In the least likeliest places sometimes something really good for you is found. Once upon a time that was a priest who walked into a child's life at just the right time, to be the father he'd always longed for, and to teach him enough life skills to make a living of sorts.

But maybe life comes in eve stranger packaging. As Yun has met the most unusual people ever, and yet he loves them; they are encouragement when Yun feels lost at sea and support when his legs feel like rickety old ladders that quake and quake against each other.

Yona's strength despite her fear is a guidepost that Yun is definitely learning to follow more and more. And Hak's strength of heart, of his determination to help others out is another lesson. Hak and Yona really do resemble each other in some ways which Yun guesses must be attributed to love.

And Kija's endless optimism in the face of adversity or Jae-Ha's brother like support or even Shin-Ah's often silent support are all little lessons and big joys. And Zeno's positive whole self, built of joy and humor and endless optimism mixed with the hardest of blows dealt to him is unbelievably inspiring just as the rest of their group is as well.

Yun just really loves his makeshift family, a strange lot that inspires him and gives him more strength than Yun knew could be gifted.

If mushrooms are a surprise and a miracle of life, good overcoming adversity, than they are the right unwitting word to describe this group. A little odd, but well worth the discovery, hope rising up.

Yun can barely believe the home he's found by their sides, that doesn't diminish his and Ik-Su's home and family bond, but exists right along beside it.
