After the hero groups met up with Tengen, they all together hurried to back up Tanjiro, David, and Mark. But while on the way there, the Energy Sensors picked up the intimidating new aura of Nezuko.
"What the… guys, do you feel that?" Hope asked.
"Such bloodlust, perhaps even deadlier than the Orochi Blood Riot." Elisabeth said.
"That's not from the demon we're after… that's Nezuko!" Hope said.
"What?!" Vegeta asked. "How could her power rise so quickly?"
"It's the demon blood that Muzan injected in her. It is causing her to go berserk!" Sectonia said.
"Something must've happened to Tanjiro." Ace said. "We need to hurry."
"Ace is right, if we don't get there soon, Nezuko might lose all of her humanity!" Ichiro said.
"I wouldn't be too worried. David and Mark are with Tanjiro and Nezuko too, so if anything happens, I think they'll stop her." Bow said.
"But they're still in the crosshairs of an Upper Moon, which is why we have to get to them before the situation turns worse." Ichiro said.
"Besides, if she's going berserk, she might not be able to tell friend from foe." Gouto said.
"Gouto has a point. It might be best we keep our distance from Nezuko until the others managed to calm her down, if they can." Shun'ei said. "...I just realized I'm taking advice from a talking cat."
"Weren't Cheetah, Esmeralda and her KOF Team cat-like in some way?" UlforceVeedramon asked.
"That was a different case. Cheetah and Esmeralda are Beastmen. They pretty much were capable of human speech from the get-go." Leopardmon said.
"Heh, this isn't even my real form, I chose to take it to watch over Kagane and his predecessors." Gouto said before jumping onto Ace's shoulders.
"In any case, just keep moving, everyone." Hope said. "Hang on guys, we're on our way!"
Meanwhile…
Nezuko had the demoness cornered, and no matter how many times her limbs were cut off they were regenerated just as quickly as she repeatedly stomped onto the demoness' back with a sadistic smirk.
"How the hell is she healing so quickly?! Her regenerations exceed even my own!" The demoness said as she was continuing to take a beating. After a while, she had enough and whipped her obi, amputating Nezuko's head and leg before jumping back. "I'll chop you up into pieces and stuff you into my belt!"
She lashed at Nezuko with more obis, dicing her up into multiple parts. But then she surprised the Upper Moon even further when her three lopped-off limbs maintained a connection to her body as her scattered blood ignited into pink flames, causing the demoness to scream in agony as Nezuko's limbs reattached to her as she stared in delight at the demoness' pain. Nezuko then jumped into the air and slammed her leg onto the demoness' back, forcing her to the ground repeatedly before kicking her through several buildings. She followed the trail of destruction to the interior of one of the buildings, but then she stopped cold when her eyes fell to a pair of civilians shivering in fear, and one of them was bleeding.
"Oh god… Nezuko, don't even think about it." David said.
But Nezuko couldn't resist, her teeth were chattering and her eyes were locked right on the cowering bystanders. She lunged right at the one bleeding drooling at the mouth, her target screaming….
"Nezuko, stop!" David said as he grabbed onto Nezuko in an attempt to restrain her.
Nezuko thrashed around, bringing them both to the ground as she tried her best to escape.
"I don't want to hurt you, Nezuko… Don't make me!" David said.
Mark ran into the building, seeing Nezuko trying to shake David off. "Hold on David, I'll-"
His sentence was interrupted when the demon's obi smashed through the wall, revealing said demon, half of her face still burned.
"You've got some nerve, doing that to me." the demon said in a cold, hateful tone towards Nezuko. "I've never heard of a Blood Demon Art that can hurt demons. Whatever you did to me is taking forever to heal. You're starting to irritate me! I'm through playing around!"
"Gosh dammit, what's it take to kill you?!" Mark exclaimed as he put himself between the enemy demon and the struggling David & Nezuko. "Just keep your grip, David! I'll handle this!"
The demon lashed out with her obis, but before any of them could connect, Tengen burst onto the scene and slashed the oncoming belts to pieces.
"Hey." Tengen said, looking at Nezuko. "So this is Nezuko Kamado? Quite the flashy way to demonize."
"Yeah, she's something, ain't she?" David asked, still holding on to Nezuko.
At this, Tengen got a little irritated. "All that fancy talk in front of the master, and you let her wreak havoc like this?! No one said she could demonize so flashily!"
"(Is this dude high or something?!)" David asked in his thoughts.
"Thanks for coming, you're a Hashira right?" the demon asked. "I've been here waiting for you."
"Shut up, I'm not here to waste my time with you, get lost." Tengen said. "After all, you're no Upper Rank Demon. Not when you're that weak. Sorry to say fellas, but she's not the one I've been searching for."
"Come again? How dare you speak of me like-" was all the demon could say before she found her head in her arms as she collapsed to her knees. "Huh?"
"Hey, Ice-boy." Tengen said to David. "The battle here's far from over. Get Kamado's sister under control."
"What do you think I'm trying to do?" David talked back.
"Can't you just sing her a lullaby or something?" Uzui asked.
"Wait… Tanjiro told me about one of them. Alright. I'll give it a shot." David said as he pulled back. "Hush hush, baby rabbit, up there on the hill. Why are your ears so very long? Mother used to eat the leaves of a tall tree and that's why my ears are so long." he said while struggling to keep her calm. As soon as he sang though, Nezuko slowly started to calm down. She then began crying and shrunk down as she soon fell asleep. "Whew… Too close."
"Thank…you." Tanjiro said arriving but was still very weak. "I'll hurry and get her back to her box." he said as he was in tears before looking up. "You hear that mother? It worked." he said before carrying off Nezuko.
David, Uzui and Mark just watched him.
"Where do you all think you're going? Don't ignore me!" the demon said as she held her head. "You have the gall to behead me and leave me like this?"
"She's still alive after a decapitation?" David asked.
"Yeah…well this is our first Upper Rank. Maybe it takes longer?" Mark suggested.
"Wait… What's this presence I'm sensing…? Everyone, be on your guard! She's not the only one we have to deal with!" David said.
"He cut my head off! He cut my head off! Help me…brother!" she cried out as something began to form from her back.
Before the three demon slayers emerged a new demon. As Uzui moved to decapitate it, he found himself missing as the demon had already gone to the other side of the room, reformed, and putting the demon girl's head back on her body.
"Oh…Daki. There you go again. You always were so slow. Come on. No use crying about it, you know?" he said.
"There he is. There's that other presence I was sensing. Now I know why her presence was so strong…" David said. "There are two demons that share their rank!"
Uzui moved to strike but the demon drew two sickles and caused a cut.
"Not bad. I was going for the kill. But you stopped me. Good for you. You all think you're so lucky, don't you? Those faces of yours. Nice. I like your skin too. Not a blemish, birthmark or scar anywhere huh? And you're tall and strong as well. I guess you three get plenty of attention from the ladies. Oh I envy you." the demon said as he dug into his own skin. "Oh I envy you. Would you three mind dropping dead and in the most agonizing way at that? By maybe getting skinned alive or having your bellies slit open."
"Yeah, I already have someone planning to do that to me, and I really hate to disappoint her, so… I'm afraid I'm gonna have to take a pass on that." David said.
"Yeah…I really don't care if anyone else wants to kill you. Thing is, you all have been harassing my sweet little sister, even if she isn't that smart. I'll have to massacre everyone who laid a finger on her. I'm a firm believer in vengeance. So I'll exact the same fate on you. I'll show no mercy. Because my name is Gyutaro!" he said, tossing his twin kama at them.
The rest of the group arrived just as the sickles burst outside.
"What the… are those Sickles?!" Glimmer asked. "I thought the demon we were hunting used an obi for a weapon."
"She did." Tenebris confirmed. "That can only mean that we have another demon to deal with."
"Those sickles…they're coated with poison." Kagane said. "What the heck is going on in there?"
Back inside, the three demon slayers held their own protecting the humans.
"Grr…you all must think you're some kind of heroes in their eyes. It pisses me off. You all are handsome, you have women fawning over you…" Gyutaro said.
"I should also mention I have 3 wives." Uzui said.
"Am I going deaf or did you just say you have 3 wives?" Gyutaro said as he dug into himself once again in anger.
"Yeah, you heard him." David said with a smirk. "Besides, I already have the perfect girl in my life. What more could I possibly want?"
"For the record, I don't have women fawning over me, but I don't think you'd care either way." Mark said.
"You three just piss me off even more!" Gyutaro said as his blood coated his kama. "Blood Demon Art: Flying Blood Sickles!" he said as cutting waves of blood were sent at the three.
"That blood is like blades. And so many…" Uzui said before tossing some bombs as they exploded, taking out the floors.
"An explosion? I see. They're on the 1st floor." Gyutaro said.
"Go! Quickly!" Uzui said as the humans they were guarding ran.
"Okay…so this is how it must work. We need to cut off the sister and the brother's head to finish them. Sound about right?" Mark asked.
"Yeah. We need to defeat them both." David said.
"Now let's get to…" Uzui said before some belts knocked them back.
"The thing about us is…" Gyutaro said as Daki was holding onto his back. "We like to fight together. And 2 is better than 1, you know?"
"Hm. In a lot of cases, yes." David said, honestly.
"But 3 is better than two." Mark said, leveling his blade at the demon siblings. "Let's wrap this up and make it flashy, shall we?"
"Couldn't have said it better ourselves." Sectonia said.
