Chapter Four

Upon a grassy plain in the Hateno region near the village, Link and Zelda sat together on a picnic blanket with a wooden basket next to them and the ice box that contained Link's caught fish. Before they set up their meal, the duo took their time to take in the scenery.

"I'm so glad that today has been a good day for us to be together, Link." Zelda said with a happy sigh, "No enemies or random problems plaguing Hyrule for everyone to worry about, just the two of us on a date and enjoying the peace."

Link nodded in agreement and kissed Zelda on the cheek, "Yup, we can do whatever we want. Heck, I almost don't clearly remember our first date or our first kiss." Hearing that last sentence made Zelda giggle as just she rolled her eyes and pecked Link on the cheek.

"We had our first kiss right before the Great Calamity happened." The princess chided, "In fact, I bet that you don't even remember going for a swim. Is that true, Link? You don't remember the night we went swimming together in the desert oasis?"

Link's eyes widened, having not expected his girlfriend to press that subject. He looked at Zelda with a hint of utter confusion on his face. "What are you on about, Zel?" Link asked, 'I've gone swimming plenty of times. I dunno why...?"

He stopped to think and stared at the horizon for a while until it all came back like a dream. Link could remember now; he did remember that special night in Gerudo Desert...

―Flashback―

The stars shone in unison with the full moon in the sky, bringing light to every inch of Gerudo Desert including the lovely South Gerudo Oasis. While many people in Hyrule were sound asleep, a handful stayed awake and decided to have fun under the stars.

Among those eager for some evening fun were Link and Princess Zelda, both of whom had snuck out and came here on horseback. Nobody was around to watch and see the duo's activity, freeing them up to do what they were about to do.

What they planned on doing was all Zelda's idea; They were going for a late-night swim in the desert oasis. It would be fun and simple as well as romantic. Link sat upon the saddle of his horse Epona, bearing a relaxed expression upon his face. He wore a white shirt with brown shorts while carrying blue and red towels.

Link didn't carry his sword; he didn't need that right now. The area was safe. Zelda was relaxed as well as she rode her white stallion, wearing a sleeveless zipper shirt, brown shorts and sandals. She gave Link an attractive smile and winked flirtatiously. As they neared the oasis, she ordered her horse to stop and the hero did the same.

The princess climbed off her horse and tied it to a tree, hoping her ride didn't run off. Link did the same as Epona nuzzled Zelda's steed. Link took Zelda's hand and they walked towards the water, holding hands.

"Alright, Link, towels down!" The princess ordered.

Ready for their swim, the hero obliged and handed Zelda one of their towels as she set it down before Link put down the other towel as well. After that, Link took off his shoes and socks. Then he removed his shirt and pants until he wore only his boxers.

Watching her hero undress, the princess smiled and removed her sandals. Then she slowly undid her shirt and took it off. Zelda turned around and pulled down her shorts, giving Link a little tease as she did so.

In a matter of seconds, the princess wore only a white-blue bra and matching panties. Fetching a small ring, she pulled her hair back and slipped the ring on, tying her golden hair back in a ponytail.

Seeing the scene in front of him, Link whistled and flashed a thumbs up. "Lookin' good, Zel." He said with a grin. His compliment made the princess blush scarlet and giggle. Then she kissed Link to make him shut up.

Link wrapped his arms around her and pulled Zelda closer to him before they kissed hard on the lips. The princess pressed her shapely body against her muscular boyfriend's torso and the two of them French-kissed until they stopped to catch their breath.

Both lovers held hands for a bit before they fixed their attention to the oasis pool as it shone in the moonlight and showed a reflection of the starry night sky. "Ready, Link?" Zelda asked. She was ready to dive into the water and enjoy the late-night swim.

As the hero watched, the blonde princess leaped off the small edge with incredible grace and dove into the water. Not wanting to miss any opportunities, Link dived in as well, tucking in his body like a cannonball diver would.

Zelda bobbed up just as Link dove in. She saw him float too and waved for him to join her as she swam to the middle of the oasis pool. Link watched with awe, astonished by his royal princess's swimming skills.

His heart was pounding and his mind was racing too. Not wanting to hold back, the hero swam towards Zelda as fast as his arms and legs could allow him to. When he got closer to her, Link smacked the water and splashed a giggling Zelda in the face...

―End Flashback―

"Wake up, Link! Lunch time!"

Link snapped himself back to reality and realized that he was laughing. That memory had made him laugh. Regardless, he'd finally recovered every last missing memory of his old life from 100 years ago.

"Sorry, Zel." He looked at his girlfriend and kissed her. He noticed that she'd laid out the food for them, the Hylian Bass Meat was already cooked along with a delicious burger. Forget the past, it was important to live in the present as every day was a brand-new day...

As the sun set over Hyrule, Ghirahim and the spirit of Demise stood atop the Dueling Peaks. The two villains were watching the view, knowing that the world would begin to change soon. Within who knew how many hours that were left a new era would dawn.

"Just look how colorful the sky is." Ghirahim chuckled. He drew his swords and twirled them in his hands, smiling deviously.

"When sunrise approaches, it is just as pretty as sunset." Demise growled, "And when the Blood Moon rises, it will be glorious. Just a bit longer and I will have form again. The Hylians will never see it coming and neither will the foolish hero or his maiden."

The ancient Demon King pulled out a pair of binoculars and looked through them, observing the villages below and searching for people to spy on. He soon spotted two particular people; Link and Zelda. They were sitting on the top of Hateno Sheikah Tower.

Demise watched as the two Hylians held hands and talked amongst one another. While he couldn't figure out what they were saying, the demon warrior probably guessed Link and the princess were discussing a bright future for Hyrule.

He watched them for a while until Link and Zelda climbed down the tower and headed towards Hateno Village. "Peh!" Demise threw away the binoculars in disgust, "Young love. Wait until they meet their final ends, I am going to enjoy it so much."

Ghirahim and his master turned their attention to the sky as they noticed that the last inch of sunlight was gone for now, nighttime had descended and the stars were emerging. Demise looked to the horizon where a bright red light was glowing. He knew what it was...

"The Blood Moon rises!" Demise declared and began laughing maniacally. His sinister cackle echoed across most of the land, ignored by a handful of people who believed it was just the wind messing with them.

What many Hylians failed to realize was that the Blood Moon had reappeared and was rising higher into the sky. Thanks to Demise's powers, the red moon was starting to grow larger than normal in terms of size and power...
