A/N: I am republishing this story. There have been edits made. The text that has been italicized is a flashback, and the text that has been bolded is from the show. I am merely borrowing characters besides though that are not recognized.

"Hey Frank," Luke says as he walks into his superior's office.

"What's going on?" Frank asks as he notices the detective standing there. "Need last-minute Christmas shopping help?"

"No, Kay wants to get this family photo done," Luke starts as he looks at him. "I was going to take my lunch and get it done, but with the rookies and the vigilante."

"Nice try," Frank says as he looks at him. "Go take your first family photo of many to come. Did Kat decide on matching outfits?"

"No, she was going to go with the family in Christmas pyjamas but changed her mind," Luke says as he shakes his head. "She found a cute little snowman dress for Fay and decided that we could go with snowman shirts and black pants. Figured it would also be good for work."

"Better than a full-themed suit," Frank jokes with him.

"That is true," Luke says as he looks at his watch. "Okay, I will have my cell on me if something comes out."

"I am sure we can handle things for the next hour," Frank says as he smiles. "Send Gail in here when you pass by the front desk."

"Okay, okay," Luke says as he walks out of the office and towards his own. He can only imagine what would have happened if Kay had found a suit like the one Frank was talking about.

"Please tell me you are on your way to your photo op," Gail says as he passes by the front desk. "And you are not wearing that."

"I am. My shirt is in the car, and Frank wants you," Luke says as he walks through the station. He exits the office and walks over to his car. His phone rings through his car. He activates the Bluetooth. "I am on my way. I needed to check in with Frank before I headed out. There was an incident with the Rookies."

"I heard," Kathleen says as he can hear that she is driving. "Oh, I have a surprise for you."

"Oh yeah, what kind of surprise," Luke says as he exits the Division's parking lot.

"Fay, what did you do today?" Kathleen says.

"Da, la, do," Faylinn says as she claps her hands.

"Oh, my," Luke says in an excited tone as he drives towards the photography studio. "Does this mean what I think it means? That she'll soon be saying, dada."

"Could be," Kathleen says. He can hear Faylinn babbling in the background. "Everything states she should start talking soon. Everyone that has kids is always telling us."

"She will be ready when she is," Luke says as he continues to drive. "Are we still taking her to see Santa this weekend?"

"We are, and then I think we should go over to my aunt and uncles. Gramps and Uncle Bill want to throw Aunt Elaine a family celebratory dinner. How was Gail doing?"

"What do you mean?"

"She is supposed to introduce Aunt Elaine this evening at the awards ceremony. Frank is supposed to tell her, but I know my cousin. She hates public speaking."

"That's likely doing what Frank was doing while I was leaving. What do you mean by she hates public speaking?"

"It's the only thing in the world that rattles her. Add in her mother and you get a terrible mess of nerves and anxiety. God, what was Aunt Elaine thinking? Why not Uncle Bill, Steve, or my dad? I don't understand why she does this to her."

"Is Gail going to make the speech?"

"Likely not. Knowing her, she will say that she had to go home sick. Steve likely has a speech all ready to go. It will all work out ultimately."

"I should ask Frank to assign her some more public engagement work."

"Make sure she cannot trace it back to you or she will be out for blood," Kat says before pausing. "We are here, so we will see you when you get here."

"Okay, love you," Luke says before hanging up the call.

"Please tell me you did not know about Tommy," Luke says as he corners Sam at the coffee area in the station. "Please, please tell me you did not know."

Sam stops and looks at him. He takes a few seconds. "Andy had mentioned Tommy having some issues earlier. It was no genuine surprise to me after the rumours that had gone around. When we got there today, we saw blood and an open door, but all Tommy said was that he didn't know what had happened. His gun was empty, and he had an up-to-date file on Kaliciak on his table."

"This was Tommy's case. I believe this was one of his last cases. He screwed it up and still admits that to this day, but I wasn't about to let his actions affect Andy. We traced his steps, he got into a fight with him at the bar, and then we checked a few spots. It wasn't till about thirty minutes ago that traffic cams caught, her right where she thought he would be. This was about protecting and possibly waking both of them up."

"I can't say I get it, but I can," Luke says as he runs his hands through his hair. "We all know she can't keep cleaning up his mess. It's going to ruin her career."

"I think today was that wake-up call," Sam says as he looks at him. "We will simply have to wait and see how Tommy responds to the ultimatum that is coming his way."

"Hmm," Luke says as he places a sheet of paper on the counter and slides it toward him. "Sometimes you need help from people you can relate to."

Sam nods as he takes the paper and walks away from Luke and the coffee area.
