Redacted.
I've gone hunting in real life and gutted a deer multiple times but the way I described it wasn't the best so that's my fault, but if I were to guess no one cares. And that thing with the heart yeah I did it my dad did it my brother did it even one of my sisters did it so it is latterly a tradition at this point, I had Ruby do it in the fic just cause, and yes I know it's not exactly good to eat raw meat.
The weapon cleaning, I have knives in real life but I normally don't clean them unless there really dirty so that was kinda improvised.
OC's, well I like OC's and the entire continent is of my own making so there's gonna be a lot of OC's. If you don't like OC's I would just quit reading now there's gonna be a lot for at least the next 10 plus chapters.
I realize Ruby is more mature than she should be but im just gonna use the fact that her mother died when she was 2 and her high IQ as an excuse.
This chapter feels bland in some places, when I go back through to edit sometime in the future I'll try and fix that.
I've been having problems describing things like people and places anyone got any pointers?
I tried to make this chapter less wordy, I failed T-T.
Please review, give me your input and help me improve my writing so I can improve your reading. I respond to all reviews personally =)
