Chapter Two

Shortly after Link spoke with Impa, Princess Zelda awakened and got out of bed early too, feeling eager to start her day and spend time with her brave hero. About a century ago, just before the grim events of the Great Calamity struck, Link and the lovely princess weren't afraid to confess their feelings for each other.

In fact, they'd been secretly planning on taking trips to the lake or sharing meals together until Ganon struck. After that, Zelda and Link's plans were put on hold until the Demon King was defeated. With Hyrule finally safe and nothing getting in their way aside from reconstruction, the hero and the princess were free to go out together and date.

So far, Akkala Citadel and Fort Hateno, Castle Town and Lon-Lon Ranch had finally been rebuilt. At this point, the only other places left in Hyrule that were in need of restoration were Mabe Village, the Coliseum and other random settlements. But today, reconstruction wasn't the only thing on the princess' mind as spending time with Link was on her mind.

Zelda was currently visiting Akkala Valley to inspect the Citadel and visit some friends in the newly-built Tarrey Town before getting ready for today's special date with Link. Plus, the princess had decided to start her day with a walk and a bath in the warm waters of the Spring of Wisdom.

Strolling through the grassy field near the citadel, the white bathrobe-clad Hylian princess looked lovely this morning with her long golden hair tied back in a decent and lovely ponytail. The Hylian princess walked past a couple of broken-down Guardian-Skywatchers near the hilltops and realized she was getting closer to the Spring of Wisdom.

But, because Zelda was so preoccupied, the princess failed to notice or even realize that someone was watching her from afar. While she didn't notice, Zelda still had a strange feeling that somebody was spying on her and it had been going on for a week now.

When the princess woke up one the morning during a camp-out with Link in the woods, she suddenly found herself having a peculiar feeling that she was being watched. All those days later, the princess was wondering what was going on.

Pushing through clumps of vines and weeds, Zelda entered the Spring of Wisdom. She walked past the ancient marble pillars covered in vines near the entrance and ascended the small marble steps onto the platform surrounded by water near the statue of Hylia herself.

Zelda put down her towel and closed her eyes. She felt the breeze on her face and she took in the morning sunlight. Then she wasted no time in taking off her sandals and was just about to remove her robes when a ghostly voice spoke behind her, "How are you, my fearless descendant?"

Zelda turned around and nearly gasped in shock when she saw who'd spoken. Standing right there, surrounded by a ghostly aura was a golden-haired and blue eyed female Hylian wearing a white dress. One look at this ghost and Zelda felt like she was looking into a mirror. "Who are you and what do you want?" The princess asked with surprise.

"I am the ghost of your ancestor and namesake from the Skyloft era, the original Zelda." The ghost of Skyloft Zelda replied as she came forward to hug Current Zelda, "And I wish to talk with my descendant. In the years since the day Link and I moved on into the next realm, we have been watching Hyrule as it has faced the many challenges before it.

"We're proud of our descendants for standing up to the Dark Sorcerer Vaati and many others such as Ganondorf. But whenever Hyrule seems to be safe and once enough time has passed, that's when danger looms without warning. However, you have all done well in handling the threats to the future of your world."

"Thanks, Ancestor Zelda." Current Zelda blushed and nodded, "But is there anything else you probably came to tell me about aside from all of that?"

Skyloft Zelda solemnly nodded her head, "We may have underestimated the ancient Demon King Demise. Very recently, Link and I have been sensing that a surviving remnant of his spirit has been lingering for years and are concerned he may be about to return. But fear not, Hyrule is safe for now. May we talk again very soon..."

Skyloft Zelda vanished, leaving Current Zelda alone in the Spring of Wisdom in the morning air as a breeze blew in. 'Well,' Zelda thought to herself, 'Now I can finally bathe in peace with no more ghostly distractions.'

Even after Divine Beast Vah-Rudania was liberated from Ganon's dark influence and the Demon King himself was defeated, the Gorons' troubles were far from over as their mines were still cluttered with remaining monsters in the vicinity to take care of.

With or without Link and Zelda's help, Chief Stones did not hesitate to lead an all-out attack on a group of Bokoblins and Moblins occupying the ruins of an ancient mining stronghold near the base of Death Mountain.

The current Goron Chief was strong and could take any hits without the attack being fatal. Who needed armor or shields anyway? Especially when his body was sturdy and stone hard? But still, those Moblins and Bokoblins were annoying.

"You damn bastards!" Stones shouted as he hit a Red Bokoblin over the head with a spiky club, "Have a taste of Chief Stones. I hope you suffer in the underworld for what your master bestowed upon Hyrule!"

The Red Bokoblin toppled over and cried out as black blood poured from the wounds atop its head. Another crushing blow from Stones and the demon exploded in dark malice. One angry Moblin came charging at Chief Stones, swinging its club and bellowing like mad.

"Oh no you don't! Eat THIS!" Goron brothers Samyul the Sadistic and Jaksun the Terrifying yelled as they charged, swinging their special Megaton Hammers. KER BLAM! The two Gorons whacked the Moblin so hard that the big guy went flying.

The conflict in the mines between Chief Stones' forces and the Bokoblin-Moblin faction was hard fought and chaotic. While the monsters were taking high casualties, the Gorons were enduring very few casualties as the rock-eaters were strong and formidable.

Ever since nine o'clock in the morning, the battle had been unfolding almost nonstop. Thankfully, it was almost over and the Gorons were about to take back the entire mining area. Eventually, the last of the enemies fell and their remains all disappeared in a puff of shadowy smoke.

Stones' troops let out an excited cry of victory and were so busy punching the air with their fists and bro-fisting, they all failed to notice the nearby presence of a creepy man with white colored hair. "Well, boys? Why don't we go get the good stuff?" Chief Stones asked, feeling eager to rejoice his victory.

As Chief Stones and most of his forces departed the area, only Jaksun, Bumpy and Samyul, stayed behind to take care of clean up duty. "Goro, goro!" Bumpy hummed to himself. He was so preoccupied with his job, he failed to notice the white-haired man observing from a distance and preparing to make his move.

That all changed when the observer stepped from the shadows and ambushed Jaksun and Samyul, Bumpy heard the sound of the two Gorons grunting in pain and turned to see them fall over. He spotted the white-haired man and froze in fear, unable to say anything. The mysterious man snapped his fingers and vanished into thin air without a word...

In the following weeks after Master Kohga's demise, young Joyata Yutowa never in a doubt felt so alone and disconnected from the rest of the Yiga Clan. But here he was, meditating next to the very same pit where Master Kohga had met his end.

Joyata had his hood lowered and his mask off, revealing the face of a handsome young boy with deep blue eyes and light freckles on his cheek, a tattoo on his forehead and brown hair that was trimmed and perfectly combed.

As for his history with the Yiga, it all started when he lost his parents to those evil red-colored ninjas that one fateful day all those years ago. When Master Kohga himself saw the lonely Joyata in the aftermath of the attack, he took pity on him and took Joyata in. Kohga had even offered to train him as best he could.

Weeks ago, Joyata had still been in training and his eighteenth birthday was around the corner when Link came and defeated Kohga while reclaiming the Thunder Helm for the Gerudo after the Yiga had taken it from them.

Now, at the age of eighteen and with his training barely complete, Joyata felt more alone than when he lost his real family. Due to his status as a half-indoctrinated outsider, Joyata mostly distanced himself from his adopted ninja family and their activities.

While he meditated most of the time, little did Joyata know that things were changing. Within the past few weeks, he'd been having strange and dark visions of an evil and red eyed humanoid man monster leading an army under the glow of the Blood Moon itself.

'Damn, the Blood Moon is spooky.' Joyata thought, 'What's next; The moon falling and destroying the world?' He shook his head, knowing that was impossible. The moon crashing down upon the world would never happen…

Joyata opened his blue eyes and stood up, having decided to meditate somewhere else instead of meditating by the spot where Master Kohga had fallen. He picked up his mask and headed back inside the hideout, having decided to meditate in his room instead.

But then, the world suddenly darkened around the young man and he heard a chilling voice speak out. "Joyata..." The voice whispered and cold chills crept up Joyata's spine. He knew that voice far too well, he'd been hearing it for weeks!

His surroundings changed and a vision came over him. No longer did he stand in the Yiga Hideout, but upon the tall peak of a volcano right next to a crater filled with bubbling lava. "Joyata..." The voice said again.

Dark clouds filled the sky and thunder rumbled, lightning flashed and the volcano began to vibrate. Before Joyata knew it, he was face to face with the towering form of the Dark One as he appeared in a puff of smoke.

"Listen well to what Demise tells you, little human." The Dark One rumbled, "A new order will be rising soon and that day is coming as each hour passes. When I rise again, darkness will fall and my enemies shall be cast into the dark abyss, never to challenge me again."

"No!" Joyata said boldly, "You won't succeed! You'll be stopped, I know you will!"

"We shall see, Yutowa. Your fate has been decided, I'll see you soon."

"Unh!" More thunder rumbled and Joyata woke up with a start. He wiped some sweat off his forehead as noticed that he was back in the Yiga Hideout. Of course it had all been a dream, but it was still terrible. At this point, Joyata knew what to do. He had to find Link and talk to him...
