Hey, folks. ToonFanJoey here. Before I continue anything, I may as well just give out these ideas that might not be able to come to fruition because I don't have the spirit to carry them out, especially given the fact I'm not that great a writer to make it act as a convincing work of a franchise's story.
All of these ideas involve the Saluki talent scout that fans and the Illumination crew don't want to see in the future again.
The following ideas include:
* Buster tries to get Suki to obtain a more positive outlook on things like he does, and believes she has some talent inside of her, thus tries to encourage whatever hidden talent she has gotten inside of her out, though she feels reluctant to share it. There's even one part where Buster tries encouraging her by singing himself, to her annoyance. Generally, trying to get her to be less of a stick in the mud, get out and enjoy life.
* Suki sharing one backstory would be that when she was younger, she had dreams of being a performer herself, but her talent wasn't something the judges she came before were looking for, and every talent judge she went towards thought the same way. So eventually she became disillusioned and thought it was better for her to look for the right talents than to even try proving that she could have talent herself, and like a certain fox in Zootopia, she would try to remain as hard as stone around everyone, not wanting to let anybody see any signs of weakness in her.
* Her being more comedic to go with her snarky personality.
* An alternate version of Zootopia where she and Buster work together, having the Nick-Judy dynamic.
* Suki joining the Moon Troupe every so often while still trying to be the new boss of Crystal Entertainment, getting more involved with the group
* Suki being a trio with Buster and Eddie, having a dynamic similar to Fry, Bender (without the crass rudeness), and Leela. I even thought of a crack pairing between her and Eddie, as they're alike. Both are connected to the rich, sense the danger in Buster's schemes, care about him, and help with their shows.
* Suki going on a date with Buster.
* Cast covers of songs with Suki as one of the cast members involved. Examples: "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins, "All Over the World" by E.L.O., and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" from Cats Don't Dance.
* A short idea based off the Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse short, "Keep On Rollin'".
The plot would have been that Buster, Suki (as Buster's date), Johnny, Gunter, Rosita, Norman, Porsha, Nooshy, Miss Crawly and Darius (as the DJ) spend a night to skate at Redshore's disco rink until a group of gate-crashing animal derby skaters led by an old rival of Crawly's (an elderly obese cat voiced by Sandy Martin) barge in, take over the rink and kick Buster's group out of the club. They try to find a substitute club but the places they try are terrible, so they return in an attempt to win the rink back. By the way, Clay and Ash would be absent because it's hard to imagine them being into disco, and Meena and Alfonso wouldn't be there either because they'd be either on a date or babysitting the piglets.
* A version of the proposed third film with this subplot. Jimmy breaks out of jail, still wanting to kill Buster for his humiliation, ignoring the fact that he brought it on himself, and in the climax, Suki sacrifices herself to save Buster.
Otherwise there would be a happier ending. I got the idea watching a music video of "I Have Nothing" from The Bodyguard.
* A dream Buster has where he exists in France in the early 1900's in a Moulin Rouge-type story (which was my first impression of the first Sing before they even showed the trailers), with Buster and Suki as the lead couple, and other anthro characters as the other characters. I even imagined a separate idea of the two singing the Elephant Love Medley in the present, with Buster insisting they should be in a relationship while Suki insists it wouldn't work but thinks it over and changes her mind, happily finishing the song with him.
* Several ideas of love duets between Buster and Suki. Some of those include "Love Again" by Dua Lipa, "Something Stupid" by Frank and Nancy Sinatra, "Rewrite the Stars" from The Greatest Showman (highlighting their differences in destination and otherwise), "That Face" from The Producers (with the lyrics modified to be sung from both perspectives), and "I Knew You Were Waiting for Me" by Aretha Franklin and George Michael.
* "Anything You Can Do" from Annie Get Your Gun being covered by Suki and Buster when preparing for a show, arguing over who could prepare a show better.
* Suki singing "Tell Me Lies" from Cats Don't Dance (as they remind me very much of Danny and Sawyer) and "I Won't Say (I'm In Love)" from Hercules, both directed towards Buster.
* Suki interacting and becoming friends with other characters like Rosita and Miss Crawly.
* Buster and Suki being Porsha's new parents.
* Under circumstances, Buster and Suki end up being performers in one of their futures, even when they're usually a director and a business woman.
* A Valentine's Day-themed special with different plots focused on few different couples, Meena and Alfonso being one of them, and there being hints towards Buster and Suki.
* A Christmas-themed special with her as one of the characters.
* An eventual ceremony with the two.
So anyway, my spirit to actually get any of these ideas written down for the following reasons:
* Her being the least popular character of the fandom, due to her not having enough positive screen time and not having enough fan art, and her absence from marketing. A sure-fire sign that the writers plan to axe her from the third film or anything else.
* The common decision of filmmakers to find a likable character in a previous instalmment useless or unworthy to put in any sequel. That's happened with Artie in Shrek the Third, the sharks in Finding Dory, Tiberius in The Secret Life of Pets 2, Louis the Molehog in Ice Age: Collision Course, and Master Storming Ox in Kung Fu Panda 3.
* The filmmakers stating that if the third film's greenlit, they plan to bring more new animal characters when they have way too much than they know what to do with, and it's likely she'll be excluded, with her character arc completely ignored rather than exploring her character a little more while still including new characters and the Moon Troupe.
* The three reasons discouraging me from believing such situations could happen with her, along with how I'm not a great writer.
* The fact that I already had a female Saluki character planned for the Sing universe who performs, and was also planning to give a Nick-Judy dynamic between her and a male cat character, and am not sure if I can have them happen with both couples, even though it is super tempting.
* People not finding these believable.
You can still expect deleted scenes, but as far as doing any more work with the Buster-Suki relationship or even her on activities with the group? I don't hopefully know the answer to that.
That's all for now.
