Ch 10
A few days after stopping the attack on the SHIELD convoy, Phin, Pete, and I were on a rooftop in the city.
"You kept all these people safe." Phin said with a smile. "You did good, Miles."
"We did good." I added. "We all did it together."
"Yeah, we did." Peter agreed. "And I think that's enough for me to leave the city in your hands for a while."
"You're saying…you're retiring?" Phin asked.
"No, not yet. I'm just taking a break, that's all." Peter replied.
We both sighed in relief. We were good, yes, but not that good on the level that we could stop the wars without Peter. He is the original Spider-Man after all.
"Anyway, before any talk of a vacation, we gotta go." Peter said as the sirens went off.
"Can't keep those robbers waiting."
Then we all went off the rooftop, us two Spider-Men swinging through the cityscape with Phin right next to us using her jet boots, ready to continue our never ending fight against crime.
NYC would be quite safe in our hands.
Epilogue
A glowing blue portal opened on planet Vormir and Fisk was teleported into it before the portal closed. He looked at his sparking non-functioning gauntlets, contemplating his failure. Then he looked out at the sunsetting.
"My new home." Fisk said.
He had become the guardian of the Soul Stone.
