A day had passed since the Fairy Tail mages had confronted the dark guild, Akuma, to save the Avatar. As soon as they left the lair, they contacted the authorities to take care of everyone in the lair. Fortunately, none escaped. Korra was relieved to learn that Gritchmen would never harm any humans and spirits ever again.
After that, they returned to Magnolia where they told Makarov everything that had happened and he was grateful that they had all returned home safely. After treating the wounds received during the fights, everyone went home.
The next morning, everything went on like any other day, that is, Korra and Lucy arrived at the guild to find the others engaged in another fight. To the Avatar's surprise, she wasn't even surprised. Surely she had gotten used to it.
"I hope you learned your lesson and don't eat my piece of cake in my absence." Erza said with her arms crossed and squinting at the dragon slayer and exceed blue who were beaten and pounded.
"Yeah..." they both groaned at the same time.
"Hey, why was I beaten too?" asked Gray who had also been beaten and crushed.
"You were in the way." said Erza as if it was nothing.
That made Korra burst out laughing at the team's antics.
"You are a funny bunch. Haha." said Korra.
"More like weird." said Charle.
"She's partly right, though." said Wendy.
"Never a dull day with you." said Loki suddenly appearing behind Lucy and Korra.
"I guess so." said Lucy before she realized who said the above and turned around quickly with a surprised expression. "Loki! What are you doing here?" asked Lucy.
"I came to report some important news." began Loki before approaching Korra and putting his arm around her shoulders. "Also, I wanted to personally meet the Avatar and the spirit within her." said Loki in a gallant and flirtatious manner.
"Uh... I'm sorry, but I have a girlfriend." said Korra knowing of the spirit's intentions.
"I know, but I wouldn't mind if you, your girlfriend and I met up for a drink sometime." said Loki willing to go to that level.
"Weren't you coming here to fill us in on something?!" asked Lucy annoyed by the spirit's attitude towards her friend.
"Well, yes. You see, shortly after I learned of Korra's story, I went to report it to the celestial spirit king." said Loki.
"Wait, spirits have a king?" asked Korra surprised at the spirit's existence.
"Well, yes. The oldest and most powerful spirit of all." said Lucy remembering her encounters with him.
Korra was surprised by her. She knew that Raava and Vaatu were the most powerful spirits of all, but they never ruled over them as kings, but in that world, the spirits had a king. She wondered what that king looked like.
"As I was saying." began Loki regaining the others' attention. "I told the celestial spirit king about your situation and he has told me that there is a way for you to return." announced Loki surprising the Avatar and Team Natsu.
"Does that mean... I can go back to my world?" asked Korra very surprised to receive that information.
"That's great!" said Erza.
"You're finally going back to your world." said Wendy.
While most are happy for their friend, Lucy was also sad, as it meant she would have to leave.
"Why did it take you so long to tell us?" asked Gray realizing how much time had passed between when Korra arrived and now.
"Have you forgotten that the time between the human world and the spirit world is very different?" asked Loki.
"That's right." said Gray what happened when they were only a day in the spirit world.
"Then we have to go to the spirit world." said Korra.
"We don't have to. The king thought it would be better to do it in this world so it would be easier for you." said Loki.
"There is a place just outside the city that is perfect for this." said Lucy remembering a certain place.
"I think I have an idea what place you mean. Well, we'll see you there tonight." said Loki before disappearing.
Korra couldn't believe it. After so many days, she would finally return to her world, to her home. Part of her was happy to finally be back, but another part of her wasn't quite happy, for she would have to say goodbye to the people who had treated her so well since she arrived, the people who treated her like one of the family despite being from another world and the person who had helped her so much.
The others seemed to understand how the Avatar was feeling.
"Well, wipe those frowny faces off at once." began Natsu before standing upright on the table. "It's time to celebrate our friend being able to return to her world!" exclaimed Natsu followed by cheers from the other members who were happy for her.
Korra couldn't help but smile at the fire dragon slayer's intentions to give her one last good memory of that world before she left.
For the next few hours, Korra was experiencing what was arguably the guild's biggest party and all because of her. She passed back and forth thanking all the guild members as they wished her luck.
Gajeel once again asked her to turn small metal things into one and there was no complaint from anyone, as you could tell it was his way of saying he would miss her, as Levy told her.
Later she got a hug from the three Strauss siblings, although Elfman's almost broke her back. Then she got another hug from Juvia, who kept letting out spurts of tears at having to say goodbye to her new friend. All Korra could do for her was return the hug to try to comfort her.
After that, she thanked the guild master for all he had done for her and Makarov told her that he did as any father would do for his children, making Korra respect him even more.
Finally, after many hours of partying, night was coming. While the other members went to their homes, the Avatar and Team Natsu were heading towards the place where Korra could return to her world.
"Hey Lucy, where exactly are we going?" asked Korra.
"Near here is a place called the Hill of the Stars, due to the lack of buildings, very few people are seen around there, so it's ideal place for there to be no interruptions." explained Lucy.
"Good thinking. We don't want any unforeseen events to happen." said Erza directing her narrowed gaze at the fire dragon slayer.
"Why are you looking at me?" asked Natsu confused.
"Because you're the one most likely to cause trouble." said Gray.
In the next instant, the foreheads of both mages bumped together as they looked at each other and different colored auras surrounded them.
"What's that supposed to mean, ice princess?" asked Natsu.
"It means you tend to think with your muscles than with the ash brain you have." said Gray.
"You want a fight?" asked Natsu.
"There won't be any fighting, will there?" asked Erza looking at them with daggers in her eyes, causing each to put their arm over the other's shoulder while smiling with fear on their faces.
"N-No. N-not at all." said Natsu.
"Yes. We're just making friendly small talk." said Gray.
Korra laughed lightly as she saw how Erza had them overpowered with just her gaze. She had to admit she would miss those situations.
After a few more minutes of walking, just as night came completely, they came to a hill on the top of which they could see the ruins of some stone building, but what caught Korra's attention the most was the amount of stars that could be seen from there. Which explained the name of the place.
"Well, what now?" asked Wendy not knowing what to do now.
Suddenly, Korra froze as she sensed something, or rather, Raava sensed something.
"Look!" exclaimed Happy pointing upwards.
They all turned their gaze skyward to watch as the stars began to swirl. Suddenly, from the center of the swirl of stars, a light so bright that it forced them to cover their eyes.
When they opened them, their eyes and mouths dropped open at what they were seeing, for in front of them and floating in the air, was the celestial spirit king, the ruler of the spirits.
Korra was completely amazed. She had seen different kinds of spirits in her world, like Raava and Vaatu, even in that world she had seen some of Lucy's spirits, but she had never imagined the spirit king to look like that. She didn't even have words to describe it.
"You must be the Avatar, right?" the celestial spirit king asked.
Korra snapped out of her surprise when the spirit king mentioned her.
"Y-Yes, that's me." began Korra before bowing in respect. "It is truly an honor to meet you, your majesty."
"The honor is mine as well. I must say that in my many years of existence, I have never met a human like you. Especially the spirit that dwells in you." said the celestial spirit king.
Suddenly, Korra's body began to glow before, to everyone's surprise, out of her mouth came Raava, who stood in front of the spirit king.
"W-what is that?" asked Natsu in surprise.
"It must be Raava, the spirit that dwells inside Korra." said Erza.
"But how could it have gotten out?" asked Gray.
"Surely it must be because of the presence of the celestial spirit king." speculated Charle.
Lucy was of them all the most surprised, for that was the first time she had seen the spirit of light and order.
"Honestly, I haven't met a spirit like you either." said Raava.
"Hehehe. Are you impressed?" asked the celestial spirit king with a small smile.
"Among other things." said Raava before turning to stand in front of Lucy, who was a little surprised and nervous to have her so close. "I'd like to thank you, Lucy Heartfilia, for everything you've done for Korra. You were a good friend."
Lucy couldn't help but blush at the spirit's compliments.
"Thank you. And I must admit, you're prettier than I thought you were." said Lucy with a smile.
"Thank you." said Raava before slipping back into Korra's body, who gave Lucy a smile that was returned.
"Avatar Korra. Since you are good friends with Lucy and for saving those spirits by defeating the spirit slayer, I, the spirit king, will grant your wish to return to your world." said the celestial spirit king.
"Can you really do that?" asked Korra, surprised that the spirit king was going to grant her request.
"Of course I can. Your world is connected to the spirit world, so it won't be a problem for me." said the celestial spirit king before extending his hand towards the ground. Soon after, a full-sized rotating portal formed. "Here is the way back. When you cross it, you will return to your world."
Korra was very happy as in front of her was the way back to her world, to her family, to her friends and most of all to her girlfriend, but she was also sad, as she would have to say goodbye to her new friends.
Even though she wasn't a mage like them, even though she was from another world, they treated her as one of their guild, of their family.
"I'm going to miss you." said Wendy.
Korra gave her a smile as she rubbed her head with her hand.
"Me too and I hope you and Chelia will be very happy together." asked Korra.
"We will." began Wendy with a nod. "By the way, what did you mean the other night by 'do that'?" asked Wendy remembering what they talked about at the slumber party.
Charle, who knew what she was talking about, sent the Avatar a withering glare not to tell her anything. Despite the exceed's clear threat, Korra kept her smile.
"I'll tell you when you're older." said Korra receiving a cute pout from the dragon slayer in the sky.
"It was nice to meet you." said Erza extending her hand to the Avatar.
"Likewise." said Korra shaking her hand.
"The next time we face each other, it will be different." said Erza.
"I'm sure." said Korra.
"It was fun while it lasted." said Gray.
"It was." said Korra before realizing something. "Gray, your clothes."
The ice mage arched an eyebrow in confusion before looking down to see that he had been left in his boxers.
"But what the...? How often did this have to happen!" said Gray angrily, though that made Korra chuckle lightly.
"Even if you're going back to your world, you'll always be a member of Fairy Tail. Don't forget that." said Natsu pointing to the guild symbol on his shoulder.
"Aye sir!" said Happy.
Korra glanced at the symbol on her shoulder, the symbol that represented the guild she was a part of despite the circumstances.
"No. I won't. Even though I'm the Avatar, I'm also a member of Fairy Tail." said Korra.
Natsu gave her a toothy grin before stretching his fist towards her.
"Now you're talking!" said Natsu with Korra bumping her fist into his.
After that, Korra turned to the last person left to say goodbye, the one who had been kindest to her, the one who tried to cheer her up whenever she was sad.
She was about to say something when Lucy suddenly hugged her.
"I'm going to miss you so much." said Lucy trying to hold back tears, but it didn't seem to work.
Korra could understand her pain and all she could do was hug her back warmly. Both girls held the hug with a small part of them wishing that moment wouldn't end, but it had to end.
"What I said that night. I meant it." said Korra to the celestial mage's surprise. "I'll miss you too... sister."
Hearing that, tears began to stream down the celestial mage's face as she tightened her embrace, which the Avatar did as well.
Finally they pulled apart, hands on each other's shoulders.
Lucy wiped her tears with her arm.
"Will we ever see each other again?" asked Lucy in a hopeful tone.
"I don't know." said Korra to the celestial mage's disappointment. "But you never know." said Korra with a small smile, managing to make Lucy smile too.
Korra started on her way to the portal, but stopped a few feet from it and turned her head to look at Team Natsu. It was then, when the Avatar raised her left arm with her index finger pointing to the sky and her thumb extended to the side.
Team Natsu smiled with joy, for that was the official gesture of Fairy Tail, a gesture that symbolized that no matter the distance, they will always be together.
After that, Korra stepped forward and crossed the portal which disappeared shortly after, followed by the celestial spirit king.
Team Natsu was happy to have their friend back in their world. Even though they may have had to say goodbye to her, that gesture cheered them up knowing that they would be friends no matter the time or distance.
However, there was one person they were worried about, the person who was most affected by the Avatar's farewell.
"Are you okay, Lucy?" asked Erza with a hint of concern.
Lucy stared up at the starry sky for a moment before focusing her gaze on them.
"Yes. Come on, let's go home." said Lucy with a smile, for even though she had to say goodbye to the person she considered a sister, she would hold out hope that someday they would meet again.
Korra felt a strange familiar energy coursing through her body. It was like when she crossed the spirit portals.
"Avatar Korra."
"Majesty?" asked Korra surprised to hear the voice of the celestial spirit king in her head.
"I just want to inform you that if you ever want to return to Earthland, just call me and I will open the way for you." said the celestial spirit king.
Korra was very surprised at how kind and generous the spirit king was.
"Would you really?" asked Korra.
"Of course. Lucy would be very sad if she stopped seeing her sister." said the celestial spirit king, making Korra smile.
"You seem to care." said Korra.
"Hahaha. Well of course. Lucy is a friend of mine just like you, Avatar." said the celestial spirit king before his presence disappeared completely.
Korra was happy to know that she could go back to the other world to see all the friends she made there. She even thought she could bring her friends there to meet each other.
A few seconds later, she arrived at her destination and when she opened them, she was shocked to see that she was outside the Republic City spirit portal.
Finally, she had returned to her world. Korra was relieved to see that she had returned to the city she considered home, where she lived with her friends. She was looking forward to seeing them all, but right now, there was only one person she wanted to see.
Asami had spent a few horrible days, as she hadn't seen Korra since then. She had called everywhere, but no one had seen her. She even went to the spirit world to ask the spirits in person, but none of them had seen her either.
After that, she asked the police to help her search, but so far they hadn't gotten a clue. Sometimes, her friends would come to see her to try to cheer her up by telling her that Korra would be okay or that she was capable of taking care of herself, etc., but that didn't do much good.
TOC-TOC
She had to interrupt her thoughts and worries when someone knocked on the door. It was probably Bolin coming again to try to cheer her up, which she didn't need at that moment.
"Bolin, if it's you, I hope you bring news about..." began Asami opening the door, only to be transfixed by who was on the other side.
"Hi. Am I coming at a bad time?" asked Korra jokingly.
"Korra!" shouted Asami rushing over to give her a hug, causing her to almost fall backwards.
"I missed you too, Asami." said Korra knowing how worried her girlfriend would be about her sudden absence.
"What happened to you? Where have you been? Are you okay?" asked Asami in a quick manner.
"Calm down, Asami. I'm fine." began Korra managing to make her girlfriend relax a little. "As for where I've been. Well, it's a long story."
For the rest of the afternoon, Korra was telling Asami everything she experienced in the other world, from joining a mage guild to facing a spirit devourer, something that terrified the engineer if it wasn't for Korra managing to reassure her by telling her that she defeated him in the end.
It was then that Asami found 'Sorcerer Magazine' with Korra on the cover, which made her demand answers from her girlfriend. That prompted the two women to have a serious conversation.
With sexy results.
