The Struggles of being a Demigod
There are many struggles of being a demigod. These struggles are often in their education, sleep, fatal flaw, and their phobias.
Many demigods grapple in the education department. For some it is getting accommodations for their classes, or it is paying attention in class because most if not all demigods are ADHD, or it might be in specific classes such as English because most demigods are dyslexic. For others it might be actually staying in school because if you are a more powerful demigod, more monsters will go after them due to their demigod scent. Most monster attacks are covered by the Mist, which can make a monster attack look like something horrible and the demigod often gets the blame for it.
Another main struggle of being a demigod is that you often suffer from fitful sleep. This may be a very common struggle for children of the "Big Three" or children of Apollo due to either how powerful they are or prophetic dreams which are more like nightmares. Sometimes it may be dreams that are a mix of their fatal flaw and their most traumatic memories.
A very crucial struggle for a demigod is their fatal flaw. Fatal flaws are physical or mental weaknesses. They are often the cause of death to a demigod. Their fatal flaws can depend on their childhood, their godly parents , whether they are Greek or Roman, or traumatic experiences. A demigod's fatal flaw is often a trait of their godly parents. For most children of Zeus, their fatal flaw is hubris (pride) or ambition. For children of Poseidon their fatal flaw can be loyalty and recklessness. For children of Hades it could be holding grudges and low self-esteem. For children Athena it is mostly hubris and thirst for knowledge. For children of Aphrodite it could be vanity or low self-esteem. For children of Hephaestus it is often low self-esteem or the feeling of inferiority. For children of Ares it is often excessive wrath. The Romans on the other hand, often don't seem to have fatal flaws. Demigod could also have two fatal flaws such as loyalty and recklessness or hubris and ambition. A demigod's fatal flaw could also be related to their past such as actually their past. Fatal flaws can also be based on experiences such as loyalty because it might be that you don't want to see others hurt as you were once hurt before. Their fatal flaws can also affect their dreams such as the flaw of loyalty can lead you to have nightmares of dead friends blaming you for their death but that could also be caused by low self-esteem. Fatal flaws can also be affected by traumatizing events such as war. Loyalty is often one of these fatal flaws. It often has been affected by war because if your friends that died you often blame yourself for their deaths even though you know it's not your fault it's your fatal flaw causing you to think that.
Some demigods struggle with phobias that are related to their godly parents. For example, children of Poseidon often have claustrophobia because "the sea does not like to be restrained." Another example is that children of Athena often have arachnophobia which is the fear of spiders. Their arachnophobia is often caused by the story of Arachne and Athena because the spiders are getting revenge for their mother who is Arachne. For children of Zeus they might have a fear of something that is water related but some may actually have a fear of heights. Some children of Zeus also have the fear of the underground due to the fact that it is Hades domain. For children of Poseidon it may be drowning or fear of heights or fear of the underground. Or children of Hades it is often heights, something water related, or even the dark or death. For children of Khione it is often the fear of fire.
Demigods may seem to have an easy life but really they don't. There are so many struggles that are related to being a demigod that I can't even name them. These are just the common ones.
