Prologue

"Terentia!"

The fifteen-year-old Pharaoh Atem fell to his knees next to the woman with long snow-white hair that reached her ankles, her normally hard looking and void of any emotions in her crimson-colored eyes were now dim looking and as much as she didn't want to show it in front of the Pharaoh, she was clearly in pain. Being stabbed in the stomach. The twenty-two-year-old woman looked up at her Pharaoh and placed a bloody hand on his cheek and smiled softly at him. Even though her hand was bloody he placed his hand over her hand to keep it there. "Please, hold on. I'll have a healer come-"

"No-" she said slowly and softly, her time was close. His own crimson eyes widen at her words. "But why?" he looked confused at her words and hurt somehow… "It's for the best, my Pharaoh. There will be a time when you will need protecting again - she will be there for you."

"What?"

He was even more confused at her words.

"You will know in time, my Pharaoh." She then turned to Set. "High Priest Set." He walked closer to her and kneeled down next to her and took her other hand into his. "Yes?" he noticed that she was getting weaker, but she spoke anyway. "Please protect the Pharaoh with your life, promise me."

He smirked at her. "I have already given my life to protect him."

"Don't give me an attitude, Set." She scoffed with narrow eyes. "Promise me."

He let out a sigh at the dying woman. "How could I refuse? Of course, I will promise to protect the Pharaoh."

A smile graced her lips, something that she didn't do often. "Good." She then tightened her hold on Set's hand the best she could. But soon her grip loosens, and her eyes slowly closed.

"Terentia… Terentia…" Atem let go of her hand that was on his cheek and her hand and arm fell limply to her side. Tears began to welled up in his eyes as he moved closer to her body. "Terentia, Ra- say something, please!"

"I'm sorry my Pharaoh, she is no longer of the living." Set said slowly as he put her hand slowly and softly next to her body.

Atem began to shake as tears began to fall down his cheeks as he held her body closed to his. "Terentia! No!"

And then Atem woke up in his soul room. He felt sweat going down his face and body, who was this Terentia? Apparently, he knew her and so did Set, his cousin, and adviser. And she knew them, for she killed the enemy that tried to kill him in battle, but she sacrifices her own life to do so. Whoever she was, he seems to have a close relationship or connection with her somehow. She was also very beautiful with her long snow-white hair and crimson-colored eyes. But regardless of whoever she is, she was dead now, in the afterlife - how come he didn't see her in his world of memories? He had thought that he had all his memories… were they fake or were they memories future back in his mind. And he even cried for this woman….

Who was she?

:::::

The first thing that Yugi noticed this morning, was that Atem was grumpy, clearly upset about something. "Hey, Atem! I hear a new student is coming to school today!" Atem who was floating next to him briefly looked at Yugi but didn't say a word. Yugi muttered something that Atem couldn't hear quite clearly. Then Yugi stopped suddenly, and this brought Atem's attention and he looked up and saw a crowd of boys surround a lone girl who was wearing the Domino High School standard girl's uniform, a pink jacket, a white blouse that was most likely with short sleeves. A blue bowtie, a blue short-ruffled skirt, thigh-high white socks, and black slip-on shoes. She had a brown bag in front of her, her hair was long and wavy past her shoulders with blonde highlights in her hair. But neither Atem nor Yugi could see her face because she was surrounded by a bunch of boys.

"Can you guys please move? I want to get to school on time."

Her voice was soft yet had seriousness in her voice. But they wouldn't leave.

"Hey! Leave her alone!"

Everyone looked up and some scrolled. "It's just Yugi!" The girl looked up then. Wide, turquoise-colored eyes looked Yugi's way.

It was her… in the face at least, only she looked a bit younger because she was sixteen and her hair and eye color were different, plus some other things, like she didn't have that cold look about her. This person looked like that Terentia, yet she was different. She had a surprised look on her beautiful face. "Yugi, as in Yugi Mutou?" Some of the boys groaned. "Man, Yugi Mutou knows a beautiful girl like you?" she raised an eyebrow at him. Yugi blinked as questions marks popped over his head. Did he know her? She didn't look familiar to him. "It's me, Tabitha Anderson!"

Then something clicked in his brain, he remembered a girl with very short brown hair, at first, he thought that she was a "He" with the way she wore her baggy tee shirt and shorts and a baseball cap that she wore. Then she corrected him and said that she was a girl. But she hated dresses and doing girly stuff. But back then, she protected him from some bullies - he was really a crybaby back then, but she stood up for him.

"Your Yugi, right? Let's be friends!"

For some reason, that memory - combined with that her surrounded by all though boys… he didn't want her to be anyway near another boy, besides him. So he marched up and was able to grab her hand and pulled her away from all the surrounding boys, towards him. She gasped and was clearly surprised at how he was acting. "Yugi!" she gasped out, but he ignored her as he dragged her to the school building. She didn't notice it, but Yugi was slightly blushing as he held her hand. He normally wouldn't be this forward with anyone, maybe Atem was rubbing off on him. They also didn't notice the group of boys' jaws drop, but Atem sure did, and he just chuckled to himself.

End Prologue

Well, here is the Prologue. This was about three pages long… Chapter One is being written as we speak, but I'm starting school again, so I will be busy with that, but I'll try to update as soon as possible.
