"Mom! Phineas hasn't done his homework assignment yet!"
"Candace, that's none of your concern." Mrs. Flynn-Fletcher said, carrying out the laundry basket, "Phineas got an A on his last assignment, so I don't see how there's anything to worry about. Now that C of yours, I would be more focused on fixing that."
"Are you going to do your assignment tonight?" Ferb asked Phineas, choosing his one sentence for this story wisely.
"You mean the one thousand word essay on the meaning of life in the Universe that's due tomorrow morning?"
Ferb nodded.
"Nah, I figured I could save it for tomorrow before class. Come on Ferb, let's build something."
The next morning as Phineas and Ferb were about to head out to the bus, Candace stopped them.
"Phineas! Have you done your homework yet?"
"I was going to just as soon as we get to school."
"Mom! Phineas still hasn't done his assignment yet!"
"Candace, quit yelling or you're going to miss the bus."
Candace gave Phineas the eye as they stepped outside. "When mom finds out your grade, you are going to be so busted!"
Phineas just shrugged this off, what was up with Candace today?
When Phineas got into the classroom and sat down at the desk, Buford leaned over to him, "Hey Phineas, did you finish that assignment last night?"
Phineas looked at the clock, one minute til class. "I was just about to start it."
So Phineas took out a pen and paper, and started writing. He took his time not stressing himself too much as the seconds ticked down.
When the minute ended, the teacher entered and all the students handed their papers in. Buford had managed five whole words for his 1000 word essay: "LiFe in tHe UniVUrs ROXS".
When Phineas came home that afternoon, Candace was waiting at the door. She snatched the paper that Phineas was carrying out of his hands.
"Is this your assignment."
"The one due in class today? Yes, yes it is."
"Hehehe! You are so busted!"
Candace ran to her Mom.
"Mom, Phineas' grade just came in!"
Candace handed the paper over to Mrs. Flynn-Fletcher, who looked at it a moment.
"A+. Good job Phineas."
"Thanks mom," said Phineas as he made his way out to the garage with Ferb. "Hey, there's Perry?" He said as Agent P wandered in from his mission with Doof and the Murphys, making sure the future Professor Time didn't have anymore mishaps on achieving his destiny.
"They really are good students," Mrs. Flynn-Fletcher said, handing Candace the paper back as she walked away, "you should take some pointers from them."
Candace looked at the paper. "A+. Well researched and very insightful, but you only needed the minimum 1000 words. Took me all day to read."
Candace just stood there stunned, "Bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-"
