Bringing the gang back for part 3! This one follows on from Deliverance!
Yelena had been out with Natasha and their mother, they'd been dress shopping of all things. It had driven Nat a little mad honestly but the thing that prevented her from completely losing her mind was the fact that it was Yelena and she always got so excited with clothes shopping. It had taken most of the day but Yelena had finally decided on one she liked, tried it on and had it pinned and now just had to wait to hear back to be able to go and get it.
Wanda, Kate and Cassie how ever had not gone shopping today. They were going tomorrow and in the mean time had been out in the yard so that they didn't have to listen to Alexei snoring. The former red guardian and now lazy dad type had had lunch with them, laid out on the couch and promptly fell asleep. It was in the yard that the sisters found their partners and youngest new addition.
"My little spider! You're back." Kate cooed as she always did when Yelena went anywhere with out her and returned.
The first few times Natasha had really teased Kate about how excited she ever got to see Yelena but it became clear that Kate's excitement was as much genuinely for herself as it was for Yelena. Nothing made the younger Widow smile so brightly like being greeted by her fiancé did. Like they both genuinely could not live without each other and Natasha loved the love they had.
"Hey you." Wanda cooed as well, she always cooed.
Wanda was still so quiet and calm these days, very little changed that but while she was never as intensely excited as Kate got, the love she had for Nat was shown in different ways. Like the little smile she always reserved for Natasha, even when they were fighting Wanda could never really seem to help herself but smile at the redheaded widow. It never failed to make Natasha's stomach twist and her heart do things hearts shouldn't be able to.
"My love." Natasha smiled walking over and pulling Wanda into a fond embrace much the same way Yelena just had with Kate.
Because that was their thing. Natasha and Yelena had spent a lot of years where the only contact they really got was forced or forceful. While Natasha had had more liberties than Yelena, had been able to make more choices for longer, she didn't trust easily and certainly not with her body. Wanda however she trusted implicitly. So much so that Natasha was almost constantly initiating some kind of touch with the slightly younger woman just because she could and it felt so good to simply hold her hand much less anything else touch might imply with Wanda.
Yelena was different again, yet the same as well. She had her trust issues, she hadn't ever really had to bed anyone for her job, not after the subjugation. But she had only really dealt in punches and kicks and being thrown against walls or having Bolas pelted at her. The gentle touches Kate offered were like crack and Yelena was definitely addicted and Kate was all to happy to make sure Yelena got all she wanted.
While it wasn't a secret the pair of younger women were sexually active neither of them really prioritised it. Not because they didn't enjoy it, they definitely did and they were adventurous with it as well. But they were also just more than happy to lay down and cuddle and touch without the heat or pressure for more. They worked really well that way.
Wanda and Natasha weren't entirely different except Wanda had lived a mostly sexless relationship with Vision that had involved more touch and less sex and Natasha just needed affection of any kind and had a libido to match. There for 9 times out of 10 their petting tended to end up with them having sex, or mores to the point, making love. The two couples were decidedly well matched.
"Privet, kotenok." Natasha smiled happily leaning up and pressing a light kiss to Wanda's lips in greeting. Yelena offered much the same greeting to her own love.
"So did you finally get a dress, Lenny?" Cassie bounced over and leaned into Yelena and Kate as Kate had wrapped the smaller assassin in a hug.
It had been several months since the fall of the badly named 'blue room' or rooms as it were. Cassie and her remaining group of peers had been rescued by the abducted Kate and Natasha. They'd been freed the same day Kate had been shot and almost died. Pepper Potts had taken it upon herself to make sure the girls all went to healthy homes where they would be allowed to live and grow and be loved.
Kate and Natasha both had taken quite a shine to Cassie though and she had been taken in by Melina and Alexei at the girls' request. In fact the couple had been more than happy to take her on as their own and Cassie had fit in well. She started going to school and was in 9th grade and was smart. Smarter than Alexei which wasn't really hard but it had been a point of bonding for Melina and Cassie to be able to laugh at the things he said. Despite this though, Cassie got on really well with Alexei as well and the super soldier was more than happy to teach her some of his fighting moves. Melina was more suited to teaching though.
Over the months though, especially since getting engaged. Yelena and Kate had been spending a good deal of time back and forth between New York and Ohio, mostly to spend time with Cassie but also because Kate's mother was in prison and Yelena's wasn't so Melina was tasked with helping for wedding plans. Even though they weren't planning to wed until early spring next year. Natasha and Wanda went with them every now and then as well though they were happy to have the house to themselves. Well them and the dogs.
"Actually I did. It's perfect." Yelena smiles happily looping her arm around her little sister.
"Tell me all about it!" Cassie beamed brightly and Kate was grinning happily.
"I will shortly. First go get changed. We're going out for dinner the five of us." Yelena says poking at the dirt on Cassie's shirt making the girl blush before she headed inside.
"Where are we going?" Kate asks curiously looking at Yelena before she wrapped her arms around her.
"Chinese. That new place that Wanda commented on wanting to try last time we were here." Natasha and Wanda made their way over to the younger couple.
"Oo that place looked poppin." Kate grinned brightly.
"Kitkat…. You're such a New Yorker." Natasha huffs and Wanda couldn't help a light laugh when Kate looked confused.
"Wait you never told me how you two met." Cassie points out mid meal.
"They've never told us either. All I know is the vagues." Natasha spoke up as Kate chewed slowly on a shrimp.
"Well it was before Christmas… actually it was about this time last year give or take a few days." Yelena pondered this for a moment and Kate continued to chew slowly. Wanda watched them both.
"Yeah I was fighting with Clint, I had been sent to kill him. Then noisy showed up on a zip line and I had to kick her ass too." Yelena threw a cheeky grin at Kate who scoffed finally.
"She threw me off a building!" Kate raged lightly though loud enough she caught the attention of a few other patrons.
"I put you on a line first!" Yelena offered the weak defence.
"Wait you threw her off? Then what happened?" Cassie looked from Yelena to Kate.
"Clint cut the line and let me drop the rest of the way and tried to send me home. Wasn't happening. I marched right back up those stairs." Kate had a look of determination on her face even now.
"Of course you did." Natasha rolled her eyes affectionately.
"Clint was still getting his ass beat by myself and the deaf girl. Maya was it? But then Kate came in with a sonic arrow or something and kind of broke everything up. This deaf ninja took to Kate and nearly threw her off the building. I didn't like that at all. Anyways after shooting Maya and getting her to leave it became a 2 on 1." Yelena continued the tale.
"So were they beating you?" Cassie frowned at the mere idea of either of her sisters being beaten.
"No. Not really. But it was close. Clint managed to rip her cowl off and she hit him with the Widow Stingers. When she stood up I was pointing an arrow right at her." Kate was a little calmer now.
"But you didn't shoot me." Yelena smiled gently.
"Why didn't you though? Why hesitate?" Natasha was frowning slightly.
"There's a logical answer… it's something about not having the motive to need her dead." Kate says after a moment looking from Natasha to Yelena.
"But there's more to it than that?" Wanda was watching the pair.
"Well… it's hard to explain. I saw too much." Kate frowned a little.
"Is this going to be sappy and romantic?" Cassie asks softly and Yelena smiles brightly.
"A little." The younger widow admits.
"She was never trying to hurt me, she did put me on that line after all. I had no reason to actually kill her or try. But there was a couple of things. Mostly though there was just too much. Not on her face, Yelena doesn't really let a single thing show on her expression when she's working. But in her eyes. They were…." Kate frowned a little and shook her head as if she wasn't going to finish.
"They were what?" Cassie nudged gently.
"They were sad, and listless. Sure she looked determined and angry. But she looked like there wasn't much a reason for anything. Like she wished she had a reason to be doing anything other that what she was doing." Kate was looking at Yelena who now looked a little surprised.
"I didn't become an assassin for hire because I wanted too. I did it because it felt like a necessity and it was the one thing I was actually good at." Yelena admits gently.
"I was absolutely shattered when I found out about Natasha." Yelena looked gently over at her sister who reached over and gently squeezed Kate's hand. It was always going to be a sore subject for the sisters.
"So you felt bad for her and didn't shoot her?" Cassie looked from her big sisters to Kate.
"I didn't feel bad for her. Not really. I did feel like I wanted to know her sadness though. I think that if I had managed to shoot and kill her that night, which I really don't think she would have allowed, that Yelena would be my one big regret." Kate looked to Cassie fondly and the young girl looked completely taken by the story.
"Is that when you fell in love? Some sort of love at first sight thing?" Cassie was intensely curious.
The first few months of being with them all Cassie had been really closed off, and it had been understandable. While she didn't really pull away from Alexei and Melina she was really only comfortable when Natasha or Kate were around. Eventually though she was enrolled in 8th grade and she really seemed to thrive. Especially when she was given a phone by Pepper Potts of all people and was able to stay in touch with the other girls she'd survived the blue room with. These days she was as bright and vibrant as Kate herself.
"It wasn't love at first sight. In fact it took us months to realise what was between us. We fought, physically. And practically stalked each other. Frienemies." Yelena grinned a little at Kate.
"Yelena uncovered the truth about my mother and text me one night asking if I was ok. We ended up meeting and just talking for a while." Kate chuckles.
"It was more than that. You are the whole reason I hesitated with Clint. Had it not been for you…" Yelena glanced from Kate to Natasha and Wanda and then to Cassie.
"If it hadn't been for you I wouldn't have any of this." Yelena looked back at Kate with tears in her eyes.
Kate smiled gently at Yelena and reached over gently cupping the small assassins cheek in her hand, her thumb brushed gently over the soft skin and Yelena managed to blink back the tears. Cassie watched them with a look of wonder on her face and Wanda leaned into Natasha's side.
"I'd give you the world if I could." Kate wasn't always one for being so sappy but the way Yelena made her feel was so intense.
"You already have." Yelena turned her head and pressed a kiss Kate's palm before the archer leaned forward and pressed her lips gently to Kate's.
"It's not going to upset you if I say they're my favourite couple right?" Natasha asks Wanda playfully.
"No because they're mine too." Wanda smiled lovingly at Natasha who chuckled and pressed a gently kiss to Wanda's lip.
"You're both mine." Cassie offered dreamily making the other four women chuckle affectionately.
"Do you have anyone in your sights?" Wanda asks Cassie after a moment and the teenager wrinkles her nose.
"God no. Could you imagine me taking home a partner to Alexei? I'd be single again in the same minute." Cassie wrinkles her nose and they all laugh again.
I am still taking suggestions for the next chapter that at the moment is just a very loose idea as i am slammed at work. I've had three days off in the last 4 weeks.
