"Halt! Who goes there!"

The Doctor froze in his tracks. His eyes widened upon realising he had been discovered in the abandoned building he was sneaking around inside. Someone was calling after him, and he knew before even turning around that they were running towards him. He stood his ground as he slowly turned around, bracing himself to face the person who was about to confront him.

Racing down the hallway in the Doctor's direction was a man. He was dressed in a grey trench coat with a matching fedora hat. He looked very much like a police officer; one who dressed in the way that the Doctor had seen during his travels through the past. He appeared to be very ordinary - giving nothing away about how he was extraordinary as the Time Lord.

The officer came to a halt before the Doctor. He gazed towards him with a suspicious expression on his face.

"Who are you?" he demanded.

"Who wants to know?" The Doctor asked calmly.

"Why, sir, I am Inspector Gadget!" The man pulled out a wallet to reveal his ID card. "Officer of the Metropolitan Police, investigating this crime scene which you are in the middle of!"

"My apologies, Inspector Gadget." The Doctor raised an eyebrow, thinking this person had a very odd name. "I'm not trying to disrupt your case. I'm only-"

"Save your apologies!" Gadget cut him off. "Answer my question, sonny, and tell me who you are!"

The Doctor's face fell. As much of a strange name, Gadget had, the Time Lord realised he had him beat, for no name had ever been given to him.

No first name. No last name. Just the Doctor.

"Come on!" Gadget said impatiently. "Tell me who you are!"

"I'm the Doctor," came the reply.

"Doctor?" Gadget pulled out a pencil and not book, beginning to scribble away. "Doctor who?"

"Yeah! That's right!"

"Huh?" Baffled by his suspect's reply instead of getting a name out of him, Gadget stared in confusion. "Excuse me? Doctor who?"

"That's correct, Inspector!" The Doctor smiled.

"What?!"

"No, not What! Who?!"

"Doctor Who?!"

"Abseloutely!"

"Enough!" Gadget threw down his notebook and pencil. "A suspect who refuses to give his name from complied, huh?! You must be working for Doctor Claw!"

"Claw?!" The Time Lord repeated in puzzlement, having never met or head Gadget's enemy. "No claws around here! There's only one doctor here and that's m-"

"You're under arrest!" Gadget shouted. "For being an associate of MAD!"

"Mad?!" The Doctor echoed, thinking the Inspector was more than a little bit nuts. "There's only one mad fella around here - and that's you!"

Gadget glared. He was outraged to be faced with who he thought was a MAD agent - and being insulted by him. He was not going to let him get away with it. It was time to show the Doctor what he was really made of.

"Go Go Gadget Cuffs!"

At that moment, Gadget's wrists stretched out from the ends of his arms. The Doctor's eyes widened to see them mechanically stretch towards him. He managed to leap out of the way before the hands grabbed him - resulting in them both tying one another up in a knot.

"Wowzers!" Gadget exclaimed, trying to disentangle himself from the mess his own mechanical body had gotten himself into.

"What are you?" The Doctor cried. "Are you one of the Cybermen?"

Freeing his arms, Gadget glared at the Doctor. He had no intention of confirming if his suspicions about his identity were correct. The only goal on his mind was to haul this shifty character to jail.

The Doctor backed away, not liking the look on Gadget's face. He swung around and started to race off, not willing to let himself be captured - least of all by a bumbling Cyberman.

"Hey! Stop in the name of the law!" Gadget shouted. Go Go Gadget legs!"

As he raced down the corridor, The Doctor looked back to see some wheels form underneath Gadget's feet. He slowed to a stop upon seeing they were not allowing him to chase after him - causing him to instead roll about on the stop, struggling to stay upright.

"Geez," the Doctor muttered to himself. "The Cybermen sure aren't being manufactured like they used to be."

"You can't escape me!" Gadget shouted as he felt his wheeled-feet constantly move under neath him, making him having difficulties in standing still. "I'm always on duty! Go Go Gadget Boosters!"

At that moment, some small rocket-shaped thrusters appeared at the sides of Gadget's roller skates. Both of them let off a loud blast as flames and smoke erupted from the air of them. They caused each of the wheeled-boots to roll quickly forward down the corridor at high speed - dragging the cyborg who was wearing them along.

"Wooooowzzzzzeeeeersssss!"

Gadget's let off an alarmed yell as he rolled down the corridor at an intense speed. He could not stop or control the roller skates on his feet that were causing him to wizz down the hallway at top speed. He flew straight past the Doctor - failing to catch and apprehend him - before crashing head on into the door at the end of the corridor.

"Oof!" The Doctor winced upon seeing Gadget hit the door. "Even for a Cybermen, that's gotta hurt!"

Gadget stumbled back away from the door he had struck. His wheels retreated into his boots as he stumbled around in a daze. He was dizzy and sore from what his own gadgets had caused him to do - but it was still not enough to put him off doing his job.

"Must … arrest … MAD Agent." Gadget slurred, his eyes rolling as stars danced around his head. "Cannot … let … Doctor Claw … win. Go … Go … Gadget-"

"Go Go Sonic Screwdriver!"

Gadget suddenly tensed up upon feeling himself being zapped from behind. His body went ridged as all of his energy drained out of his mechanical body. He tipped over and collapsed to the floor, falling unconscious before the person who had shut him down.

As the stood over where Gadget had landed, the Doctor shook his head dismally as he lowered his hand which was clutching his Sonic Screwdriver.

"I always knew the Cybermen were insane." He muttered as he peered over the robotic machine who had tried to arrest him. "But this one really takes the biscuit. Never in all my years of time-travelling have a seen such a mad machine."

Being so busy looking over the Inspector who he truly believed was one of the Cybermen, the Doctor failed the door Gadget had crashed into was slowly swinging open - to reveal a pair of dogs on the other side. One had an artificial body made of metal and circuits while the other was genuine with fur and bones. Both were looking at their respective owners in embarrassment. They were smart enough to realise Gadget and the Doctor had been at unnecessary odds with one another.

"Ruff ruff ruff!" Brian grumbled in his great annoyance.

"Affirmative." K9 bleeped agreeably.
