Battler and Rudolf stood on one end of the hallway, the murderous Ryuji Gohda stood at the other end.

"Rudolf Ushiromiya, you were meant to go down with the rest of the mommies and daddies this morning," said Ryuji Gohda. "Can't believe I let you get away, but, oh well. Time to reverse that mistake!"

Ryuji Gohda stuck his hand into his pocket and pulled out another shotgun.

"Hey, aren't those Gramps', anyway? How'd you get your hands on 'em?" said Battler.

"Same way you got that crowbar. They were just in there," Ryuji Gohda nodded towards the storage room.

Battler had enough. Not only was this guy going around murdering people and taking baths in his victims' rooms and jumping through their windows - wait he didn't actually do that part but still - he also had the audacity to steal from them? This had to stop!

Battler clenched his fist and took a step forward, but then Ryuji Gohda raised his gun with a calm smile on his face.

"Stop, Battler!" Rudolf got in front of Battler. "You're a smart kid! I learned this only now but you are not stupid! So run! Find a place to run to and I will hold him off! I will hold him off because I am your dad, the source of the sperm that created you."

"Okay, Dad, I will run," said Battler and he did the smart decision and ran. But where could he run? Battler used his brain which was smart to find an escape route. And he did.

"Now you varmint," said Rudolf. He slowly moved his hand into his jacket and pulled out a shotgun of his own. "Let's settle this."

Rudolf glared at Ryuji Gohda and Ryuji Gohda glared at Rudolf.

Ryuji Gohda thrust out his shotgun!

Rudolf thrust out his pistol!

GONG! went the clocks as it struck 12, the very moment the two fired their weapons. Despite having resigned to his fate, Rudolf had managed to fire first, and the bullet struck Ryuji Gohda in the shoulder! In that brief, final moment, Ryuji Gohda's aim was throw off and the bullet struck low, hitting Rudolf in the knee!

Rudolf could hardly celebrate this small victory, as he collapsed to the floor in pain. Ryuji Gohda, however, had swiftly recovered from his injury as if the bullet had not hit him at all! He took the shotgun in his left hand and pointed it at Rudolf's face.

"Don't feel too bad, you never could've won to begin with," said Ryuji Gohda. "Cause there can only be one culprit."

Ryuji Gohda FIRED his weapon, and Rudolf fell to the ground, dead!

And then he stole his pants.

Battler had just managed to pry open the door to the study enough that he could squeeze through when he heard the final gunshot. He glanced to his side and saw the monstrous Ryuji Gohda standing over the remains of his father. When Ryuji Gohda turned his attention to Battler, he remembered what he promised to do, and leaped through the gap.

Battler looked around. Kinzo's study was way bigger than any one man would ever need it to be, but he hardly had anywhere to run from here. The only way out was through the window, but that, just like the rooms George and Jessica were found in, was positioned over a steep cliff. Jumping out would result in him meeting the same fate as his aunt. But if he didn't leave now, Ryuji Gohda would surely come after him. And if he didn't, he'd just go after little Maria.

But what could Battler even do to stop Ryuji Gohda at this point? He'd managed to kill six people in the dining room with little effort, then he murdered Shannon and Kanon who no doubt tried to fight back. Then he shot Jessica in the face before using his immense strength to throw Eva out the window. Battler could still see Eva's remains, with a rock sticking through her chest.

Battler looked down at the corpse of his grandfather, and rolled him onto his back with a little kick. The gunshot had gone through his stomach and hit the wall at the other side of the room.

Battler looked up to the door, where Ryuji Gohda's bloodied legs were now visible. And now he had killed his father, after an unlucky shot to the knee.

Something clicked in Battler's mind. There was a way to stop him! He was about to go out and face Ryuji Gohda, but the killer was already walking away.

Damn, I've got to get back to the living room, quick! thought Battler.
