Evan sat on his bed in thought.

"I think she's Circus Baby."

Where did he get that idea? Michael wouldn't tell him, nor did he specify what made him consider such a thing. Instead, he had been sent straight to bed. Michael had tucked him in and given him a smile- a tired, slightly forced smile- and left the room.

He'd stood up immediately and pressed his ear to the door, pushing down the distinct fear of hearing ragged breathing on the other side of it, reminding himself that Cassidy had turned them on William, that they wouldn't hurt him… he was fine…

There had been no sounds. He'd tiptoed back over to his bed and sat down on it, staring at the wall. He didn't really feel tired- he hadn't for years. The main downside to never sleeping was that he was bored.

…being awake by yourself is a very boring thing.

He pulled out his tablet and started tapping away at it, trying to find something interesting. Seeing nothing, he switched his tablet to security mode. It allowed him to keep an eye on William, but had the added effect of being able to show him what his brother was up to.

No, it wasn't due to a lack of trust.

…mostly.

Evan couldn't help but feel concerned for his brother. The whole deal with the purple eyes, never eating on his own, the mysterious circumstances that led to his death…

He focused on what his brother was doing, hoping that he'd find his brother hanging out in his bedroom, maybe trying to get some sleep.

Michael was in his special room, standing at the window. His mouth was moving. Evan frowned to himself and turned on the audio, sitting up straighter on his bed.

"...can't believe I told him."

Silence. Michael sighed and walked away from the window, beginning to pace.

"Well, it's not like I actually told him… I just told him that she's Baby…"

Evan frowned slightly more, glaring at the screen a little bit. So, he knew for certain that their sister was Circus Baby? And he didn't mention this sooner?

Michael stopped pacing and turned back to the window, pulling out his tablet.

"...Liz is in the vent, shut it," he said. After a moment of silence, Michael sighed and lowered the tabet. "Well… you tried."

Evan switched his tablet to dual screen, checking on William as well. He was sitting up and rubbing his head, Circus Baby standing over him with an unchanging, unhinged smile.

"Looks like something bad happened," she said. Evan frowned to himself. He'd never really paid attention to what everyone said and did to William. He assumed there was always going to be some kind of inside joke or silence afterwards. He knew that Charlie liked to make him think that everyone there was a cold-blooded killer.

His eyes drifted back to Michael's side of the screen. His brother was standing there, staring down at the tablet. He didn't move, making him look like a lifeless animatronic.

"...something bad always happens," he said softly. He took a deep breath and pressed something on his tablet, turning around and walking over to where his couch was. "I'll give you 3 Fazcoins tomorrow night… hopefully, you'll be able to keep her at bay."

Evan turned off his tablet, frowning to himself. Michael didn't… recognize what she'd said, did he? Had he run into Circus Baby before?

Technically, he has, Evan reminded himself. Charlie had told them all about the Scrap Animatronics, and how Michael had lured them all into a pizzeria that he and her father worked together to burn down. She'd explained in great detail that that was how her soul finally got set free, and that that was how Michael's soul was freed too.

But… did Scrap Baby ever mention anything to Michael about bad things happening? He shook his head. He was probably overthinking this. Most likely, Michael was just responding to Circus Baby's statement with a factual type of agreement.

He set his tablet to the side, lying back and staring up at the ceiling.

Yeah… he was overthinking everything.

Susie was definitely suffering from a sugar crash. And it was pretty obvious.

Everyone was gathered at the table in the kitchen, munching down on some of the leftover sweets they'd had the night before. Michael had grumbled about needing to cook them 'real food' since they 'couldn't live off of sugar'. Cassidy had reminded him that they weren't alive, and thus, it didn't matter whether they ate nothing but sugar or not.

Michael shot down her argument with, "Wait until Susie gets in here, then tell me if you still think eating nothing but sweets is a good idea."

…he'd been right.

Susie stumbled into the kitchen, practically still asleep. She shuffled across the room and bumped into the table, muttering, "Srry, Evvvvvv…"

She laid herself across one of the chairs, gave up on trying to sit on it, and relaxed her body.

Michael approached her with a bright and innocent smile, kneeling down so that they were eye level.

"Morning, Sue!" he chirped. Susie groaned, bringing her arms up to cover her head. Michael just took her hands and brought them back to her sides again. "How'd you sleep last night?"

"...trrred."

"What was that?" Michael asked. Fritz cleared his throat, clearly trying not to laugh. "I couldn't quite understand you."

Susie sighed heavily and forced her head upwards. Evan could see how tired she was- her eyes were half closed and unfocused. She stuck out her bottom lip in a pout.

"...couln sleep," she admitted. Michael tilted his head to the side, his smile softening.

"I figured," he said. "Too much sugar."

Susie's head started falling forward. Before it could slam onto the seat, Michael put his hand under her head and lowered it gently. She was breathing deeply in a matter of moments.

Michael sighed and stood up, moving around so that he could pick her up. Her head lolled onto his chest, and she shifted slightly in her sleep so she was pressed against him more. Michael looked around at the other kids, a small smirk on his face.

"...and this, my friends, is why I'm teaching Sue how to cook," he said. "We need to cut down on the amount of sugar you guys consume."

He walked out, most likely bringing Susie back to her bedroom. Everyone looked at each other for a moment before bursting into laughter.

Evan knocked on the door to Michael's observation room, waiting patiently for him to answer.

"Come in!"

He opened the door and looked around. Michael was draped across the couch, head turned so that he could watch Immortal and the Restless. Evan smirked at him.

"Didn't we finish this show a month ago?" he asked. Michael shrugged, pausing the screen and turning to Evan.

"I wanted to rewatch season 8," he said. Evan nodded. Michael smiled at him, gesturing for him to come over. "So, what'd you wanna talk about?"

Evan bit his lip slightly, debating whether to mention last night or not. He decided it would be best not to.

"Isn't Circus Baby down here with us?" he asked. Michael shifted around so that he was properly sitting on the couch, still looking at Evan.

"Yeah, she is," he said. "Why?"

Evan walked over to Michael's red chair and sat down in it.

"Where do you think she goes when she's not killing William?" he asked. Michael pressed his lips together, looking down in slight thought.

"...not sure, actually," he said. He looked back up at Evan. "We could try asking Cass- she might know."

Evan nodded again, taking a deep breath.

"Wherever she hangs out, we might be able to get to her," he said. "And, if we do, we can see if Elizabeth is in her."

Michael frowned and bit his lip.

"...Evan, there's something- "

Their tablets started beeping. Michael pulled his out faster, flicking through the cameras before Evan even had a chance to reach for his tablet. He wondered vaguely how Michael managed to do it so fast.

Oh, wait… former night guard.

Those night guards managed to grab those tablets and flip through cameras incredibly fast. It made sense. If you weren't fast with the cameras, you were basically dead.

Michael groaned, leaning his head back slightly. Evan leaned closer, trying to catch a glimpse at his tablet.

"What is it?" he asked. "What's wrong?"

"This idiot is trying to escape again," Michael said. He turned on security mode and activated the audio, holding up his tablet so that Evan could hear.

Coming from the device was William's voice, desperately shouting for either Michael or Henry to help him. Michael sighed and tapped on something. The two waited there for a moment, then DD's voice rang out.

"Uh-oh, how unfortunate!

"Uh-oh, how unfortunate!

"I'm gonna do a sneaky thing,

"And throw a new contender in the ring!"

Michael tapped on something else. The tablet changed to show a list of every animatronic that was down there. Whether they were all possessed or not remained to be seen, and where they were all being stored…

Well, they didn't know that, either.

Michael smiled at the screen.

"Hey, look who took up DD's challenge today," he said. Evan grinned when he saw whose picture was highlighted.

Just their luck.

"I'll sneak down there and follow her," Evan said. "Hopefully, Circus Baby can show me where she's been hiding."
