So I hope you all enjoy what you are about to read. Once again this story has many elements from different fandoms the reason that I used mass effect and halo as the main one is the council and the covenant will have major roles in the future. I have a solid plan for what other alien races will join the commonwealth some you will be able to guess as the story goes on others I hope will be a complete surprise, I mean some of them were a joke when I was thinking of who could join but it just right with them. Also, I am open to any suggestions.
In regard to the way chapters are written I rather like this way until I reach the meeting between the council and the commonwealth.
Now to those that don't like the fact about Exodus well I thought that it would be fun to see what would humanity be like if it was guided by a super-advanced machine that would not care for how people would react and only care about the growth of humanity.
Now about the writing, formating and grammar, I am trying my best I have to add so sometimes I go too fast for myself and miss things even after I have reviewed the chapter so if give me a bit of time to get the hang of self-editing.
1961
With Canada becoming a trade magnet the prime minister decides to use the country's newfound wealth to invest in multiple up-and-coming companies and different research labs in Canada hoping that it will help further the country and its superiority over others.
Exodus continues to develop C.A.N.A.D.A. into something more by reaching out to underappreciated scientists in other countries recruiting them to join the organization, succeeding in most cases. Along with starting the training for covert operatives under the name ONI aka the office of national intelligence.
Seeing his success Prime minister Tellmen chose to run for office again and wins promising another term of success and improvements.
1962
The vast majority of the railroad systems are finished, with the citizens starting calling the light rail system for how fast and efficient they are. The new Arc stations are reaching completion giving Canada a near-endless supply of clean energy.
It was the rest of the world that started to have minor problems most see them for what they were minor conflicts, but some saw them as a build-up for future problems and excuses for future escalations.
The few trained ONI agents were tasked to bring in as much information about these events as well as using these tasks of gathering information as training in the field, as they would be low risk and in the event of exposure would not lead to exposing the agents to too high a level of danger.
1963
With the world settling down and the vast majority of the rebuilding and fixing of the damage from world war 2 being finished most European countries decided to form a joint organization to help with any future conflicts. After going over rules and regulations this organization calls itself the European Union. With eleven countries joining on its inception.
With its massive amounts of resources and the ambition of its people, the Canadian government sees fit to start looking to the stars as a way to motivate its people. Starting the Canadian space program.
C.A.N.A.D.A. continues its poaching of undervalued scientists, the most prominent of those recruited a middle-aged man William Markov. Well under the Soviet union Markov was forced to design better artillery but his real passion was in robotics so when he saw the opportunity to jump ship and work on his passion he was quick to accept the offer well also stealing all the data on the Soviet Union as he left as the last screw you to the government that forced him to work. Even with the little time that he had been working with C.A.N.A.D.A., after his defection, he had already started to show results with an automated assembly line that was showing an overall increase in the production of most manufactured goods along with vastly improving the speed in which military assets were being made for example it was able to reduce the two and a half weeks that it had previously taken to make a grizzly tank to four days and this was the trend across the board in terms of increased production speed. It was Markov's success that showed the true potential of the program.
Fully trained ONI agents now numbering in dozens start to make small networks of contacts in countries that show evidence of having the possibility to pose a threat to Canada and its people or its interest.
1964
It was a week after the new year when an ONI agent sent a report concerning the soviet union and talked of them funding a space program. When the Prime Minister and his cabinet received this report it took a little under three weeks for them to come to the consensus that they would need to stop the union before they had dominance over space, it was quickly agreed to increase the funding for the CSP. With the decision made the Prime Minister chose to place the majority of the CSP to take place outside of Winnipeg. Given the closeness to the Thunder bay Base which was the main base for all Gears when in training, it also had the added benefit of housing all of the scientists that were poached by C.A.N.A.D.A. as they would be able to lend support to the mission.
ONI agents continue to expand contact making them into networks slowly mending each agent of ONI contacts milking them for all the information they are worth.
This year also so the completion of the light rail system across all of Canada, with the last of the arc reactors being finished just before the end of the year.
1965
With the addition of the data on the F-69 Volt and its engine system, the headway on the space project increases exponentially. Allowing them to quickly develop and launch a research rocket loaded with as many enactments to gather data about space as possible. ONI agents see the space program as an opportunity to increase the scope of what they were able to observe using scientists from C.A.N.A.D.A to start designing plans for orbital observation satellites that can be directly launched and be operational with a responsible rocket.
With the continued growth of the Canadian economy Prime minister Tellmen looks for even more ways to improve the country by looking to be even more self-sufficient.
Exodus starts to look for ways to make compact versions of the arc reactor to make all of Canada run on green energy to help with keeping the planet after reviewing data showing the harmful effects of using gases and fossil fuels have on the environment.
1966
The plans of the prime minister to Improve self-sufficiency is going well with some input from Exodus, yet not complete with prime minister Tellmen having to also get ready for his reelection campaign.
Tests of the first Canadian rockets that would be used to send people into space take place and well-reaching space do not have the desired result they were hoping for which results in the head of the CSP scraping over half of the designs.
Were as ONIs satellites are seeing great results with two having been sent to orbit. Show them many locations of military assets of other countries.
Racial tension is felt throughout the country as minorities are facing discrimination in some of the new provinces. When faced with this fact Tellmen decides to do nothing even with Exodus showing data of how this will negatively affect the country in the long term.
1967
Tellmen loses the election in a landslide to a young woman named Lily Gray who ran without a party and was thought to be a laughing stock of the election but somehow won with her holding the House majority after the votes were tallied.
Tellmen like his predecessor introduces the new Prime Minister Lily Gray to Exodus. After the brief introduction PM, Gray has a closed-door meeting with Exodus no one knowing what is talked about in the meeting but within the month of her election, a bill is passed that assures all rights for the people of Canada no matter the race sex gender sexual orientation or beliefs.
ONI continues expanding its satellites reaching two dozen. ONI receives troubling reports of the Soviet Union and China entering a military alliance with both countries massively increasing their military assets.
The CSP makes tremendous progress with its rockets successfully launching one into orbit but upon reentry, the landing system they designed fails taking them back to the drawing board.
Nearing the end of October a massive earthquake hits South America and the Caribbean and Mexico resulting in a large tsunami doing even more damage to most island nations and the eastern coast of South America. When news of the disaster reached Prime minister Gray she immediately started to send as much help as possible.
1968
With the damage from the disaster exceeding what was first reported Canada starts to increase the amount of aid sent to countries requesting it. The few countries keeping themselves above water and do not request help from the Canadians are seeing that should any other event cause stress on their economies they would fall into a bottomless pit they might not ever get out of. The countries that received help from Canada are grateful for them and begin to see Canada as a godsend.
ONI satellites pick up the movement of troops of both the Soviet Union and China gathering around the borders of India, Nepal, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Seeing the signs Exodus starts the staging of the Canadian naval forces to be able to respond to any requests for military aid. All gears were put into even harder training to make sure that they were at their top level.
CSP finally sees results with reusable rockets saving them future costs giving them more room to spend on research. The CSP starts to plan to send their first manned rocket to space to do a rotation of earth before coming back to earth.
1969
The CSP was successful in their first and manned flight, using the momentum plans to reach the moon immediately afterwards.
ONI reports several small conflicts along with the Chinese Nepal and the Chinese Indian border. The Soviet Union started to build three military bases along the Afghan border and one along the Pakistan border and the last one was the Afghan and Pakistan border setting up for a massive push when the Soviet Union is ready to strike.
The South American countries that received help from Canada after the disaster are seeing a rise in crime as said countries struggling with the rebuilding of their infrastructure. Well, the Caribbean was still struggling to get to their feet even with the aid from Canada.
C.A.N.A.D.A scientist Markov makes a breakthrough once again in robotics creating basic robotic replacements for limbs, well not autonomous they do improve the daily life of those who get them. With this new technology Markov starts to work on more refined versions to hopefully make it so that people who are missing limbs may live their lives like nothing ever happened.
1970
Mexico is seeing a steady decline in their economy and an increase in cartel activity which is starting to grow into a war as it furthers all the government's efforts to fix the problem.
Cuba, Jamaica, El Salvador and the Dominican republic all requested to join Canada as provinces like the five coalitions did during the dissolution of the United States. Seeing it as a welcome surprise Prime minister Grey and Exodus quickly starts to work out a plan to have them join the fold of the current system, and another plan for once they were settled in to bring them up to the standard of all of the other provinces. Other nations in the Caribbean saw this and started to think about the possibility of them joining Canada, well other nations around the world that didn't hold the same positive feelings for Canada saw this as Canada growing stronger posing an even larger threat.
ONI continues to report conflicts between China and Nepal and India but also starts to see conflicts between the Soviet Union and Afghanistan well building up another base along the Pakistan border. Seeing the aggressive actions of the Soviet Union, other countries in Europe started to build up military assets in case another world war breaks out which was starting to look more and more likely.
CSP starts the Artemis program which has the goal of landing men on the moon.
1971
Seven smaller countries in the Caribbean follow the example of others joining Canada after seeing what happened to the four that joined the year before and how they were improving rapidly and starting to become part of the first world nation.
Mexican cartels decided they are tired of the police trying to shut them down so they all start to work together and declare war against the government. The Mexican government moved its army to meet the cartel's men but were evenly matched turning the conflict into a stalemate.
The Chinese army takes the capital of Nepal, moving even more troops to the Nepal India border to push their offensive against India. Meanwhile, the Soviet Union makes a large push towards the capital of Afghanistan meeting heavy resistance as they move forward with their invasion.
India seeing the fall of Nepal has them sending requests for aid to the European Union and Canada. The European Union quickly sends their reply in the most noncommittal way possible and sends no aid to India, Afghanistan or Pakistan after they requested it as well. Canada on the other hand quickly sends two megalodon class ships and half of their north pacific fleet along with 30000 soldiers and 2000 Gears to join the Indian army. The arrival of the Canadian soldiers spurs a great push of enemy lines as they push back against the Chinese as Canada starts to prepare for full military mobilization. Plans quickly start for Canada to hit the Chinese capital fast and hard before sending more forces to the Soviet Union front.
The CSP after many years of work set the foundation for the project Artemis ready and the CSP to send The Artemis 1 rocket to the moon, sending their first men to the moon and back. While on the moon the astronauts collect as much data as possible for future projects.
Exodus finally finishes a compact version of the arc reactor along with a motor and battery system to replace conventional combustion engines, with these new electric motors only needing to charge after two weeks of continuous use.
With the success of the mission to the moon, the Canadian space program starts to make plans with the government and C.A.N.A.D.A for the possibility of a settlement on the moon. Prime Minister Gray also starts to make plans with Exodus in regards to further uplift the countries of the Caribbean that were joining Canada, well also planning for the possibility of the other Caribbean countries joining as well, which according to information that ONI had collected was a very high possibility.
1972
The Canadian soldiers along with the Indian military pushed the Chinese military out of Nepal and start to push into Tibet, which saw many of the Tibetan people volunteering to fight the Chinese to free their own country. Well, the remaining 8000 Gears and 30000 Canadian soldiers make quick work of the Chinese defences around their capital. With the Chinese capital taken the Gears and 40000 Canadian troops were quickly ordered to move and support the Afghanistan and Pakistan forces against the Soviet Union well the rest of the Canadian forces help the Indian troops to suppress any remaining Chinese forces.
With the Canadian intervention in the current war in Asia more European countries join the European Union for defensive purposes.
On a more domestic front, the remaining 10 countries of the Caribbean decided to join Canada as well with hopeful prospects for the future.
The Mexican cartel war was also starting to take an even further toll on the Mexican government with the cartels taking over a sixth of the country. ONI reports that the Mexican government was thinking of calling in the Canadians but was split into two different sides. One side wishes to join Canada like so many others have before and the other side wants to keep its independence.
Even with all the trouble that was happening, Prime Minister Gray is reelected with a near landslide compared to the other candidates.
1973
With the increase of territory of Canada with the addition of the Caribbean more resources are put into uplifting these new provinces to help the general economy of Canada. While this is happening it starts to make some of the South American countries somewhat unnerved that Canada continues to expand towards them.
After talks with the Canadian government, Mexico joins Canada as a client state, well still it's own country its laws, military and economy would fall under the Canadian preview. With that settled Canada sends 15000 troops to crush the cartel forces.
The occupation of China had a side effect with many of the smaller Asian countries entering talks with Canada about possible alliances.
The Soviet Union's forces start to decrease in number and quality after six months of them taking heavy casualties. Canadian, Pakistan and Afghanistan troops continue to push deep into the Soviet Union.
Exodus after seeing the increase of conflict worldwide Exodus starts the planning of a weapon to be used only in the worst of war to end them. Code Named HOD, it is kept under the tightest of security with only five members of C.A.N.A.D.A. along with six ONI agents to watch the C.A.N.A.D.A . scientists.
CSP starts to plan out a settlement on the moon to act as a test for further colonization of other worlds in the future.
1974
With the continued pushing of the combined forces, the Soviet Union started to lose ground at an increasingly fast rate.
The news that Mexico became a client state to Canada having reached the rest of the has a variety of reactions. The general consensus in South America is somewhat mixed with some countries wanting to follow Mexico well others seeing it as a threat to their ways of life. The countries in Asia that had been in talks about joining an alliance with Canada take a wait and see view saying they wish to wait before confirming anything solid. Most European countries that had not joined the EU started to go about the process of joining well those already in the EU started to become nervous due to the increase of power that Canada has. Most African countries are somewhat reluctant but do start to send people to talk to the Canadian government about what being a client state would involve. Well, the Middle East is somewhat uneasy with Canadian forces helping defend Afghanistan and Pakistan from an invasion does show them that they will at least help if they need it even without joining them.
The cartel's forces are quickly crushed under the power of the Canadian military.
CSP starts to send shipments of building supplies to the moon in preparation for the settlement they have plans for. ONI has enough satellites to see any part of the world at any time of day.
Exodus is half done with the plans for his strategic weapon with plans to have it operational in three years' time.
C.A.N.A.D.A scientist Markov finishes his work on robotic limb replacements. Calling the automail for convenience, these new autonomous robotics limbs do not require a source of external power as they work on the electric pulses of the nervous system. It is required to be awake when they are connected to the human body as of now and it causes immense pain. It is estimated that at the current level of automails it can take up to three years before a person is completely compatible with the automail after receiving them. It is also predicted that they will require checkups at least once every three months to make sure they are working at top conditions. After the news of automails is released many young men that had been serving in the armed forces sign up to test them, which is readily accepted.
1975
Three independent countries request to become client states of Canada. The first to ask was a surprise as having been enemies during world war 2, Japan answers this surprise by saying that they wish to repent and help the world better itself. This is accepted and Canada stations a good number of ships in Japanese harbours to restock instead of sending cargo ships to resupply ships in the yellow sea. The second and third countries join after many talks with the Canadian government and having been helped by them after the disaster years before, with the signing of the papers Colombia and Venezuela join as client states.
Work on HOD is well underway and is predicted to be completed even sooner than first believed.
ONI reports that as more land is lost that the leaders of the Soviet Union are fighting with one another leading to disorganization on the war front. This is seen by the soldiers of the soviet union and in response Canadian, Pakistani and afghani troops start to see zero resistance as they push to the capital.
CSP reported they have over half the supplies needed for the moon settlement shipped and hope to have the construction of the settlement started in the next two years.
1976
The Soviet Union dissolves after Moscow falls to the Gears and allied forces. Three of the members request to become client states of Canada after the dissolution. These countries are Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. All three are accepted and Canada posts soldiers are there to stabilize the region. Pakistan and Afghanistan after long talks at the end of the war also agree to become client states with the hope that Canada would help each country with their problems which Canada is happy to do.
With the war ended Canada pushes more resources into improving its new territories and client states. Plans for the expansion of the lightrail system are made and the building is started in Mexico, the Caribbean Colombia and Venezuela. Well, the client states in Asia are set on a course to focus and more basic infrastructure and rebuilding the damage from the war.
Gears return to Canada as regular troops stay in Asia to stabilize the region and help prepare the liberated countries' military. The Asian countries that were under the wait-and-see opinion started to be more active in forming bonds with Canada.
CSP sent the first team of builders to the moon to start the construction of the main buildings of the moon settlement.
HOD Is Almost complete and ready for its first deployment.
1977
With the rebuilding and basic foundations for the client states near half-finished, planning for building arc reactors and lightrail systems starts. The expansion of the already established lightrail is at 33 percent finished and the building of arc reactors is started in Mexico well Colombia and Venezuela arc reactors are being planned out.
The first HOD is deployed with another twelve in construction.
CSP reports the moon settlement is well underway and should be ready for two thousand to live on the moon full time. The CSP started research on ways to travel across space after estimating how long it will take to reach Mars after they finish work on the moon, after this research starts members if CSP considers how long it would take to reach the nearest star system with possible habitable worlds and start to design deep-space telescopes to search for possible habitable worlds.
ONI reports that the EU is starting to build a larger fleet of ships and some are being moved to the Middle East and Africa.
A dozen more countries start looking into the possibility of becoming client states to Canada. Make sure to watch all those that have already done so, to see if the Canadians go against the rights of the client states people.
1978
Prime Minister Gray wins the Election once again. Parliament begins the creation of a bill to allow the Prime minister to hold office for 20 years instead of five allowing the government more time to handle situations without having to worry about the election in times of crisis. They also decided to lower the running age to 25.
The regular troops posted in Asia are pulled out after the librated countries reach a sufficient amount of defences and the Canadian clients start are well armed and ready to defend themselves selfs without the immediate response of Canadian troops.
CSP finishes building the current plans of the moon settlement. The first group of 30 are sent. The majority of these 30 are scientists and engineers with a handful of Gears to act as security. After the first month, the scientist gets sick of the low gravity and starts to research ways to create artificial gravity.
Exodus deploys three more HODs hoping to have the rest of them complete before the end of the year.
ONI continues to report the EU is still increasing the number of ships under their control.
With the mounting rise of European Union ships patrolling around the Middle East and Africa many countries enter talk of becoming client states.
Four of the countries decided to become client states under Canada, all of them being part of South America. The first to join was Ecuador after receiving information from the Colombian government about how Canada was helping them. The second was Peru, the third was Bolivia and Chile after seeing more people join and the improvements that they were seeing.
1979
Parliament passes the bill to increase the time the Prime Minister serves. Prime Minister Gray was the first to serve 20 years in one term.
All HODs are deployed, all members of C.A.N.A.D.A that worked on the project seem to die within the year due to accidents well ONI agents assigned to the program die on missions only Exodus and Prime Minister Gray knowing what the HOD are and what they do until they are used in active war.
CSP start to expand the moon settlement to the scale where five thousand could live with minimal supplies from the earth along with further plans to make it self-sufficient. CSP scientists continue to study gravity and its properties and ways to use it.
The seven remaining countries of South America enter talks with Canada to become client states. Which sets more work into motion with the foundation of the lightrail system and arc reactors being planned and supplies readied.
after watching an anime from japan requested C.A.N.A.D.A to buy its intellectual properties. After giving his reasoning Exodus agrees and funds the purchases. After the purchase, Dr. Markov begins research on project BFG.
ONI reports troop movements in Europe with many members of the EU getting ready for war. ONI predicts one of two targets. With this information Exodus starts plans for the inevitable war that was coming, sharing these plans with the PM and her cabinet.
1980
The seven remaining South American countries join Canada as client states. Construction begins immediately to once again expand the lightrail system to reduce the travel time across both continents along with the arc reactors to provide enough clean energy for all citizens.
With the addition of the new client states, the European Union start to move all ships to one location in the mediterranean sea. ONI reports plans from the EU to invade the Middle East. After much debate, this information is given to all countries in the Middle East. After a few weeks of talks, all Middle Eastern countries become client states of Canada.
With the growth of its borders and continued work to improve the lives of all citizens under its flag Canada officially changes its name to the Canadian Commonwealth, this is received by all members of the new commonwealth positively.
Exodus commissions the building of a C.A.N.A.D.A base to be built on the dark side of the moon, this facility is set to act as a research and training ground for expanding the elite of the Canadian military.
