Time jump:

"Captain Levi!" A scout yelled from the edge of the woods. "We found something!"

"Keep yelling like that and you will alert every titan in the area." Levi growled, stalking his way over. "What is it?"

"In the tree trunk." The young boy pointed at the hollow tree. "Something is in there."

Crouching down he frowned at seeing nothing. "I don-" A small creature stepped out from the tree. It was a dog of light brown color. "A dog."

"What's a dog doing out here?" A scout wondered. "I haven't seen one in a long while."

Levi held his hand out to the animal. "It's a puppy, which-"

"Means the mother isn't far." Erwin approached the huddled group. "You might not want to mess with it."

"It's a dog, Erwin." Levi scoffed. "What's a bitch going to do but bark." Picking the pup up by the scruff of its neck, he flinched at hearing it cry out. "Shit."

Before anyone knew what happened a large black shadow jumped out of the tree and onto Levi. Once everyone calmed down, they froze at seeing the massive dog looming over the Captain. Its paws pressed down on his chest and its mouth snapped inches from his face.

"Captain Levi!" The scouts raised their weapons, aiming at the animal.

"Weapons down." Erwin ordered.

"But...sir?"

Erwin reached for the pup and picked him up gently. "That animal is doing what any mother would do. She is protecting her child from a creep."

Levi glared at him. "I am no a crea-" He stopped at the snap of teeth.

Crouching down he held the pup in his outstretched hand. "Take him."

Adhara glanced at the man handing her Aaron. Deciding against killing the short man, she approached the blond man with caution. "Aaron jump over here." Doing what he was told, the pup jumped off the hand and ran between her legs. "Are you hurt?"

"No, I was just surprised at being picked up." Aaron whimpered.

Checking him over, she grabbed him by the scruff of his neck. Looking back up at the man, she gave him a slight nod of the head. Crawling back into the tree trunk, she used her body to cover the entrance. "Don't just go up to anyone. You don't know what their intentions are."

"Yes alpha."

"I don't think I have ever seen a dog that big." Eren helped Levi off the ground. "It's half the size of a horse."

"That's because it's a wolf." Hange appeared out of nowhere, causing Eren to yell. "I thought they were completely wiped out."

"Well, now you know." Erwin turned back to his men. "It's getting late, let's set up camp here. We should be safe under the cover of the moon. Still, I want three men patrolling. Switch every three hours."

"Yes sir!"

Adhara had turned around to watch the men set up their camp. "Just my luck."

"The men are hungry." Levi muttered. "The supply wagon was destroyed."

"They will just have to push through." Erwin although composed on the outside, was worried. They had a minimum of two days before reaching the wall.

Adhara growled at her ability to not stay out of things. Glancing at Aaron and seeing him asleep, she crawled out of the trunk. Looking back at Erwin, she sighed and walked toward him.

"Erwin." Levi glared at the wolf.

Erwin raised his hand to stop the others from reacting. "Don't do anything."

Stopping in front of him, she grabbed the sleeve of his shirt and tugged at it. "You want to eat, you need to follow me." Tugging once more, she let go and walked towards the woods. "Come on!"

"I think she wants you to follow her." Hange stated.

Erwin frowned for a moment, before grabbing a torch and standing. "Alright then, let's go."

"You seriously going to follow that thing into the woods?" Levi raised a brow. "When it eats you don't come calling for me."

Erwin tossed him an amused look. "I'd be too busy dying to call for you."

Adhara glanced at the tall man trailing behind her. She had picked up on his scent the moment he approached her. It was the same one she had been following. 'So he's the one. Well, he's handsome and holds himself as an alpha would. I suppose Mother Nature finally got this one right.' Pushing past a bush, she reached for the dead stag and pulled it out into the open. 'This should feed everyone.'

Erwin quirked a brow at the dead animal. "I think you may have just saved the sanity of my men." Looking around for a place to lower the torch, he was surprised by the wolf taking it. "Alright then." Grabbing the stag and draping it over both his shoulders, he trailed behind her once more.

Levi looked with confusion. "What is that?"

"Micheal." Erwin called one of the cooks. "Prep this and get it cooking."

"Y-yes, sir."

He stopped the boy with a hand on his shoulder. "I want at least the hindquarters and a leg cut off for the wolves."

"Sir?"

"We wouldn't be eating at all if it weren't for her." Erwin pointed out.

The boy nodded. "Understood."

"She guided me to the stag." Erwin elaborated to the still confused Hange and Levi. "Judging by the teeth marks on its neck, I assume she hunted it down earlier."

"And she just lead you to it?" Hange gazed at the wolf. It sat beside Erwin's vacant seat. Her eyes were focused on everyone but him, almost as if watching over Erwin. "Erwin, what do you plan on doing with her?"

Seeing the sparkle in his eye, Levi shook his head. "You can't seriously think of taking her in? She's a wild animal?"

"I took you in."
