Olivia Benson took a deep breath as she stepped off the elevator for another day in the Manhattan Special Victim's Unit's 16th precinct. She knew it was weird, but she loved the way the smell of Cassidy's battery acid coffee mixed with the smell of the floor polish. She loved the way the fluorescent lights bounced off the desks. It might have been dark and dingy to some people, but to Olivia it felt like home.
She dropped her jacket and her bag at her desk and joined Cassidy at the evidence board.
"Hey Bri," Liv said, taking in the details in front of her. They'd just caught two perps in their last case who were currently rotting in the cage until the interview rooms opened up.
"Hey Liv," Cassidy said, turning around and smiling at her. "You look happy, where'd you go this morning?"
"Oh, I stopped by this new coffee shop," she said. "They have a…"
"That's nice," Cassidy said, cutting her off. "Monqiue where's that file?"
"Pipe down, pretty boy," Jeffries said, rounding the corner. "Got it right here."
Jeffries and Cassidy started to argue over the file, and Olivia rolled her eyes and stepped back. Her Captain, Don Cragen was coming out of his office and heading right for her.
"Morning, Captain," she said.
"Good morning, Liv," he said. "You guys cracked the Lewis case already?"
He'd been called away on some kind of business for IAB last night when they made the bust.
"Yeah, we're ready to take him and his croney into interrogation when the rooms open up," she said.
"Any problems with them?" Cragen asked. "Can you believe the little one wanted to apply to CSU?"
"Thankfully that'll never happen now," Olivia said. "No problems apprehending them, but the tall one is a little… forceful."
"You want off the case?" Cragen asked.
"Hell no," Olivia said. "I'm just waiting to take my crack at him in the box."
"Well, be careful," Cragen said. "If you don't have a good feeling about it, that's probably worth listening to.
"I don't know how we ended up here," Dale Stuckey whispered from his place in the holding cell. "You never miss a shot Billy, you're the greatest hunter I've ever met."
"I know, Dale," Lewis grunted angrily. "I haven't missed anything. This is all part of the plan."
"There's no beast alive that's a match for you," Stuckey said. "And no girl can resist ya."
"Yeah it's true," Lewis said. "I have that dumb bitch lawyer in my back pocket. She'll come in handy. But I got my sights set on that one."
Stuckey followed Lewis' finger to where he was pointing to the pretty brunette detective. She'd been a lot nicer to him when they were getting brought in than he expected.
"The detective?" Stuckey asked.
"Yeah, she's the one," Lewis said. "The next lucky girl to take a ride on the Willy Wagon."
"But she's…" Dale said, stuttering.
"The most beautiful piece of ass I've ever seen," Lewis said. "She's probably a real feisty one.
"I know, but…" Dale started again. Little nobody girls from the park were one thing. A dippy defense attorney straight out of law school was another. But this woman was an NYPD detective. She wouldn't be as easy to trick as the others.
"That makes her the best challenge," Lewis said. "And you know how I love a good challenge."
"Yeah, I know you do Billy," Stuckey said, still not feeling quite right about it.
"From the minute I saw her I knew she and I could have some fun together," Lewis said. "I can't wait for what it's going to feel like. Her skin under my hands. Putting that hot metal against her skin, everywhere. Being inside her."
Stucky didn't get off on the torture the way Lewis did. He was just a little dweeb who wanted to be accepted and run with the big boys. And Lewis was one scary big boy, and now Stuckey was locked in with him for life.
Stuckey watched as Lewis' eyes lit up as Detectives Benson and Cassidy strode towards the holding cell.
"It's your lucky day boys," Cassidy said. "The interrogation rooms just opened up."
Stuckey was really hoping to get paired with Detective Benson. She was pretty and seemed nicer than Cassidy. Smarter too. Plus, he wasn't really sure if he wanted her to be alone with Lewis.
"Pipsqueak," Cassidy said, stepping into the cell, grabbing Stucky by the arm. "You're coming with me."
"Guess it really is my lucky day, sweetheart," Lewis said. "Since I get you."
"I wouldn't be so sure about that, " Olivia said, pulling Lewis out of the cage by his arm and hauling him to the box.
