Dumb

"He's still not saying anything?" Jude asked, sitting with Sean at their kitchen table late on after he'd gotten home from work.

"The only thing he is saying is that he didn't do it. But he has been arrested for breaking and entering. And also for waving a gun at us." Sean shook his head, "I'll probably get told to keep away from him eventually."

"Because you're too close to it all?" Jude figured as Sean nodded, "Maybe that wouldn't be so bad. I don't want it all to fall on your shoulders." She shook her head.

"I wanna make sure we get him for this, though. You saw him. He's clearly unwell. Danger to society." Sean said as Jude looked at him.

"Or he really didn't do and he's just really upset about her death?" Jude questioned as Sean looked at her.

"Do you really believe that?" He asked.

"Well is there evidence to suggest he did murder her? It's like we've been saying. The fact she was having an affair with him doesn't mean he's our one and only suspect." She said as Sean smiled a little, "What?" She shook her head.

"You said our." He said, "NYPD should start paying you." He nodded seriously as she smiled.

"They should." Jude scoffed, "At least tell me you know where I'm coming from." She said, "Lisa had a whole life. I knew this tiny little bit of it. Maybe she pissed off a lot of people. Maybe she had multiple affairs going on." She suggested.

"We've checked all of that out with her parents. She was a quiet girl-"

"Maybe her parents didn't know what she was up to." Jude said.

"Why are you team Fred?" He asked her curiously.

"I'm not team Fred." Jude rolled her eyes, "I just think he… well he looks so traumatised by her death. He's running around here like a crazy man, trying to get his hands on her art work-"

"Trying to make sure he doesn't get caught?" Sean rephrased as Jude sighed a little.

"I know." She nodded, "Hey, I don't know anything. I'm just trying to figure out what the hell is going on, just like you." She said as he nodded.

"Yeah I know." Sean said, "You doing alright? This has been a lot." He nodded.

"I'm ok." Jude said.

"How is Leela?" Sean asked, "If anything, I was most worried about her getting caught up in the middle of all of that." He admitted as Jude nodded in agreement.

"She's fine." Jude assured him, "She did ask who the man was in the house. And why did daddy hurt him." She said, "But I just told her he was a friend and that daddy and him were just playing." She nodded, "After that she didn't bother asking anything else." She said.

"That's good, I suppose." Sean nodded.

"Cassie has invited us over this weekend." Jude told him, "To celebrate Cinco de Mayo. They're hosting Theo's family I think and she asked if we wanted to come along with the girls." She said, "Cassie doesn't host things so… I figured we'd maybe make the effort to go."

"Sure. Sounds good actually." Sean nodded.

"My parents are on vacation so they won't be there but I'm assuming Thea will be." Jude said as Sean nodded, "I'll look at flights for us in the morning." She told him, getting up from the table and wandering over to the fridge.

"If anything goes down with Fred I'm sure I'll get a call anyway." Sean nodded, "Not that it looks like he's gonna say much else."

"Maybe you guys should consider getting a psychologist in to speak with him." Jude nodded, "Has he asked for a lawyer?" She wondered as Sean watched her, looking at the tattoo on her spine, only visible due to her tied up hair and tank top she had on. She had one some short shorts too, and very clearly no bra.

"Are you… hot in here or something?" Sean smiled a little as she turned to him.

"Huh?" She shook her head, watching him smile, "What?" She laughed a little, "It was nice out when I went to pick the girls up."

"You picked them up without a bra on?" He asked, standing up from the table as she laughed a little.

"I had a sweatshirt on." Jude said, "Why? Afraid I was showing everyone the goods?" She smirked.

"Yeah." He said, half joking, half being serious as she smiled. Secretly, the Sean she loved the most was the protective Sean who wanted to hide her away from everyone, keeping her all to himself. She'd been extremely fond of the return of that in her life ever since he'd moved back in.

"How dumb do you feel sometimes?" She asked, leaning her back against the fridge as he made his way over to her, looking down at her.

"About what?" He asked, placing his hand on the fridge above her head, towering over her as she smiled a little.

"That you almost lost this." She nodded. She'd gotten cockier since he'd moved back in. Teasing him but still making him aware of how stupid he had been. He allowed it, mostly because he figured it was fair and also because she tended to do it right before they had extremely passionate sex.

"How dumb do I feel about it?" He repeated.

"Yeah?" She whispered.

"Like the dumbest motherfucker on earth." He nodded truthfully as she smiled.

"Show me how dumb you feel." She said, unbuttoning her shorts as he smiled, leaning down and kissing her, taking hold of her waist and lifting her over onto the kitchen counter.

She felt his hands run up her thighs, tongue deep in her mouth as she grabbed his neck, wrapping her legs around him to pull him closer, moaning into his mouth.

"Fuck, I love you so much." He said, his mouth falling away from hers whilst she unbuttoned his shirt. He took over impatiently, taking his shirt off and throwing it on the floor, moving onto pulling her tank top over her head, immediately going to her breasts, one hand on one and mouth on the other as she rolled her head back.

"Fuck." Jude whispered, running her fingers through his hair as he continued to make his way down her body.

"How is he doing in there?" Thea asked as Dominic came through to the kitchen.

"He's tired." Dominic nodded, "Traumatic day, I guess."

"Yeah, no kidding." Thea scoffed, "Cassie has invited us over for the weekend, by the way." She let him know, pouring herself some coffee whilst he leaned against the counter watching her.

"Why?" Dominic asked.

"Well she's having Theo's family over for Cinco de mayo. I think she just wants some of us there." Thea shrugged, "My parents won't be there, they're on vacation for the week."

"Sounds good." Dominic nodded.

"Jude might be going too." Thea nodded, "You know what I was thinking the other day?"

"What were you thinking?" He smiled, watching her sit down at the table.

"We've never hung out the six of us, have we?" Thea asked him.

"Don't think so." Dominic thought about it, "We're old. And sober. They don't wanna hang out with us." He shook his head as Thea smiled a little.

"Even before, though." She said, "I don't know… isn't that a little weird?"

"No?" Dominic shook his head, "Jude doesn't even live here. Theo and Cassie barely leave the house. I wouldn't say the six of us are particularly going out people anyway." He said.

"Or there's two people who don't like each other." Thea raised a brow.

"That'd be you and Sean probably." Dominic figured.

"I like Sean." Thea scoffed, "Minus what he did, I've never had an issue with him."

"I don't know… you guys always look like you'd rather be anywhere else but in each other's company." Dominic said.

"Maybe it's you who doesn't like Sean?" Thea looked at him over her mug which she raised to her lips for a drink, "Or Theo. Do you have an issue with Theo?" Thea smiled, teasing him of course.

"Theo who has looked out for our kids on more than one occasion? Yeah, he's a bastard." Dominic nodded as Thea smiled, "Siblings and their partners don't all have to hang out, you know."

"Maybe Theo has an issue with Sean." Thea thought to herself.

"Nobody has issues with anyone. Stop it." Dominic chuckled as Thea smiled deviously, "You know you're a troublemaker, don't you?"

"I've heard it since the first grade." Thea nodded, "Maybe it's just weird cause my mom and dad and Dean and Renee always hung out together. When I was little, they were always together. Always at each other's houses." She said.

"Your dad and Dean are like twins, though. Plus they kinda grew up with your mom too." Dominic said, "There's age gaps with you and your sisters. Cassie is like thirteen years younger than you. She's still a baby. Ain't no way she wants to hang out with us."

"She doesn't hang out with anyone." Thea corrected.

"And you do?" Dominic raised an eyebrow as she made a face at him.

"I hang out with you." She smiled sweetly.

"Doesn't count." He shook his head as she chuckled.

"Well I'll let Cassie know we'll be there." Thea said, "As long as James is feeling up to it."

"He's been crutching around the place since he got in." Dominic nodded, "Can't sit still."

"Sounds familiar." Thea said, "Was Lucia ok about watching the girls for an hour? She always says she isn't good with kids." She said.

"She was fine, from what I could tell." Dominic nodded.

"The other day she was asking me about her dad." Thea told him, "I think it's bothering her that she doesn't know anything about him."

"Does she want to know about him?" Dominic asked cautiously, "I'm sure the things she does know would keep her away from finding out more."

"Well yeah she knows he was a terrible person. Evil." Thea nodded, "But I think she wants to know how he ended up down that road. Honestly I'm kinda curious too." She said, "I told her I didn't know much but my parents might. Whether she'll ask them about him, I'm not so sure." She said.

"Well it's a difficult subject with your parents." Dominic said, "Understandably."

"Yeah but they'd tell her whatever she wanted to know." Thea said, "I think."

"Did he ever speak to you about him?" Dominic asked, "Jackson?"

"No, well I didn't know that was his dad until we'd broken up." Thea said, "He always told me that his dad just wasn't in the picture." She shrugged, "Which to be fair, I don't think he was very much. Not until their little bonding experience in prison."

"Weird." Dominic shook his head as Thea nodded in agreement, "How you been doing with all that? The nightmares and stuff?" He asked her.

"Better, I think." Thea nodded, "They come and go, I guess. The good thing is… I get to wake up and realise that they are just nightmares. The even better thing is… I get to wake up and the first thing I see is you. So I know everything is gonna be fine." She said as Dominic smiled.

"You're sweet." Dominic smiled as she nodded, standing up and walking over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck, pressing her lips against his.

"It's almost been twenty years since we started dating. Where are you taking me?" She asked quietly as he chuckled, looking into her eyes.

"Wherever you wanna go." He nodded seriously as she smiled, kissing him again until they heard a banging on the kitchen door, turning around and seeing James standing with his crutches, banging one against the door to get their attention.

"Yes?" Thea laughed a little.

"I need to go to the bathroom." James nodded, "Can someone follow me up in case I fall?" He asked seriously.

"Sure, baby. Let's go." Thea nodded, following behind him to the stairs, watching him begin to hop up them on his good leg one by one, "You got it." Thea encouraged, following closely behind him, "I'm right behind you."

"James has a funny leg!" Sam exclaimed from the top of the stairs as Thea looked up.

"You look stupid." Sofia added, standing beside her little sister as James concentrated on the stairs.

"I hate them." James told Thea who could only laugh a little, "I could have been an only child." He said.

"What's the fun in that?" Thea smiled, "Keep going." She encouraged.
