Hello again, the first chapter was short so I decided to leave you this long chapter. Just to let you know, I won't be updating more often like this as I want. I am a college student, finalist and I wish to concentrate more on my studies. I had originally planned to update every week but it's hard. Just a reminder, this chapter has a lot of twists in it and one more thing, I will update the way of ways and then I might put this on hold as am preparing for my graduation.

Disclaimer: I don't own boys over flowers characters. Happy reading.

Previously: Ji Hoo and Jun Pyo fight at the airport over Geum Jan Di.

Three days later...

Jan Di entered the stairwell with a grin on her mouth. She sipped her milk blissfully. She had finally found what she wanted and couldn't help but beamed proudly at herself. She wanted to share the good news with her Sunbae before going to class.

Ji Hoo opened the door to the stairwell, a place that had become special to both of them. He had a bright smile on his face and he looked extremely happy.

"So you do still come here." He teased recalling how she had put a pout on her face when he declared that he wouldn't come here again because it had become noisy.

Jan Di turned and her smile grew wider at seeing Sunbae there "Sunbae!" she blinked at his new appearance. His hair was well-groomed, and it gave him a beautiful appearance as it showed off the view of all his handsome facial features. Her heart began to beat but she didn't show it.

Quickly digging in her bag pack, she pulled out another bottle of vanilla flavoured milk "This is for you" he accepted and wondered what was so special

"Has something good happened?" he asked before taking a sip of his milk

She coughed a bit "How did you know?"

Chuckling, he lightly ran his finger on her forehead, he felt her shiver and poked on her nose "You're my favourite book, a book I have enjoyed reading since I first got it and I am still enjoying, I don't get tired of reading it"

"Sunbae" she muttered affectionately. She began to feel awkward. She dug her boots in the concrete not daring to look at him.

Ji Hoo sighed, he tried to lighten the mood "Will you tell me what happened that made you this happy?"

She let out a small giggle and began telling him her experience at the clinic. How she was able to help Haraboji bring a new life into this world.

For the first time in months, she was finally smiling brightly. She noticed a spark in her eyes, they were twinkling brighter than the stars. "Although, whoever hears this would say I am crazy" she sighed looking forward to being a doctor. "If someone would have heard this from an average like me, they would call me stupid"

Ji Hoo turned his head and looked at the courtyard far away from where they are "Geum Jan Di has gone mad, completely crazy!"

Jan Di's heart sank. She had hoped that he would encourage her to go for it. Tears were threatening to come out of her eyes. He gave a short laugh, running the back of his hand on her cheek. He gazed into her eyes "Finding something you like enough is to be called crazy about, it seems difficult to find something you like, don't you think so?" she removed her angry pout "Anyway since when did you start caring about what people say to you?"

"Sunbae," she grinned before saying words that didn't sound hers in her ears "I don't care about other people's opinion" she looked down "I only care about yours," she said the last part in a low voice. Although he heard it, he decided to ignore her comment not to make her uncomfortable, deep down he was happy that she thought his opinion more important

"Just do it, if you want to"

"No matter how long it takes?" she grinned

"Yes, no matter how long it takes"

He held his drink to make a toast, "We should definitely celebrate this"

"Yes," she clicked her bottle with his

"Oh, by the way, I like your new look"

He watched her blush before holding her shoulders and leading her to her class. He led her to her seat protesting that it wasn't necessary. The students sneered at seeing how he kissed her cheek and walked away from their class.

Graduation for F4...

Jan Di walked into the hall to witness her friend's graduation. She had promised her Sunbae to attend the ceremony the previous night after he had invited her to dinner in his house. She watched as the principal say a few words and of course, four people were graduating but the event was grand that it felt was the entire school. The students of Shinhwa were there to witness the F4's graduation.

She had prepared Ji Hoo a gift, her signature chocolates but this time it was his face and she had also bought a dairy planner for him. She was excited to give him his presents even though they weren't of his standards, she knew he would appreciate them. She had even prepared an evening picnic to celebrate his achievements as he was the smartest in their group.

When his name was read, she stood gave the biggest and loudest clap ignoring the comments the students were saying against her. He had turned his eyes to the crowd but only managed to see her beaming proudly at him and whispered Congratulations to him. Her eyes shone with happiness, something he hasn't seen in a while. He felt happy for bringing back that bright smile and he intended on keeping it there.

He revealed his flawless smile to her as he stood next to his friends. Jun Pyo, however, didn't look happy as her eyes locked with his best friend. She hadn't even looked at him for once not even when he had gone to class to look for her. Her mind was focused on Yoon Ji Hoo. He dug his fingers into his certificate.

Yi Jeong and Woo-bin exchanged glances between each other before turning to look at the girl still smiling with Ji Hoo.

Why is she happy for only him, how about us? The two best friends exchanged silent questions.

...

"Sunbae," In front of his friends, Jan Di ran to Ji Hoo's side and threw her arms around his neck squealing happily. Ji Hoo was surprised at first but returned the embrace and held her gently closing his eyes feeling the warmth of her arms, inhaling the sweet fragrance of her hair that he knew so well.

They stayed like that for a while until realization hit them. They were in public. Ji Hoo reluctantly released her and brought her to arm's length. He looked down at her feet, she was wearing the shoes he had given her with a beautiful white off-shoulder knee-length dress. Ji Hoo had given it to her

I want you to wear this tomorrow

"Sunbae, I'm proud of you, I have a gift for you and I'm buying you dinner. What do you say Sunbae?" before he could answer, Woo Bin chimed in after noticing Gu Jun Pyo burning with anger and jealous

"How about us, Jan Di-ah?" Woo Bin asked and Yi Jeong nodded.

"Oh, I only prepared for Sunbae because I wasn't aware you guys were graduating early like him but I'm proud of all of you" she smiled at the two not daring to look at Gu Jun Pyo. She turned her gaze on Ji Hoo who was smiling at her. "Sunbae, I have a present for you but I will give it to you later. I will buy you dinner" Ji Hoo nodded and bid his friends a goodbye holding on to Jan Di's shoulder. He led her to his bike.

"She is going to buy him dinner?" Jun Pyo scoffed.

His friends knew he still loved the wonder girl but couldn't express it. He was hurting more the fact that Ji Hoo was always with Jan Di.

He had come back broken. He was still holding onto the necklace he attempted to give her back but she had refused it saying it was no longer hers.

Moments later, Ga Eul came rushing to her friend. She had stopped to buy her special friend a present. She was holding a very well wrapped box. She stopped in front of the F3.

"Ga Eul-yang, what are you doing here?" he asked annoyed thinking she had come for him

"Woo Bin sunbae invited me here," she smiled at Woo Bin and then she handed him a box

"What is in here?" Woo Bin asked taking the small box

"It's a small gift for your graduation" she smiled at him.

Yi Jeong looked to his best friend who was unwrapping the gift. He looked extremely happy. Then his gaze returned to Ga Eul who was still smiling at Woo Bin. He cleared his throat trying to get his attention but none of them gave him the attention.

"Wow! This is very beautiful Ga Eul"

Ga Eul had also bought a diary planner for Woo Bin. He had promised to bring Jan Di back safely from Macau and now she was thanking him

Yi Jeong and Gu Jun Pyo scoffed after looking at the book "Is that what you could afford?" Yi Jeong asked but his voice carried jealousy and envy in it. I thought she likes me and now she is giving Woo Bin-ah a gift?

Later in the evening, Jan Di led Ji Hoo to the small river. She had prepared a late evening picnic. She laid a white blanket on the grass and organized the small round table, inviting him to sit.

Ji Hoo was surprised by her actions but didn't plan to stop. "Jan Di-ah, did you organize all this for me?"

He looked around to see all his favorite food Chicken Pasta and her favorite food Bibimbap. There was also Kimichi Jjigae and fried chicken drum sticks and fruit salads with Chinese Moon cakes that had golden honey and green leaves as their fillings.

Ji Hoo turned a bottle that seemed to be a jar covered with a cloth. He turned his questioning gaze to her asking what it was

"Oh, this is rice wine. I got the recipe on the internet, I made it before I left for Macau and I hoped I could share it with you on your big day"

"Jan Di-ah, thank you," he made slow steps to her. He raised his hands to face and gently held it. Emotions were running wild in his mind, they locked their gazes that seemed to be electrically charged. He began tracing his fingers along her cheek and finally, the moment was broken by Jan Di's familiar growl in her stomach. The temperature began to rise in her cheeks

"Let's eat, I'm starving," he said to ease her embarrassment.

Jan Di and Ji Hoo began to eat. Ji Hoo praised the food while they chatted about university life and what awaits them in the future. As they enjoyed their meal, a black van stopped by and the F3 got out with grins on their faces.

"So you're here," Jun Pyo sneered.

"Can we join you?" Yi Jeong asked taking a seat next to Jan Di. She made space for him and served him some food that was still hot in the pot. Jun Pyo took a seat next to Ji Hoo and Yi Jeong while Woo Bin sat next to Jan Di and Ji Hoo. "Where are you guys following us?"

"Actually, we wanted to taste the food Jan Di bought for you, we didn't expect she would bring you here for a late evening picnic, how romantic" Woo Bin replied. "Can we share your food" Jun Pyo said before he was given a plate he was already getting his? Ji Hoo smacked his arms before he could grab the food.

"What the hell," he pouted at his best friend. He has always dreamt of tasting Jan Di's homemade food but when he had got the chance, that was when his father had passed away. He wondered if she could make him food even after their break-up.

"Ask from Jan Di, don't just pick as if it's yours"

Of course, she couldn't deny them food. The air around them became thick as Jun Pyo glared at his best friend who was sharing some of his food with Jan Di. He began shoving the food on her plate until she hit the table. "Gu Jun Pyo, who asked you to come?" she asked him coldly.

"Jan Di, we are sorry we didn't know that it was a private dinner for the two of you. Can you forgive us?" Woo Bin apologized. He was feeling guilty but he wanted to ease his friend's jealousy that's why he had trucked them to know where they were having dinner

"It's fine, I'm satisfied any way" she turned to the Jar of wine that was under the small table and gave it to Ji Hoo. "You can share with your friends if you want, I will be leaving"

She got her bag and removed the gifts she had got him. "Jan Di, I will take you" Ji Hoo offered but she turned it down. "No need, your friends are here and I have to work" she walked away with her bike.

"Can we have some?" Woo Bin asked. He was trying to lighten the air but it was useless.

Ji Hoo glared coldly at his friends "Why did you come?" he asked them but mainly Jun Pyo

"Yoon Ji Hoo, you're getting too attached to my woman" he backed at him. His best friend was always there supporting him and Jan Di whenever they had a fight but at this moment, he was taking advantage of the fact that they broke up.

Ji Hoo's feelings for Geum Jan Di were clear to the group but seeing acting on his feelings was escalating for the F3.

"You guys, it's a happy occasion. We've ruined it for Jan Di-ah, can you at least not let her efforts go to waste?" Yi Jeong said. He had lost his appetite. He didn't approve of Ji Hoo being with Jan Di no matter the circumstances. "Ji Hoo-ah, I know you care about her but she isn't yours" this excuse sounded lame to his ear.

"You guys now take Jan Di as an object? Does she have no right to be near any man apart from Gu Jun Pyo who has repeatedly hurt her? Do you know what he called her in Macau? Do you?" he yelled at them for taking their friend's side instead of being reasonable.

They bowed their heads "He called her a stain, a stain he wanted to erase, now he is here pretending that nothing happened" he turned to Jun Pyo. "You're my friend Gu Jun Pyo but I would gladly lose you than her"

"But-" Yi Jeong tried to reason with him. Was he going to break off his fifteen-year-old friendship because of a girl?

"You know what, Jan Di has always been nice to Gu Jun Pyo, she had wanted to confess her feelings to you even if it hurt me, I wanted to see her open her heart to you for the first time but she didn't get that chance before. That was the main reason she went to Macau but before she could say anything, you tossed that love back into her face..."

"So you're taking advantage of our situation" Gu Jun Pyo cut in

"Remember what I told you at the airport? I intend to fulfil that promise" he walked away with the gifts and wine that Jan Di had made him. He wasn't going to share it with his friends. "Thanks for ruining my evening"

"Did you really say that to her?" His friends asked him. They weren't aware of their conversation. When it had happened, they had already left the country to attend to family matters.

"You know how the witch is, I had to say that to protect her" he defended

"But your way of protection isn't sexy at all" Woo Bin grinned. "He even took away the wine before I could taste it" he complained

Gu Jun Pyo's birthday...

Jan Di was here once again dressed in party clothes for Jun Pyo's birthday. She had previously promised Jun-Hee that she would give her brother a chance, one more chance before making the final decision.

She had even tried to give her the necklace saying it was a symbol of their love and friendship. She accepted the dam thing that was constantly causing her pain, the thing that almost caused her death

She looked back at how it would have been if she wasn't involved with any of the F4. Life would have been easier. She had lost her first love and here she lost her first boyfriend. She didn't quite understand why Gu Jun Pyo could have changed from cruel to kind and then too cold.

Ji Hoo had told her that you can't always fully know a person. Maybe it was time to wake up to reality.

Ga Eul and Jan Di walked to the grand hall. The place was lively because the F4 was present. Ji Hoo along with Woo Bin and Yi Jeong ignored all their funs focusing on the entrance. Ji Hoo was the first to notice them and alerted his friends.

Yi Jeong convinces her to stay not to leave her best friend alone.

"You've come," was Ji Hoo's greeting.

She nodded regretting why she came. Sensing her distress, Ji Hoo went to her side and offered his arm. All the girls behind him squealing, sighing and gushing with envy at the way he looked at her.

They walked to their reserved table, Ji Hoo offered the chair and took one beside her. She noticed the clapping. Jun Pyo stood and blew the candles on his birthday cake. Their eyes met for a few seconds before turning his face away after he acknowledged she was there.

Ji Hoo laced his hand with Jan Di's. He leaned in to ask if she was ok.

"I think it was a mistake to come," she told him. He informed the others that he was leaving as Ga Eul followed behind.

They walked to the entrance but halted when a voice stopped then

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, please have a seat for this special announcement"

Jun Pyo's mother rang throughout the hall. Ji Hoo led the girls back to their seats even if it angered him to obey this witch.

"I Kang Hee-Soo, the mother of Shinwha's heir; I hereby announce that from now on my son Gu Jun Pyo is engaged and to be married to the heiress of JK group" after the announcement, the whole group turned to Jan Di who was on verge of tears. She looked up to see two bodyguards carrying a familiar girl in their hands, she was protesting.

Ji Hoo did what was best for the woman he loves, he led her out of the hall before she could break down his friends followed but still, the witch came with a satisfied smile on her face seeing Jan Di break. "I hope now you understand why I called you here. From now on, you shall stay away from my son."

She opened her mouth to speak but Jun Pyo was there ranting about what she did without his approval. "And you, are you so stupid that you had to come?"

"I guess your mother was right..." She was cut off with another ranting from Jun Pyo's fiancé. She had asked madam Kang if she was serious with the engagement "Miss, Ha, I discussed this with your parents and they agreed"

Jun Pyo turned to Jan Di who was clinging to Ji Hoo's arm for protection. He had a lot to tell her but she rejected saying she had nothing to say to him

"If you have nothing to say to me, I have something to say to you." He tried to grab her hand but instead, he grasped onto his fiancée's hand.

"You finally understand" Kang Hee-Soo walked away with a jubilant smile.

"You shouldn't believe..." Yi Jeong tried to defend his friend but she cut him off "No need to defend his actions, I'm tired of being around all of you trying to defend him yet it's him that keeps on hurting me" she turned away and walked off with Ga Eul following behind. Yi Jeong insisted on giving her a ride but she rejected him and of course, it hurt him. He had previously rejected her and now it was her turn to do the same.

...

Ji Hoo and Jan Di sat in the car, silence filled the air for a few seconds. Ji Hoo couldn't defend his friend's actions. He slipped his hand on her shoulder giving a comforting squeeze. She leaned into him as he whispered comforting words against her hair.

After a few minutes of crying, she didn't realize that actually, he had tucked her in his chest. It was warm and her eyes began to close.

Before she knew it, it was morning, birds singing happily because the morning was finally here, Ji Hoo was lying next to her holding her around her waist, her head was in his chest. She had known Ji Hoo for half a year now. She had noticed how being with him was comfortable. This wasn't the first time they shared a bed, even in Macau, he had held her as she slept.

"You're awake" Ji Hoo's hoarse voice startled her. He continued holding her more tightly, gently stroking her hair. "How did you sleep?"

"Better," she pulled herself out of his arms. It started becoming uncomfortable since she couldn't remember how she got in his T-shirt.

The sun was beginning to rise. "I think we should get ready for school," She said

Ji Hoo knew her well to know how uncomfortable it was for her. He tried to lighten the mood by suggesting cooking breakfast.

"I think I will cook, he got out of bed. You get ready" he walked out of the bedroom.

Ji Hoo couldn't help but smile at the memory of last night.

Flashback...

Ji Hoo had carried Jan Di in his arms to his bedroom. He had actually tried to wake her up to change into comfortable clothes. He had even succeeded but midway through changing, she fell asleep and Ji Hoo out of modesty, he helped her while observing her body. If it weren't for Jun Pyo, he would have kept on observing every inch of her. He knew she wasn't beautiful as she defined herself but she was wrong, Jan Di was a perfect description of beautiful.

"Why are you here?" Ji Hoo asked his friend. He wasn't aware that Jan Di was around.

"I came because Woo Bin-ah's place and Yi Jeong's place are noisy and full of girls." He made himself comfortable "I know three days ago hasn't been the best but did everyone get back safely?" Ji Hoo smirked

"If you're asking about her, you saw her a few days ago. She is fine and safe. But how about me, the punch you gave me and ruining my dinner with Jan Di-ah"

Present...

Jan Di walked out of class remembering how her classmates, in fact, the entire school talking about Jun Pyo's engagement as she walked to her bike she heard a sharp voice calling her "Wallet girl?" two times. She remembered and turned to see Ha Jae Kyung rushing to her. She smiled immediately at noticing her. "You remember me?"

"Yes, I do remember you" she replied awkwardly. Feeling uncomfortable

"But you don't seem happy to see me" she pouted "I'm your saviour"

"I'm happy to see you"

Ha Jae Kyung looked around. She was looking for someone. But her attention got to Jan Di asking her to call her 'Unnie' since she was younger. "Have you seen Gu Jun Pyo?"

"Yes, he is there." She replied immediately pointing to the F4 who were ignoring the screams and gushing from the crowd. She watched Ha Jae Kyung run to the F4.

"Monkey," she heard him call her. Then Ha Jae Kyung explained that she would be his girlfriend and of course, Jun Pyo turned to Jan Di who was watching with pain in her eyes. She walked away seeing the group smile at her antics.

"Are you okay?" Ga Eul asked as they served porridge to the customers. Ga Eul was corned with her best friend. She hasn't been able to ask what exactly happened on her trip to ignore Gu Jun Pyo. She had seen most times that Ji Hoo is always around. More so, she wanted to know if Jun Pyo's fiancé bothered her or if she was jealous.

"Actually, she is completely sweet and nice and besides she's also my Unnie. I think Jun Pyo will fall in love with her in no time"

"Unnie?"

"Yes, and she is a good person"

"Who is a good person?" Ha Jae Kyung appeared out of nowhere. She even introduced herself to Ga Eul, asking if they worked there. She also said that she has always wanted to work in a place like that.

Their master came from the kitchen saying she was welcome to work. Jae Kyung however borrowed the two best friends claiming she would be their older sister and they could be together.

...

Jan Di and her friend Ga Eul watched as she talked about her life that was full of adventure but also lonely without genuine friends. She had invited them to a small restaurant where they are different types of food. They realized how rich she was but still kind and down to earth.

"So tell me, what kind of woman does Jun Pyo like?"

"I think if you are yourself and not hiding behind the mask, he would fall in love with you" she replied

"Then I will be myself" she held out some outfits for them to check and see which one was best for him.

Geum Jan Di could see how Ha Jae Kyung was lively, beautiful and talented, she was also from a good family so she didn't stand a chance against her.

"Can you tell me anything about Gu Jun Pyo?" she asked

And of course, Jan Di who was still pinning for him had a lot to say. "He's extremely arrogant, he thinks the world revolves around him and he thinks money can buy everything he wants but the good thing about him, he's kind"

It was then she realized she talked too much and the two girls were looking at her. She gave an awkward laugh and continued to look at the expensive bags that were on display.

Back at the lodge

The F3 was looking at the wedding invitation while Ji Hoo was on his usual chair reading through a magazine for food. He has been learning how to cook different foods for a while. Jun Pyo was pacing back and forth making a funny noise. "So you're saying that girl bit your ear?" Woo Bin teased him

"Aish…"

"We all know that it is Jun Pyo's sensitive spot" Yi Jeong added laughing along with Woo Bin, they turned their gaze at the quiet friend who was reading at the recipe in the magazine.

"You guys are supposed to be my friends" Jun Pyo went for the exit, kicking Ji Hoo's foot in the process. "Make way!" he yelled. Of course, his best friend couldn't move an inch, he tripped and almost fell to the ground.

"Gu Jun Pyo is trapped," Yi Jeong said "How can we help him?"

"Why don't you two take care of it?" Ji Hoo suggested sharing a secrete smile with them. It was well known that all the F4 had their traits and Ji Hoo's charm was his beautiful smile, Woo Bin and Yi Jeong were the charmers and Gu Jun Pyo was his money. Yi Jeong and Woo Bin exchanged the look they shared as best friends.

Jan Di made her way home walking silently still thinking about her new friend Ha Jae Kyung. She had received a pink handbag that was bought at a high price that would pay her father's gambling debts. She reached home and her parents and brother were wearing a sorrowful expressions. She wondered what happened but she didn't need to ask, her brother was browsing on the internet showing the Royal couple. They were about to see the woman whom he was engaged to, there was a knock at the door.

The landlord.

The Landlord walked in saying that she had sold off their home to someone who was offering more. She asked the Geum family to vacate the residence in a week. Geum Jan Di being a good daughter promised to find a place where they could stay but her parents had already made plans to leave within two days.

There was another knock at the door and Jan Di's brother went to get the door and he came face to face with Ha Jae Kyung.

After the brief introduction to the Geum family, she was welcomed into the family not knowing that she was the fiancée of her ex-boyfriend. Jan Di led her to her room, her small room.

Ha Jae Kyung was now settled in Jan Di's bed while she lay on the floor

"This is like a sleepover party!" she gushed. "I have never had a genuine friend to do this with…Jan Di-ah, you are a very warm person and everything in your room is so cosy"

"…Really? Saying that you remind me of my first love" Jan Di said suddenly without thinking. Ji Hoo had called her a warm person and that he always felt comfortable around her

"You have are first love?" she leaned over "How is he like?" she asked excitedly

Jan Di looked back at the first time she laid her eyes on Ji Hoo when he was at his favorite bench playing a beautiful melody. Her gaze had lingered and noticed how handsome he was and still. He absorbed her entire being, his eyes, his smile, his gentle voice

"All I say is that everything around you disappears when you look at his beautiful eyes. And when he speaks and holds you, every problem fades away and though you don't want to smile, you end up smiling" she replied after five minutes of pondering

"Oh, so you're saying you feel good around him"

She nodded and Ji Hoo's face kept coming back in her mind

"For me," she looked at the ceiling "Jun Pyo is like wine,"

"Like wine?"

"Yes. That very strong wine and when you drink it, your blood starts boiling…I hope he notices the impact he has on me and I also hope that there is no one in his life"

Next day…

Jan Di came out of her class. She was had a week to prepare for her exams and within two days, her parents and brother will be leaving the city. She walked towards the building where the pool was, but she felt weird lately. Someone seems to be following her and all of a sudden, Gu Jun Pyo was also silently following her every move. She stopped and turned to look at him and find out what he wanted but he pretended he was looking somewhere else

Maybe it's my imagination she thought and shrugged off and continued moving but the odd thing is was Gu Jun Pyo kept moving towards her and she finally gave in "What do you want Gu Jun Pyo? Do you have something to say?" calling his name tasted like vinegar on her tongue

"Why aren't you swimming anymore?" Of course, that is the first question that got out of his mouth

"I quit." She replied

"What kind of a swimmer quits swimming?" he asked again

"That's none of your business." She sneered and walked away but the man kept following her and she turned again so fast with fury burning in her eyes and he flinched. "I almost forgot, was there something you want from me? Because you're making me dizzy" she snapped at him

"I hate to be misunderstood; I wanted to clarify this situation." He said

"What situation?" she asked as her voice was at the edge

"The engagement or whatever they call it…I have nothing to do with it"

"Me too," she huffed "Gu Jun Pyo, I didn't know that now you're so generous. You're even giving an explanation to your stain." She said with malice she was feeling towards him. She looked to her side to see his fiancée rushing towards them

"Oh, look," she pointed at his fiancée running "Your fiancée is looking for you"

He rolled his eyes "What is this monkey doing here?"

"And what are you doing here if you've graduated?" she asked before walking away

Gu Jun Pyo continued to follow her this guy is becoming annoying she walked as fast as her feet could carry until she saw him.

Ji Hoo was on his bike preparing to drive off. He looked like he was from the music hall and a new girl who was holding a violin case was standing near his bike. She was blushing but it seemed that Ji Hoo couldn't recognize her efforts.

Jan Di rushed to him "Sunbae, can you give me a ride?"

Ji Hoo could tell she needed to leave this place immediately. He handed her the extra helmet that was meant for her only. The girl disgustingly watched Jan Di.

"Jan Di-ah," he called her before she could wear her helmet "This is Yoo Ae Ra, she is a violinist" he turned to Ae Ra "This is Geum Jan Di, a special friend of mine"

Jan Di being a girl of her manners, bowed to the girl who didn't recognize her gesture "Nice to meet you" she smiled but the girl was still looking at her appearance. When Ji Hoo made eye contact with her, she mastered a fake smile and gave a short bow.

Gu Jun Pyo was right behind them and stood silently. He watched the new girl sneering at Jan Di. Ha Jae Kyung also came "Seeing you two together makes me wonder if this is fate! Jan Di and Jun Pyo know each other and you seem close, right?" Ha Jae Kyung said happily while the rest of the group remained silent and then her eyes settled on Ji Hoo and the girl next to his bike "Oh…you're…"

"He's Ji Hoo sunbae," Jan Di said and Ae Ra closed her mouth

"Why are you introducing my friend?" Gu Jun Pyo objected, he was annoyed by the fact that Jan Di walked to Ji Hoo and he helped her fasten the strap of the helmet under her chin. "Hey monkey, this is my best friend Yoon Ji Hoo. And this is Yoo Ae Ra, the only daughter of Yoo and a finalist in music, she's also the only daughter of the Yoo family"

Ha Jae Kyung smiled and bowed to both of them and her eyes settled on Ji Hoo. He began feeling uncomfortable because he was not used to being watched and smiled apart from Jan Di who made his heart thump faster.

"You like him? At least you have good taste when it comes to men," Gu Jun Pyo continued

"I get it now," Ha Jae Kyung said halting Jan Di from slipping her small hand into Ji Hoo's big one

"What?" Gu Jun Pyo asked, confused

"It's him, right?" Ha Jae Kyung directed her question to Jan Di

"Eh? What?" she looked dumb stricken

"Jan Di, this guy is your first and greatest love according to your description from yesterday. Right?"

First and greatest love Ji Hoo thought turning his gaze to Jan Di who was doing everything she could to avoid the question her cheeks were flushed and she was nervously moving her hand. He then turned to his best friend who looked like he had been struck by lightning.

"That's great!" Ha Jae Kyung laced his hand with Jun Pyo. "Let's go out together, the four of us, okay?"

"No!" was a response from the group including Ae Ra who was forgotten that she was still there

"Why not?" she asked sadly

"Well…I have things…a lot of things to do. You two have fun" she slipped behind Ji Hoo and held him around his waist as he rode off from the small group. Ae Ra was dumbfounded while Jae Kyung was gushing at them

Jan Di asked Ji Hoo to take her to some apartments that were in good condition but not so expensive. A lady had given her that address to go and use her apartment. "What are we doing here?" Ji Hoo looked at his tall building. The apartments were owned by the Yoon group but these were the lowest apartments in good condition it gave chances to people who had nowhere to live to get a chance to comfortable shelter.

"Someone said there was a room on the 5th floor that needed cleaning and I could use it" she replied. She got off the bike and put the helmet aside and Ji Hoo did the same. They used the stairs to the 5th floor to look at the apartment. Jan Di opened the door with the key card she was given. She walked in and Ji Hoo followed her inside.

The apartment had two rooms, a big bedroom with an attached bathroom and toilet in it, it had a big bed and some old looking grey curtains. The living room had an old TV, an old fridge, an old couch. A kitchen and dining table was attached.

"It needs a lot of renovation," she said to herself but Ji Hoo heard the comment. "I will come back tomorrow and clean the place" she walked out and Ji Hoo hadn't said anything but he made a mental note to made the renovation himself.

"Jan Di-ah, why are you moving out from your family house?" he asked concerned

"Our landlord sold our house and now my family will be leaving the day after tomorrow"

Ji Hoo had nothing to say. He excused himself to make a call and after five minutes he returned. They rode back to town. Jan Di directed Ji Hoo to the clinic instead of the porridge shop. "You have a job here?" he asked

"It's not a job, exactly. I volunteer here. I just do some cleaning, run some errands. When I am here, I feel free and concentrate on my studies"

"You're so diligent." He smiled

"What do you mean?"

"You always put so much effort into everything you do even if it's a minor issue" she smiled at his compliment. They locked their gazes but suddenly she recalled exams in a week

"Oh…sunbae, I have been meaning to ask you something,"

"What is it?"

"Do you think you could…um…help me revise for my exams?"

Ji Hoo held her hands, looking into her eyes, "When are your parents leaving?" he asked instead of replying to her request

"They will be leaving tomorrow in the morning, why do you ask?"

"I will help you renovate that apartment then I help you to do your revision"

"OK," she handed him the helmet "I'm going in, be careful" she walked away and before she could enter…

"Jan Di." She looked at him "I'm also good at cleaning" he said

Jan Di looked confused for a moment but understood what he said. She invited him into the clinic.

Ji Hoo followed her into a small clinic where it was volunteer work. The place began to be bright the moment patients saw Jan Di walk to them. They smiled as she greeted them and the little kids rushed to her giving her hugs and calling her 'Noona, piggyback ride'. Ji Hoo looked at Jan Di as she smiled and became lively. Ji Hoo observed the place until his eyes landed on the old looking doctor who was examining the patient and saying something like 'Your pressure is stable but you need more check-ups to be sure' he said

He looks familiar he thought

The old lady stood from the chair and so did the doctor

No

"Haraboji?"

The doctor made eye contact with Ji Hoo. He already had tears in his eyes and what came to his mind as he rushed out of the clinic while the old man called his name "Ji Hoo...my grandson"

"Haraboji, what's the matter?" she asked as she helped him back into his office. She offered him water and he asked her to close the clinic.

She returned home only to find her family gone, she tried calling but it seems they left even without telling her, they had taken their things and left her staff behind. she looked around the empty house and she finally understood how Ji Hoo felt for over fifteen years living alone in the big house without warmth from his own family

Next day…

Jan Di couldn't stop thinking about Ji Hoo who ran after encountering his grandfather and Haraboji. She shared the news with her best friend and was surprised to find out that the old grumpy man who caused trouble for them at the porridge shop was the former president of Korea and also Ji Hoo's long lost grandfather. But what they couldn't understand was why Ji Hoo and his grandfather haven't been together for fifteen years and we were not talking to each other

"It's not that they don't want to talk to each other; it's just that they're not able to," their boss interrupted them

"Master, how do you know that? Do you know them perhaps?" Ga Eul asked

"You must help them Jan Di-ah," their master asked her.

"By the way, have you found an apartment yet?" Ga Eul asked

"Yes, I did but that aside, I will try to find him" she wondered how to get them together "But how can I help them? Sunbae ran off and don't know where he went" Jan Di said

"He might have gone to visit his parents," Boss said and went back to cooking.

Jan Di went to the clinic to talk with Haraboji. As she walked, she again noticed someone following her but when she turned back, no one was around. She arrived at the clinic and good thing, there were no patients only Haraboji standing in his office, looking at the family portrait.

"Hello, Haraboji! Can I offer you some tea? I'm sure you didn't rest well"

The old man didn't answer, so she went to make tea. She was sure he didn't sleep and he looked weak and had no one to help him. The once most respectable person in the whole of Korea looked like an ordinary man who has been abandoned by his family. She mixed some green tea just like Ji Hoo liked it and took it for him.

"I killed them…I'm the one who is responsible for their death, I'm the one who made my Yoon Ji Hoo an orphan. It's all my fault" he said with tears and regret.

Jan Di didn't know how to comfort him. She knew deep down whatever he did was because he wanted to protect Ji Hoo from his enemies.

She listened to the whole story without saying anything because she didn't know what to say. She listened to the whole story and when he was finished, she cooked him some porridge and advised him to rest. The old man obeyed her and went upstairs to the small room to rest.

Jan Di was still thinking about Ji Hoo then her best friend's call interrupted her. She said she was going on a date with Yi Jeong. Geum Jan Di knew her best friend was tricking her so she didn't buy the idea.

She began to call Ji Hoo but the number was disconnected

Jan Di wondered where Ji Hoo's parents could have been buried. She made an impulsive decision to talk to Gu Jun Pyo. She had a feeling that he might know where his best friend was. She went to the mansion only to find Woo Bin copying the dance moves on the TV that he was watching "Hello Woo Bin sunbae?" she greeted with a bow

"Hello wonder girl, if you're looking for Gu Jun Pyo, he's in the room" Jan Di didn't think twice and rushed into his bedroom only to see him half-naked. She left immediately and went to the living room. She took a seat and when Jun Pyo delayed she to Woo Bin for help "Woo Bin sunbae, do you know where Ji Hoo sunbae's parents were buried?" she asked and Woo Bin seemed shocked

I thought she was here to find out about Yi Jeong and Ga Eul, why is she asking about Ji Hoo-ah?

"Why do you seem surprised?" she asked

"Oh…I thought you're here for another matter?" he replied feeling uneasy

"I know," she smiled "Ga Eul is important but her going out with Yi Jeong sunbae?" she shook her head "I don't have time to fall for your pitiful acting" she walked away but she recalled and came back to see Woo Bin on the phone calling his best friend

'Just drop it, she knows it's a tactic to get her and Jun Pyo together' he said and turned around to see Jan Di looking at him

"Address," she opened her hands. Woo Bin wrote the address down on a small piece of paper. The place was far away so she needed to book a taxi.

"Gu Jun Pyo can take you" he suggested seeing Jun Pyo all dressed up and ready to go

"No thanks, I can go by myself" she walked out to Jun Pyo following her behind. He tried to snatch her hand but Jan Di being who she was, got the next taxi that was available leaving behind the frowning Jun Pyo.

Ji Hoo sat on his parents' grave. He offered them white daises, his mother's favorite and also Jan Di's favorite flowers. "Grandfather…he still hates me, right? The people that I care about have left me one by one. I have tried to leave a selfless life but Geum Jan Di…I love her; will she leave me like the others?" He asked.

He remembered that Jan Di's apartment was ready for her to move in, he tried to reach for his phone but familiar footsteps made him stop.

Jan Di

Jan Di was rushing to him. He didn't know what came over him but he made quick strides to her and met her on the way and held her hands. She was out of breath since the graveyards were on a hill, she might have run up here

"What…are you doing here?" he asked surprised

"Sunbae," she raised her hand to his cheek and felt it wet "I was worried about you, so I asked Woo Bin sunbae where your parents were and he gave me this address, I hope it's okay"

He gently gathered her in his arms, holding her close. She let herself be cocooned in his arms and what seemed like hours of holding her tight. He felt he could have the strength of going on since she was here. A cleaning man passed by and looked suspiciously at them.

Ji Hoo let go after he felt someone watching them. It was a man around their age cleaning graveyards. He looked suspicious and now his alarm kicked in. He escorted Jan Di to his parents, she paid her respects and after a few sweet introductions, promising to bring her some other time, he held her hand and led her down the hill to his bike

Jun decided to visit Yi Jeong at his studio since he had nowhere to go. They talked for a while and he decided to bring up their fight in Macau. About Jan Di quitting her swimming. "A swimmer quits because of a shoulder injury.

"What do you mean?"

"Is there any other swimmer we know?"

Jun Pyo was now fuming at how Yi Jeong was beating around the bush

"Do you remember she got hit by a chair while trying to save your life? Ji Hoo took her to a specialist and they told her that she will never be able to swim again. she cried so much"

"Is it true?" he asked

"It doesn't matter how much we try. Guys like you and me, only end up hurting the women we love."

After an hour ride, Ji Hoo packed his bike in front of his building. He pulled out another copy of the key and escorted Jan Di to the apartment she had purchased. She walked in and a great surprise awaited her.

The once old looking apartment was looking new. The walls were painted in a cherry blossom colour, the floor had a highly expensive-looking brown woollen carpet, there was a long single couch pink yet elegant. It was in the middle of the living room with a glass round table.

Everything in the house looked new, the old curtains were replaced with new looking grey curtains, the 50 inched flat-screen TV was placed in a shiny mahogany cupboard. The kitchen and the dining area was also different

"Wow!" she smiled and rushed to her bedroom, it was a king-sized bed and it had a stuffed grey otter on it and a golden retriever puppy was in its small bed sleeping but when it woke up after seeing its masters had arrived. "Sunbae!" she exclaimed, "You got me a puppy?" she asked incredulously

"I remembered what you told me on our first date" was his only reply

She beamed and scooped the puppy and it began licking her face.

She went to the bathroom had no words to describe but all she could say was a 'wow'. There was a white square Jacuzzi-like bathtub, there was a sitting toilet and a sink with two new cups for toothbrushes

She finally turned to Ji Hoo who was silently watching her every expression. He thought he had made a mistake but it seems his work wasn't bad. "Thank you," she said affectionately

"Can I cook for you?" he asked as they walked out of the bedroom. "Lately, I have been attending cooking lessons online and I want to put what I learnt to good use"

Jan Di was surprised. She put the puppy down that was getting cozy in her arms. It began running around.

Jan Di helped Ji Hoo with the apron, they opened the fridge and got the ingredients for their super since it was late. He cut the tomatoes, onions, garlic and meat. He measured the rice in a container, washed it and packed it in the rice cooker. He placed the ingredients he had cut and added an egg with all the spices.

Within twenty minutes, the food was ready. Jan Di organized the table and brought out the plates for food. Ji Hoo served the food and waited for Jan Di to taste it.

"How is it?" he asked

"Hmm," she looked at him still enjoying the taste "It's delicious"

"I'm glad you like it" He dug in his food, finding it tasty

Ji Hoo and Jan Di enjoyed their super with Rio soft drinks that were in the fridge. Jan Di cleared the table and washed the dishes as Ji Hoo sat on the sofa watching a music concert on the TV. When she was done, she came to join him on the sofa and they watched TV

Ji Hoo cleared his throat. He wasn't planning to anywhere tonight because it was already late and another thing, he didn't want to stay alone. He pulled out the reading timetable since Jan Di was about to do exams and he wanted her to pass. After discussing the books to use. He sat silently and so did Jan Di. They made no move on the couch but What Ji Hoo said caught her off guard...

"Can I stay here tonight?"
