It was clear that the gunshot everyone heard hadn't come from the guest room, which George was found in, so everyone ran back out to the hallway and faced the door next to that of the guest room. This next door was the door to Jessica's bedroom.

Battler knocked on the door again.

"Jessica if you're in there please say yes!"

Nanjo wordlessly pushed Battler away again and knocked him onto the floor and he said "ouch." Then Nanjo tried to open the door but it was locked.

"Alright guys let's do this together," said Rudolf and all of the gentlemen except weak Battler hit the door with their shoulders and it broke down!

Inside, Jessica was lying on the floor with a gunshot wound in her face! On the carpet next to her was a key. Battler took the key and tried it on the door and it worked so this was the key to Jessica's bedroom that they found in Jessica's bedroom next to the corpse of the owner of Jessica's bedroom, Jessica.

Battler did not cry. He was fed up with crying. He did it all the time and now he was out of tears to cry. Now it was the time for thinking. How did Ryuji Gohda pull this murder off?

He looked around the bedroom but didn't find any clues. No murder weapon, and no Ryuji Gohda. He did find another door though, and a sign said it was the bathroom door.

"Maybe Ryuji Gohda's hiding in here," said Battler.

"No, stupid," said Rudolf. "Why would he hide in there? He'd be trapped because there aren't any windows in there! That'd be like hiding under the bed!"

"Good point..." said Battler.

But aside from the bathroom, there was no other way out of the room. Except for...

"I KNOW!" said Battler. "He just jumped out the window!" He looked across the room and saw the window was indeed open! So he poked his head out and looked down and that's when he realized that below the window was a really steep cliff with jagged rocks at the bottom.

"He couldn't have just jumped down there!" said Rudolf. "We'd see him!"

"Then there's only one explanation for this," said Eva and she took out the knife that George had been stabbed by and pointed it at Battler!

"YOU did it!"

"WHAT!" shouted everyone.

"No I didn't fuck off, the culprit is Ryuji Gohda!" said Battler.

"THEN YOU MUST BE RYUJI GOHDA!" screamed Eva.

"Eva calm down, my son isn't nearly handsome enough to disguise as Ryuji Gohda," said Rudolf.

"Then explain it, you brat!" shouted Eva. "You were outside in the hallway the whole time! In order to kill both George and Jessica, Ryuji Gohda would have had to have gone into George's room, then leave and go into Jessica's room, then leave again! So how didn't you see either of those!"

Battler betrayed his resolve and cried. He hated that he was accused of being Ryuji Gohda, who is evil. He had to prove he was neither Ryuji Gohda nor an accomplice at once. He had to rethink these murders from the start.

George was killed at 11:05 AM, while Battler was in the hallway. Then just a minute later, Ryuji Gohda had made it to Jessica's room next door and killed her, without Battler seeing him.

The window in Jessica's room is open, but going out there would mean falling down a steep cliff.

The window in George's room is open too, but that window's above the same cliff.

Or does it...

No it doesn't, Battler realized!

"So what're you doing, throw that brat in JAIL!" cried Eva.

"I'm not going anywhere Aunt Eva I've got your answer," said Battler. "Ryuji Gohda escaped from the crime scene... BY USING THE WINDOWS!"

"We already know he didn't stop lying," said Eva but Battler did not stop lying.

"First Ryuji Gohda went into George's room before I showed up and killed him with the knife! He did that quietly, so I had no idea he was in there. Then he had to get into Jessica's room without me noticing, which was also possible! What he needed to do was climb out the window of George's room, scale the wall outside, and enter Jessica's room through her window, which was also open!"

"What, that's stupid!" said Eva. "Why would he do that when he could've just used the door!"

"Because Battler was out there and would've seen him," said Rudolf.

"HE COULD'VE JUST KILLED BATTLER TOO, THAT'S A WHOLE PART OF HIS PLAN!" shouted Eva.

"No, he probably didn't even know I was outside," said Battler. "But he had to enter through the window because the door was already locked!" Battler presented the key with a take that! (Just like his friend John Phoenix does).

"I see, I see," Nanjo nodded sagely. "But tell me young man, how might Ryuji Gohda have escaped after killing young Jessica?"

"Easy," said Battler. "All he had to do was go out the same way he came in! Once we knocked on the door, he climbed out the window, scaled the wall back to George's room and made his getaway while we were distracted."

"Quite fascinating..." Kinzo nodded along with his friend. "Young Battler, I'm proud to say you are absolutely, unquestionably..."

Just before Kinzo could finish, there was a clicking sound as the door to the bathroom unlocked! A loud creaking sound followed as it opened up, and Ryuji Gohda walked out, wearing nothing but a towel around his waist.

"Ah, that was a lovely bath!"
