I will say this now... there is potential for a Smutty second chapter but I don't yet know. We will see how this one is received.
Secondly, I actually had a blast writing this one so even hate can't bring me down here.
WandaNat goodness. I will forever hate what Marvel did to Nat and i fully believe that if Nat survived she would for sure have checked on Wanda and made sure she was ok. Convince me otherwise!
If anyone asked the guys they'd have no idea who started it. In fact they were exposed to it so seamlessly that they didn't even really notice it was happening right away. They'd all been sitting in a conference room waiting on Hill to arrive. Natasha was swinging back and forth on her chair looking entirely bored when she just happened to make eye contact with Wanda.
"Do you ever get tired of running through my thoughts all day?" Wanda asked in that accent of hers and her lips curved into a grin that was all cheek.
Natasha stopped swinging on the chair for a moment and then let out a light laugh in response. Thor looked confused because he was pretty sure that Wanda was the mind reader not Nat. Yet before anyone could comment on it Hill walked in and was right to business.
"Nat?" Steve was trying to get Natasha's attention the next time it happened.
There was no Thor this time. Rhodey, Tony, Steve and Wanda were sitting in the shared living space of the compound they tended to call home these days. Wanda seemed almost entirely zoned out until she heard Steve speak Nat's name rather loudly. She turned to see Natasha standing off to the side a little looking at her, she had a somewhat playful smirk on her face.
"There must be something wrong with my eyes, I can't take them off of you." Natasha informed Wanda who couldn't help a delighted little laugh.
"What?" Steve was frowning looking at Natasha. Wanda chose that moment to go and get herself a drink without making a comment as Steve finally got Nat's attention.
"What?" Natasha frowned at him.
"What is going on?" Rhodey mumbled under his breath.
The third time Natasha was talking to Thor and Tony, or more listening to them once again talking garbage. Or not exactly garbage. But about Jane and Pepper… again. It was like a pissing contest that was only slightly better because they were constantly talking up their respective love interests instead of themselves.
Then a sound from the kitchen, feminine and fully annoyed. Wanda walked through a moment later and scowled right at Natasha.
"What's wrong?" Natasha was concerned.
"I went into the kitchen for a snack… and you weren't there." Tony actually choked on his drink when Wanda delivered her line and Natasha's look of concern became pure amusement.
Wanda winked lightly at Natasha before turning and heading back into the kitchen. Tony looked at Natasha, in fact they both did, Thor and Tony, and lifted a curious eyebrow. Natasha just shrugged amused.
They were all in the conference room a few days later, all of them. Sam and Steve were talking as they again waited on Hill for a briefing. Tony was talking to Vision about who knows what but they were deeply in the conversation. Clint was sitting beside Natasha looking bored and Natasha was looking at Wanda who was listening to Thor.
"Wanda?" Natasha spoke up suddenly and the witch turned towards her.
"Yes?" Wanda looked curious.
"Are you a magician? Cause every time I look at you everyone else disappears." Natasha looked completely serious.
"No… she's a witch." Thor looked genuinely confused and Wanda and Clint both laughed at Nat's comment.
"What is going on?" Rhodey asked a little louder this time.
"I am unsure." Vision answered him as Hill walked into the room.
"Time for quiet." Maria ordered and walked around handing out files. Natasha winked at Wanda who grinned.
Natasha was talking to Maria about the training room and wanting some different upgrades put in it. Maria was listening but probably only half listening. It was storming outside and the sky was dark though randomly flashes of lightning would light the place up before rolling thunder could be heard.
Wanda walked into the room, the sitting room. Maria and Natasha were standing leaning against the back of the sofa. When she saw the shorter assassin she walked right over to her and and reached out lifting a hand to Nat's chin who just gave her a slightly confused look as her face was tilted up and she was basically forced to look at Wanda.
"No wonder the sky's so dark, all the colours in your eyes." It was delivered perfectly and while Nat was sure this was some game they were playing she couldn't help the flush that filled her cheeks.
"Wanda." Natasha huffed out a laugh and the witch gave a little grin before letting Nat go and walking toward the Kitchen.
"You know that's really going to do Thor an injury." Maria commented looking from the kitchen door to Nat who was still flushed.
"Me too." Natasha chuckled and shook her head.
"I didn't know what I wanted in a woman until I saw you." Came over the comms.
Wanda couldn't stop herself from looking up then. She knew she wasn't meant to but she turned her head slightly and locked eyes with Natasha three tables over. Of course the assassin was watching her and not their surrounds. She was glad it was only a training exercise and not a real situation.
"Guys, come on." Steve spoke up before Wanda could respond. She knew Nat could see the flush of her cheeks though because the Widow grinned suddenly.
"Honestly, you two need to stop messing around." Rhodey piped up.
"Seriously. This is meant to be training." Sam came into the conversation as well.
"Messing around? They're together. Aren't they?" Thor sounded confused.
"No they are not. They're just playing and we are meant to be training." Steve sounded serious, cause he never sounded anything else.
"They're not?" Thor was definitely confused.
"No! Now back on task." Steve huffed and Natasha winked lightly at Wanda.
Things escalated a few days later. Most of the team was in the living room, Natasha had been sparring with Steve in the training room. The pair had just walked in and were finding seats when Wanda looked over at Natasha before the widow could sit.
"Kiss me if I'm wrong, but Dinosaurs still exist right?" Wanda made it seem like she was asking a genuine question as she looked right at Natasha who looked at her amused.
Yet Nat could see the genuine challenge in Wanda's expression and couldn't help but answer it with a smirk. Natasha sauntered, because there was no other way to explain the way she sashayed over, hips a little extra sway. Wanda looked up as Natasha stopped in front of her and leaned down kissing her on the cheek much to everyone else's surprise.
"You're cute." Natasha grinned before she moved to sit down beside Rhodey. Wanda was grinning and had a little blush on her cheeks.
"In all fairness, Steve does exist so…" Tony made the comment after a moment only for everyone but Steve to laugh.
"Ha. Ha." Was Steve's dry reply.
The very next night had Sam, Steve, Vision, Tony and Rhodey watching a movie. Natasha was also present, she was in an overstuffed armchair waiting for the boys to put a movie on. She wasn't sure what bought her out but before the movie could actually start Wanda walked in.
"Hey Wanda, you want to watch with us?" Sam asks seeing the witch.
"What are you watching?" Wanda asks curiously.
"We've decided on Cabin in the Woods." Steve didn't look impressed but Tony did.
Wanda looked around for where to sit and Nat shifted slightly in her own seat.
"You know what you'd look good in?" Natasha spoke up suddenly and all the guys looked at her as Wanda gave her a curious look.
"What?" Wanda tilted her head.
"My arms." Natasha grinned and lifted her arms in invitation.
At this point the fellas all thought it was hilarious except for Steve who thought it was annoying if only because they seemed to chose the most inopportune times to flirt. Wanda though didn't even hesitate to go over and climb into Nat's lap and get comfortable. Natasha wrapped an arm around Wanda's back and the other settled lightly on the witches knee.
"Perfect." Nat grinned and Sam hit play on the TV.
The last time it happened was a week after the movie night. Wanda had managed to fall asleep watching a horror movie and Nat really hadn't minded one little bit. It had been enough to have her wondering though. We're they just messing around having fun. Or was there more too it? Did she want there to be more?
She herself hadn't exactly considered women as far as romantic potential was concerned but she definitely wasn't against the idea it just happened to be men that caught her eye most. Of course if she thought about that too much she might consider that that was because men were just easier. It was easier to see their intentions.
Wanda though, Wanda had her wondering from that very first corny pick up line weeks earlier. Was it because they were the only women after Maria who was super work oriented or was the witch actually interested? She had no idea, at least not until the week before when Wanda was actually comfortable enough to snuggle into her and fall asleep even with all the guys there.
So when Tony said he was throwing a party, just for the sake of it. Natasha put a little extra effort into her appearance after making sure that Wanda would be there as well. She'd arrived a little early and went to the bar with Clint to get herself a drink. Which turned into three by the time Wanda showed up.
Natasha didn't immediately notice her as she was laughing at something Clint was saying. Wanda noticed her though. She was dressed in a black dress not entirely unlike the one she'd been in the first time Nat had met her but this dress was form fitting and she also had on some necklaces, wrist bands and her hair was curled a little.
Nat was eye-catching though. She had on a red dress that was sinfully short and accentuated her curves beautifully. Wanda took a deep breath, took the drink off of the person closest to her, which happened to be scotch from Tony. She swallowed the drink down and thrust the glass back into Tony's hand before making her way over to Natasha.
"I'm not a photographer… but I can really picture us together." Wanda blurted out as soon as she got there and Natasha turned towards her with a wide smile.
"Can we take a selfie? I wanna show Laura my new girlfriend." Natasha fired back, grabbing her phone. She wasn't joking.
"If I was to ask you out on a date, would the answer be the same as the one to this question?" Wanda didn't know where this was coming from at this point.
"You know what… let's skip all that." Natasha actually grabbed Wanda's hand.
"Where you going?" Clint asked as the pair moved towards the exit.
"My room." Natasha called over her shoulder dragging a more than willing Wanda with her.
"Get it, Romanov!" Clint whooped behind them with a loud laugh.
"Wait, where are they going? Wanda only just got here." Steve was frowning as he walked up beside Clint.
"Oh yeah, you're not going to see them again until tomorrow." Clint clapped him on the shoulder.
Steve took a moment to understand what was actually happening and then groaned.
"No… they're going to be worse now." He sighed defeated. Clint just laughed.
