Chapter 4: Listing out the Suspects

At the Playground of Shroomerton School, the children were having fun. Near the benches of the basketball court, the Super Detective Siblings are sitting there to talk.

"Okay, Siblings. All we need to do is to list the suspects. Garth and Brandon, you got anything?" said Prika.

Grath then takes out folders, places them in the middle of his friends, and Brandon says, "Since we've been here at the school in Pre-K, we manage to gather as much info about the people working at the cafeteria. Five people work there. Three out of them are working full-time, one is doing part-time, and one is doing volunteer work."

Grath opened one of the folders and said, "Our 1st suspect is an elderly female Fluff named Mrs. Fanderson, the big boss of the cafeteria. She used to run a family bakery before retiring. She then came to work at our school and has been around the longest. She can be grouchy if she doesn't get her morning tea or the children aren't patient. She's a true wizard of baking anything in the cafeteria."

"Not trying stereotype, but Fluffs are known to be associated with the cold. I wouldn't be surprised if she is hoarding all of the ice creams," said Baby Luma.

"Hmm, probably so. Who's next on our list?" Prika asks.

Tallulah picked up another folder and said, "Next, we have the only male worker, a Fuzz named Mr. Cottener. He used to be a chef at a barbeque restaurant until he had a freak accident while defending the restaurant's meats from bandits who made him lose his left ear. He loves to tell his stories about his farm life to the children and can make a mean burger and a hot dog."

"If he were the culprit, why would he want to keep ice cream from us?" said Kennedy.

"Remember his story about how he got in an ice cream fight with a rival farmer and lost it?"

"Oh yeah. Maybe he got a grudge for the product."

Bruce then read the 3rd folder and said, "The 3rd one we have is Ms. Poppernickle, a penguin. She's the sweetest worker in the cafeteria with a big heart for all. She once worked at a café before switching jobs to work at our school. How can she be a suspect? Plus, she's lactose intolerance."

"Well, all workers in the cafeteria have access to every food storage," said Prika.

Then Lyla looked through the last folders and said, "And lastly, the mother and daughter pink Yoshi pair, Mrs. Torma and Angelica."

"Hey, isn't that the same pink Yoshi lunch lady who told us that we ran out of ice cream today?" Baby Luma.

"Yep. That was Mrs. Torma. She's divorced. She's known to do various odd jobs around the neighborhood like repair, serving food, and cleaning. Angelica is an 8th grader in our school and would help out her mother whenever she can."

"Even if one of them can be responsible for the missing ice cream, I wouldn't be surprised. They are going through a tough life."

"Okay, we got our suspects. Let's start looking for clues around the delivery area for the school and then the cafeteria," said Prika.

"Yeah," said the rest of the Super Detective Siblings.

Once the children ran off, the Toad Twins watched them behind a tree before they went off to follow them.

Meanwhile, with Mario and Peach on their lunch date at a local restaurant, Mario begins to twitch in worry as they two eat.

"Mario-baby, are you alright?" Peach asks in concern.

He then responds, "I'm fine, Peachie-pie. But I got the strangest feeling that Prika is about to do something risky."

"Looks like your father's senses are starting to take effect."

"Maybe so, or perhaps I'm overthinking it?"

"She's at school, Mario. Nothing bad could happen over there."

"I guess you're right. Besides, the Toad Twins are there to look after her."
