Chapter One:Bella

"Run Bella! As fast as you can, the clock tower! GO!" Alice screamed, her eyes glazed over.

I ran, time seeming to slow down as I shoved my way through the crowd. How did I end up here, in Volterra, Italy? Let me tell you…

The wolf pack and I had gone cliff diving. Jake was with his imprint, Lauren. She may have been a bitch pretty often, but she explained what happened in her home life. Now that Jake could take her away from it, she got the therapy she needed. I was jumping with Paul. We were having a blast, but I knew I needed to get home soon. Charlie wasn't the best dad, and he could get a little mad if I wasn't home before him, even over the weekend. Paul drove me home. Charlie's cruiser wasn't there, thankfully, although Carlisle's Mercedes was. Paul walked in before me and we saw Alice.

"Alice, what are you doing here? Jasper is only a couple days out, isn't he?" My concern for my blood sucky brother is notable.

"Of course, everything is going fine. I was just here to ask if you and some of the pack might want to go on a vacation," her mischievous smile firmly in place. "Jasper has already switched back to his old diet and I'm going to join him. We separated from the Cullen 'family', pretentious bastards."

"Vacation? What do you mean vacation? You can't stand us, why would you take any of us on vacation?" Paul was rightly suspicious, I was too.

"Exactly what I said. I know that some of y'all are starting to feel stifled. I know the imprinted few will want to stay here, so it works out fangtastically. Besides, The Kings want to introduce you to some other shifter clans the world over."

"There… There are more of us?" Paul was shocked enough to sit down.

I'll admit, I was very sceptical. Not about Alice, she was Jasper's Mate, about the Kings though…

"Paul, call Jacob. I'm weary, but this could be a good thing, and we know Jacob's little trick will be beneficial," I place my hand on his shoulder.

A few minutes later, Jacob was there. While he may not officially be Alpha yet, he was definitely filling into the role quickly. His Alpha Timbre worked on everyone.

"Alice Branden Whitlock, Speak The Truth to Me," his voice hung in the air, flavouring it with pine and power. She nodded her head and spoke.

"The vampire royal family has information for your pack. There are more of you the world over. They wish to introduce you. They want to help. The shifters can help you. Adding that a lot of you need a break. The imprinted wolves need to stay here, but you can keep the tribe and town safe, this I have Seen," Alice's eyes were unfocused just slightly.

"Thank you Alice. I'm going to talk to Sam and we'll send the rest of the Pack to you. Paul, stay here, please," Jacob nodded to us all and ran, shifting mid-jump off my back porch.

Of the wolves, the only ones who couldn't come with were Sam, Jake, and Jared. There were a few who hadn't shifted yet, but they had a while to go and wouldn't be safe on the trip. We ended up with Seth, Leah, Embry, and Quil V., as well as Paul.

"Alrighty y'all. First thing, I want you all to take a deep breath and notice something," Alice spun around, stirring the wind.

"You smell… Not like others. Like spring well water and blueberry , but not burned sugar," Leah got closer and sniffed Alice closer. "Heh, you have a little bit of fresh peach too."

The other wolves nodded.

"Yes, that burned sugar smell is how you identify evil or malicious vampires. There are plenty of human drinkers who aren't ever going to smell like that. Animal drinkers, less so," Alice explained. "Second thing, you have five hours to pack and meet back here. We have a 0100 flight to catch from Seattle. You absolutely have to be back here by 1800. It's a three and a half hour drive to SeaTac Airport and then a nearly thirteen hour flight."

My turn. "Let's go, people! Who needs a lift? Jake just texted, told me Alice can go on Rez if anyone needs help. We'll be gone for a while."

The only one who wanted or needed any help was Leah.

"Guys? You don't want to pack?" I looked at them all.

"Most of us can't afford clothes after the shift. We destroy them too often to make an effort anyway," Embry muttered, looking away from me and Alice.

"Alright then. New plan. We're gonna go clothes shopping. Leah, do you have any clothes you want to pick up or would you rather new clothes?"I look at her, she seems hopeful.

"New clothes, please. I don't have much left and I'd rather not chancee destroying them," she looks at Alice.

"Right then, let's all get in the Mercedes and head to Port Angeles for clothes. Alice, we have the room, let's get going."

I swear I heard her mutter 'finally' because I actually took initiative and wanted to shop. We left my truck behind.

We got to Port A and there were nearly fifteen options strictly for clothes. Alice did insist we get at least one suitcase full, which she had in the trunk. We went through them all and barely had enough clothes to satisfy Alice. Leah and I got undergarments too.

We got to the airport with time to spare so we ate, drank, and relaxed. Alice passed around fake identities for us saying we were all above eighteen. The only one that didn't say twenty one was Seth's. He was twenty. Aside from the year, the dates were the same as our normal ones.

The plan had been to trout Italy for a week before going to Volterra. That got ruined on the third day when Alice had a vision or Rosabitch telling Edward I was dead.

That's how I ended up here…

I honestly couldn't believe that fucker could be so selfish. I launched into him and nearly broke my own collar bone from the force I hit this melodramatic child with.

"Get back in the shadows Edward or, so help me God, I will light you on fire myself!" I growl at him as he wraps his arms around me, prattling on about how it didn't hurt at all and blah blah blah.

"I'm not dead, now MOVE!" I try to push him back into the shadows.

"Well, the Masters will be quite happy to see your human alive, Edward," a voice came from behind us, further in the shadow.

"I am not his human. I never was," I growl back at the velted voice. "I was merely a pet. His singer. This useless vampire couldn't even give me the decency to try to eat me."

The man and his companion walk closer to us so I can see them. It's Felix and Demitri. Alice told me what they looked like.

"Sir Demitri. Sir Felix. Shall we go? This melodramatic ass has pushed our schedule up by four days. I do wish we hadn't met under these circumstances," I nod my head to them as I move away from Edward. Who knew a vampire would let his grip slack when he's surprised. I immediately walked over to Demitri and touched his palm.

"Yes, dear Tessoro. Let us go," He held his arms out in invitation to carry me. I just leaned back into them and he lifted me up bridal style and zipped away. I could hear a scuffle, I knew Felix was restraining Edward and forcing him to move.

I knew Alice would be waiting for us. She would send the wolves with Jasper to another part of the castle, with permission from the Kings.

We get to the throne room in maybe a minute, all I know is that I am very comfortable in Demitri's arms.

We stopped in front of the kings and Demitri set me down.

"My Kings, I am so sorry for the abrupt change in our schedule," I set one knee on the ground and bowed my head, hands folded over my other knee,

"Please, Isabella, you need not kneel. This isn't your fault things got messed around. Mr. Cullen here is just an irrational child," Caius had a small, malicious grin on his face. Marcus sat up and stared at me and Demitri for just a moment before gesturing for us bothe to come to his side of the dias.

"Bella, what are you doing? Come back here, right now!" Edward snarled at me, trying to grab me. I was too far away from him to begin with, but as soon as he started to move my Demitri had me away from in a second.

I grinned like a shark at Fuckward.

"Eddie, you should know not to disobey the Kings. It isn't a good look on you, disobedience. Although, you do a wonderful job at petulence."

He just snarled more.

"Edward Cullen, this is your final warning for disobeying the laws of our people. Return to your coven, without Isabella Swan, and pass this message. Another human brought into the secret and abandoned will result in the annihilation of you, Carlisle, and Rosalie Cullen. Do not disappoint us," Aro Volturi let his ancient aura flood the room and saturate the senses of us all.

Edward, fully cowed at the moment, nodded mutely and fled the castle.

"Granddaughter, come here. I have so looked forward to this. Ever since young Alice came to us years ago," Aro looked at me and held his arms open for me. I didn't hesitate to run and hug him.

"Alright, Jane, could you retrieve Alice and the wolves? There is much to discuss," Caius spoke to Jane.

"Yes Uncles. Just a moment," the little blonde flashed out of the room to collect the new ones.

In the time she left and came back, I had disentangled myself from my grandfather and moved back next to Demitri. I'll admit, I was nervous. I knew we would be okay, but I was still nervous.

When Jane came back, Jasper and his coven had joined us. We were all talking about what might happen.

"Alright Alice, what have you seen? I had Afton bring the projector so you could show us if you wish," Aro motioned to a smooth, silver sphere on a gold and bronze stand. Alice nodded and set her hands on the sphere. She cried out as spikes pierced them.

Jasper started forward, to his Mate, when she looked at him and shook her head. He nodded and stepped back, fidgety and unhappy.

A golden and grey shimmer flew up and around the room. Images started to swirl in the glitter before solidifying.

A group of vampires, led by a man with hair as white as his skin and another with hair the colour of coal, was heading for Volterra. They killed and turned many on their journey to the castle. I saw Edward and Rosalie among them.

It shimmered and turned to the other team. There were giant wolves, horses, cats, and other animals. There was a young man that seemed to be controlling the elements. Another was sparking purple plasma arcs off her body. There were so many people and right at the head was the Three Kings and their Mates, their Queens. As we watched, the two armies clashed and war began. The ground was destroyed, the air was charged with hate from the opposition and determination from The Volturi. I saw a woman with dark chestnut hair rip Edward's head off, and when she turned I saw Esme throw it into a fire. A mahogany flash dove into the enemy army started cutting them down with almost invisible blue blades coming from her hands. Before I could see her face, it flashed to Jasper and Alice defending the wounded and healing. They were beautiful and deadly. It was a dance of death and pain. One they had done many times before, as was obvious.

The Queens were at their Kings backs, defending and killing with a ruthless fashion only learned from years of practice and application of violence. The elemental and plasmic were together. He would shoot a needle stream of water and she would charge it, making vampires explode into smouldering embers. The shifters were working together. Horses from the plains were kicking and trampling, the lions and wolves were ripping heads, panthers and jaguars clawing and shredding. Cheetahs were sprinting around the perimeter, keeping the whole battle contained, chasing and killed running opposition, saving Volturi that were launched from the battle. There even Children of the Moon fighting with us

There were women and men behind Jasper and Alice helping Volturi fighters heal. It was madness but it was necessary.

As the scene came to a close, the gold and grey shimmer broke up into dust, the last thing I saw was my own face with red eyes.

"What in hell was that?" Paul broke the silence. Of course it was Paul.

"This is why I contacted everyone when I did. We all have to work together to not only protect the secret of the supernatural world, but to save the world itself. I had the vision when I was with Peter. It's a certainty, It won't be able to be avoided, no matter what," Alice took her hands off the sphere after the spikes receded. "That's why I was alone when I went to get all of you. Jasper, Charlotte, and Peter were gathering more allies for us. Ones the Volturi wouldn't be able to get."

As she said that, the throne room door opened and quite a few nomads came in, as well as some very well dressed vampires sporting Mexican designs on their suits and dresses.

The man who seemed to be elected leader of the nomads stepped forward.

"Aro, my progeny, I am here to help. These are but a few of the nomads. The rest are on the way to a deserted area to start building a base of operations. We will help for the good of us and for the world," the man with long, dark hair inclined his head to the Kings.

"Alistair, Sire, thank you. I'll be pulling out the old war uniforms. If you and your nomads would like to be measured for them, please follow Heidi," Aro hugged the man he called Alistair.

"Benito, Senior, it has been too long. I didn't know Peter had gone to collect you, I went to the far South, past where you and Maria used to fight. Meet Senorita Faustina, the current top warlord in Southern Mexico," Jasper walked over to a tanned man in a white suit, bringing a tall woman wearing a red and silver dress. "Please, pass my regards to Jorge and Anya. I will ask that you get your war uniforms if you still have them, otherwise the Volturi can provide them to you and your armies."

The warlords kept talking as Jasper, Char, Pete, and Alice mingled and talked, making and building, or rebuilding, bonds of friendship and family. I saw clouds of Aura around some of them, each was a different colour, or shade of colour. I saw the guard and the nomads talking as well, and the warlords' armies and the nomads. The wolves were looking uncomfortable so I made a decision. Alice looked at me and nodded before going back to her conversation.

I walked up to the dias, next to my grandfather's throne and put my fligners to my lips. I did a loud, piercing note to get everyone's attention.

"Greetings all. I am Isabella Swan Whitlock. My brother has not had a chance to turn me yet, but it will be soon. I need you all to contact any shapeshifters in your area. You are just the beginning of the allies here, the one's found in the North American continent and on travels here. We are all needed for this. This is more than a threat to us, it's a threat to the whole world. Humans, shifter, witches, and everyone else who lives on this planet," I grab their attention. "There are few things we can change about this war. There is no known outcome yet. We can win this, there is a guarantee of casualties. Alice, how long can we hold the war off?"

Her eyes glaze over as she looks at the future, hundreds of possibilities and outcomes.

"Three years, at best. They won't be here for a year if we do nothing," her answer hangs in the air.

"Alright, we have three years. Alice will tell us the best times to disrupt. Different groups, never the same, no matter what. Mates fight together, siblings don't. Contact the shapeshifters, finish getting the vampires," I start issuing orders, but it isn't really me. It's like Jasper and The Major. "If any of you have human mates, friends, or know if any could be gifted and/or willing to help fight for us and our future, as well as their own, turn them. We have six months to get them all together."

Chapter Two:Eddie

How dare that stupid human humiliate me! To disobey me and treat me like a petulant child! How dare she! I was running back to my father after my flight back from Italy. His 'friends' had crossed the line, threatening us like that. I was running for a few hours before I had to stop and feed. I hated eating animals, but we had an image to uphold. A reputation as being smarter, better. More humane than the savages that made up the rest of the vampire population. It took me about a day to reach Father's house in Minnesota.

"Father! We need to discuss something. Privately," I demand, anger in my voice.

"Alright Edward. Once you've calmed, we can go to my study;" he tries to pacify me. Hah, as if that will work.

"No Carlisle, now. This is imminent," I do get my way very often. He just sighs and we go upstairs to his sound proofed study. I knock on Rosalie's door and bring her with me.

"The Volturi say we have one more chance. If we bring another human in on the secret, they must be turned. Otherwise we three die. We need to do something! I don't want to end my games. That stupid human should have killed herself, instead she was csvorting with the wolves of La Push!" I know I'm ranting, but that stupid human could undo all of pur work for Vladimir and Stefan.

"Alright Edward, what should we do? We all know Esme and Emmett wont go along with it," Rosalie differed to me, as that stupid human should have.

What none of them noticed was the teeny, tiny little bug Emmett had placed on Carlisle's lamp shade. He and Esme heard everything.

"I'm the coven leader, Rosalie. I have to make the final decisions. I suppose we could kill them, or we could leave them behind. It would be incredibly hard to take down Emmett. I suggest we pack and leave tonight. Send them out hunting or something. Make sure they aren't here when we pack. We'll have to run, though. Emmett can track our money spednichure if he actually wanted to find us," Carlisle decided for us.

I wasn't happy about leaving them alive, but there wasn't much I could do. Carlisle was right. It was his right as coven leader to decide what we do and I couldn't argue. Cursed coven magic.

"Carlisle, should we feed from humans before going to our Masters? Be at full power and in peak health?" I wanted human blood again, I was desperate for him to say yes.

"If you wish, Edward. I will be in the research area so it doesn't matter if I eat humans. You and Rosalie probably should though."

Wonderful. I couldn't wait to taste their blood again. Humans were good for one thing at least.

We waited for hours for Esme and Emmett to leave and give us the time to pack and leave. We made sure to send them south east since we had to go north west to get where we needed. We made sure to pack only the clothes we wanted. No books or any other material objects. Nothing to indicate that we were leaving. That we would be halfway across Canada by the time they got back.

It took almost a week for us to get there. We ran straight through, only stopping to eat. Human blood is even better than I could ever have thought after so long eating animals. Rosalie looked much better with red eyes. I might consider taking her for a mate once this is all over and the Volturi are dead.
