Cocoon

Author's Note: Inspired by the 1985 film, Cocoon. Enjoy the story and R&R.

Disclaimer: I do not own anything related to or of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX series.

Pairing: Established Judai x Sho.

Summary:

Yuki Judai illustrates to Marufuji Sho he doesn't need cocoons.

"Aniki, easy, easy! You might scrub my skin off!"

"Oh. Sorry, Sho," Judai apologized and pulled back the towel, though his eyes were everywhere except on Sho.

Sho didn't know Judai to be a prude. This was the same Judai who announced "Washing each other's backs naked brings us guys closer!" with a straight face.

If Judai was only acting this way, avoiding looking at him because the landscape of their friendship had shifted slightly…

Okay, "slightly" didn't do their relationship justice. And with a line like that, Judai was certainly not straight!

Don't be stupid, Aniki.

"They're not here, I suppose."

"Who?" Sho knew jack.

"That bear and seal!"

"The bear who washed you back, and whose back you washed back?"

"Yeah! And the seal who washed the bear's back and had its back washed by the bear!"

Could you sprain your tongue from using such words together which usually shouldn't go together?

"Why them all of a sudden, Aniki?"

"No reason, Sho! I just remembered how weird that was!"

"Hehe, yeah. Weird."

Weirder than getting a new Deck from space to help you fight a light in the sky?

Judai restarted scrubbing, not as hard. Now, Sho could feel Judai's undivided attention solely on his naked back; drilling, like Grand Mole's Drill Mole.

His eyes.

Maybe Judai wasn't acting differently.

Maybe it was Sho perceiving Judai acting differently.

"Hey, Sho?"

"Geh!" Sho jerked. "What is it, Aniki?"

Their physical nakedness was not bothering Sho. Like Judai, it never bothered Sho unless Judai was making a prank of it.

But the two of them alone like this, by the hot water in the cold night, surrounded by nature's silence?

Sho was bothered Judai might see into him. Past the towel and past his skin. Past the insecurities Judai already accepted, to the Sho who doubted he was a speck in Judai's ocean.

The truly naked Sho, without cocoons to hide him.

Judai was trespassing in the inner pool of Sho's thoughts without intending harm.

But this was Judai, ready to make contact. His heart in his hands, doing the work. Making Sho feel he didn't need the cocoons. Illustrating, as the child who illustrated Dolphina and Dandylion.

Could they remain here?

Young.

Alive.

In love?
