Chapter 5: Delivering Clues

The Super Detective Siblings are sneaking around the back of the school.

"From what I learn, we'll find the delivery trucks at the back," said Tallulah.

"Despite us having a list of suspects, we need to figure out if the delivery service isn't doing their jobs," said Prika.

The Super Detective Siblings then sees a couple of delivery trucks.

"We got our trucks, but which one holds the ice cream?" Brue asks.

"If we're looking for trucks of refrigerated and frozen goods, we look through the very 1st ones," said Garth.

The Siblings then came near three trucks dedicated to refrigerated and frozen goods. They find them opened and empty.

"Looks like the delivery crew already places the packed crates inside," Baby Luma commented.

But Kennedy sniffs the air, and she says, "Yuck! The third truck has the smell of meat. But I can smell fresh fruits and veggies in the 1st truck."

"So, our ice cream must be with the 2nd one," said Lyla.

When they get to the 2nd truck, they notice some strange crumbs.

Brandon said after he picked up one and smelled it, "I'm getting cream, sugar, milk, and cookie bits. These are part of the Cookies N Cream ice cream bar. This truck was hauling the ice cream to here along with other dairy-based food."

"If that's so, they delivered the ice cream today. But how come we didn't get any?" Lyla said.

"It's clear someone doesn't want to give us any of it. But who?" said Prika, crossing her arms and thinking.

"Are you sure you delivered them?!" a voice heard from afar.

The Super Detective Siblings are startled and quickly hide underneath the truck. A penguin delivery man is coming near the trucks, a red Toad in a suit, and Mrs. Fanderson, the Fluff in lunch lady attire. The three are walking by

"Absolutely, Principal Tarlmer. We even have the charts and signatures of it," said the delivery man, showing the charts.

"Then how come Mrs. Fanderson said that the crates were empty once we opened them?"

"I don't know."

"Grr. Just leave. I can't believe this the 5th week it happened."

When the delivery man left, Principal Tarlmer said, "Mrs. Fanderson, you better have a good explanation about this."

"I'm serious, sir. I'm telling you the truth. I'm at a loss of words about the ice cream going missing," she responds.

"If this happens again, I'm going to have no choice but to lower your position."

"What?! But I worked here for years."

"You run the cafeteria. I can't take any of the parents' complaints anymore and ask for more refunds from the diary company."

When the principal walks off, Mrs. Fanderson, sulking, walks the other way. Once no one was around, the Super Detective Siblings came hiding.

"Did you hear that? Even though the delivery people say they did their work, the ice cream isn't in their crates before they opened them," said Prika.

"How suspicious. We better solve this if we want to save Mrs. Fanderson's job. She even sounds unhappy about the news of her getting downgraded," said Baby Luma.

"Looks like Mrs. Fanderson is out of our list of suspects," said Tallulah.

"Yes. But how can someone steal ice cream even though they were sealed securely in their crates?" said Garth.

"Hey, look ever there," said Kennedy, spotting Mrs. Torma and Angelica placing empty crates outside.

"I can't believe it happened again, Mom. And I was looking forward to having a fudge bar for lunch too," said Angelica.

"Me too, sweetie. It at least we'll pick up some charity food after school is over," said Mrs. Torma.

"I think this place is haunted, Mom."

"Angelica Torma, we have students and staff as ghosts. How can you say that?"

Once the pair leave, the Super Detective Siblings goes over to the crates to inspect them.

"Oh, yes. These are the crates for the missing ice cream," Brandon said.

"Hey, guys. I think I found a clue," said Bruce, finding a strange hole on a crate.

"Nice work, Bruce. Every crate has a strange hole. But they're not big enough for a hand to stick through."

"Our culprit must've used these holes to take the ice cream. But how?" said Lyla.

"Time to check the kitchen, Detective Siblings," Prika said while leading the way.

Meanwhile, the Toad Twins watched the children on top of a delivery truck.

"Hmm, so far, so good. They manage not to get caught or get hurt," said Yellow Toad.

"I still think it's crazy for them to do something like this," said Blue Toad.

"Chill, older brother. They're doing the right thing even if it's not for their age. If things get too far, we'll interfere."

"Okay. Let's keep following them."
